Food I had the burger ordered nit medium came out more medium rare. You get a choice of a salad it is just lettuce I don't recommend and there are house chips wish I would have gotten those. My and and fiance got salads which they both enjoyed. Small plates for the price. I will first say the pastry that I had was very good, which was the turkey, green chile, and cheese croissant. My friend also got the basic breakfast (not pictured) and it was also good. The carne adovada meat had a good flavor and wasn't dry. The service and all the ladies working there are very sweet and work hard. However the coffee.. just not good. My friend and I both got two different iced drinks and they just tasted like sugar and milk. I even got mine half sweet and it was still too sweet. I just feel like the espresso is not strong enough. Me and hubby stopped in after lunch to try some pastries & coffee. Bakery is open from 8am-2pm. Since we arrived closer to 1 pm the pastry selection was minimal but we were still able to find some goodies. My hubby had the Turmeric Blueberry Scone and let me just tell you about how absolutely Scrumptious it was. Right when you bite into it you get a burst of different flavors that go well with each other and it was just delectable. I had the Chocolate Cake which was delicious as well. Very chocolate forward but not heavy had a nice balance to it. Hubby also had a cappuccino which we enjoyed - it was served in a to go cup so I didn't take a picture. Hopefully next time they serve it in one of their mugs. Overall we loved the pastries and the space. It's decorated so cute and it's very open and inviting. Service was friendly too. We adore this place! The vibe is cool and modern shop and enjoy the relaxation. The bakery items are all amazing! Get there early because they run out! Fresh baked almond croissants are a fav of ours. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The outdoor seating is lovely. What a hidden gem! Fancies is amazing- I say this will full confidence after only visiting once. First off the employees were so kind. There were 2 women working the counter and they treated everyone with the same enthusiasm and stellar customer service. There are some menus by the register that show both breakfast and lunch options. I opted for the fried egg sandwich on a croissant. The egg was perfectly cooked, the onion jam had just the right amount of sweetness, and the croissant was soft and fluffy. I also got a latte and yummmm it was delicious! The perfect balance of sweetness from added syrup and bitterness from the coffee- a hard balance at time. While eating in the cutest, quaint dining room surrounded by marketplace products I was eyeing the bakery case. Everything looked amazing so I had to get a brown sugar chocolate chip pistachio cookie on my way out. It might be my favorite cookie in town, holy smokes it was outstanding! Disappointing. I read great reviews so a friend and I went to try it out. I had read they had gluten free options for lunch. They do not. The only GF item was a single dessert. So my friend had a salad with apples, blue cheese, chicken ... it was $17, mostly lettuce and the chicken was not white meat. Very unappealing. My friend did her best to eat it but she left the chicken. I ordered a ham, cheese and green chile toastie. They brought me a salad. So I waited for the correction. They also charged me $17 for the sandwich when the menu listed it as $12. I went to get a refund and the ladies at the cash register said it is $16 for that item. I showed them the menu. They said the menu is wrong but gave me back the difference . The sandwich wasn't bad. The salad that came with it was lettuce. That's it. Not a salad. Just lettuce. I'm not sure what has changed, but my favorite hidden breakfast spot has not been up to its usual standards over the past several weeks. For the previous five months, the food quality and presentation were consistently outstanding, which is why I became a regular customer. Unfortunately, my recent visits have been disappointing. Items that I previously enjoyed are no longer being prepared well. The eggs have been overcooked, scorched, and rubbery, while the potatoes have been cold and hard. The noticeable decline in both quality and consistency has been frustrating. I am very disappointed by this change and, regrettably, will no longer be spending my hard-earned money here. read more

We have enjoyed all the treats from Fancies. The turmeric blueberry scone is one of the most amazing scones I've ever enjoyed. My partner loves the green chile ones and my kiddo believes their croissants are the best ever. We took their turkey and cheese croissants on a road trip and feel that any road trip with will pale in comparison. We love hanging out in Corrales. We drove by this market and always said we wanted to try. We stopped in to try lunch, it wasn't busy when we got there, but quickly picked up. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a grinder sandwich with fries. I was a little skeptical, but was gladly proved wrong, the sandwich was anything but ordinary! The bread was perfectly soft inside with a nice crunchy crust but not the type that cuts up your mouth. The French fries, you HAVE to try them other the garlic aioli! Amazing! My husband ordered a salad and he doesn't usually like blue cheese, but he ate the entire salad and loved it! I snuck a bit and it was spring in a bowl, the chicken was the star of the show! Prices on the high side, as is typical in such boutique vendors. Pain au Chocolat & green chile scone both had lots of buttery goodness going for them. In spite of being wonderfully fluffy, they were also substantial enough that the two pastries, with a cup of coffee, made a respectable breakfast. Gluten free orange pound cake got good review for it's flavor by the individual who dispatched it post haste. I ordered a small latte and a croissant. Although the croissants looked like they had many flaky layers on the outside, all of them were pale. When I opened mine up it collapsed because it was raw inside, a croissant is a yeasted risen roll and should look like bread inside not soft semi-opaque layers of raw dough that pull out of the cooked surface bread. The coffee was bitter and not in a good way. Only 1 shot in a 12oz latte for $4.50? I was disappointed. Burque Bakery--awesome--is such a drive. Ihatov decent but again not in the neighborhood. Blue Door Patisserie closed. I was hoping for a decent croissant on the Westside. Sigh. read more

Two of went to Fancies as we were excited after looking at the menu online. I ordered a sandwich that came with a side salad and asked if the salad had dressing and was told yes. When my sandwich was brought out, there was no salad or explanation as to why. I went inside and asked about the salad and was told they ran out (?) The girl asked if I wanted something else without telling what were options and walked off. I went back out to my table and after a bit, a plate of French fries was brought out. Poor customer service as I may have wanted fruit or a bag of chips. Why when my food was delivered wasn't I told there would be no salad? The food was decent, the staff were not very pleasant. What changed????? I drive 40 minutes one way to get to Fancies in time to buy their croissants. It was 5 stars 3 weeks ago, but now I struggle to give 3. I bought 6 croissants this morning and just threw away all of them, wasted $33. Small, gummy, tasteless, yet the same price when they were 4 times the size and 10x the taste. The pastries look great, are very creative, and are often quite good, but sometimes are a little stale. When they first opened, the staff was unfriendly and quite cold, but that has improved. I wish they had more sandwich offerings outside of the strict lunch hours. Coffee drinks are OK but small for the price. It is a cute place for specialty condiments and bottled drinks. read more

Was excited about the prospect of having a new place to eat here in Corrales. Went twice and was disappointed both times. First visit I had an espresso and a pastry. Pastry was ok but the espresso was horrible. If they're going to offer espresso they really need to school their baristas. Second visit was for happy hour. Instead of being seated in the bar, we got a table in the corner of the grocery store. Our charcuterie board was perhaps the least impressive example of charcuterie I've ever seen -- some nuts, some bread, a few cold cuts and what was advertised as frites but looked like Sysco by product. Service was ona par with the food. Good luck but we won't be back. read more

When back another weekend for Sunday brunch however Website stated brunch started at 9 when we arrived we were told brunch was not served until 10am, which explained all the folks standing around waiting. Out of this world, amazing! We have needed this awesome dining for a long time in Corrales. Back in the 70s & 80s, Corrales was famous for its local restaurants, with only one really surviving, today. Thankfully, this place will become a quick local favorite. Please take advantage of this new little secret that likes reservations, but accepts walk-ins, if you don't mind sitting under the beautiful patio. This place offers a seasonal menu by the local farmers w/northern NM, Chef Xaviar Montano. A contemporary menu w/a sprinkle of the SW that is fresh, diverse, light, but citrus. Ambiance that is inviting for anyone and everyone to enjoy. It's a step above some of the other hot spots restaurants that I shall not mention. Don't miss out on this NEW, but certainly different, gem. Also, they have a pastry/brunch by day menu that I haven't tried...they need to open earlier!!!!
