This is a restaurant that changed the dining landscape in miami. The original opened in 107th avenue by Flagler back in the 80's after the Somoza regime was overthrown and many Nicaraguans moved to miami. It grew to a chain of which only one remained in the falls. Before this opened none of us had heard of Dulce de tres leches or churrasco. Those are both now staples in many restaurants in town There was one in the gables exactly where this one is now . I thought it was a mistake but it's here and it's great. The churrasco is the signature dish and even if you are a big eater the "baby" size at 8 oz is more than enough. It's an excellent cut and they do it right. You will get a pretty good salad and bread and the dish will be served with mariquitas, platains and an excellent rice with red beans. They have a solid wine list and the ambiance is very refined. The service was perfect. Make no mistake though the highlight is the food. You may be told to try el novillo on bird road but the food is better here and the ambiance is more refined,

Wow. What a fabulous place to eat. I had the lunch carne asada - med rare. Comes with gallo pinto rice and sweet plantains and tajadas. Of course all the sauces were available and only cost $15.99. The steak was perfectly grilled and had sooo much flavor. Douglas waited on me at the bar and was an awesome attentive guy. The place is beautiful inside. What an amazing experience. Thanks Los Gallegos. Keep up the great work.

Honestly, this restaurant has been a part of the Falls blueprint from as long as I can remember. I came here for an event and did enjoy the food I tried and decided to come back. My mom loves steak so she ordered the churrasco with the gallo pinto. It came with mariquitas and platanitos. It was a lot of food. The steak was delicious. I ordered the pasta with the chicken. The chicken was grilled to perfection. Again, I felt like the portion was huge and definitely had left overs. Both dishes also came with a side salad, so great value for the amount received.

Had baby 6 oz presidente churasco and a 12 oz los ranchos churasco. Could not taste the difference. Both were very good! Ordered white jalapenos sauce on the side it's amazing! Also the guacamole on top of the salad was excellent. We ordered sangria had good flavor. Our server was terrific and always came by! No room for dessert we were too full! The place is very clean but not easy to find. Nothing popped up trying to find it even though I was using my GPS.

We came here to have dessert. We shared a tres leches. The Los Ranchos Trea Leches is one of the best in Miami. I highly recommend it. I've come here to dine at other times and the food is amazing. The service was also great. The restaurant is very beautifully decorated.

This is my family's second time visiting this Los Ranchos location, and it was great once again! The service was amazing! The manager, owner, and our servers were super nice and attentive. The food came out fast, even though we were a party of six in total. For an appetizer, we got two orders of the Tostones Nicas, which were very tasty and cheesy. Also, the house salads that come with the entrees are soo good (they bring a pile of cheese!). Everyone ordered a Surf & Turf beside me; I got the Salmon Churrasco. They loved their steak; it was a good portion, and cooked to perfection. They also enjoyed the shrimp that came with it. And as for my salmon, it was very good, cooked perfectly, and very fresh. On top of that, even though the air conditioner was unfortunately broken, the experience was still great! The owner even went out of his way to apologize to us and give us a discount for the next time we come :) Overall an amazing experience and great service!

This Los Ranchos location just recently "soft opened" within the past few days and according to the staff, they'll be having a grand opening sometime next month. I'm also told this restaurant is actually returning to this location just off the large Ponce de Leon roundabout in Coral Gables, as they used to be located in this same building years ago. After closing their location at Bayside Marketplace during the pandemic and their restaurant in Hialeah more recently, Los Ranchos now has 2 remaining restaurants - This new one in the Gables, and the other at The Falls. First impressions of this Coral Gables location are really good. I'd been to their Bayside location many times for both lunch and dinner (and have missed it since it closed) and we'd also gone to their restaurant at The Falls and in my opinion this new eatery beats both those others. It's nicely decorated and a bit fancier, yet not overdone. One can sit at the bar, at a number of tables with chairs or couch seating, or at outdoor tables on the patio in front. Two areas of the main dining space can be sectioned off for larger private events if necessary and they have 1/2 dozen TVs scattered throughout the place. Best of all, the food is exactly as I remembered - flavorful, plentiful yet also affordable. I had the baby churrasco which was an 8 ounce center cut grilled tenderloin, served with a salad, garlic bread, gallo pinto, sweet plantains and plantain chips; A really filling meal for $26. Los Ranchos has a lot of competition in Coral Gables for steak. Just from memory I can think of 1/2 dozen other steak places on or near Miracle Mile, yet I think this restaurant will do well considering both their name recognition and menu prices that few other steakhouses in this area can match - especially considering the quality and everything your meal here comes with (vs some other restaurants where salad and sides aren't included with the steak and need to be ordered separately for an additional price). I wish this newest Los Ranchos well; We'll definitely be back!

Today Saturday 3:30 pm went back to Los Ranchos. We were greeted by the manager and seated immediately in the side section tables I believe are # 60 and 70. I was busy in conversation and did not hear our servers name when she greeted us I believe she said Yvonne. Her service was excellent and food was excellent. Once again we ordered the Austin Hope. However, this time I had to advise the manager that the wine temperature was above normal it was warm. The manager was kind enough to bring an ice bucket. Once the wine temperature dropped it was more pleasantly tasting. I noticed where the wine bottles are stored is more like an enclosed cabinet with lights that creates heat and the cabinet is not temperature controlled. We also go to Los Ranchos in the Falls. The wine there is stored in a temperature control store much better tasting there due to the wine served at an excellent temperature.

Instead, we were sat at the smallest bar seating, which was completely inappropriate and not romantic at all for an occasion like Valentine's Day. As soon as we sat down, I politely asked if we could be moved. The manager then told me that I had booked bar seating, which is simply not true. Why would anyone reserve bar seating a month in advance for Valentine's Day? I checked my reservation confirmation myself and it never stated that, and I even tried making another reservation to verify ..bar seating wasn't even an option. He told us he would "see what he could do," and we were left waiting at the bar with no water, no menus, no service, and no communication whatsoever. Meanwhile, we watched multiple couples get seated at proper tables back-to-back. At one point, we even overheard another couple say their reservation was at the same time as ours, and they were seated at a table immediately. When I tried to politely ask for an update, the manager or owner completely ignored me. No acknowledgment, no apology, nothing. I was honestly in shock at how disrespectful and dismissive they were. We ended up getting up and leaving because of how uncomfortable and disrespected we felt. Valentine's Day is supposed to be special, and this restaurant completely ruined that experience.

We chose a Spanish Urbión Rioja reserva wine and it was quite delectable. We also ordered 2 Coke zeros. For our starters, we selected: * 2 Chips de Berenjena. Eggplant chips, flash fried and drizzled with honey. These are the best!!! So delicious, we ordered 2 servings and everyone in the restaurant was ordering them. * Fried Calamari with a very tasty aioli sauce. * Gulas de Ajillo Baby eels cooked in garlic sauce and olive oil - delicious. This dish is very special to us because my Husband eats it every time we visit Barcelona. * Pulpo a la Plancha - Grilled octopus with creamy black rice made of calamari ink. The rice was excellent, absolutely luscious. * Pulpo a la Gallega. Boiled octopus and boiled potatoes drizzled with paprika and olive oil. For our Mains we ordered the * Filet Mignon with blue cheese sauce and boiled potatoes. This dish was just OK. The potatoes weren't seasoned, only boiled. The steak had no char and was overdone for a filet. My Husband also ordered * Patatas a la Giralda - their twist on patatas bravas with two homemade signature sauces. These were crispy, and delicous. Served underneath the 2 sauces. * I ordered Grilled Chicken with salad. I was taken aback by the server for food shaming me to order something pricier, not just basic chicken. That's not cool. I also got a side of * Patatas - fried steak fries, very crunchy paired well with our food. For dessert we had * Crema Catalana, which is a Spanish syle Crème brûlée. This dessert has probably been the smallest dessert I've ever ordered. Not to mention, the consistency, the taste and color was all wrong. It was as if you had a Jello vanilla pudding with a miniscule amount of hardened caramelized sugar. Definitely not getting this desert again. I'd like to try the Tarta de Santiago next time. Once our food arrived the Flamenco show began and it was glorious!! The lead male vocalist was phenomenal! His vocal range and guitar skills were admirable. The show began with singing first and then the dancer started. She was a personable, very talented dancer and performer. At one point she locked eyes with me and before I knew it I was up there dancing with her, which was so much fun! I really enjoyed this restaurant and recommend it to open minded people who enjoy food from Spain.

Everyone from the bartenders to the server, to the hostesses were all extremely lovely and accommodating. They were very hospitable and made sure that any request that we had would be attempted. We ordered the Swordfish special and Cacio E Pepe pasta. The pasta was good but the swordfish was really what was cooked to perfection! It was not too soft but not rubbery at all. I liked the lemon caper butter sauce as well. We also grabbed a burrata because...why not? It was also decadent and scrumptious despite it being a slightly small portion size but still adequate for two to share. We were also asked if we wanted any extra cheese on top of the pasta which we definitely obliged! The lighting was gorgeous on the patio and very romantic. It was a nice spot right in the heart of Coral Gables and the nice experience has me wanting to return so soon.

Great vibes here! Stopped in for a $4 aperol spitz which they offer all day, every day. It was…read moresuper refreshing. The atmosphere was nice and lively even for a lunch hour. We sat at the bar, very European style service not the efficient checking in with you kind of service but we weren't in a rush. We only tried the beef carpaccio which was ok, the meat was a little tough and not overly flavorful. The bread it was served with was delicious. Definitely want to come back and try more of their dishes.

I feel bad that I hadn't taken the time to write a review for Vinoteca yet. My first visit was…read moreabout a year ago, for a couple glasses of wine and snacks on a Saturday afternoon with my husband, and baby (now outings with a toddler are a bit too lively to patronize a wine shop). Another time was a weeknight evening with some fellow moms, and another was for a wine tasting that we noticed as we walked by. Sometimes, I have just stopped in to buy a bottle to take to dinner. Each visit has been great. It's a really cozy, welcoming place, with walls of wines of varying price points. The wine by the glass and snack/tapas menu is perfect, and if you are interested in having one of the many bottles that they sell, you will find knowledgeable help in identifying something you'll enjoy (and maybe something you haven't heard of before), at a price you are comfortable with.

Vinoteca is a small, cozy wine bar on Grand Avenue in Coconut Grove with a handful of indoor and…read moreoutdoor tables and about 1/2 dozen stools at the bar. They sell bottles of wine, imported olive oils, lots of (mostly European) wines by the glass, and light bites like charcuterie, small pizzas and popcorn. We've come here a few times, our dog was welcome, staff were friendly and outgoing, offering us various tabletop games like tic-tac-toe to pass the time, and once we'd both ordered a few glasses of wine, they offered us complimentary popcorn - something they normally charge for. Wines on their "by the glass" menu average about $16 each, and most staff pour them behind the bar where they have a gauge to measure out each one. The food prep area behind the bar is quite small (which is why they don't have a large menu), but so is this little gem of a wine spot in general. It's cozy, eclectic and great for a glass of wine and a small snack, or a nightcap after having dinner elsewhere. It's good for singles at the bar, or an intimate spot for couples and smaller groups. Vinoteca seems to have found their niche, and they've filled it quite nicely. That said, I'm not sure the staff, at least the ones working on the nights we've come, have a lot of knowledge about wines or are in the position to talk at length about their various selections.
