Went here with family last night. I think we danced in our seats through the entire meal. Great authentic upbeat music going. And it was not too loud. Just made for a fun atmosphere. I always get the Michelada. It's like a Bloody Mary but with beer instead of vodka and without all the garnish. My family got a pitcher of strawberry margaritas and they were yummy too. I ordered the taqitos and was happy with them. Service was ok, nothing that sticks out. Wanted to try the flan but was too full. So I have a reason to go back. Updated post-I have been here a few times. I order a margarita. Cuz that's what you drink with tacos. I am hoping they read this because the flavors of the margaritas are all really wimpy. Pretty solid Mexican food here. We were in the area and decided to pop in based on other reviews. The salsa and beans to go along with the chips to start off the meal was fantastic. The salsa was delicious. Amazing how each Mexican restaurant has a different take on salsa. This one was excellent. I ordered the chicken enchiladas suizas, which were very good, but just needed to be a little hotter (I don't mean spice, I mean temperature - they were warm, but not hot -- almost like my dish was made first and sat while the others were prepared). Still, they were good. My daughter ordered a tamale, which she ate every last bit, even though when it arrived it at the table, she quietly griped to me that there was sauce and cheese on it (she likes them plain). I told her to just eat it, and she did. My husband and son both ordered the big daddy burrito, or something along those lines. They enjoyed. All in all - good. Good food, service was quick and attentive. But, there was an accounting error. Oddly enough though, it was made on the adding machine tape that was stapled to our tab -- I'm not sure how it was done. The math for the subtotal was correct, but when the tax was added, it somehow added an extra dollar and some change. My husband pointed it out. Stopped here to eat while in town for the Packers game and it was amazing. Small place but friendly service. I got the Chicken fajita burrito and it was awesome. My husband got the pork burrito which was good as well. We could have just shared one they were so big. Margaritas were good and you could taste the alchohol. Super disappointed in the food. I had spent all day looking for somewhere to eat for the evening since I was by myself and was treating myself to a dinner out. I got the fajitas with steak and shrimp, and it was so bland that I even contemplated telling the manager and asking for a new one, but decided against it. Even the queso was terrible, watered down and zero taste. The salsa just plain sucked. Only reason I gave this place a 2 star was because the staff was very friendly and my waitress was nice and attentive. Would not recommend if you are vegetarian! There were only two vegetarian options on the menu, and even then, they weren't fully vegetarian. The rice was made with chicken broth, the burrito had lard, and the beans had meat. It was a little disappointing that they labeled these dishes as vegetarian, when they technically were not. That being said, everyone else I was with really seemed to enjoy their meals! The staff were all super friendly, and it was a good experience overall! Still discovering Mexican food in the area and tried out Los Rivera's. We were greeted with chips, salsa, and bean dip. Complimentary bean dip appears to be standard in this area with Mexican restaurants which I don't mind. The salsa was fresh, wasn't spicy- had good heat. The bean dip was also good. My mom and I got large margaritas with Coronitas inside, pretty standard again. Definitely did not skimp on the tequila in the margarita which was nice. I ordered steak tacos. I enjoyed them overall. They were served authentic with limes, cilantro, onion, on corn tortillas. The steak had flavor and wasn't dry, but it was chopped up super small. I didn't like that as pieces of steak kept falling out of my tacos. I didn't understand why it was so small despite having enough steak total on the taco. Rice and beans as a side which were what you would expect, no surprises. My mom had a cheese and onion enchilada and a chicken taco. She loved the chicken taco, but the enchilada not so much. The sauce on the enchilada tasted different than what we are used to. Very powerful red sauce was used on the enchilada, versus a milder red sauce. Overall positive experience. This is a standard Mexican restaurant where you can anticipate what to expect. It is not the best Mexican food I ever had, but definitely not the worst. read more

Great! Food was great! Service was great! Prices were great! Favorite part was actually the chips and salsa. The waitress kept them coming, without us even asking. Totally on par for a good, quality Mexican restaurant. Only thing I noticed was that the place was totally deserted. Granted, this was at like 4 on a Thursday. Good food and prices. I had the burrito classico and it was huge. It took 45 minutes to place our order but we went on Cinco de Mayo and there seemed to be a miscommunication with the staff. My wife claims the steak fajitas were the best she's ever had. I agree, the meals we've had here have been good, the service attentive. My Piña Colada was very good. We will definitely put this on our list of places to eat when in Oshkosh. The restaurant is not closed. It (re)opened in May 2013. Back again in July 2015. Great experience!!!! Friendly staff we were seated and served fast !!! Awesome margaritas- I recommend the Tamarindo. Loved the white cheese dip app. And the tacitos for dinner were amazing. Topped it off with Flan for dessert - wow the best I've ever had! First off, I just want to say....leaving a bad review makes me feel like a jerk. I am not from oshkosh and I dont know all the "spots" in town. But while visiting oshkosh, I wanted some good authentic Mexican food. This wasnt it. I craved the comforting flavor of corn tortillas...so I went with flautas...my long time favorite comfort food.... It was on a flour tortilla....that's so basic...corn tortilla on the flautas is like fundamentals of Mexican cuisine....... I did not eat them. I ate the rice and beans...which werent covered in lettuce and Tom as tomatoes like traditional Mexican restaurants...and they were fine. I opened my churros.. the first thing I thought was "these arent churros..." tasted like it came from the frozen section of the grocery store. And the cream cheese sauce they served it with had most definitely turned. The enchilada sauce....flavorless.... Everyone else with me enjoyed their food...2 of them children...none of them really into Mexican food like me. They're flour tortilla loving types lol :) Anyways. I'm sad. We've been to Los Rivera's numerous times over the past year and a half + -. The atmosphere is quaint. The owners are nice. The service is typically good. The food quality is consistent and fresh. We love the jalapeño taco truck sauce. The red and green salsas are yummy. My Fav is the piccata burrito, M loves the shrimp burrito with creamy cheese sauce; and we both enjoy the fajitas. This place was decent. The service was great, food was mostly great. One issue with six of us was that there was a lot of liquid with the ground beef. So one party had a taco salad and it was like soup in the bottom of the fried tortilla bowl. Maybe other meat options won't have that problem. read more

This was a surprise. A relatively small restaurant with big flavors! I had a quesadilla with pulled pork in a red sauce with pineapple & cheese. It came with miniscule amounts of guacamole and sour cream, but it was delicious! Friends had burritos, taco salad & shrimp tacos and all were pleased with their meals. Stopped for lunch on 8/7/18. The waiter was not friendly and he looked like he'd rather be any place but there. The menu had food fingerprints on them which was a real turn off.
