This course was great. Played a 1pm tee time today after I played Rustic Canyon in the morning. Has some challenging greens and a good combination of narrow and wide fairways. It was also a bit windy, which I am used to being from the SF Bay Area (also made it not as hot and more enjoyable with the nice breeze) the course was also in very good shape. Some tees were definitely not flat and had some over sized divots, but that's understandable considering the times. Definitely check this course out if you are in LA area! read more

This was the worst round of golf in my life. 4.5 hours for 9 holes. At one point there were 5 groups of 4 on 1 hole. The beer cart came by once in 5 hours. Starter is confused and disorganized. No parking either. AVOID. read more

Los Robles Greens, conveniently located right off the 101 Ventura Freeway in Thousand Oaks. This golf courses has always eluded me, probably because of its lengthy northern proximity from the Greater Los Angeles area. Every once in a while we would get paired up with random golfers and when golfers talk golf courses, Los Robles Greens comes up with positive feedback. We finally got to conquer this golf course this past August. An 1-1.5 hour commute for us but well worth the drive. We booked a week in advance for an early Friday tee time. Greens fees weren't cheap but aren't expensive as Rustic Canyon with cart prices. Come to think of it, I have never seen some internet deal for this course. The feel I got when I played here was that the locals wanted to keep this place off the grid and be that secret course that the locals would frequent. After playing here, I can't argue why they may be somewhat territorial of it. It's also a little bit cheaper for the residents to play here versus the non-residents like myself. The overall yardage is relatively shorter than normal regulation 18 holes. Black plays only about 6300, while blue plays about 6000 yards. You can almost bet that when a golf course lacks the distance, lurks plenty of other difficulties. Target golf will be the premise of the day. Some sand traps are deep and plentiful especially around the greens. There are some unrelenting fescues and strategically places plants/trees which can easily produce a snowman on your scorecard. We decided to go for it and play the black tips. Probably not a bright idea but it was no doubt challenging. If we were to return, I would recommend playing from the blues. The difficulty of the black tee boxes in how well you can control your driver, not really the distance but if you can keep it straight. Any veering off with produce an almost instant negative result for the next shot. I vaguely recall that the front 9 holes were relatively flat while the back 9 presented some elevation changes. What I really liked about Los Robles Greens was the upkeep and overall maintenance of the golf course. It's well-groomed and manicured while the greens ran smooth but not icy fast. The aesthetically pleasing (green) scenery and well positioned hazards make up a fun but quite challenging golf course. If only we lived closer to this golf course, then would probably find us playing it more often. I would highly recommend checking out Los Robles Greens and giving it a shot. We were impressed with every aspect of the course. Both advanced players and hackers can conquer this course. Although, if you're somewhat new, then I would recommend teeing off from the shorter tee boxes. Be wary of the par 3, 9th hole. The sand traps and fescues are ruthless! Also, pay attention to that view coming up to the 18th green because it is postcard worthy. read more

For my daughter's wedding we decided on this venue because , it was nice, it had The Saturday we wanted, and the prices were reasonable. My daughter and her fiancé took time off work went down to complete the contract from the proposal and when they got there, it all changed. they were told that they did not meet the minimum food and beverage total which states on the proposal at $17,000. our total was $16,396.38 so my daughter offered to pay the difference of $603, they were told no. The proposal does say 17,000 but they were told thats before service charges and taxes. NOT STATED ON PROPOSAL (see attached). So they left very disappointed. We had canceled everything else at this time because this was the venue we were going with. I even tried to call a couple days later to talk with the venue coordinator to see if we could work something out, but the answer was no.Bottom Line on this place watch out for hidden cost. read more

Round took almost five hours the last two times out. Starters will let anyone tee off whenever they show up to the 1st tee regardless of their reserved start time, people jump holes in front of others groups, no management of the course from the marshall or any employees, it's a free for all. Had a lady two groups in front of us lose her ball on a par 3 so after spending ten minutes looking for it she goes back to the tee to replay the hole, with three foursomes waiting behind her. If you like to be rude and inconsiderate to other golfers, feel free to play here. I doubt I'll be back and this is the closest course to my home. read more

I LOVE LOS ROBLES!!! If you are engaged, as soon as you have a date or a few back up dates, call this venue! They are typically booked a year in advance, but call anyways. I booked the venue right after we decided on forever together, in late July 2015 for a wedding date of May 6, 2017. The Gardens are typically booked up every weekend during wedding season, but they do weddings year round & have two spaces for weddings to be held on the same day, The Gardens, which is outdoors and the Sunset room, which is indoors. The manager for the events is Chrissy, whom I worked with. She was very informative, helpful, sweet, organized & just a wonderful person to work with all around. Our total budget for the wedding was $20,000. She was able to work with us and help us meet this goal. Keep in mind that I did get a discount since my husband is the golf course superintendent of this venue & only had 110-116 guests. Also, in terms of overall work, I was very hands on and did a lot of work myself, since I am an artist, project manager and plan events for my non-profit. I knew that being a more involved and hands on bride, I could save us a lot of money, which I did. Normally, this would cost $5-10k more than what we actually spent because I had 20 months to plan my wedding. Below are my tips for planning a wedding... 1.) Book early & create a realistic budget 2.) Choose your bridesmaids & groomsmen carefully. They can either ease your worries & stress or cause you more worries & stress. 3.)Decide on a theme & make your own props 4.) To keep costs down I had a friend who is a wedding coordinator arrange flowers for me that I purchased at Costco instead of hiring a florist 5.) Have a very strict invite list & make your guests RSVP & constantly update your list 6.) Communicate your vision & your expectations with your planner/coordinator, groom, bridal shower & parents 7.) Let everyone be accountable for their parts & roles, after you have clearly communicated what you wish their roles to be. 8.) Enjoy the process of planning your wedding. 9.) Where to begin?... My (now) husband, Orlando, and I knew we wanted an outdoor wedding. Something with trees, lots of green and picturesque. I found The Gardens at Los Robles Greens via Instagram hunting and it was the first venue we made an appointment to have a tour of. WE LOVED IT. HANDS DOWN GORGEOUS. But Orlando didn't want to sign away on the only venue we had seen, so we contacted A LOT and visited a few more venues. But they were either too far, too small, too bare/hands on or not the vibe we were going for. We were able to sign at Los Robles without a doubt at that point. We got married October 26, 2019 :) STAFF: Our venue coordinator was Chrissy and I can't say enough good things about her. Seriously, she must have answered a thousand emails from me throughout the whole planning process. She always did it politely, quickly and never made me feel like I was asking too many questions. She really made us feel welcome and always had a warm feeling about her. She even briefly dropped in the day of our wedding to make sure everything was going smoothly. She made the entire process easy. The wait staff the day of was awesome and on top of things. We were really taken care of. My husband was so happy when we were given a tray of the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres since we didn't think we'd be there to enjoy them (and by that point in the day you're starving!) They also made sure we were greeted with our specialty drinks at our sweetheart table and were served dinner first. Everything is just thought out very well. FOOD: Speaking of dinner...the food was SO GOOD. Our guests kept complimenting on how delicious everything was. Specifics for the foodies getting married out there: Asian pear salad (with raspberry vinaigrette), Oaks grilled chicken (with herb veloute sauce), Oaks tri-tip (with madeira sauce), MUSHROOM RISOTTO, and roasted baby carrots and asparagus. LOCATION: The garden is the perfect distance in my opinion from Los Angeles because it's close enough for those who nned to travel home the same night and yet far enough for those who feel like renting a room in order to be a party animal is worth it, haha. The venue is located in a beautiful community and has plenty of hotels nearby. The best part is hands down the grounds. They're manicured to the nines and all the green REALLY makes it a magical little hidden gem. You really don't even remember it's attached to a golf course or that you're even in a city for that matter. It's unbelievably romantic and lends itself to endless possibilities for whatever style/vibe you're going for. PRICE: Everyone has a different budget for their wedding and sticking to it can be a challenge because if you're anything like Orlando and I you end up saying, "what the hell, we deserve it!," to a lot of things, haha. But in all honesty for all the elements included I think the price for the venue is reasonable. I actually did the homework when we had considered a very bare/hands on venue in order to "save" on cost. After tallying up basic items like, catering, alcohol, tables and chairs, we remembered that we would then need to hire servers, bartenders, linens, dancefloor and oh yeah...there are delivery fees for EVERYTHING. These items are literally included in the packages at LRG. In the end we would have spent MORE for less because there are always last minute things you need to add. Besides, my sanity is more important. Orlando and I couldn't be happier with our choice to go with the garden. The wedding was stunning...if we do say so ourselves ;) and a large part of it is because the venue was beautiful all on its own. Thank you again to the staff and Chrissy, we love you. read more

let me start off by saying, if i could give this place 0 stars, i would! the greens are mid at best, it's overpriced, and dirty. to elaborate -- for a plethora of months, the staff neglected to fix the bathrooms on the course (even after complaints from every golfer from here to mars) so the golfers were forced to relive themselves on the pavement outside the bathrooms, thus creating a GIANT puddle of p*ss that smelled and quickly became a legitimate biohazard. i would like to reiterate that the staff/management did nothing about this and never acknowledged any complaints. disgusting and unsanitary. forget about covid, Los Robles Greens has a new-unheard virus growing on their greens that you DON'T wanna catch! read more

The course is in great shape. no complaints there. My group booked a 11:52 tee time yesterday. We were pushed back to 12:35 due to "frost". It was the slowest round of golf ever and we didn't get to finish before sunset. Management obviously intends to put out as much golfers on the course as possible and does care about the pace of play. if we were able to finish, it would have been over a 6 hour round. read more

Nice little bar area and great grounds. Came here more the murder mystery dinner so only had one drink but that drink was stiff, and the server was fast and friendly. Their wine selection leaves something to be desired so you might want to stay away from that but my Gin and Tonic was great! Grab a drink and hit the greens or driving range, can't go wrong with that. Lots of parking and you might even be able to crash a wedding in the right day. read more

I would normally rate the course 4 to 5 stars, but with all the recent rains, the course is playing more difficult than usual because of the deep rough and the standing smelly water on hole 9. Pace off play has slowed because of the deep rough (looking for balls) and may times the golf ball is lost. Hopefully the rough will be shortened soon. I guess, like everywhere else, inflation has raised it's ugly swing in the snack bar. $46 for a pitcher of beer and two orders of (3) little street tacos seems awfully high for the quality of the food. Played here for the first time today and thoroughly enjoyed it - and not just because it was one of my better rounds lately! There's been a ton of rain in Southern California the last couple weeks, so the fairways were quite soft but in good enough condition. Not TOO tight but you can get into some trouble with a wildly errant tee shot. Not much in terms of rough but trees can come into play if you miss too badly. The greens were GREAT. Some of the best I've played in the LA area, period - somewhat quick in spots (there were a lot of cuts on some slick slopes) but a very true roll and some tricky reads. Well guarded but not brutally so. I really enjoyed the layout. The hilliness reminded me of some of the courses I played growing up in North Carolina and the wind today definitely added to the challenges. You really do work through your whole bag between some reachable par 4s, some that'll stretch you out and that beast of a par 5 #14; playing a bit over 600 yards from the tips. As far as amenities; there were coolers at many - if not most - tees, the snack cart came around regularly and the food at the grill was tasty. (We had a frost delay this AM so I had time to load up on a good breakfast) Today being a holiday - and with the delay getting off - I expected a longer round but pace kept moving nicely - just bit over 4 hours and that's with a lunch stop at the turn. All staff was courteous and helpful. Paid around $75 for the holiday rate which was completely reasonable. I've paid quite a bit more around LA not even remotely as good an experience. Definitely looking forward to my next round here. read more

The guy at the pro shop, Bruce was an idiot. The website clearly states driver's license as a proof of residency. However, he was asking for copy of utility bill as a proof of residency. He says driver's license is not accepted. It was only after some back and forth that he finally accepted it to get a resident card. His excuse was driver's license lasts for 6 yrs and people can change residence during that time. Ridiculous! drivers license is only good for 5 yrs. Change your official policy and clearly state it on your website if you're so you don't confuse any misunderstandings. read more

If we were doing it all over again we'd choose them in a heartbeat! We chose the Gardens for our wedding, but went to a tasting in the banquet hall and that was beautiful as well. Another great experience at Los Robles Greens, I only wish I was a resident because I would say some good money on greens fees. Still I was able to find a decent deal on GolfNow.com. $40 with a cart on a Sunday before noon. Maybe this is new but the GPS systems on the carts seem to have been updated. Not only do they tell you distance to the green but the display also shows the distance to the front of the greens, the back of the greens, and that current days pin placement. Pretty nifty tool. I also noticed that you can download a specific GPS app for Los Robles on your phone. If it has the same features as the carts then I'm all in. The facilities and the overall entire course was again well maintained and the rate of play was actually quite brisk for a Sunday. I look forward to returning to Los Robles especially when there is more light throughout the day. read more

Great golf course and clubhouse that has a feeling of a private club. One of the closest golf courses to LA that is open during Covid 19.

A beautiful course at an affordable price (granted we had a large group discount - ask for it if you want it!). Awesome golf carts (with a screen and GPS built in to measure to the hole. The patio is great for sitting outside, but be sure to open an umbrella to protect against the sun! Bathrooms were clean, plenty of parking, and a nice club house with a full bar. read more

I did flowers for a wedding at Los Robles back in June. The event coordinator was one of the best people I have ever worked with. He was so on top of everything. He even fluffed the bride's dress before she walked down the aisle. The ceremony site overlooks the golf course and the indoor reception hall has huge bay windows with views of the course as well. read more

The Oaks (Los Robles) is a great course - varied elevations, water and sand everywhere, tons of trees - but I can't give it more than 3 stars. I really wish I could since employees are friendly and it's a beautiful course but the proximity to the freeway is a killer. You can hear the freeway from every hole on this course, which to me, is not relaxing. Now if you play on a Sunday morning, maybe things are different. For me, the constant drone of the freeway (which is literally feet away on some holes) and sirens from CHP and ambulances, was overwhelming. Other than this fact, I would easily give this course 4.5 stars based on the challenge of certain holes, overall condition (especially considering that we're in a drought), and value. Unfortunately, there are other courses nearby that offer similar conditions and value, but are not located next to a freeway. The employees who run this course are doing everything right - I just wish Cal Trans would build a noise isolating wall next to this section of freeway. read more

Played here today after not playing this course for well over a year. I was thoroughly impressed with how green the course was, the speed and condition of the green, and overall playability of the course. It isn't the toughest course around. Some fairways are pretty narrow but most are wide enough to accommodate most players. One thing I loved about playing here today was that there really isn't two holes alike- with the exception of number 1 and 10. There rest of the course seemed to offer a new challenge for each hole. There are plenty of elevated tees, several holes where your approach shot is hit up to the green, and the greens all have a little break to them. We got a great rate using golf now- $42 with a cart I believe. The range is a bit funky. Members hit from the top of the hill back down to the regular players who hit up to the members. Seems a bit dangerous but I guess they haven't had a problem yet. The putting green is a bit small but offers some foreshadowing to all the break you will see on the greens on the course. Definitely coming back here! Enjoy your round here and hit em straight! read more

Great course. Worth the 42 mile drive (1 way). Staff, starter & cart girl are top notch. Got a great deal from golfnow. Played with 3 others. Started on 10 and finished the whole 18 in 3:50. It was a PR day. I appreciate everything being green. Its understood the constraints of the drought. Tee boxes, fairways are nice. Traps are soft sand, dark brownish. But still soft. Now, the greens. The MF-ing greens. I dont recall 1 straight line putt ever. There should be a sign somewhere that says, "welcome to 3-putt hell." Due to the mountains, 101 fwy and evil, there's always a break, too slow/fast or wasnt a break. But, yes. I look forward to returning. The fwy is close and traffic noise is there. But im often zoned into the game and dont hear it. Sort of like Rori-zoned-in-and-doesnt-notice-the-hot-chick-in-blue + 23. read more

The staff was super friendly, the clubhouse looked brand new and good food and a nice drink selection in the bar. The golf course was in excellent condition and the ungulated greens are fast and true. Very interesting bunkers, some with significant depth. The holes are really beautiful. The conditions of the course were near perfect. Now the bad. A lot of the holes butt against the always busy 101 Freeway and the traffic is loud. In fact, I don't think there is a hole where you can't hear the noise of the freeway. The course is tight. So tight that I question if there really is enough room for an 18 hole course in the first place. They have done a great job making it as playable and beautiful as possible but sometimes its like the wild west with golf balls flying everywhere. Our Saturday afternoon round was normal pace on the front then slowed to a grueling halt on the back. Half of our group left five hours into the round after finishing the 16th hole. read more

Love Los Robles Greens! Our junior Son who is 12 is an Arcis Prime member. Our Son uses the practice facilities several times per week and plays a couple rounds per week. The staff at LR are and have always been the best! This is an excellent course and practice facility especially for Junior golfers. I've never played here, and doubt I ever will, which is too bad, because I've heard good things about the course, but can't get anyone here to pay the least bit of attention. I organize a regular weekly game - we have anywhere from 12-20 players and play all over Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura Counties. We've played Moorpark and Tierra Rejada multiple times, but had never played Las Robles Greens and wanted to give it a try. I called 3 or 4 times, explaining that I wanted to make multiple tee times and asking for someone to call me back. I never got a call back so figured, "OK, you win," and figured I could try to book them online. (This wasn't my first choice, since the chance of a non-member getting several consecutive times before early afternoon weren't good if I had to wait until members of the public could make an online reservation. I know you're thinking, "Why should they get special treatment?" The answers is that courses that actually give a sh*t about attracting new business are frequently willing to work with groups that are willing to commit to multiple tee times a year in advance.) So, I go online to establish an account so that I can book some times. It took me 11 tries to establish an account because it kept rejecting passwords ("Must be at least eight characters." "Must have upper and lower case letters." "Must include a number." "Can't have the same letter two times in a row." All of which would be fine if they'd effin' tell you that in advance, but no....) But, I'm finally online and go to book three consecutive times, only to be told after I've booked the first one that I already have a time on that date and can't book more than one time. I thought for a split-second about establishing two more accounts and booking one time for each, but concluded that they'd be taken by the time I managed to set up the new accounts. So, I said to heck with it and ended up going somewhere else with my group. But I'm a responsible guy and thought that the least I could do was cancel the one time that I was able to book but that I wasn't going to use. Well, guess what? You can't cancel your tee time online. So, I've called two times, asking them to cancel it and to confirm that they got my message. Hell will freeze over before I get a call back. I know, TLDR. Bottom line: They treat would-be customers like they're a nuisance that is to be tolerated, at best, and ignored wherever possible. Good luck, guys, when the pandemic is over, people have to go back to work and you've got an open tee sheet. read more
