I also love the Oakes bar and Grill, it has killer food, and it has a great view overlooking number 1 number 10 and number 18. (ladies be warned, they have nothing for you in the pro shop. Los Robles Greens "The Gardens" Venue: Beautiful Venue, But Beware of the Wasps We recently held our high school reunion at this venue, and there were definitely some wonderful things about it. The setting is lovely, the staff was generally very nice, and the food itself was good. We truly appreciated the ambiance and the effort put into the service. However, we had a major and unexpected issue with wasps. Unfortunately, no one warned us that bees might be a problem. During the appetizer hour, wasps were swarming around the charcuterie board and other appetizers, which made it pretty much impossible for our guests to enjoy them. Later on, between 7 and 8 p.m. when we were having dinner, the wasps were still a nuisance, landing on dinner plates and making everyone uncomfortable. While we understand that this is an outdoor venue and some interaction with nature is to be expected, we felt it was something the venue should have informed us about in advance. They did not have any visible measures in place--like fans or netting--to help mitigate the issue, and when we spoke to the staff, they simply told us that it was out of their control. In short, while the venue has a lot of positives, we would caution anyone planning an event here, especially a wedding or a large gathering, to be aware of the potential for wasps. Such a shame that we wasted so much money on the appetizers/charcuterie in general. read more

Hey!! I usually golf here every Sunday in a group of 4 every week. The course is usually well maintained, at least compared to most. On rainy days, the bunkers will want to be avoided (because of how hard/thick they can get) i usually score around 75-85 depending on my putting Trying to beat 75 ;-; . The greens here go from slow to fast quick during the mornings due to the water and whatnot. There is some leniency for mishits but there are certain holes where if you pull extremely hard or slice it like a banana, you're losing your ball to the woods In terms of the restaurant, I think the food is decent but nothing too crazy. I decided to join the arcis golf program at Los Robles which included hitting of the grass all week. Came in a week later and the upper grass range was closed for a month. Those little clowns who work in the pro shop probably laughed at me when I left instead of informing me it would be closed. One of my top public courses in the LA/Ventura area. Very well kept fairways and greens. Rarely have any issues with maintenance or greens and I've played here at least twice a month for two years. Greens are tricky in a challenging way but also run true to the read. Very realistic putting greens to what you'll find on the course. Range is off mats like usual and well kept. Small chipping area Par 70 challenging and fun! Bar/ dinning area is a fun spot too. On occasion you'll be stuck behind a slow group but the Marshall comes around often when he feels like it lol read more

This place was nice! The garden itself was very scenic and magical and looked amazing for a wedding venue! The only issue with the venue I had was that there was a tree right in the middle of where the seats would go so it was hard to see from the back rows. The food was tasty, I was able to try 3 different appetizers that were floating around during the cocktail hour. My favorite was the mini taco bowl, it was like a little Tostitos Scoop chip with beef, cheese and guacamole. Then I had a super fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella skewer and finally we had a warm artichoke dip that was just okay. Entree-wise, the Asian salad with apple and champagne vinaigrette was tasty! Very light. We were served chicken and steak with asparagus and roasted carrots. The chicken was flavorful and tender, I had to switch my steak with someone because the one I got was waaaay too red for my liking. But the seasoning was on point. The veggies were undercooked and a bit hard to chew. There was also an eggplant Parmesan option for vegetarians and I heard raving reviews about it. Not sure if the cake came from the venue, but it was good! The reception area was nice, they had heater lamps which was clutch because it definitely got chilly! The dance floor was a good size. They have a noise ordinance so things couldn't get too loud. It was very spacious, enough room for a bar, photobooth and plenty of room to breathe. The bathrooms were also very clean here too and connect right to the bridal suite which could be good and bad. All in all, lovely place to get married! read more

We had our wedding at The Gardens at LRG and it was absolutely beautiful. The vine wall at the ceremony space is perfectly bloomed in June and made for a stunning backdrop for our ceremony. All of the service staff and bartenders were so attentive and kind to us and all of our guests. LRG is a great venue that takes care of most of the hard work when it comes to planning - catering, bar services, tables, chairs, etc. So many of our guests commented on how good the food was and everyone got plenty to eat. It was such a beautiful evening and we highly recommend LRG to any engaged couple looking for where to have their big day. read more

The outdoor courtyard was beautiful and the way the ceremony was set up it was like a amphitheater. The reception was held in another part of the property and was very spacious. We were served a filet mignon and salmon that was excellent. So good that I had to ask the grooms family if the food was catered from a outside restaurant. Our organization held an awards event for 80 people--including local dignitaries--in the Sunset Ballroom at Los Robles Greens October 23rd. Everything went extremely well. The course is not good enough to pay the $77 they are getting on the weekend. It is fun because of the elevation changes and the greens are better than most public courses. The fairways are just so,so no matter what time of the year you play it. Crab grass. Food is ok and the cart gal comes by several times during the round. Played Los Robles G.C. on Sunday 2/9. The course was in great shape....greens fast and true as always. My only complaint was the restriction of cart path only (for golf carts) when the fairways were firm and had already dried out because the sun had been shining for two days. The pro shop staff, bartender and cart girl were all great. I think the head greenskeeper woke up grumpy....the SuperBowl Sunday pin position on the par three 6th hole was insane....two paces off of the left edge of the green....never seen it there before and I've played the course 1,000 times. read more

Los Robles greens is a great course to play for all golfers even if you are slicing your ball you can't get a bad view. The course is in great shape right now from all the rain we had this past winter. Favorite hole is definitely the last par 3 on the back nine I just love the way it lines up. This review is for the wedding venue. I'm a DJ and don't typically give venues bad reviews. This is mostly because of the sound limitations they have. All DJs are required to use the house system to perform, which at first thought makes it very convenient since I didn't have to carry a large of large speakers. It was fine for cocktail hour and when guests arrived to the reception, but once I turned up the music for dancing, i realized how the music was digitally restricted l. If you just want chill music, it's fine, but I found it too low and had at least 6 or 7 guests asked me to put the volume up while dancing. Besides that, the views are great of the golf course. They had fake grass so that looked green and beautiful. The food was not bad. Parking was easy. Service seemed ok to me. The sound limitation was what earned the low rating. The venue should be honest about the how strict they are. I think they wanted the music to be just background lounge music. read more

It has been pouring rain here for two weeks. We tried to play here a couple of weeks ago but we backed out due to the weather. When we did finally play, we really had an excellent time. My only complaint is the location of the driving range. You need to walk or drive well past the middle of the first fairway so you could hit balls back towards the clubhouse. There is a range closer to the clubhouse that is private where you hit balls the opposite direction toward the other range. Other than that quirky complaint, everything else was wonderful about our experience. The rates are quite competitive. I paid $58 on a Saturday morning for a non-resident. Since the course was so water logged from the rains it was cartpath only, so we decided to walk. I'm in pretty good shape and found the course quite walkable but, yes, I was a bit sore last night. It still beat walking back and forth to the cart path after every shot. The guys we were paired with had a cart and we kept up with them quite easily. It was still a 5-hour round. We barely waited for the group in front of us and did not feel rushed by the group behind us. For a soaked course, it was in amazing condition. The greens were excellent, fast, true and well maintained. The fairways were not very tight and errant shots were easy to find. Lots of oak trees made for some challenging shots. The layout was hilly with some gorgeous sand traps. Some are quite deep and some were quite large with different native plants. Quite picturesque for a public course. I would not hesitate to play here again. read more

Par 70 course off of moorpark road in Thousand Oaks. Can be a little pricy 50-85$ the course is 5-6k yards. The course is challenging with bunkers, Some narrow farrows, you definitely have to strategically your next shit and know where you can't mess. Cart beverages are on hand for all your needs. Greens were nice. The course reminded me of simi hills and knollwood. I definitely will be going back in the future to lower my score it definitely got the best of me. read more

The venue itself was beautiful. I attended a wedding there and it was buffet style, which was delicious short rib and sea bass. Brussel sprouts were fantastic. Overall a wonderful ambiance' and food. However the service was poor. The mother of the groom was running and filling toilet paper in the bathroom, bar and sweet table cleaned up and closed 30 min prior to the wedding ending. Felt rushed out. Upon arrival bathrooms were dirty and still had remanence from the wedding the night before, dirty glasses in the bathroom, and full trash cans. Not to mention the stale smell in the stalls. When asked for assistance was told that it was someone else's problem and was just passed over. I can't imagine the venue is cheap to rent but they need new workers and people who actually care. read more

Where to begin, from the start there were issues with LRG, I received my contract and they tried to charge me $2k more than I was told. They will not let you use outside vendors, I was told I could use my own wedding planner if they were insured, after I was contracted this was denied. For my final payment LRG again tried to charge me $2k more than my contract, I had to catch the error. My details meeting was cancelled 5 minutes before the meeting and I was told someone would reach out to me, I heard nothing. For 3 weeks I spent hours calling LRG and even had 3 people on the phones trying to reach someone. I was 2 weeks out from my wedding and only could reach the pro shop. One week before my wedding I finally made contact and learned they had nothing done, I spent an entire Saturday a week before my wedding on the phone with them giving them all my event information AGAIN because no one had it. No guest count, no food, no floorplan, you name it. The day of was a disaster, our chairs were covered in ants and food, linens were creased all over and stained in massive spots. LRG did not care. We had no champagne in the room that we paid for. They had a tour of the venue (which I did not mind) until the tour was allowed into the bridal suite and restroom while I had minors changing and not clothed. LRG did not care. LRG staff were told over 5 times by various people that bathrooms were out of soap, papertowels and toilet paper, it was never refilled. I was being yelled at about getting to the golf course for photos and told I had 10 minutes. If you do not use their photo vendor they will treat you terribly. During my private vows LRG made my DJ knock on the door to the room 2 times to rush us claiming we could not fall behind schedule because they had another event and the food temperature. I asked for just 5-10 more minutes to exchange vows and was told no. My apps in the bridal suite were freezing cold. When me and my husband got to our table they never served us food like they were supposed to and rushed us for. They served 4 tables before serving us. I paid for wine with dinner and they never offered this to my guests. I PAID $350 EXTRA FOR THIS SERVICE. They limit the volume of the music through their own system, you could not hear our music during the ceremony. I was so nice during the process and even when they ghosted us 3 weeks before the wedding, I never complained. I tried to discuss this with LRG and get this rectified, they have refused and their offer to fix this was a slap in the face. LRG now refuses to communicate and answer. BEWARE, the reviews are not for the same quality venue, service has changed, they only want their preferred vendors, and they do not care, its evident by their lack of communication, even interrupting my vows, and allowing strangers into rooms where women and minors are changing. read more

Senior rates for 55 and older makes for a very good value Cart service is pretty good Pro shop is fairly friendly The Bad: Pin placements can be downright unfair on several of the greens. Greens are usually lighting fast which contributes to the unfairness of the greens. Restaurant food is pretty meh. Cafe service could be better. Location of the driving range is terrible. Practice tees have you hitting looking right into the sun which makes it impossible to see where your ball lands. Driving range is to loosen up your body, but don't plan on getting any productive practice done there. If you want to only get some practice in this probably not the best place for that. They save that for the overpriced Arcos memberships that allow you to practice on the opposite side of the practice range looking away from the sun. read more

Los Robles makes for a beautiful wedding venue! I just recently attended a wedding here & was blown away by the beautiful scenery & wedding accommodations that this place provides. Atmosphere: I loved the scenery here. Between the bright green grass & gorgeous trees & architecture, this place made you feel like you were in your own little world. This venue is perfect for big or small weddings, there is more than enough space here. I loved that the bride & groom were able to have their wedding & reception all in the same place because of how big this area is. Another plus was all of the twinkly lights & heat lamps that were provided for the reception area, it really added to the ambiance. Overall, looks wise this place doesn't disappoint. Food: food was pretty good. For the wedding, the venue provided lemonade & water all prettily laid out & then for the reception, a buffet was provided. The buffet consisted of Italian food which was actually pretty good, my only complaint was that there wasn't anything to season your food with (salt & pepper.) They also provided a cash bar & coffee & desserts. Overall, the reception setup was beautiful & convenient all at the same time. All in all, I very much enjoyed this venue. Old guy at the pro shop, Bruce, is always rude to me. First time I was checking in, he asked any discount, I replied 'resident and senior'. He kept saying I don't look over 55 so I told him Im much older than 55. Second time I was checking in for super twilight, he said I don't look over 55 and then tried to overcharge me by quoting twilight fee. When I told him that's wrong, he acted as he thought my teeth time was before super twilight hour. Third time, he said, 'whoa, that's a lot of discount', so I told him the management is responsible for setting the criteria so if he had a problem to speak to them. Bruce said, 'I just want you to know you're getting a lot of discount and appreciate it'. I spoke with the manager several times but nothing has been doe. I'm an Asian man and I do look older than 55, I hope this isn't racially motivated treatment. read more

Was my first time golfing here and the course was absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately the service was what inclined me to not be coming back anytime soon. My group and I decided to stop by the bar/grille after our round to grab a drink and some snacks and were greeted by one of the rudest ladies I have ever encountered especially at such a nice course! The moment we sat down we were ignored, had eyes rolled at us, and were spoken to in such a condescending manor my jaw dropped and had to leave the bar and sit outside so as to not feel so uncomfortable with this bartender. Was unfortunately not able to get her name but was the older darker haired women who I am told works there frequently. Was so surprised and disappointed with how I was treated. Beware! read more

The 6,137 yards par 70 is long enough to play joyfully with beautiful hill views. Using the GPS monitor on the cart was useful. However, since some carts' GPS was not working, it is better to check the GPS condition before choosing the cart. read more

Usually love this course/amenities; however, the bar/restaurant service unfortunately is usually the same. The same lady who takes all orders at bar whom I forgot to get name of due to the situation does not know service in hospitality. I have never been berated by someone at a course like her lousy service that day. Was golfing with another and 2 spectators and we were greeted with the worst service I've ever received. After stating to us that are also waiting patiently that she has "paying customers to serve" I sat and wondered what I was doing waiting to get a drink. After the whole interaction she went to other paying customers and told them "I think they're special." Unfortunately wish I could say this was the first time the bar/restaurant service was oddly rude. read more

As a planner I work at a lot of venues. It was truly a blessing to work with the Los Robles Green staff. They truly helped flow our event. They made setting up and designing the wedding event easy! It was also a gorgeous venue! Kelsey and Jaime are amazing. They made sure that all of our planning details were included in the event order. Our programs were in sync and it made for a beautiful reception. Employee of the month goes to Ross. He was our captain that night and reception was smooth sailing. Used their Sunset Ballroom for a formal event for 200 people with a dance floor and a sit down dinner. Was wonderful. Food was delicious (chicken and steak). Service was great. We have presentations all through the meal and the servers were not disruptive. It's a beautiful location, we were fortunate enough to be able to take photos in the gorgeous gardens. This course was great. Played a 1pm tee time today after I played Rustic Canyon in the morning. Has some challenging greens and a good combination of narrow and wide fairways. It was also a bit windy, which I am used to being from the SF Bay Area (also made it not as hot and more enjoyable with the nice breeze) the course was also in very good shape. Some tees were definitely not flat and had some over sized divots, but that's understandable considering the times. Definitely check this course out if you are in LA area! read more

Los Robles Greens, conveniently located right off the 101 Ventura Freeway in Thousand Oaks. This golf courses has always eluded me, probably because of its lengthy northern proximity from the Greater Los Angeles area. Every once in a while we would get paired up with random golfers and when golfers talk golf courses, Los Robles Greens comes up with positive feedback. We finally got to conquer this golf course this past August. An 1-1.5 hour commute for us but well worth the drive. We booked a week in advance for an early Friday tee time. Greens fees weren't cheap but aren't expensive as Rustic Canyon with cart prices. Come to think of it, I have never seen some internet deal for this course. The feel I got when I played here was that the locals wanted to keep this place off the grid and be that secret course that the locals would frequent. After playing here, I can't argue why they may be somewhat territorial of it. It's also a little bit cheaper for the residents to play here versus the non-residents like myself. The overall yardage is relatively shorter than normal regulation 18 holes. Black plays only about 6300, while blue plays about 6000 yards. You can almost bet that when a golf course lacks the distance, lurks plenty of other difficulties. Target golf will be the premise of the day. Some sand traps are deep and plentiful especially around the greens. There are some unrelenting fescues and strategically places plants/trees which can easily produce a snowman on your scorecard. We decided to go for it and play the black tips. Probably not a bright idea but it was no doubt challenging. If we were to return, I would recommend playing from the blues. The difficulty of the black tee boxes in how well you can control your driver, not really the distance but if you can keep it straight. Any veering off with produce an almost instant negative result for the next shot. I vaguely recall that the front 9 holes were relatively flat while the back 9 presented some elevation changes. What I really liked about Los Robles Greens was the upkeep and overall maintenance of the golf course. It's well-groomed and manicured while the greens ran smooth but not icy fast. The aesthetically pleasing (green) scenery and well positioned hazards make up a fun but quite challenging golf course. If only we lived closer to this golf course, then would probably find us playing it more often. I would highly recommend checking out Los Robles Greens and giving it a shot. We were impressed with every aspect of the course. Both advanced players and hackers can conquer this course. Although, if you're somewhat new, then I would recommend teeing off from the shorter tee boxes. Be wary of the par 3, 9th hole. The sand traps and fescues are ruthless! Also, pay attention to that view coming up to the 18th green because it is postcard worthy. read more
