What kind of business doesn't allow paying in cash? Never mind the rude girl behind the desk.

My most recent experience was for a neck CT scan. Something I was dreading and really worked up about. Thankfully the staff here were all A+ at helping me navigate something that I was really freaked out by. It starts with the front desk and the man/women duo were friendly, all smiles and instantly gave warmth from the minute I signed in. They didn't know about my nerves but nonetheless they were really nice. The waiting room and back changing area is fine. Nothing specific to write home about but it's clean and they get you in and out so you don't spend much time in those areas. I'd definitely give kudos to the staff for being experts and kind. As I mentioned above the staff running the neck CT scan machine were great. Two gentlemen and I'm sorry I forgot their names (I'm on medical professionals overload - so many nice people too many names to retain). They knew I was scared and they did their best to support me and try to make the process as pleasant / streamline as possible. Even more impressive was when there was an issue post scan they called a doctor right away and got me safely assessed with record speed. It was a lot but solid nice staff make all of the difference.

I want to start by saying that RadNet Rolling Oaks Imaging on Sycamore is a huge upgrade from their…read moreprevious Erringer Road location. The facility is nice, the staff was courteous, communication was excellent, and I was taken back right at my appointment time with absolutely no waiting. I was told my imaging results would be available within 5-7 business days. Today is 8 business days, so I called simply to get a status update. Unfortunately, that's where my positive experience ended. I spoke with a representative named Mary, who had absolutely no patient bedside manner. When I asked when I could expect my results, she simply said the radiologists were behind. I understood that already, that's why I was calling for an update. When I asked if we were talking about another week, two weeks, or even a month, her response was, "I don't know." That is not an acceptable answer for a patient who has an upcoming surgery that depends on this radiology report. I have to stop prescription medications and over-the-counter vitamins based on my surgery schedule, and without these results, I don't know if that surgery can proceed. A little empathy and communication would have gone a long way. Instead of repeatedly saying, "I don't know," it would have been much more helpful to say something like, "I'm sorry for the delay. The radiologists are running behind. I'll flag your concern for follow-up, and please check the patient portal again in a couple of days." Even if she couldn't provide an exact date, showing some compassion would have made all the difference. I understand that healthcare is overwhelmed right now, and delays happen. My frustration isn't with the delay itself, it's with how I was treated when I called for information. If you're having imaging done here, the appointment experience is excellent. Just be aware that your results may take significantly longer than the quoted turnaround time, and if you call for an update, you may not receive any meaningful information.

He has such a close-knit network of fellow physicians that he can call upon whenever a patient needs. Very helpful when second opinions are needed. I have been a patient of Dr. Cohen's for just about 6 years now. I have had just about every abnormal reaction and Dr Cohen has been on top of every situation. His timely responses to me and his after hours efforts to help definitely make a difference in the patients quality of life. It has mine! I am truly grateful for Dr. Cohen and his office staff. He has some of the best staff around too. Dr Cohen and his staff know every patient without having to read your chart every time. Feels like family!! I had an incident (broken ankle) that wasn't Dr Cohens area of expertise but I called him right away and he made sure I was in the best hands for treatment. He even did follow up with me to ensure I was healing overall, not just leaving it to the foot dr. Dr Cohen truly cares about the whole well being of his patients and I recommend him to anyone. I have referred so many of my own contacts to him because he is the best.

Additionally, they were eager to prescribe medication without any proper diagnosis or proof of my condition. The overall attitude of the staff was unprofessional, and the office had an air of arrogance that was off-putting. Maya, a little kindness goes a long way, and to the rest of the office staff--accountability and professionalism matter. I hope to see improvements in the future.

I didn't have much money at the time, and they could've easily turned me away--but they didn't. Instead, they treated me with kindness, respect, and gave me a very reasonable price for my MRI. That kind of compassion is rare in healthcare. They helped me when I really needed it, and I've never forgotten it. For the record--I don't write reviews. Yelp keeps reminding me I have 31 pending, and I'm not doing them. But this one? This place? They deserve it. That's how special they are. Thank you to everyone at Big Oaks. I was referred to them by my doctor and he had nothing but amazing things to say about them. My doctor said it's his favorite radiology lab because they're perfectionists and they always give him their 100% with the X-rays they take and the details they provide. It turns out he was right. When I first called, I spoke to Jessica. She was so helpful, sweet, efficient, and easy to communicate with. She sent me the link of the form to fill out online and gave me an appointment with no hassle and without having to be on the phone for too long. The form was so easy to fill out, and I was also able to upload my ID, insurance, and other information on the form so that they had everything they needed prior to my visit. I wish all offices did this prior to you showing up in the office and having to fill out a bunch of paperwork there, even before Covid. It just seems much more reasonable and organized, and it also saves so much waiting time. When I showed up, Jessica greeted me with a smile and told me it will only take a few minutes. All staff members were wearing masks and they had hand sanitizers everywhere and proper signage. It was perfect. In just a few minutes, Bianca called me in to take my X-rays. She was so sweet, super gentle, and efficient. The whole process of going, waiting, and having the X-rays taken took less than 15 minutes. I was so impressed and happy with my experience. I highly recommend this lab!

I mentioned to her that there were a lot of negative reviews, so I was thankful for her kindness, and she said "Yeah, I can imagine a lot of it comes from walk-in's. And I feel bad they have to wait so long but we're required to take appointments first." It's as simple as this. If you are a walk in, there is 0 guarantee of when they can help you. Make. An. Appointment. It is not hard at all. Google the following "quest appointments". Click the first link, it takes 3 minutes, and will save you all this hassle. Also, keep in mind that the second one patient is done, another can't be called. The blood has to be stored, the space has to be cleaned, etc. If they are laughing and chatting with coworkers like so many of these frustrated comments say, then so be it. All in all. Make an appointment. You have no one but yourself to blame if you walked in expecting a 5 minute wait without an appointment. The nurses very clearly say "We're not sure.
