We have been going here for ten years and raved about the food. It has been our go to: we went tonight and the cheese for the nachos was worse than gas station cheese, it tasted like gas station cheese watered down with vegetable oil. The chips were a lot of crumbs. The shrimp tacos were over cooked and had none of the usual toppings . They were so rubbery that I took one bite, threw the rest away (after having my husband try them and confirm it was really really bad) and made myself a tv dinner. I am very disappointed. There was a TV getting spotty reception of a Spanish station cutting in and out. She got the enchiladas. I ordered the Chimichanga. Food was in front of us swiftly, and I must say, I was surprised. It was really pretty good. We gobbled our fill, grabbed a to-go box, and were out the door for a very reasonable price. There was no meat in there at all and they got the tortillas wrong I ordered flour and they gave me corn. I had driven by this place a few times before, it's right around the corner from my friends house so we decided to walk over on Saturday night and get margaritas to go. The staff was very kind and friendly! The margaritas were ready in a few minutes had 4 tacos de asada and they added free chips and salsa. The salsa with the chips was the spiciest in comparison to all the other options they have available. Chips were crispy and seemed homemade. I am typically critical of chips. Big portions. Rice and Beans were flavorful. The strawberry margarita was too sweet for me but probably a decent sweetness in comparison to other sweet drinks. The atmosphere with thw music playing made me feel nostalgic for my family. I have a big mexican family. However Toritos = bluebottle, a kind of bug. Los, of course, is = the. The Bluebottle. However, in the last analysis, the meaning is "The little Bull." I came here on advice from a friend who told me that they had great menudo here. I went to the bar and ordered carryout. The woman who helped me was nice and smiled and understood English. I got 2 large menudos and 2 #6 combos(Smothered bean burrito and guacamole tostada, rice & beans). He was right about this place! The food was great and I couldnt stop eating it. I tried the guacamole tostada first... I was surprised at how tasty it was, because no one seems to get this right. The burrito was lacking chili but good nonethless. The beans were good and rice had a unique flavor that was pleasant to my tongue. Now, Its hard to find really good menudo and I'm so happy I was directed here. It was made just right, tripe was very tender, not too much hominy, and it was a big portion. The smells and tastes of their food reminded me of my mom's food and that's saying a lot. I will return, and if the food and service I received today continue, they will get 5 stars. One peeve for this trip: The menudo containers didn't fair well on the journey home and because the menudo is so hot, the lids deforms and the menudo spills out if you don't have it level. Car cup holder helped one but it was too late for the other where there was more juice in the plastic bag than in the container by the time I got home. Never go here!! They messed up my order that my boyfriend called in to get. He orders 2 posoles. When I see the food its actually menudo and I personally hate their menudo. So he takes his cup hes cool with it but I'm not. So i come back ti get the pasole I wanted and this rude ass unprofessional twat says she cant trade it cause the receipt isn't in the bag. So i go to get the receipt leaving the food there and i cone back. Then she says she already called her manager before i came back and he said no.( which is a lie) so at this point i don't even want pasole i just want a refund. She says she cant even with receipt because its food. ( guess trying to insinuate that i did something to they nasty ass menudo) so i say may i speak to the manager she says he's busy at another store blah blah.. So I'm standing there awkwardly in awe that as a frequent paying customer u cant get a refund of my hard earned money for shit she fucked up..
