I ordered a lunch chimichanga and it was absolutely disgusting. This is the second time I have ordered a chimichanga lunch and completely unsatisfied and disappointed. I mainly order for the cheese sauce and the last two times ( the brier creek location and this cary location)the cheese sauce has been extremely watered down. I have never had a chimichanga where the consistency of the cheese has been almost like water! I didn't even finish the lunch and its only one chimichanga provided so that should speak volumes. Also , you gave refried beans without asking and nt everyone likes refried beans. I wont be visiting this franchise anymore! San Jose is definitely better choice. I'm still pretty new to the area, and when I had a craving for some Mexican, I came here simply because it was the closest to where I live. The food here is amazing! From salsa with a good kick, smooth and creamy guacamole, superb fajitas, and the rice is the best I've ever had! The servers are always very attentive and friendly, and I enjoy brushing up on my Spanish when I come. The only thing I think they can improve upon is one of their hostesses. The few times I've been there, she's always texting on her phone, and can be rather curt. Still, that doesn't bother me enough to change my five stars on the place. read more

Food is great. Portion is fair. Service is 'okay'... nothing to brag about. I loved coming here because they had great coupons and great food. But as they got more popular, coupons aren't as good. I also brought a coupon from a different restaurant on accident. It also started with Los Tres but I didn't see that the ending started with V instead of M. I even showed my coupon at time of order. When it came time to pay for it, they discovered it wasn't for their restaurant and they didn't take it. I thought that it was poor service on their end to not take it considering I showed it in the beginning and it was an honest overlook by both parties. And it was only to save $5.50. I am never one to post a review about a restaurant, but it would seriously be a crime not to tell anyone about this soup I had yesterday for lunch. The chicken tortilla soup is amazing. I got it to go to eat at my desk and I have never had a better chicken tortilla soup experience ever. The broth was delicious, there is rice and tons of avocado in the soup and the chicken was cooked perfect. It also has a little bit of a kick, but not too much. Seriously, SO so so good. Try it. Plenty of parking which is good because the place is always packed. Lots of seating inside but during rush hour times, forget about it, there will be a wait and the whole party has to be there to be seated. This use to be our "go to" restaurant for good Mexican food. The last several times we have left disappointed with either the food and/or the service. This will be the last time LosTres Magueyes disappoints us! I was hungry for tacos - nothing fancy just tacos! I believe the filling in these tacos was some kind of beef, but we honestly couldn't be sure what is was - besides horrible! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant to eat in North Carolina. Their food is great and the service is FAST! I have zero complaints.

Use to love this place; now it's terrible! Every time I'm in town I come visit but on my recent visit I was completely turned off to the whole establishment. For one we get sat in the back corner where there is no air conditioning and within minutes are sweating like crazy. Then apparently we were sat beside the owner or someone important (dark hair on sides, glasses) who was being waited on by three different waiters while we sat there for about 20 minutes waiting to place our drink order. Then we had to wait another 20 minutes to be able to place our food order. While currently the "head guy" beside us was waited on 9-10 times and fed even though we sat down before him. Very frustrating! Don't forget the people who pay the money for your establishment to stay up and running! Very disappointed won't return. read more

Two of my friends and I ate dinner at this restaurant on 5/3/18. Later that night, I became nauseated. My symptoms worsened the next morning and progressed to nausea and diarrhea. Both of my friends experienced the same symptoms the next da, as well. Almost 24 hours later, I am still nauseated and unable to eat. The doctor presecribed medication to minimize the nausea. When I first contacted the restaurant the next day to speak with the manager and explaining to the employee that I was sick from food eaten there the night before, I was told multiple times to call back later because they were busy. I then asked the employee if he was prioritizing the restaurant being busy over a customer who was sick. The manager then came to the phone, and was defensive about their food having made me sick. I explained to him that my 2 friends were also sick with the same symptoms and would be calling the restaurant at some point. I simply asked that he refund the money for my food. He reluctantly agreed. When I arrived at the restaurant later that day for the reimbursement (with receipt in hand), he scoffed at the amount and said that he would only reimburse for the food which I said was fine. He then told me that if I don't like their food, not come back again. I responded and said that I would never patronize that restaurant again as the service is terrible and the food made me ill. Never did the manager issue an apology or demonstrate any concern for me or my friends. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I have since reported this matter to the Wake County Health Department with respect to the possibility of food borne illness. read more

This place has been our go to Mexican restaurant forever, but sad to say we will not go back. The service was horrible!!! We went on 02/25/17 for dinner, to no surprise the place was packed. We were seated within 20 min, so really wasn't bad. We ordered then waited for to food to come out. There were 4 of us and the food came out in 3 part. My wife and daughter's food came out first, 3-5 minute my son's food came out, and finally another 4 minute later my food was delivered. My wife ordered black bean instead of refried bean and a side of sour cream, she got refried bean and no sour cream. My son ordered taco with no lettuce, well the taco has full of lettuce. I had the big burrito without onion, but end up getting burrito with lots of onion. Needless to say we didn't have a get dinner experience. The bill came and I was charged for the sour cream that we didn't get and point I was done with this place. The story didn't end here. My total bill was $42.43, I left her $3 tip due to poor service, so my bill came out to be $45.43. Yesterday I was checking my account online and saw Los Tres Magueyes charge was $50.43, they have the nerve to change my total!!! I'm currently disputing this total with my bank. You can be sure I'll never go back to this place. Good thing I still have my receipt. read more

I hate the fact I have to leave a terrible review, because this place used to be and my finances favorite place to go. Easily we comes to this place once or twice a week, I take my coworkers and my friends here. But based off today's experience I will no longer be coming back. We got sat by one of our favorite employees, but our "serve" visited our table maybe 3 times and that was just in passing, he was very rushed even though it was dead, so while we were waiting for our drinks to be refilled, our check to be brought to us, the server was sitting on his phone texting away. Our "tableside guac" was just brought to us and slammed down on the table and the "server" walked away. I walked up to the cashier to get our check, and mentioned something about him being on his phone. Easily we tip our servers 20$ and up. But he didn't seem to care, when I asked to see the manager, the "lovely" cashier Mariana shrugged and said he's not here and smiled.. so if you want to pay a good amount of money for shitty service, have your food slammed down in front of you, and a sarcastic response from the cashier, this is your place. We did take out here one night, I ordered the ACP, which is the most basic thing you could order on the menu, and the chicken was sooo over cooked it felt like I was eating a flip flop. It was so chewy I literally could not continue eating it after a couple bites. We also ordered a burrito and it completely fell apart. Worst Mexican food I've ever had. Went there for the first time tonight since we were in Brier Creek. Horrible service. We were there about 5:30pm on Sunday evening. The first thing we noticed was the temperature. It was hot! They had ceiling fans running but they weren't sufficient. It wasn't overly crowded but there was a fairly large party in the back. Apparently our server was theirs as well. To summarize: hair in salsa, ordered table guac - got no chips, ice tea minus the ice (hot), incorrect orders (2 of 3), and even after talking with the manager received horrible service! I have tried repeatedly to fall in love with this place. They have great ingredients in their salsa and with a little extra kick it gets those authentic Mexican flavors. However every time I've gone in and it's been several times, because my friends loved it, there is something that just doesn't work out right whether it's the menu that has items that aren't really on the menu ... ever ... or the customer service where I have to repeatedly ask for items as a single party and I speak Spanish and English. On a whim I decided to get some chips and dip. I always understood queso dip and chips going together but when I arrived I had to pay separately from queso and separately for chips and when I asked the manager I was told that well it's complimentary with a meal but that's only salsa. What about the quesooooo?!?! And the menu did not indicate this. Am I to understand that I'm supposed to eat queso dip with a spoon. I absolutely love Mexican food and this fit the bill, although I came here not expecting to much. First off the menu is pretty large although not super diverse. A whole page of combinations could have been condensed to one line- pick two or three. My mexican meat of choice is carnitas and this simple fact eliminated all of the combos. Based on other reviews about the carnitas I was optimistic. I settled on the carnitas burrito with salsa verde. My overall opinion of my meal was "Mexican food for the American palette 101." My meal fit the bill but overall it left me wanting to head back to my previous life. The carnitas was pork but not the melt in your mouth and yet crispy meat that I was dreaming of. The salsa verde was very very bland and the overall flavor of the dish was the salty cheese on top. So disappointed. Overall I would most certainly not go out of my way to come here again. I wouldn't avoid it. But it is not great Mexican food. read more

It takes a long time for anyone to come to the table, then another 5-10 minutes for them to come back and get your order. Can you believe they are out of tequila?!!!! Came to a Mexican Restaurant and can't have a margarita? They have expensive top shelf which they will charge full price for.... Great food, fast AND cheap. This is a perfect place to go if you are craving Mexican, or decide to go out to dinner last minute. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and clean. Service has always been fast and above average compared to other Mexican restaurants. Their drinks are very fairly priced and made stiff (which of course is a good thing). Very convenient location in brier creek. We have eaten here several times and ordered out, both have ran smoothly.
