This is not your ordinary food truck. The guys know what they're doing. They've taken Mexican food up a notch and given it that culinary touch it so very deserves. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed. I tried the smoked beef bowl and from the moment I took the first bite I was sold. I could taste the Smokey flavor in the beef, but it was not so overpowering that I could not taste all the wonderful flavors of the rice and beans as well as the other toppings in the bowl. I ordered a barria taco and the chilaquelles Verde. After reading all the reviews I couldn't wait to order. I'm sorry to say I was disappointed. The taco was bland with the meat having no flavor what so ever. The chilaquelles eggs were cooked to perfection, and spicy the way I like it. However it was all tortilla chips and hardly any asada meat which I paid extra for. I was looking forward to trying many items on the menu but I'm having second thoughts. I hate to be that person but the prices here are RIDICULOUS!!!! And I'm only speaking about the item we purchased. My daughter whos 11 wanted the taki dori nachos 12.99 so we ordered the carne asada dori nachos and paid. Asked for them without pico and the avocado creama. Then the lady asked if there was meat on them we said yes and then she told us it was an extra $6.00 on top of the $13 we just paid. So for 20 plus dollars you get a bag of Takis with cheese sauce and a lil bit of carne asada HECK NO!!!! They need to specify on the menu prices and what's included or not included. If we had not already paid I would have just cancelled and went to Walmart and bought a party size bag of Takis bought our favorite nacho cheese sauce and picked another protein of choice!!! The food was very good. The food took quite some time to be prepared and there wasn't that much of a line. I recommend more signage in direction on how to order with the tablets on the side. I am younger and found the natural to navigate myself to the tablets. However, there were many confused individuals, not knowing how to order. The ambience was incredible. However, that was not anything to do with this restaurant. I was attending second Saturday in downtown Peoria during Christmas time at the time of this visit. Highly recommend. Food was incredibly overpriced for the quality and quantity. I would recommend many other authentic taco trucks and stops. read more

The food here is always so delicious. If you like spicy definitely get the habanero salsa.

Found this little spot on the side of the street, super cute and love the music! They made my son the cutest little quesadilla even though it wasn't on the menu, greatly appreciated that! I got 3 carne asada tacos on flour tortillas and they were delicious with all the fixings on top! My daughter got the DoriNachos and she's obsessed! Perfect amount of food with choice of meat and toppings. We ordered the strawberry horchata, the presentation was really cute it came with 2 little pan dulces but was kind of thick to drink. Pulled up randomly to the lost burro looking for a place to eat after work with my buddy. Decided to check it out and was absolutely blown away. The owner was working in there, not sure if he always does but he advised us to a few items. The chimmy, the al pastor taco and birria tacos were his recommendations. They are so fairly priced and absolutely flames, could charge way more but for their price u could roll in here and order al a carte all u can eat for under 20 bucks and be blown away. Couldn't recommend more. Make the drive if u aren't close and u dig a food truck and support the food truck mafia! read more

Today this Food truck came to my place of work at Perryville Prison. I ordered three soft shell tacos, I took a bite and the taco was mushy. I immediately walk back to the truck, and ask for a refund. The man asked me why, I told him the reason and he immediately became defensive. His counterpart said I was mouthy and would not refund my money. You and your staff need to work on customer service skills. I was not hostile it was his way of not returning my money. I threw the food in a trash dispenser 15 feet from where their truck was. I'm sure they saw that. HeHe. I called my credit union as I wanted them to stop the charge. They said since I've been a customer of over 30 years they would immediately credit my account for the charge. I would have rather gone through hoops to make sure they didn't receive any money from me, but it's okay I told the gentleman that brought them there not to EVER bring them back. I'm picky about Mexican food because I love to cook authentic foods from Mexico. I thought I would try this place out and...WOW lots of flavor, authentic spices, and love went into making their food. The Lost Burro Food Truck is legit. I've been a couple times now and tried something different each time. It's all really good but the best of the best is the Lost Taco.
