My husband and I stopped in at lunchtime on a Saturday while running errands. I'm pregnant, so unfortunately I wasn't able to sample any of their beer, but my husband has been here multiple times and really enjoys the beer selection. I was really excited to find out that they had their own root beer, so I tried that. It was AMAZING! I loved it so much that I ended up buying a six pack of it to bring home! We selected the soft pretzel, a sandwich, and a spinach/apple/vinagarette salad from their menu. Everything was portioned well and tasty. The cheese for the soft pretzel had a bit of kick, almost like a nacho cheese. I think it would be great if they developed their own beer cheese in the future. There was ample seating available when we arrived and the restaurant was clean and inviting. We would recommend this brewery to other adults looking for local great food and craft beer (or root beer!)

Lost Rhino is a place that has okay beers but nothing really stands out. Honestly, I think the quality of the beers is more of a 3.5 but the great branding and the merch does bring it up to 4 stars. I would think that there would be a "signature" beer but overall the flavors do pale compared to some of its competitors nearby. I would recommend it for a hangout place but try to get a sampler to get an idea of the different types of beers it has.

Great brewery, lots of great choices and an excellent food menu. The Cubano sandwich was fantastic and I would easily order it again. BYOV (Bring Your Own Vinyl) is a fun and nostalgic look back at life through round discs spinning round and round, no equal to that sound.

Lost Rhino is a great brewery in Ashburn, VA. It has a solid lineup of beers, food and entertainment. I like IPAs - FacePlant IPA is my favorite. There are many food choices. The pretzel is a good option. There is usually live music and many pinball machines.

This place is the BEST. I've loved their beer for awhile (I often order it on restaurant menus) but we didn't visit here for the first time until a few months ago. SINCE then, I'm pretty sure we have popped in 5-7 times in about the span of 2 months. This is pretty crazy considering I live over an hour away, sometimes closer to 2 hours with traffic. Did I mention, I will travel for great beer? ;) We had rolled by the parking lot several times, prior to visiting, but never stopped in because it always LOOKED too crowded from the outside. I'm not a fan of not having a place to set your drink down. However, the place inside has more than enough space to spread out with room for everyone. It can get really crowded on the Friday Night / Saturday though, and can get a little rambunctious when lots of the "younger" guests start running around with no supervision. To avoid this, we often visit on a weekday in the afternoon/evening. Not only is the beer incredible, but the game room is our 2nd favorite part. ;) The wide selection of pinball machines changes from time to time, and there's even a pinball league. The games are not overly expensive to play - we bring our own quarters along because we like to play a lot of rounds on the various machines. There is a change machine right in the game room if you forget to bring your own quarters. :) We met the owner/servicer of the machines last weekend. I struck up a conversation with him and he was so gracious and kind. He answered a bunch of my questions and even walked us through a round of multiplayer pinball on his newest machine, Cactus Canyon! :) Needless to say, we are even more hooked then we were before, LOL! We didn't order food this time, but we have tried the nachos in the past and they were amazing. I can't wait to try some more of their delicious options such as the pretzel. They often do special menus for weekend events - we are hoping to catch some of these in the future. Our favorite beers to enjoy in the taproom are Final Glide, Hit the Lip, Meridian Kolsch, and Face Plant - depending on our mood. I usually head for the new release first - and they release new beers often, theres always something new to try. :) I love the chalk art menu board they have at the bar. The bartenders are super nice, friendly, and knowledgable. You can ask for a little sample if you are not sure which one you like. In sum, RUN, do not walk, as soon as you can to Lost Rhino! :) I know we will be back again and again.

Visited this place after some hiking this morning and really enjoyed it. I'm not a true "beer guy", but I do enjoying trying new IPAs. This place did not disappoint. The menu is extremely clear as far as flavor, alcohol content, etc. so that really helps. I had a stout ale and my wife had a pale ale. The staff was very friendly. Place is large, setup with 3 distinct rooms, 1 has a great selection of pinball machines. We then ordered sandwiches, I had the "Rachel" turkey sandwich, really prepared nicely. My wife really the bratwurst. We will be back, maybe on one of the several "theme nights", such as "bring your own vinyl", or "trivia night".

Updating my old review. Lost Rhino has responded well to COVID. They have lots of outdoor seating, including an area with a tent in the parking lot. You can also make an online order for pickup and there are some limited delivery options. See their Square page https://lostrhinoonline.square.site/ Lots of options for the beers. The flagship is the Face Plant IPA coming in at 6.8% ABV. This is an approachable IPA that isn't too much on hops or ABV. This is the Lost Rhino beer you are mostly likely to find at a restaurant, Total Wine, and/or Wegmans. The RhinO'fest is a German Märzen-Style Lager. It's very malty and somewhat sweet. Great Octoberfest time beer. The Tmavy Rhino is a Dark Czech-Style Lager (6.2% ABV). Apparently "tmavý" means "dark" in Czech. I like this beer a lot because it's different. It has the toasty malt flavors that you would expect out of a stout or porter, but it's much lighter. The food is good, not great. Basically solid pub food. Menu here https://www.lostrhino.com/food-menu.html Our favorite is the Lost Rhino Nachos. Chips and BBQ chicken topped with spicy queso, jalapeños, diced tomatoes, and white onions. This pairs well with any of their beers and is plenty enough for 2 people as a shared main or 4 people as a starter. Service has always been good there. Also love that they are located on Red Rum Drive. LOL

Lots of beer and non-beer (with or without alcohol) options available. They have quite a bit of modular seating inside as well as benches outside when the weather is decent. Parking was easy since they're in an office park. They also had some interesting looking bar food (like pretzel nachos) but I did not sample any. I had great service from the bar staff. Would recommend and go again.

The fiancé and I are in the area for the weekend. After looking for a place to hang with friends we settled on this place. I'm glad we were able to check it out! We came on a Friday at 9, there was a few people inside. There's plenty of parking and there were tents outside for outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and happy to answer our questions. You are able to sample the beers if you are not sure what you want. Of course you can get a flight as well. A bonus is there is an arcade section! The food menu seems pretty limit, but I appreciate that they have it. It was a good night with good beer and good company. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a chill spot!

Solid brewery in northern Virginia. It's nice to know there are some craft breweries around town, with Lost Rhino Brewing Company being one of them. While in the DC area I came to check out what was on tap. Lost Rhino had a solid list of different beers, and I managed to find a good IPA, the Face Plant. It was hoppy enough and smooth. I would recommend ordering the Face Plant if you're an IPA fan or try a flight. The space inside wasn't too large, yet was spacious enough for groups to chill. They even serve food here, which was actually pretty good. I really liked the pretzel, which was humongous and served warm with a large side of beer cheese. I'm glad to have checked it out while in the area, as it's a solid brewery. They have a great selection, delicious food and apparel and growlers for sale.

THIS PLACE WAS SO GOOD AND JUST A VIBE. I will definitely be visiting again. I don't know why it took me so long to visit because I've always seen their sign off of route 7 and been curious about this place. They have plenty of outdoor seating and the drinks are superb. I also got the spicy jalapeño wings and was very happy with my purchase. Overall, I enjoyed the ambience and this is a great spot for a summer outdoor gathering. Will definitely recommend for all my friends.

Finally - beer that BF and I liked!!!! We biked here from the W and OD Trail. Well it's not far from the trail, the road here is not good, and drivers are going very fast and honk. I would not recommend biking here. However, despite it being a slow Sunday early afternoon, we had a good time here. Like I said above, the beer was exceptional. There were three or four beers here that I like, which is way more than most the breweries we have been to. We also had some of the chicken nachos as a snack. Well I would've liked a little more salsa, it was very good.

Had a great first time here at Thursday trivia! Our group shared Buffalo dip, and wings. I got a flight with my boyfriend and we had a good selection! Definitely an awesome place to catch up with friends in between trivia rounds and also use your noggin! There's also a cool arcade area and lots of places to sit. I saw outside there are cute bonfire pits that people were sitting next to!

I've been going to breweries in Northern Virginia for over 14 years now and have seen a ton come and go. From Ocelot, to Old Ox, from Adroit Theory to Aslin, Solace, Honor, Route 7, Wheatland Springs, Dominion, Caboose, Crooked Run, Bluemont, Dirt Farm and probably some more. Bottom line - Lark is your average family get together venue, it rivals with Vanish, Dirt Farm and Bear Chase. Tons of room for the fam to run around and play, however - very limited parking space for the amount of seating areas. The service was okay, as someone who has served Beer and Wine for almost 3 years, I totally understand. However the staff was pretty hard to work with. They would stand behind the counter, they don't make eye contact and they don't ask who's next or really know how to engage the customer. They don't seem to be interested in their own beer. At one point there were 7 employees behind the counter while there were 3 -5 people in line. They should have teamed up and taken care of all 3 - 5 people at once. Pro tip: one person can serve multiple people, you don't need 7 people behind the bar. Get them working, you have waaaaay too many employees and barely any of them know what IBU means. For the beer, if you're a person who uses Untappd, I gave the brewery a 3/5. The beers were okay and probably need a lot more time for research. Why is a pilsner extra hoppy? But if you're really looking for a great venue with amazing service and amazing beer? Annnnnd family time? Hit up Wheatland Springs and you will not be disappointed Save yourself some time and money and just go to Ocelot for good beer and for beer and the family go to Wheatland Springs Lark is fairly new to the game but they're pulling the venue vibe card. Ocelot had a wonderful pilsner, served properly. I followed this up with Little Black Book. Can you ever go wrong with a nitro tap beer? The answer is no. So, after two rounds, I was impressed with the beer, definitely better than what I had tasted the previous days. The beertender was attentive, the decor was somewhat eclectic, lots of colored lights strung from the ceiling. Barrels against the wall, as the main beer hall opened up to the production side of the establishment. The pinball room was awesome, wall to wall pinball machines, light flashing, looked like it would really be a happening place at quitting time. All in all it was the best beer experience I had while visiting. Would recommend a stop if you don't want to battle traffic out of IAD at the wrong time of day.

Unfortunately, the experience took a turn when I ordered a pretzel and began eating it. My friend noticed something on the pretzel and pointed out that there was mold on it. I stopped eating immediately and brought it to the waiter's attention. He was understanding, removed the pretzel from my bill, and asked if I would like something else. At that point, however, my confidence in the food had been shaken. After finding mold on something I had already started eating, I no longer felt comfortable ordering anything else because I was concerned about what other issues might be overlooked. I politely declined. The final surprise came when I received the bill. I had added a tip when paying, not realizing that an 18% service charge had already been included. As a result, my $11 drink ended up costing me approximately $18. While I understand that service charges may be part of a brewery's pricing structure, I would have appreciated clearer communication about the charge before adding an additional tip. Overall, while the atmosphere, view, and staff were pleasant, finding mold on my food and then unexpectedly paying significantly more for a single drink left a very disappointing impression.
