Beer here is amazing and the service is great. No food but you can have food brought in. They can give you some good recommendations.

After visiting a two other VA/MD breweries, my expectations were really low on my quest for some good craft beer. Ocelot felt like craft beer the moment we walked in. Dark woods, colored lights stickers, TV playing, music going and the vats for brewing. Walked up and took a seat at the empty bar, arriving minutes after they opened on a Monday. Looked at the tap menu, as well as can for sale. My sister ordered a lemon lime cider and I decided on a Polvo Pils. After that trip to Prague, I will always search out a good pilsner. Ocelot had a wonderful pilsner, served properly. I followed this up with Little Black Book. Can you ever go wrong with a nitro tap beer? The answer is no. So, after two rounds, I was impressed with the beer, definitely better than what I had tasted the previous days. The beertender was attentive, the decor was somewhat eclectic, lots of colored lights strung from the ceiling. Barrels against the wall, as the main beer hall opened up to the production side of the establishment. The pinball room was awesome, wall to wall pinball machines, light flashing, looked like it would really be a happening place at quitting time. All in all it was the best beer experience I had while visiting. Would recommend a stop if you don't want to battle traffic out of IAD at the wrong time of day. read more

This was our first stop on our brewery run. We liked the eclectic decor and the game room. Playing pinball was a ton of fun! Beers were good but in my opinion, I wish they had more variety and allowed 5-6 oz pours. We didn't see any food but saw they sometimes have food trucks there so that's good. Attended a birthday party here with a group of about 15. They reserved a table for our group on a Sunday afternoon which was great. They have a lot of beers on tap and a good amount of seating. They also have a small deck area outside. It seems that there is a food truck on-site as well and you can bring in your own food. read more

We really enjoyed our time at this brewery! Good selection of beers on draft, plus cans to go. There was ample seating indoors, plus a small patio, and a whole side dedicated to pin ball machines and other arcade games. You could easily spend an afternoon here. They had a food truck onsite when we visited, but they do not have a kitchen so check ahead about food if you're hoping to stay for a meal. We tried a couple IPAs, a milk stout, and a Pilsner. Great location for brewery right by the Dulles Airport. So we stopped in before our flight. It's a nice brewery, decorated very cute inside with hanging lights. They have another room dedicated to arcade games. Not my favorite IPAs. They seem more West Coast style. They do have a cute outdoor patio with only four tables so unfortunately, we cannot snag a table outside. read more

Ocelot is a fantastic brewery. Great beer, knowledgable friendly service and a very nice, clean, dog-friendly venue. Definitely five stars on everything above. My only issue was the awful food from the food truck that happened to be there at the time - 4 Guys. My wife and I spent about $40 on two generic chicken nugget sandwiches. Gross. Food trucks usually have a limited menu and everything is solid. 4 Guys had a large menu and it all looked bad. I have had great food at Ocelot from different food trucks in the past. 4 Guys burgers and sandwiches get no stars. If you are a potential customer, avoid 4 Guys. If you are the owner/manager of Ocelot, find a new food truck. We miss Big Frank! read more

I've been coming here since it opened. It started strong and has only improved over time. If you like hazy IPAs, Imperial Stouts, or fruited kettle sours, this is the place for you. They also have some solid barleywines and milk stouts seasonally and several styles I don't prefer but seem popular (lagers, saisons, pilsners, and English ales). Pretty chill vibe most of the time. Dog and kid friendly. Sometimes can get loud and/or crowded, especially on a weekend evening. Always awesome staff and fun 60's through 90's rock/grunge/folk themed trippy decor. read more

The quality of Ocelot beers are outstanding! My favorites were little black book and charlema. The staff were cool and this place attracts fun people to chat with. This is a fun brewery! The kicker for me is that dogs are allowed outside and inside so if you love dogs and beer this is your spot! They have games and lots of tables to sit inside and outside. Beer selection is good and fairly priced. I think the only con is that the food truck is not always there. We went of a Friday night and there wasn't a food truck but they don't mind you ordering food and have it delivered there if you are hungry. read more

This is place is a hole in the wall. If you are a dog owner and love beer go to this brewery. They allow dogs INSIDE and OUTSIDE. We felt so welcomed. There were quite a few pups indoors. Also they have free treats for your pup. They have good selection of IPAs but not so much of light beer. They only had one pilsner & one wheat on the menu. They were both good. We stopped in to support a fund raising opportunity that Ocelot was sponsoring. We didn't know what to expect since the outside was just your basic Northern Virginia business park. Upon entry, the ambiance immediately changed - it was dark, cool, clean, and inviting. Hand drawn art work on the walls and a detailed listing of current craft beers over the bar. Plenty of seating inside and additional seating on the deck outside. Food was provided via a Food Truck, our choice was a Deli truck serving grilled sandwiches and delicious cookies (really Scones). The bartender was attentive snd even made a point of checking in on us (and others) seated throughout the interior. Ocelot is dog and kid friendly. The back part of the interior hosts a variety of Pin Ball machines for additional entertainment. read more

Great large location if want to come with a group and they show movies on their projector. Prices are decent and various size glasses depending on your beer. Ocelot is quite a bit of a drive from my humble abode, but I had a request from a friend in North Carolina to send them some Ocelot. They work in the craft beer industry so I knew if they were requesting it, it must be good! The first time was frustrating. It was their anniversary and I showed up after work not knowing they had just called last call... at 6pm???... and they weren't even selling beer to-go. Hence my frustrations after driving quite a distance. I was able to make that drive another night after work to sample a couple and purchase about six four packs. I enjoyed the beer, especially the hoppy red IPA that wasn't available in cans. I loved the Hope beer that gave back to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children! read more

This is a brewery in a warehouse in a lane of warehouses. They don't have fancy food but you can bring your own or peruse the food truck that happens to grace their presence. The bartenders (beer wizards?) are always super nice. Crowd is never belligerent but always fun. The Grateful Dead inspired psychedelic murals are a nice contrast to the industrial brewing equipment. Dog friendly, and unlike a lot of breweries I've been to in the area, those that bring their dogs here tend to be actually mindful of their dogs behavior and comfort. It's not the most insane selection of beer but it's still large enough to have options. A regular date night for us is grabbing kebabs from a local kebabs shop, taking it here to have dinner with local beer, and then checking out Ocelot's pinball selection. It's always bustling but never overly packed, we always seem to be able to grab a seat or table. Our fave local brewery for sure. read more

Cool thing was you can get a small taster glass for $2-3. And they had horse racing on one of the televisions. But unfortunately, the beer was not much to my liking. I'm not a big fan of IPAs, which is a serious drawback in Northern Virginia. They did have an imperial Stout, but it was ruined by making it French toast like. It had notes of cinnamon and maple syrup. Why would anybody ruin a perfectly lovely imperial stout by making it taste like French toast? Clearly, I am missing something. read more

This is my favorite brewery in all of northern Virginia. For context, I'm an IPA gal. At any given moment, ocelot has at least 3 to 4 IPAs/DIPAs on tap, and the majority of them are usually quite good. The atmosphere also checks all of the ideal brewery boxes: - well-behaved dogs are allowed, inside and out - the place is spacious with plenty of seating - the prices are extremely reasonable ($3 for a 5 oz taster, $5 for a 10 oz pour, and $7 for a full pint) - there is almost always a food truck during normal meal hours, and you can order food to be delivered to the brewery - the bartenders are usually very friendly - you can get cans and growlers to go Not much more to ask for! It is an IPA-heavy beer list though, with the next most common style being stouts/BA stouts. These are the beers I like, so naturally enjoy this brewery. I only wish it were closer to home. read more

I came here on a Sunday Funday to have a few beers. They don't have flights but you can get small tastes as they have a small, medium, and large size which was nice to try multiple. They have pretty high alcohol content in some of them so you can definitely get a buzz from just a few small beers. They have a pretty big and dark main area with tons of funky music references. There is also a back area with a bunch of old games and pinball which was really fun and pretty affordable. The only things I wasn't a fan of is that they allow smoking right on their small patio, as when you sit out there you are literally sitting in someone elses cloud of smoke. read more

Ocelot Brewing Company is a great addition to the craft brew scene that has taking Northern Virginia by storm in the past several years. They specialize in big bold flavors, be it in their IPAs, their stouts or porters, or their sour beers. I'm not usually a huge fan of IPAs, but I actually liked a couple of theirs. OBC is a huge open space, they have personable and knowledgeable staff, are pup friendly and often have live music and a food truck outside. Stopped in here on a late Monday afternoon for an Ale tasting. Was only a couple of other customers on hand when I arrived. I love IPAs, so I was excited to see how many there were to choose from! I chose them all!: California Stars IPA (8.1% ABV) Wonders of Nature Sour Ale (6.6% ABV) Dogs of Doom DIPA (8.1% ABV) Our Elaborate Plans IPA (7.0% ABV) Still Upside Down Pale Ale (6.0% ABV) Elementary Penguin IPA (6.8% ABV) Mountain of Dreams DIPA (8.8% ABV) I enjoyed all of their IPAs, as well as the Sour Ale and the Pale Ale! All the IPAs were full of character, hoppy, and delicious! I met Shawn (one of the brewers) and Melissa, who was working the bar pouring Ales. Really nice folks! Food truck 0 starts Ocelot 3-4. I just don't understand how business do not understand at this point that plant based meats/vegan foods are growing by 260% over the past year! The food truck here is NOT vegan friendly! So the food truck lists a 'vegan dog' first on their menu, however it is only tinny chopped onion & peppers that you paid a $1 extra for on a bun no 'dog' which is super confusing. Upon opening the foil I just thought they forgot it. My husband walked back up and the food truck person was just like nope that's it there is no 'dog' in the vegan version... they later texted that they could refund us, after I had thrown out the sad empty bun. I will not come back here! If you have a vegan option it should be legit or do not bother! read more

Here's a hint: if there's a beer style you **THINK** you don't like, tell the staff. They will take it as a personal challenge and find something in that category you'll enjoy. Such was my experience with my Eric, my beer-educator (and one of the owners). Server is too bland a term; after explaining my dislike of IPAs, he had me sample an assortment of beers until I found a double IPA that - much to my surprise - I really liked. Eric explained its the bitterness that I dislike, not hops per see, so the key was to find an IPA with a low IBU rating - something Ocelot has achieved via various brewing methods. So there you have it - I came for a drink and left with a beer lesson! Ocelot serves 2 ounce samples for $3, pints, and of course growlers. The beer menu is impressive and ever changing. They had 16 (!) beers on tap when I arrived, which is far more than most other breweries, with a really nice assortment of wheat beers, IPAs, saisons, and stouts. I especially enjoyed the wheat and raspberry beers, although the "See The Light" double IPA and "From The Top" IPL (an IPA made with a lager yeast) were good too. As venues go, this one is better than most. It's set in an industrial area, so a GPS might have trouble finding them. But the inside was well done. Ocelot also has periodic food trucks and have delivery menus on hand. They also have a thing for rock music; in fact all the beers are named after songs. If you have an idea for a name, feel free to drop it into their suggestion box. I'm convinced Ocelot's real function is to serve as a massive chemistry lab for the owner's personal beer experimentation, and we patrons are merely their way to pay the bills. October 2018. 3.5 out of 5. We stopped here based on recommendations from Friends. The menu was mainly IPA focused which is not my favorite Style. That being said the offerings were good and there were several enjoyable varieties. The atmosphere was great and I felt like it would be a good place to spend some time enjoying the beer. From what I've heard the varieties change frequently and I look forward to trying more beers from ocelot. read more

First stop of our beer trip of the day. I love how spacious their place is. Not quite sure if they offer a tour. Ocelot is well known for their IPAs, so there wasn't much expectation for me since I'm not a big IPA fan. Well, they did offer some great saison, and I was impressed by that. They don't allow dogs on the inside, but you can take them to the patio. There were some board games and cards that you can play while enjoying their beer -- I guess that's a thing everywhere now. read more

We stopped at this brewery on a whim this evening! It was a pleasant surprise . They offered tons of open seating all socially distanced, the Christmas decor was reminiscent of an old farm house and the vibe was warm and cozy with a 60s psychedelic flair! The beers were really great too . I loved the Peace Train the most out of all the IPAs, the boyfriend enjoyed the 2 Pilsners Dappled and Sunnyside Dweller . While we enjoyed the beer , they did not offer flights which for me was a little disappointing . Instead they offered a 4 dollar pour that was a little bigger than ur standard pour in a flight . Also they didn't appear to have any onsite food or munchies . Great experience overall and enjoyed the vibe . I'll definitely be back ! read more
