I was forced to take a non-direct flight, with an additional connection in Vilnius, Lithuania, and arrived to my destination (Prague) several hours after my spouse. After years of mediocrity, Lot has transformed itself into a real transatlantic player for anyone traveling to Poland and onward in Europe. The Business class with its lie flat beds, the premium economy that I saw behind us was better than Air France's and a whole lot cleaner. The stewards were friendly. The worst airline I've ever flown on. I fly to Poland almost every summer and despite LOT being a direct nonstop option, I'd rather take other airlines with connecting flights. One of their most frequently cited problems were the old planes. Flew on the old 767's as late as summer of 2012 and, while they are now being retired, I still have to comment on them. There was never enough room for carry on baggage, staff had bags stuffed behind the last rows of seats (safe much?). The in-flight entertainment was non-existent, as there were only a few TV monitors in the whole plane, no individual screens, and you never knew how long or how well they would work for, if they worked at all. However, even now, with new planes, I wouldn't fly with them until they resolve their customer service issues. Almost all the flight attendants are relatively unpleasant and some are downright rude. After not hearing a flight attendant's question of whether I wanted a lemon in my tea on a flight last summer and asking him to repeat, the old diva snapped his fingers and asked the passenger next to me to repeat the question to me and told me I'm not the only one who's tired. Well guess what, I'm not the one at work. The food is atrocious, and not adequate for even a small sized human being. Dinner consisted of a bit of potatoes, some mixed vegetables, and a bit of gravy that was supposed to have chicken in it. I only found two and a half mangled cubes of chicken in there. The cold sandwich at the end of the flight? Well, I didn't even bother unwrapping it as it looked like it had much better days behind it. Besides the rounds of dinner and a snack, the flight attendants were not seen for the remainder of the flight. Didn't come around with any water or other beverages. Oh, and alcohol? Not free anymore. Combine the terrible food, with no in flight entertainment, and almost nonexistent service, and there is absolutely no reason to patronize this airline on long-haul flights. I had a very bad experience with LOT the other day. I showed up at the airport on time at 9pm for a 10:30pm departure and they were sneaky and mysterious over telling us about the delay. First, they said that we needed to come back at 1am which was about 4 hours later. I asked them if they could rebook me on a different flight from Warsaw because I was going to miss my connection. They would not do it. They said that I had to arrange that when I got to Warsaw or someone may direct me where to go. That is not the way to handle it. So we showed up at 1am to board at 1:40am. They did not board and they did not make any announcement either. They did not make any announcements to update us until 2:20 when they said that they would get back to us in 20 minutes. I left these idiots at 3am and went home because I had lost all my patience and my trust towards this airline and their employees. I did not want to see another 5 minutes of this airline any more. Not the flight attendants on board or any agents in Warsaw any more. I was very tired and aggravated. The agents had attitude problem and one of them even cursed me out because I asked them to remove my luggage from the airplane. The flight did not leave until 3:40am. The agents did not apologize once for the inconvenience the entire time.They said that we should be glad that they did not cancel. Most horrible experience in the hands of absolutely nazi like flight manager at Sofia Airport. The sadistic demeanor of the the female in charge of the flight who refused to even give us her name was beyond description! We traveled with our small dog everywhere around the world including from JFK to Sofia many times and always with a specially designed soft dog cage but this time we faced a real monster who refused to allow the dog on board because the cage is " too small". No amount of begging to allow the dog with us was enough for this cruel LOT employee. In tears, we left our dog with a friend only to travel back in a week with Austrian Airlines and bring home our beloved pet. We used exactly the same cage. The response from Costumer Service about our complaint was heartless and formal, no word for compensating us for the expenses, the pain and the time lost. Never use this post- communist mockery of a airline. read more

one of the worst company that I've ever traveled with, if you have a n emergency and you want to change your flight you'll end up paying 4 times the real ticket price. and their customer service is awful, that's if you find them there. so don't ever try to use it. you'll regret it. read more
