This has become my Saturday routine since I moved to Astoria not too long ago. Nice and clean bagel shop located not too far from where I live. The people who work there are very nice and process your orders relatively quickly. I usually get an egg and cheese on an everything bagel and it comes out as expected. The bagels are nice and big. The prices are very reasonable too. I'll be coming back here on the regular. read more

Lots O Bagels is a one-stop shop for everything in the morning and a quick snack in the afternoon. It is the only cafe in the area where I can find my favorite Grandpa's cranberry orange muffins. *squee* They have a good variety of bagels you can choose from and they don't spread a chunk load of cream cheese like Dunkin Donuts does. By the way, I strongly discourage getting their fresh squeezed orange juice because their oranges are bitter, there is no pleasure in enjoying it whatsoever and they charge too much for a sandwich. Service is a hit or miss. It's probably a bad idea to come during rush hour because the staff is very slow, especially when there is a line; it's a very tiny shop with probably 2-3 small tables. And the worst thing is that they don't turn on air conditioning, not even a fan. It's a small shop and all those ovens and machines are crammed together so you can imagine breaking a massive sweat - it's worse than being outside. read more

So I actually used to work here many moons ago. It was my first job ever lol I can say they have definitely come a long way since I was there. That's not really including the food because the food was always good. The place itself is larger and a lot more cozier than it used to be and they certainly have added a lot more food to the menu. When I was there, it was just a basic breakfast place. Now they have a bunch of lunch sandwiches and other things they cook. The service is always good as well and the prices are reasonable. Everything bagel is my favorite lol I usually get whatever on one of those bagels. They are obviously made fresh everyday as well. I LOVE this place. Yes, sometimes the lines are very long but they really move fast and sometimes you get the person who doesn't put on as much cream cheese but it's still a GREAT bagel. They have a great cream cheese selection and delicious bagels. I've been coming here for over 10 years. I've seen this place change owners and both times the service has been great. Now that this place has been renovated, I can come here, sit and enjoy my breakfast. The best thing is that the people are so nice and always smile. Their bagels are great and I especially love the different types of cream cheeses. I hate that other reviewers complain about 50 cents etc being raised. This neighborhood is expensive, the rent has gone up, the prices of inventory/supplies is going up. The business owners need to make money, not give out handouts. If they have to raise prices, it's not to make extra profits like big corporations; usually it's a necessity. The main reason I come here is because the people are great, the food is great, and now the sitting area is great! I've been to Bagel Nosh and last time I went they got my order wrong and charged another woman $9 for a simple sandwich. Lots-O-Bagel is cheaper, more friendly and they have better quality food. Recently moved to the neighborhood and decided to check this new spot and ordered a bagel for pick up on my way to work. The lady over the phone was rude and hang up before I finished placing my order. Once I got to the store, it took a while for someone to take care of me, even though all the employees saw me walking in, but they quickly turned their back and went back to what they were doing. Wow. The last time I updated this review was 8 years ago. A lot has changed in that time. I don't eat cinnamon raisin bagels anymore, the store has been through a renovation and looks fantastic, and the service is pretty good. Why though have I barely been here over those 8 years? Because, now, in 2017, they still require a $9 minimum to use cards. In a world were just about every small business uses Square, Apple Pay, or it's equivalent, how are you still holding onto a high minimum for card use? It's not like it's easy to hit. A bagel sandwich and a coffee still won't break that threshold. Unless you're buying a bunch of orders, you're not getting there. Today, after crushing an 8 mile long run, my stomach decided for me that a bagel sandwich was in order. I got off the train, decided I would head to Lots instead of Brooklyn Bagels since they're closer, and boom. The realization that I don't run with cash, and therefore can't come here. Why would I run with cash? I risk paper money getting wet from sweat or spray fountains to cool me down. So instead I walked up to Brooklyn Bagels, gave them my $7 worth of business for my bagel sandwich and a buttered bagel for my wife, and walked past Lots on my way home, wondering why. Is whatever tiny credit card charge they have worth the loss of the $7 I would've spent? Also, please separate the everything/onion bagels from the others! read more

We wanted a quick and nutritious breakfast before we hit up Brooklyn Boulders Queensbridge for a morning of climbing. This place is cheap and on the way to the subway stop, so we got ourselves some bagels and coffee. I'm a huge fan of the bacon and egg breakfast bagel, it's literally ~$5 and on a huuuuuge fresh made bagel! My friend loves the cream cheeses they offer - so many varieties and so fresh! There are so many different types of bagels to choose from, they really try to satisfy their customers - it's evident they do, since the line is always pretty long. It does move fast though. Number of visits: 3 Definitely have been on a rummage to find a real good bagel and I was excited to find Brooklyn Bagel and Coffee Company, but it just didn't quite hit the spot for me. I see a long line and am super excited, really wish it reminded me of childhood, not quite there. I looked to go with my classic favorites which really helps me to shape up my decision on the restaurant typically. I have tried a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese and jelly, everything bagel with sausage egg and cheese, along with the bacon egg and cheese combo as well. Also tried out their blueberry muffin and red velvet muffin, just wasn't too wowed. Sad face, but perhaps I need to get one of their other specialty items on the menu which would be a better pair with the bagel. read more

There is a reason why this place ratings are going down the drain!! I've been going to this place since it opened and it was great, one of the best bagels you could've buy. Not any more!!! Their bagels are getting smaller and smaller, the amount of cream cheese they put on it is less and less. Their regular size bagel is the size of a small one at other places?!? The other day, half of my bagel had no cream cheese at all!! Few days ago I got a Philly cheese on a hero and large French fries. How do you manage to make a Philly tasteless?!?! How is that even possible? Then for about $5 you get literally 20 sticks of FF (see pic). LARGE fries??? At other places, you will get at least double if not 3 time the amount of fries for this price!! The lady that owns this place is very nice and I think she should spend more time on quality control of the food that is being handed out from her place. I know she worked hard to get this place up and running and get it's reputation, so Lady please, work on the quality and the quantity of the food that you are selling, you worked hard for this!! I'm very sorry to see this place go down like this but it is what it is and I gave them lot's of chances!! Honestly enough is enough with this place! I got so irritated today that i just had to write a review as I truly believe this place is so greedy they do not deserve another dollar of business just for that. After many years of closing my eyes to a flaw here or there ( 3 pieces of Turkey bacon per order for literarily $7 or a teaspoon of butter for a whole bagel meanwhile the cost can buy you a whole canister) just because I live down the block and out of convenience this has been my go to place for years weather it be pick up or delivery when I am too lazy to walk. However today i just lost it. After placing an order for 3 plain bagels i called the place to ask to CUT the bagels in half and toast them, to which the girl replied "I'm going to charge you extra, you know we don't cut bagels". Which first of all is a complete lie they literarily always cut bagels for me for free, I mean honestly does that even make sense to charge someone for using a knife lol. I made a promise to myself moving forward I will never come back again just out of principle and take my business somewhere else where they actually respect their customers and value their business. Just cross the street or walk few blocks over Astoria has plenty of bagel shops nothing really mind blowing about this place except average bagels and horrible greedy owners who make them. read more

In the past whenever I ordered 2 eggs with bacon on the side I always received toast. Today after specifically asking for toast the girl says toast doesn't come with the order. HUH??? How do you serve a full breakfast menu and skimp on toast for a customer who orders egg/bacon combo? Absolutely ridiculous. Then I get home to find my eggs were cooked wrong. My boyfriend ordered an iced coffee and a sausage egg and cheese on garlic which I preferred, the garlic bagel was super yummy. The service was good, everyone was friendly. Pros: Great bagels! And awesome creame cheese! The possibilities are endless. All the ladies that work there are always so nice even when their working in such a HOT place! Cons: - don't ever let the Asian guy (I'm assuming he's the owner) make your order. 4 out of 4 times he's forgotten to finish my order, wether it's him leaving my bagel in the toaster or on the counter, when all it takes is 7.2 seconds to smear some cream cheese on it. He's so worried about people walking out on him he'll just make you wait because he knows he already got your money! - make some extra time if you are on your way to work. You'll miss your train beause it's always packed in there. - there's no organization in that place. Overall I go there becase they have my favorite CC, cinnamon walnut! This is the way bagels are supposed to be. Hand-rolled, in a variety of flavors and with any topping your little heart desires. For anyone who is deluded enough to think that by removing the inside of the bagel it will become significantly healthier (that's me!), you can request a scoop job (illegal in 47 states). My whole wheat everything bagel, scooped and toasted, with low fat vegetable cream cheese was heaven after a night of drinking. There are dozens of cream cheese to choose from - all the concoction freshly made by the staff. Yum! The lox spread was chock-full of yummy pieces of fresh lox, balanced out by the perfect amount of cream cheese. De-lish! They toast the bagels to the perfect brown crispness. That's what I should have done, but I decided that I would try them out since they are so close to my apartment and I really wanted a smoothie and a wrap for lunch. Well, not surprisingly BOTH the smoothie and the wrap were not made correctly and also not surprisingly, the employees were extremely rude about it, did not want to fix it and basically told me to f**k off. You have one job. Make the food I order. Take my money. Give me said food. I really don't know what give these people the right to be so mean to their customers. When I'm feeling lazy (and/or probably hungover) and don't want to (can't) walk the 400 steps to the nearest deli, this place is my jam. They close early in the day (by 11am I think), so this place is strictly breakfast. Speedy delivery, hot food, always perfect made to order. They even wrap the coffee in saran to prevent spilling and leakage (because for me, nothing ruins a breakfast sandwich like soaking the bread in coffee). The bagels are good, though not my favorite in the neighborhood, so this would be a 4-star review - totally solid and a definite repeat order (since I've only ordered 30 or 40 times already in the last few years - yeah, I get lazy A LOT). The 5th star comes from my experience with them this past week. When my GrubHub app fritz'd out on me earlier this week and I accidentally put in a pick-up order, they were super accommodating in swapping it out to a delivery, pretty quick in sending it over, AND when it did arrive, the over-easy eggs with bacon and cheddar on a croissant were still hot and messy when it had every right to be dried out and cool. Solid four star four this long-time local bagel spot in my beloved Astoria. Sure it's not fancy like the hipster chain Brooklyn Bagel or the Starbucks hawking all of the new implants, but these guys make solid bagels and breakfasts. Everything from your usual Everything Bagel, Whole Wheat Bagel and to a Cinnamon Walnut bagel is here. They also have a good handful of creams cheese and etc. to have with your bagel as well. I usually stick to my Egg Bagel and Strawberry Cream Cheese which I love. I've been having it for years. I've even bought it packs which such a great deal. I haven't had too many of the sandwiches here, but usually whatever you get here in the morning and when it's fresh it's real good. It's a good bang for your buck compared to a lot of the newer and chains that have popped up in Astoria the last few years. The staff here is super friendly here as well. I'm pretty sure it's Korean-owned and run and they're a sweet gang running the place. But just a quick warning, it can get packed here early in the morning. But the wait isn't too bad. I've never really had any problems. I'd rather go here for my bagels than anywhere else in Astoria. read more

I have been to this bagel store on multiple occasions as it's close to where I live, it's a matter of convenience not quality. I have only purchased egg sandwiches and they are marginal at best. The bacon is always extremely undercooked, which brings me to my experience today. The staff works hard and is cheerful, I was surprised by what happened today. I ordered a bacon and egg on a whole wheat wrap and I asked for the bacon to be cooked, well done. I repeated this twice. The counter girl repeated this to the cook and of course left out the well done part. I dealt with the blatant oversight. The price came to 5.01. I handed her a 10 dollar bill, she then asked if I had a penny. I looked at her with the look of , are you kidding. I did not have a penny, she proceeded to make my change and count out 99 cents. At that point I interjected and said, keep the change. This was not a tip rather this donation was out of annoyance that an employee didn't realize that you "eat" the penny in order to not have to give a customer 99 cents in in change. Hopefully they used my 99 cent donation to draw 1 cent from for other customers in similar circumstances. Finally, I went outside and unwrapped the egg wrap sandwich. The bacon was undercooked to the point that it looked like onions. I then proceeded to throw the entire sandwich in the garbage. This is the last time I will go there. They lost me, not on the undercooked bacon, rather the 1 penny and 99 cents in change. If I were talking to he owner I would tell him "you lost a customer forever, over 1 penny, let your staff know that they should eat the penny." Have a good day read more

This place has ok breakfast sandwiches and bagles. They're honestly below par for NYC. The only reason I ever go is because it's convenient. That alone wouldn't sink them, it's the other factors. They get my order wrong at least 50% of the time and overcharge for everything. For example, it's 50 cents extra for lettuce and then another 50 cents for tomato on a sandwich, which is just as insane as if they charged for mayo. When I get breakfast, the meat on my sandwich seams completely up to chance. I write this in the vain hope that they will improve, and I won't have to walk past a bagel place to go to a better bagel place. read more

One of the most tasteless bagels I have ever tried. I ordered a whole wheat everything with scallion and the same for my husband. They delivered a regular everything and I bit into it before the doorbell rang bringing me the correct order. So I have tried the regular and whole wheat versions of their everything with scallion. Each was tasteless not even as good as key food or lenders bagels. Half the orders in the garbage. The coffee was very good and a walnut chocolate chip thing that was more like a scone than a cookie was amazing. Sad because this means someone knows how to bake at this place. Lots of Bagels has just that - lots of effing bagels! And when you live in Boston and don't get the greatest bagels out there, this place has exactly what I'm missing in good ol' Beantown. My best friend lives within walking distance of LoB, so whenever I'm in the area for a long overdue sleepover, we pretty much expect ordering bagels from here. You can call in advance, which I would suggest doing because the wait can be pretty bad here. But if you plan ahead, you will be rewarded! They do have a credit card minimum, so when purchasing inexpensive (but high quality) bagels, be sure to have some cash on you. You can, however, order online for delivery, so for those of you who only carry a credit card, this may be your best bet. My go to place for a quick breakfast on the way to the train. Not as hipster as Brooklyn Bagel doesn't have free Wifi and a cool seating area like NYC Bagel further north near Ditmars. Just solid, no frills, quality bagels. Be careful the fresh squeezed OJ will surprise you and set you back about $4. Apparently they sell deli sandwiches but I have yet to try one. read more
