This place is about as pleasant as could be…read more Wide selection of liquors, from gin to bourbon. White or brown, special crafts, limited editions, premixed ready to drink cocktails. Seasonal beers and wines galore. I think shopping here could appeal to both introverted and extroverted people. If you opt out of talking to anyone it's very easy to comb through the aisles on your own and take your time making a selection. Or you can come up to any employee for a recommendation. Which I must say- hasn't lead us wrong yet! We asked for budget friendly, easily parable, high alcohol content, and quality, and they've pointed us in the right direction every time. And suffice to say, they've never been pushy or presumptuous? Never hovered. And we've met some cool people here, customers and employees alike. Never a bad time here. It's clean right down to the bathrooms, and there's even a fridge in the back for mixers, chasers, juices, you name it. We'll keep on coming back!

Driving home, as I went by this place, I decided that I could use some relaxation in a bottle. This store is huge and has plenty of parking. I found a good parking spot, and I walked in. I had not been in this location before, so it took a little walking around to get to the area I wanted. As I was searching, an employee of the store asked if I needed any help. Not seeing Buffalo Trace I thought they might be out, but he took me to a huge display. On top of that, it was on sale:) I continued to shop and found they were actually having a sale on lots of brands. I found Elijah Craig Small Batch on sale for nearly half price, so I got that too:) I took my items to check out and was greeted by a very nice lady. After a little conversation, she rang up the purchases and packed them for my travel. Will I return? Most definitely:)

Not sure how updated their inventory is as we were looking for Mama Mango or Mama Pomegranate & the store associate looked it up but said it wasn't in stock. She left & I was in the Moscato section & found the Mama Mango so we snagged a bottle. I had ordered a bottle of Ube Creme Liqueur as my friend texted that it was available so I ordered online for store pickup since I was in the area. I looked at the yummy Sauternes, a lot of which were rated 91+ pts! We have about 3 bottles at home so I just took note. I looked at the other liqueurs like Pistachios, Passion Fruit and the other fruity Moscatos I'd like to try someday. They even had Kosher wines & we were reading some of the labels which had Biblical names & titled. I'm usually buying some Caliveda Pinot Noir which is one of their best sellers. I stock up during the holidays when they have bundle deals. They have such an organized store and even have a Cigar area. They hold tasting classes in the back & upcoming ones will be for wine. We missed the Tequila tasting so we'll check another location. They have great deals as rewards members so sign up!

But it was poor customer service for the rest of us in line, who have been to stores before and were courteous enough to arrive at the checkout counter with ALL the merchandise we intended to purchase already. About three minutes into a game I like to call "8,000 bottles of wine - 1 impressively inefficient cashier on duty", I decided it would be best if I try to frequent businesses who are financially solvent enough to staff two or more cashiers during peak hours. If you're shopping for the big national brands, things like Tito's, Jose Cuervo, Jack Daniels, etc., this is the place to go. Their selection is pretty short, but the prices for what they do have is pretty good. They don't have many tastings here. They just sell for a bit less than a lot of other places around town. But if you like trying something new, this isn't the place to go, unless you've never had Jim Beam before. They have that. They sell some individual drinks as well. I prefer going to Specs down the street, or Total Wine further down 281. The staff is always friendly once you get to the counter. They're not going to come around as opine on the nuances of various grapes or variations of agave plants. They're used to people showing up and knowing what they want out of a discount liquor store.

However being rude to a customer when they…read moreattempt to enter after restrictions have been lifted across most of the state of Texas is not called for. I choose to not wear a mask, it is not required but a private business can elect to restrict their property. When I entered I was rudely asked if I had a mask. When I told the guy no he told me that it is their store policy to wear a mask. While standing at the door I asked if they would be able to shop for me or provide a mask for use or sale he rudely told me nope and I can gladly leave the property. That store only cares for people the care for others. Well it's my right to not wear a mask, it is not legally required but I was willing to work with a local business to help keep them around. As I was pulling out of the parking space I saw another patron turned away rudely for not wearing a mask. I have lived near this local area store for a year and I frequent it when I need to restock on liquor or mixes. I am sad to say that given the rude treatment by the young fellow working the counter tonight I will not be a patron any longer. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. I have spoken several times over the last year to the owner and I will gladly take this up direct with him. I hope this young man learned a lesson about respecting customers and not being rude. If not then he and the owner will suffer but they will have this at least to have some idea of why.
