The location is very easy to get to and with plenty of parking. I walk in and the shop was right there next to the entrance. The menu offers a variety of coffee and since I've always get the usual pandan/ ube/ egg coffee, i've decided to try out whatever that captures my attention as I go thru the menu. I ended up getting the macbrulee coffee and kumquat espresso tonic. I have the intention of trying out their viet coffee, however, (my mistake for not reading the ingredients) both that I picked were espresso base and not viet coffee base :(. Lynn is always friendly and so passionate about her business. I love that she makes her pandan syrup from scratch. You can definitely taste the difference compared to other coffee shops. I ordered two Pandan Coffee $6.75 (price as of April 2026.. $7.46 including tax). One with regular ice and one with less ice. The pandan coffee includes Robusta Vietnamese double espresso serve with fresh pandan juice prepared in-house, coconut milk and whole milk. I loved this drink as it was just the right amount sweet. The pandan flavor was also enough for my liking, and the overall drink was not heavy (sometimes that pandan flavor can be too heavy). We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks, and I'll continue to crave it from time to time. I've been coming here for years and I've always supported the owner. I'm all for her being free, but whenever she's not there. The quality goes down drastically. Ordered the usual ube coffee and it was filled with ice. It only took a few sips to finish the drink. I didn't ask for less ice, I never had to. Oddly the wait in line to order took longer than the time for drinks to be prepared. Lots of interesting seasonal drinks as well as specialty drinks on the menu but ended up getting my go-to viet egg coffee. Loved that it was not too sweet. The black sesame coffee could have whatever sweetness or milk we liked. Both drinks were very good. I opted for 50% sweetness on the black sesame coffee and thought that was the perfect amount. The black sesame flavor was present, although I do wish there was a tad bit more black sesame depth, and the coffee itself was very nice. Deep and real rich coffee flavor. The banana in the banana matcha indeed tasted real and not like the fake syrup at all. No cream top so it didn't feel too heavy which I enjoyed. There was a steady flow of curious customers at AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel). However, there was almost no line. My order took two minutes and 56 seconds. Very fast!! As mentioned, I enjoyed the Ube Coffee ($6.50 - iced - whole milk). It's functional and flavorful. Prior to stirring, I was taken aback by its potent, powerful coffee. It carried a dark roasted punch. However, this drink suddenly became special once thoroughly mixed. My eyes widened as that powerful brew transformed into the flavors of a fresh ube cake. It was not bitter nor overly sweet; rather, it tasted decadent. Shockingly, AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) is located near a wonderful study/work location. It's adjacent to the stairs headed to the Blossom Market's study hall. Customers are seconds away. This upstairs study hall has internet with password; the details are hanging on the wall. There's over 11 tables, plentiful electrical sockets for charging devices, and a gender neutral restroom. There's even additional restrooms on the ground floor. Since the study hall rests above the Blossom Market's sound system, the music is also softened considerably. The location felt clean and well-ventilated. There's also two trash cans nearby. AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) is located perfectly in the Blossom Market Hall. Overall, AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) offers spectacular, unique coffee. My family and I came here during the San Gabriel farmers market. This location is located in the Blossom Market Hall. I'm allergic to dairy and eggs and the owner was really nice and patient has she check to make sure the matcha and Hojicha did not have milk powder in it. My family ordered the iced black sesame coffee, hot Vietnamese coffee, Thai iced coffee, and pandan mochi cake. I had the Hojicha latte with oat milk. I'm so happy they don't charge for milk substitutes because half my family are lactose intolerant and it's not fair that most places charge. My family liked their drinks and the cake. She's super sweet and happy to give recommendations. This week (7/10/26-7/17/26), they have a summer BOGO special, so I ordered their seasonal matcha breeze (matcha with lychee and calamansi syrups, I think) and their strawberry coffee. Both drinks were delicious, and the fruit flavors tasted authentic and fresh. Given that I've always wanted to try the strawberry coffee but was apprehensive about how it would taste, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the flavor profiles mesh well together. 10/3/25 Friday Stopped by in the late afternoon for a pick me up. We ordered three drinks. 9/10 Mango Sticky Rice Matcha: a little expensive for the size but very delicious. AK Fresh Roast has quickly become a favorite. Even though we live 40 minutes away, we keep finding ourselves coming back because the coffee is just that good. Strong brew, strong flavors, no messing around. I've been working my way through their menu and loving every cup. So far, I've tried the egg coffee, pandan, and strawberry, but my husband has stayed loyal to his one true love: the ube coffee. Honestly, I get it. Next time, I'm sticking with the ube too. You really can't go wrong. We also tried the strawberry coconut latte and my kid devoured it. Service is always warm and welcoming. I believe it's family-run? It's usually the same sweet auntie in the stall and she's an absolute gem. It's located inside a food hall which is perfect because you can grab your coffee here and pick up food next door. Plus there's plenty of free parking in the lot. Win-win. AK Fresh Roast is a little hidden gem that's absolutely worth discovering. Don't sleep on the ube! read more

This coffee shop is quite small and is located inside Blossom Market Food Hall. Parking was pretty easy since they have a pretty spacious parking lot but it might be hard to find parking during the weekend! This spot is pretty popular! I went on a Saturday morning at 8am and there was already a line! However, the line moved pretty fast and the wait for my drink only took 10 minutes! Service was very friendly and welcoming Menu had a good variety of coffee drinks and pricing was reasonable ($6+). The Ube Coffee ($6.50) - requested it 1/2 sweet with oat milk and iced - the Ube foam was very thick in consistency so I had to stir it a lot to mix it with the coffee. The coffee was very strong and tasted very good! The Ube flavor was very subtle and I couldn't taste it at all. This was pretty good but I was expecting to taste the ube more so this was 8/10. I appreciate how there isn't an extra charge for milk substitutions but keep in mind that the ube foam has dairy (for those who have lactose intolerance!) The Pandan Mochi ($4) was a little pricey but it was very soft, fresh, and delicious! I really enjoyed how it wasn't too sweet. This was 7/10 I won't go out of my way to return but I would return if I'm in the area! read more

Whenever I'm at Blossom Market Hall, I usually make a stop at AK Fresh Roast if the line is not exceedingly long. They offer a wide selection of flavors and options, and I appreciate that you can customize your order (e.g. ask for less ice). My main reason for trying this place was for its Vietnamese coffee, and I always get it when I visit. It's a strong brew with a good amount of sweetness, and my only regret is that I have not tried other items off their menu! read more
