Lotus & Bean (formerly, AK fresh roast) is my go to spot for coffee in the SGV. It's dangerously close to my office (about 3 miles) so I'm usually here once a week. My go to order is their pandan coffee with oat milk 75% sweetness. If I'm in the mood for something sweet, I'll add a slice of the pandan mochi (or go to Baking with Ish). Lynn is always friendly and so passionate about her business. I love that she makes her pandan syrup from scratch. You can definitely taste the difference compared to other coffee shops. Want a Matcha or coffee? This is the best coffee and Matcha place we had found. My daughter loves Matcha and her dad loves Coffee. She tried their Banana Matcha and is so good! I tried their Matcha Pandan Bliss. I love the taste because i can really drink out of the really Pandan in the drink and not syrup. Their price is a very fair and worth of trying yourself! I happened to meet the owner there and asked her what makes your Matcha so special and she said she used the finest Premium Organic Matcha in her drinks so customers can taste the difference of the real quality ingredients in the drink. I ordered two Pandan Coffee $6.75 (price as of April 2026.. $7.46 including tax). One with regular ice and one with less ice. The pandan coffee includes Robusta Vietnamese double espresso serve with fresh pandan juice prepared in-house, coconut milk and whole milk. I loved this drink as it was just the right amount sweet. The pandan flavor was also enough for my liking, and the overall drink was not heavy (sometimes that pandan flavor can be too heavy). We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks, and I'll continue to crave it from time to time. Oddly the wait in line to order took longer than the time for drinks to be prepared. Lots of interesting seasonal drinks as well as specialty drinks on the menu but ended up getting my go-to viet egg coffee. Loved that it was not too sweet. My family and I came here during the San Gabriel farmers market. This location is located in the Blossom Market Hall. I'm allergic to dairy and eggs and the owner was really nice and patient has she check to make sure the matcha and Hojicha did not have milk powder in it. My family ordered the iced black sesame coffee, hot Vietnamese coffee, Thai iced coffee, and pandan mochi cake. I had the Hojicha latte with oat milk. It carried a dark roasted punch. However, this drink suddenly became special once thoroughly mixed. My eyes widened as that powerful brew transformed into the flavors of a fresh ube cake. It was not bitter nor overly sweet; rather, it tasted decadent. Shockingly, AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) is located near a wonderful study/work location. It's adjacent to the stairs headed to the Blossom Market's study hall. Customers are seconds away. This upstairs study hall has internet with password; the details are hanging on the wall. There's over 11 tables, plentiful electrical sockets for charging devices, and a gender neutral restroom. There's even additional restrooms on the ground floor. Since the study hall rests above the Blossom Market's sound system, the music is also softened considerably. The location felt clean and well-ventilated. There's also two trash cans nearby. AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) is located perfectly in the Blossom Market Hall. Overall, AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) offers spectacular, unique coffee. 10/3/25 Friday Stopped by in the late afternoon for a pick me up. We ordered three drinks. 9/10 Mango Sticky Rice Matcha: a little expensive for the size but very delicious. The mango isn't overpowering. It was creamy and smooth. Could taste the matcha but it wasn't very pronounced. I would've liked the matcha to be a little stronger. 8/10 Pandan Coffee: The pandan was subtle and the cream coagulated into little bits so the texture was a little weird but the coffee taste was strong . 9/10 Ube Coffee: the cream was super addicting and the coffee is strong (which I like). However, it was a bit tough to mix. 8/10 Pandan Cake (Banh Bo Nuong): The edges were dry but the center was good. Pretty similar to the ones I get at other Vietnamese shops. Whenever I'm at Blossom Market Hall, I usually make a stop at AK Fresh Roast if the line is not exceedingly long. They offer a wide selection of flavors and options, and I appreciate that you can customize your order (e.g. ask for less ice). My main reason for trying this place was for its Vietnamese coffee, and I always get it when I visit. It's a strong brew with a good amount of sweetness, and my only regret is that I have not tried other items off their menu! read more

I love AK Fresh Roast so much, even when they rotate out the drinks I love! Their hojicha always slaps. This season I've been getting their pandan hojicha with oatmilk and it's a perfect balance of sweet and floral and nutty. I also recently got their double matcha, which comes in a smaller size and rivaled all the trendy ktown matcha cafes! The staff are always great. AK Fresh Roast are always consistent with their excellent customer service and delicious drinks. AK Fresh Roast never disappoints. The Ube Coffee and Pandan Latte is my favorite. Lotus & Bean is a small drink shop located in the Blossom Market Hall. It has a menu selection to die for, with absolutely amazing and unique Southeast Asian-influenced flavor combinations that use ingredients like matcha, pandan, banana, ube, and coconut. We ordered a pandan coffee, an Eric's specialty (pandan, coconut, strawberry), and a matcha coconut latte. Every single one was DELICIOUS. Not too sweet either, and a good size. I found myself eyeballing the variety of bites they also had on their menu, like their croffles and cookies. Service was very welcoming and excellent, felt a lot more personable than big chain drink shops which I appreciated. Parking was easy to find on the street, there's also a lot across the street if you can't find a spot right outside. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Coffee fix adventure continues: I came to AK Fresh Roast on Friday before lunch to try their Pandan Coffee. Also ordered their Pandan Mochi (yum!). The owner was very sweet, I was asking which coffees can be made less sweet and she named the pandan, ube, and brulee...but she asked which one I was eyeing and I stated the pandan and ube. She mentioned how their pandan is made in-house and takes over 6 hours to make, so I was tempted to try. She did warn me that their coffee is strong & she told no lie! I split half a cup on Friday with my husband, and saved the second half for Saturday (even added more ice the next day). Very strong coffee flavor, but the pandan was good. A bit sweet, but I feel like I would need it for how strong the coffee is. The mochi came with a note to heat for 30 seconds and was very good. Not too sweet, perfectly moist. Will be back to try other coffees if I'm able to find a day to split/save it... read more
