This spot was highly recommended by Jalin iykyk. There were so many drinks I wanted to try. I end up getting the banana coffee and it did not disappoint! They use real banana instead of the artificial flavoring. The coffee was perfectly sweet and strong! Service was quick and efficient. There's a parking lot in the back, which is a plus. Would come back. :)
Lotus & Bean, a Vietnamese coffee and Southeast Asian drink shop inside Blossom Market Hall, has been a vendor since 2021, previously known as AK Fresh Roast. They offer Southeast Asian-inspired drinks like Pandan coffee, Ube coffee, Vietnamese coffee, and Banana Coffee. The staff were very helpful and friendly, making good recommendations, though they were out of some popular items, especially anything with pandan. Since we were looking for a caffeine-free option for our son, we tried the Strawberry Coconut Latte, made with organic strawberry puree, strawberry milk, and coconut milk, which was a delicious choice that everyone enjoyed. There is seating near the counter, with additional seating upstairs, making it a great spot for studying or meetings. I recommend checking out this cool spot in San Gabriel and we will definitely be back!

My husband and I visited Lotus & Bean (previously AK Fresh Roast) for the first time in person on Sat. April 11th at around 10:30 AM. The shop is located in the Blossom Market Hall. I ordered two Pandan Coffee $6.75 (price as of April 2026.. $7.46 including tax). One with regular ice and one with less ice. The pandan coffee includes Robusta Vietnamese double espresso serve with fresh pandan juice prepared in-house, coconut milk and whole milk. I loved this drink as it was just the right amount sweet. The pandan flavor was also enough for my liking, and the overall drink was not heavy (sometimes that pandan flavor can be too heavy). We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks, and I'll continue to crave it from time to time. The line was suUuper long that went straight to the restroom so I opted to order online, which I highly recommend. lotus-and-bean.square.site Though, I did want to mention that although I placed my mobile order, the order took longer to receive and pick up when compared to the estimated time. I gave it some extra time before I went up to the counter, but had to wait maybe another 10 minutes longer before I received my order. If you're in a rush, please consider ordering with sufficient time in advance through mobile order. The funny thing is, I actually got my "Your order from LOTUS & BEAN is ready" email at a comical 1:14 PM. Customer Service: Not as much interaction, the staff member who helped me was friendly Overall, I'm giving this experience a full 5 star review for my love of the pandan drink. Otherwise, the drink getting experience probably would have made this a 4. Anyways, I'll be sure to come back to satisfy my next pandan coffee craving!

Here, the beverage menu spans from the usual suspects to over-the-top lattes featuring ube, pandan, corn, and more. The shop maintains a strong social media presence, but has received little press; nonetheless, the mob around the stall every weekend morning speaks for itself. L&B has a stall in the Blossom Market Hall. Briefly, this premium San Gabriel food hall (opened in a former Masonic lodge) hosts two rooms of fast casual food and beverages, broadly with a pan-Asian bent. The rainbow mosaic mural in the main room is almost pretty enough to make you forget the weak AC. Chatter for customers overwhelms the pop playlist. L&B is right up front, in the accessory room. The miniature pastry case is stocked with cookies and croffles. The menu is displayed on flat screens behind the counter, while seasonal drinks are featured against the faux-foliage wall to the right. Across the expansive menu, my go-to drink is the Pandan Coffee. The coffee is strong, and the pandan-forward flavor is indulgent without feeling unnecessarily sweet. Other solid choices are the fresh Banana Coffee and toasty Black Sesame Coffee. Any of the beverages can be decked with a cream top; my favorite is the sweet-and-savory Black Sesame Cream, but the smoky Creme Brulee Cream with intermittent sugar crisps is a strong option, too. The service is efficient, but the queue may still take 30 minutes if you don't order ahead. The coffees run $6-7, before accounting for add-ons. While the price is no laughing matter, neither are the drinks -- my fiancee and I agree that they are the best Vietnamese lattes in the area, always fun but never sacrificing flavor or quality.
Probably the only drink place I'd splurge on. Recently made a visit to Lotus and Bean (formerly AK Fresh Roast) for their new seasonal menu. They have a matcha pandan latte in their new lineup, and it's so delicious! The pandan did not have a bitter aftertaste and I enjoyed my drink. I really do hope they make this one permanent. Other drink I've tried and liked - Viet coffee, any of their flavored foam drinks, and the Pandan tea. The last one hits when it's a hot day.
Lotus & Bean is located inside Blossom Market Food Hall. If you enter from the front, they are the first shop once you entered the food hall. So far I've tried Egg Coffee and Brown Sugar Shaken Latte. To me, these have strong flavor, not on the light side. I have yet to try their baked goods. I'd love to try Black Sesame Coffee next time. If you're looking for unique flavors, check them out!

The location is not issues with seating as there's plenty in the food hall. The staff were friendly and chatty let us take our time browsing the menu. Ultimately, we settled on the Hojicha Latte and the Black Sesame Latte both of them with oat milk. The service was super quick, the drinks were done in 2-3 minutes. Both the drinks are comparable to other spots we have tried in the past in terms of flavors of the Hojicha and Black Sesame. I'm a big fan of Black Sesame in drinks. I love the roasted flavors and overall amount of sweetness with the milk. The drinks looked great and tasted great. I noticed they have a lot of seasonal drink options and many specialty drinks to order. Lotus & Bean is a solid option to get some coffee and teas if you find yourself in Blossom Market Hall. ( ^_^)b
I've been here numerous times now, and I am surprised I have not yet written a review for this spot. Located inside the Blossom Market Food Hall in the back corner or front corner (depending on where you enter), this speciality shop combines the amazing asian flavors of so many cultures into a little shop. Whether you want Thai coffee or Vietnamese coffee, or even a mixture, you can find it. Definitely a gem and well worth the wait this spot may sometimes have.
This is a 2 person show running the cafe within Blossom Hall, with 1 person taking the order and the other preparing the drinks. Located right at the main entrance but plenty of seating. Oddly the wait in line to order took longer than the time for drinks to be prepared. Lots of interesting seasonal drinks as well as specialty drinks on the menu but ended up getting my go-to viet egg coffee. Loved that it was not too sweet. Coffee was smooth but didn't taste that strong compared to other viet places I've been to so it didn't need that much ice to dilute it. $6.50 for viet coffee is as affordable as it'll get but wish there was just a little less ice because I finished the drink so fast lol

If I could give Lotus & Bean 10 stars, I would. Not to be dramatic, but their Banana latte truly changed my relationship with coffee, and I've loved every single other coffee I've tried since then. There was a month long stretch where I'd HAVE to have their banana coffee every week. Since then, I've tried their Black Sesame, Ube, Pandan, and Strawberry coffees and loved them all! Lynn who I see there often is so sweet & service is so quick! I love grabbing a coffee & heading upstairs to get work done! I will be back again so soon! read more

Lotus & Bean (formerly, AK fresh roast) is my go to spot for coffee in the SGV. It's dangerously close to my office (about 3 miles) so I'm usually here once a week. My go to order is their pandan coffee with oat milk 75% sweetness. If I'm in the mood for something sweet, I'll add a slice of the pandan mochi (or go to Baking with Ish). Lynn is always friendly and so passionate about her business. I love that she makes her pandan syrup from scratch. You can definitely taste the difference compared to other coffee shops. Her pandan coffee is very fresh and strong, it always helps me stay awake. I will always support and tell people about Lotus & Bean! read more

Want a Matcha or coffee? This is the best coffee and Matcha place we had found. My daughter loves Matcha and her dad loves Coffee. She tried their Banana Matcha and is so good! I tried their Matcha Pandan Bliss. I love the taste because i can really drink out of the really Pandan in the drink and not syrup. Their price is a very fair and worth of trying yourself! I happened to meet the owner there and asked her what makes your Matcha so special and she said she used the finest Premium Organic Matcha in her drinks so customers can taste the difference of the real quality ingredients in the drink. I hardly see out there any coffee or tea shop put so much thoughts for their drinks. This owner really cares not just her business but the quality she puts in the ingredients in her drinks! Their Strawberry Coffee is very delicious too with the little kicks of fruits inside and gives a cool tasteful strawberry favor! Dont believe in me! Go try it yourself and definitely you will give a 5 stars! Not only that , it was a long line but they service very fast ! I love it! We come here when we go visit my mom in San Gabriel! Strong hojicha flavor for their hojicha lattes. Many places I've tried is more milk than hojicha so this was pleasant. I will be back for this! My friend enjoyed her strawberry pandan refresher The pandan with mango cookie I would skip in the future. It mostly tasted like butter read more

Love avocado anything so tried the avocoffe. Avocoffee is good. Its really thick so i recommend using a straw. The pandan matcha was okay. Not sure if i liked it or not. It tasted more matcha with a subtle pandan flavor. read more

Upon entry to the beautifully acclaimed Blossom Market Hall (BMH) located at San Gabriel Mission District, at the front entrance to our right, is Lotus & Bean (formerly AK Fresh Roast). I am not a big coffee drinker, but I do love pandan flavor drinks. Free parking behind the food hall. Seating inside and at outside patio. Friendly staff was ready to take our order. Per the young gentleman staff's recommendation, Pandan Coffee is a crowd favorite so that's what I got. My eldest daughter took a bit longer to order as she was undecided. She ended up with the Vietnamese Coffee. Both drinks with easy ice. Prices were reasonable. It took about 5 minutes for our drinks to be ready. Thank you! Pandan Coffee - Love the brown coffee on top and green pandan at bottom display! Before drinking, it's best to stir it fully so you have a good balance of coffee and pandan intertwined. Sweetness of pandan and nuttiness of coffee worked very well together. Smooth and delightful drink! I would order this again. Vietnamese Coffee - Unfortunately, this drink was on the bitter side and it tasted slightly watered down. Both my daughter and I were disappointed. We're used to Lee's Vietnamese Iced Coffee and this wasn't even close. I won't order this again. Nevertheless, when you're at BMH, do swing on by Lotus & Bean to try their unique specialty coffee, tea, juice, and smoothie drinks. We'll still come back and see what other drinks may entice us. read more
Parking isn't too bad. The shop is right at the main entrance of the main street so pretty easy to find! Menu is straight forward with nice unique drinks. I got the black sesame latte which had a nice black sesame foam flavor and a strong coffee favorite. My mom got the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha- the matcha itself was super mid but the foam had a good mango flavor. I would definitely go for the black sesame next time instead or their non-matcha drinks. read more
Tasty spot for coffee in Blossom Market Hall with some fun, unique flavors and themes. We tried a Mango Sticky Rice Latte (iced) and a Coconut Coffee (hot) - loved them both! The coffee is smooth and mild and the milk is thick and creamy. Both drinks had great flavor balances for their themes (mango and coconut). I LOVED the mango cream and sticky rice cream on top of my latte - excellent flavors and textures! They have matcha drinks and caffeine free drinks as well, along with trendy Vietnamese coffees (their specialty), egg coffees, and a fun seasonal menu. They have some sweet treats on their menu like croffles and cookies and even pandan mochi. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Prices are on par for the area for the specialty drinks and very reasonable for other lattes and items. Lotus & Bean (formerly called AK Fresh Roast) is towards the back of the market hall and there's plenty of free parking on site. The vibe in the market is lively and inviting - with lots of seating options to enjoy your drinks. Loved our drinks and will definitely be sure to grab a coffee anytime I visit the market. read more
My family and I came here during the San Gabriel farmers market. This location is located in the Blossom Market Hall. I'm allergic to dairy and eggs and the owner was really nice and patient has she check to make sure the matcha and Hojicha did not have milk powder in it. My family ordered the iced black sesame coffee, hot Vietnamese coffee, Thai iced coffee, and pandan mochi cake. I had the Hojicha latte with oat milk. I'm so happy they don't charge for milk substitutes because half my family are lactose intolerant and it's not fair that most places charge. My family liked their drinks and the cake. I thought my Hojicha latte was really good. I'm a fan of this spot. read more
One of my favorites in the SG area for coffee. Lotus & Bean (formerly AK Roast) is inside the Blossom Market Hall. They have delicious flavor options/combos that are unique and honor Asian flavors. Service is always friendly. They are happy to answer questions. I will say on busier times there is a line but be patient, this is a small business with usually only one or two people behind the counter. It's worth the wait. If I'm not in a coffee mood I love their matcha drinks. The mango sticky rice matcha is a go to for me. Today I got the iced red bed bean coconut latte. I enjoyed the red bean and the nutty coconut coming through the cream top. My wife got a macbrulee latte. It's a macadamia nut flavored latte with a brûlée top. They actually take a torch and give it a brûlée. So good! Grab one of their sweet treats while you're there. read more

AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) is spectacular. I ordered the Ube Coffee ($6.50 - iced - whole milk). The initial sip is underwhelming, but the magic occurs when stirred thoroughly. This coffee transforms into a luxurious ube cake. In a moment, its punchy caffeine became a decadent dessert drink. "Oh, wow!!" I arrived at AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) on Friday (around 12:44PM). Parking is easy. There's a spacious, large public parking lot. Other than no overnight parking (2AM to 6AM), there's no time restraints. AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) is located inside the popular, bustling Blossom Market Hall. At my arrival, staff consisted of an elderly lady and a younger woman. The older staff member was very charismatic, charming, and a lovely communicator. The younger staff member was awkward and curt. The older staff member enthusiastically explained their "Rainy Day Special - 15% off specialty coffee." She shared lovely recommendations. And she carried a bright smile. There was a steady flow of curious customers at AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel). However, there was almost no line. My order took two minutes and 56 seconds. Very fast!! As mentioned, I enjoyed the Ube Coffee ($6.50 - iced - whole milk). It's functional and flavorful. Prior to stirring, I was taken aback by its potent, powerful coffee. It carried a dark roasted punch. However, this drink suddenly became special once thoroughly mixed. My eyes widened as that powerful brew transformed into the flavors of a fresh ube cake. It was not bitter nor overly sweet; rather, it tasted decadent. Shockingly, AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) is located near a wonderful study/work location. It's adjacent to the stairs headed to the Blossom Market's study hall. Customers are seconds away. This upstairs study hall has internet with password; the details are hanging on the wall. There's over 11 tables, plentiful electrical sockets for charging devices, and a gender neutral restroom. There's even additional restrooms on the ground floor. Since the study hall rests above the Blossom Market's sound system, the music is also softened considerably. The location felt clean and well-ventilated. There's also two trash cans nearby. AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) is located perfectly in the Blossom Market Hall. Overall, AK Fresh Roast (San Gabriel) offers spectacular, unique coffee. What a pleasant surprise to find this place. I've never seen such a large selection of flavors like the ones Lotus & Bean offers. I wasn't feeling too adventurous so I ordered their version of crème brûlée coffee and a Thai coffee. The coffee was strong, which I really liked. My favorite was the Thai coffee. The staff were friendly and service was fast. I would definitely come back to try other options. read more

I ordered the following: - Pandan Coffee 5/5 Vietnamese double espresso served with fresh pandan with both coconut milk and whole milk. It was fragrant, rich, and perfectly sweet. - Banana Coffee 5/5 Double espresso with fresh banana in whole milk. Great choice if you don't want to drink caffeine. - Strawberry Pandan cooler 5/5 Organic strawberry bits, fresh pandan juice, Ice Blend only and it's dairy free.The drink was very refreshing with the mixture between pandan and strawberry, just an excellent choice! -Original Croffle 5/5 It was flaky, crispy and buttery - Pandan Mochi 5/5 My goodness! I absolutely love the lotus & bean located at West San Gabriel Valley's first food hall, the Blossom Market Hall which includes 13 vendors. Lotus & Bean specializes in Vietnamese coffee and Southeast Asian inspired speciality drinks. The flavor profile of these drinks are so rich and robust. The staff here is so kind and friendly and very appreciative of their customers. Guests can continently access the upstairs study area with WiFi access, perfect for remote work, studying, or catching up with loved ones and friends. 10/3/25 Friday Stopped by in the late afternoon for a pick me up. We ordered three drinks. 9/10 Mango Sticky Rice Matcha: a little expensive for the size but very delicious. The mango isn't overpowering. It was creamy and smooth. Could taste the matcha but it wasn't very pronounced. I would've liked the matcha to be a little stronger. 8/10 Pandan Coffee: The pandan was subtle and the cream coagulated into little bits so the texture was a little weird but the coffee taste was strong . 9/10 Ube Coffee: the cream was super addicting and the coffee is strong (which I like). However, it was a bit tough to mix. 8/10 Pandan Cake (Banh Bo Nuong): The edges were dry but the center was good. Pretty similar to the ones I get at other Vietnamese shops. Can't speak the ambiance, service, or parking situation since friends helped pick up the drinks. Overall, a very solid coffee shop with delicious drinks and standard pricing. read more
Always love this place for drinks. This time, I tried the corn coffee. It took about 10 minutes for the drink to come out which is fine. The taste was phenomenal!! The coffee and sweet corn combination is perfect together. Previously, I had tried their coco corn latte, which is also super delicious if you're looking for something non-caffeinated. The place itself is inside the San Gabriel food hall so there's plenty of seating inside and outside, along with a bathroom, coworking space upstairs, and even a little art gallery. lots of parking as well. read more
Came back and they have seasonal drinks now!! I got the mango sticky rice latte, it worked really well with the coffee I was skeptical but impressed. I love when coffee shops try to make unique flavors that pair w coffee, service is still great as the last time I came. The lighting made my banana matcha look like a strawberry matcha oops ! Came here two days in a row so I could try both drinks. A liiiiiiiittle bit pricey IMO, but so good! The mango sticky rice matcha is a must order, and I hope they consider adding it permanently to the menu! Super creamy and not overly sweet or artificial tasting. The banana matcha is also really creamy and not overly sweet too, which I love. Drinks come out pretty fast. read more

AK Fresh Roast has quickly become a favorite. Even though we live 40 minutes away, we keep finding ourselves coming back because the coffee is just that good. Strong brew, strong flavors, no messing around. I've been working my way through their menu and loving every cup. So far, I've tried the egg coffee, pandan, and strawberry, but my husband has stayed loyal to his one true love: the ube coffee. Honestly, I get it. Next time, I'm sticking with the ube too. You really can't go wrong. We also tried the strawberry coconut latte and my kid devoured it. Service is always warm and welcoming. I believe it's family-run? It's usually the same sweet auntie in the stall and she's an absolute gem. It's located inside a food hall which is perfect because you can grab your coffee here and pick up food next door. Plus there's plenty of free parking in the lot. Win-win. AK Fresh Roast is a little hidden gem that's absolutely worth discovering. Don't sleep on the ube! read more

This coffee shop is quite small and is located inside Blossom Market Food Hall. Parking was pretty easy since they have a pretty spacious parking lot but it might be hard to find parking during the weekend! This spot is pretty popular! I went on a Saturday morning at 8am and there was already a line! However, the line moved pretty fast and the wait for my drink only took 10 minutes! Service was very friendly and welcoming Menu had a good variety of coffee drinks and pricing was reasonable ($6+). The Ube Coffee ($6.50) - requested it 1/2 sweet with oat milk and iced - the Ube foam was very thick in consistency so I had to stir it a lot to mix it with the coffee. The coffee was very strong and tasted very good! The Ube flavor was very subtle and I couldn't taste it at all. This was pretty good but I was expecting to taste the ube more so this was 8/10. I appreciate how there isn't an extra charge for milk substitutions but keep in mind that the ube foam has dairy (for those who have lactose intolerance!) The Pandan Mochi ($4) was a little pricey but it was very soft, fresh, and delicious! I really enjoyed how it wasn't too sweet. This was 7/10 I won't go out of my way to return but I would return if I'm in the area! read more

First time trying this place, but love the ambiance didn't know there was a food hall in this area. Service was a bit slow this day since there was only one person working there so it was fine. Banana matcha was very good, the milk itself was surprisingly not too sweet and as for the egg coffee it was pretty good as it was not too bitter ! I love AK Fresh Roast so much, even when they rotate out the drinks I love! Their hojicha always slaps. This season I've been getting their pandan hojicha with oatmilk and it's a perfect balance of sweet and floral and nutty. I also recently got their double matcha, which comes in a smaller size and rivaled all the trendy ktown matcha cafes! The staff are always great. Their owner is always there training staff and letting me know that I made a good choice and if the drink goes well with oat milk or sweetness adjustments. read more

AK Fresh Roast are always consistent with their excellent customer service and delicious drinks. AK Fresh Roast never disappoints. The Ube Coffee and Pandan Latte is my favorite. The ube and espresso are well balanced in portion and taste. I can say the same for the Pandan Latte. We've told our social circles about AK Fresh Roast and they too have visited several times.
