I love to craft! I like making bracelets, anklets and footless sandals. Lotus has ton of beads, charms and jewelry making supplies. I mostly like working with glass beads but they have a bit of everything. When you walk in you grab a little basket, it has little baggies & a marker to write the prices as you shop. The staff are usually helpful and good at answering questions. They do have a free rewards program you can sign up for which is nice if you plan on buying a lot or shopping there often. read more

Had to stop! My daughter is The Crystal Queen! My daughter wanted to make me a Shambala bracelet so we woke her with a Facetime call in Alaska and said we're here what do you need! We got cord then with our daughter on the phone we asked and the sales lady took us around the store. She instructed me and Richard to purchase Kambaba Jasper, Rainforest Rhyolite for the bracelets, then rainbow moonstone, mangano calcite and lastly chrysoccola. The beads are accurate to their name and good quality. The rainbow moonstone is extremely high quality, amongst some of the best my daughter has seen. (She is an experienced collector of many years). Mangano Calcite sphere was a great price for the size, accurate to sellers listing name. As for the chrysocolla, it is in a teardrop shape, and it was not true to its listing. It was truly malachite in matrix with speckle of chrysoccola. Should be marketed as malachite in matrix. Overall, the pieces were all beautiful nonetheless. The prices were fantastic on some and a little high on others but overall quality was worth it! read more

I'm very upset!! I came to this store and bought a rose quartz ring I fell in love with. Less then 24 hours after I bought the ring it was on my hand and broke, as a person who has always been interested in rose quartz I know that they are not easy to break. I called the store and talked to the manger who said that there were signs and the cashier said that the ring was fragile. In the store I didn't see any signs and was not told by anyone that the ring was fragile, I will not be coming back here! Very poor customer service and low quality stones. read more

Upon entering, they sell beads. A lot of them. They have some stones but they aren't the typical stone and crystal store. Again, they have crystals but keep in mind they aren't a crystal store. Now onto the review: Fortunately, the second visit is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars - this is due to the two girls I met the second time. They are the sole reason I'm grateful I went back as they reminded me that not everyone is like the person I encountered on my first visit. First impressions last forever and it is that experience I'll never shake, all things considered when people treat you with distain for existing, it's hard to look past. During my first visit, a guy who works there is the epitome of the egotistical "I'm better than you" attitude, and out right an unpleasant person to experience. You'd think since this is the Mall Of America, they'd have a better environment. If this was any other store I wouldn't think too much about it but considering they sell stones and crystals that are used to help people, aid in spiritual awakening, and they harbor and hold energy from their surroundings, all of the stones and crystals are stained with that man's energy. Imagine pouring tar over your head and trying to brush it out of your hair with a fine toothed plastic comb. That's what it felt like when I left. Yeah, rough. But other than that, please be cautious and make sure you cleanse yourself after you leave. read more

the employees here are kind and helpful. the selection is pretty good, it can kinda be hard to shop here although when stuff is so cramped together. I waited around looking at other stuff for like 10 minutes waiting for some other customers to move from the bracelets they were looking at, i wanted to see the beads underneath where they were searching through but there was no way to get around them. i'd say the only issue here is that layout where you can't look where others are. Decent prices, beads are a bit overpriced, crystals and stones are reasonably priced. you can find some cheap good finds here though! just wish the set up was more spacious. i would like to try their services where they do fittings for bracelets and stuff im just not sure at all what the price points would be or how it would go. read more

I was in the Mall of America with my sister yesterday when she saw this shop and immediately wanted to go inside, as soon as she got in she fell in love with a rose quartz ring and begged to get it. She ended up buying a few more items. When we got back to the hotel we were staying at she saw the ring was not there. She ended going back the next day because she really wanted the ring and was upset that the shop had forgot it. She did end up buying the ring and was very happy. Less than 24 hours later the ring had broke while she was wearing it. Being VERY upset she called the shop and ask if she could come into the shop and replace it or get a refund. The manager said that because they were signs everywhere and the cashier had said that the ring was fragile they didn't need to replace it or give a refund. The shop had very bad customer service and cheap tumbled stones. I would NOT come here. read more

Wow, what a great little shop! Jewelry making is not really my thing, but I appreciate seeing unique shops in big malls where most things are your standard brands, so I came in. Lots of piecemeal beads means sooo much to look at, and best of all touch and feel and turn over in your hands-- way better experience than online shopping! Some varieties have uniqueness from bead to bead so you can get the perfect one for the project you have in mind! The staff were very friendly and explained how to shop: trays to help you sort, baggies to select, and a sharpie to write down the amount, price, and code for quick easy check-out. Surprisingly, the atmosphere was very relaxed... no employees were watching me very carefully, even though this is exactly the kind of shop that would experience "shortage" (aka stealing) because everything is so small and pocketable. I appreciated their trust in the clientele shopping there. I got a few cute centerpiece type beads for my mom who enjoys crafting necklaces, as I'm sure she can create an awesome ensemble with them. You'll also find all the other essentials like wire and clasps, etc. I was informed that they get new kinds of stock in all the time, which is neat because it means more to explore each time you come back. Disappointed in their customer service. My 12 year old daughter spent her own money to buy a ring. It broke in less than 24 hrs from normal wear. We returned to mall just for her to replace it. The lady working told her "you were told this when you shop here & when you buy from here that this could happen as they are stones, we don't take anything back". I was a little hesitant to even enter this store based on the arrogance of the staff at the Beadniks in Santa Monica. Thankfully the staff at this location have genuine Mid-western hospitality and honest-to-goodness prices. Beadniks is the place to go to get all your jewelry-making needs filled! They sell everything from findings, crystals, pearls, glass beads, unique beads, sterling silver beads, wire, chain, the list goes on. AND - thankfully - this store sells them at prices you can afford! Top that with a super Buddhish karma interior and you have yourself a winner. read more

This shop is pricey for buying pre-made or half made jewelry. The concept is to come in pick and personalize your own jewelry. I was able to find some pre-made crystal bracelets. The organization here did not flow well but if you have an idea of what you're looking for you may be able to make your way around. Otherwise the staff is helpful. I had a coupon from the MOA book and was able to save 25% on 1 item. Which helped me to buy 2 crystal bracelets and leave happy. They also have signage to help give guidance to buying specific crystals if you are looking for something for spiritual reasons. read more

The owner obviously thinks that by opening strands of beads they are going to fool people into thinking they are worth 80 cents apiece! No wonder most bead stores are out if business! Terrible quality stones and thread. Service was not that good either. I got a Mala Brad bracelet and the thread came apart the same day, my girlfriend got a necklace with an amethyst stone necklace that broke the first day as well from dropping a foot. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about products as well as happy to provide recommendations for projects. The bead selection is pretty incredible, from local-artist beads to Swar. crystal to stone and metal. One of my favorite parts of the store is their findings selection, which come in a variety of base metals and are very reasonably priced. For $5 you can rent their tools and use their tables to work to take advantage of their in-store expertise (which is vast). The owner at Lotus beads Mall of America has horrible customer service she should learn how to treat customers from her staff. Extremely disappointed I have been coming here for a while now to get simple charms for earrings and the last time I went here I asked one of the staff an idea of how to make a little chakra dangle for dog collar she went on and said it is easy I explained I am not good at this stuff at all she said you can pay $5 here and we will show you how to do it and then you can do it, again she said It is very simple again I said I have a hard time with this kind of stuff she said you will be fine instead of paying them to do it $2 a bead so hesitantly I agreed. The owner came over and showed me a couple times she saw me struggling and not understanding at all and left the table. One of the staff members came over after watching me struggle and and attempted to explain again to me how to do it but she got interrupted by being paged by owner and never came back I asked her if she got in trouble for helping me she said yes! Then another friendly staff came by and offered to help he said this is suppose to be fun I told him he better not help the last staff member got in trouble for helping me he was shocked so I sat there struggled more and left with something done incorrectly... I am just appalled by the owners service. They were not even busy. They should warn you $5 for a couple tries to show you if you don't catch on extremely fast you are out of luck.... read more
