Their retail store is a much smaller version of the products you see at the pecan and candy shops along the interstate. This is located at the facility where the products are made. They have samples out for most, if not all, of their products to help you decide what you want. That's assuming you don't want one of everything. We got dark chocolate covered pecans, chocolate covered dried cherries, chocolate covered blueberries, divinity and a gift box of chocolate covered pecans. We easily met the "deal" requirements for a free peanut brittle. We got to taste samples of everything except the peanut brittle. I don't remember seeing samples of that. All of the chocolate covered candies are delicious but the big surprise was the peanut brittle. I used to love peanut brittle but I had given up on it a long time ago for fear of breaking a tooth. I decided to get it out for our family Christmas gathering and took a little piece, figuring to just suck on it until it melted. Turned out it was easily crunchable and not too sweet. Of the variety of things I put out to munch on this Christmas Day, their brittle was one of the hits. This assures that we will make sure to stop at Dillon Candy and not pass by. Their prices are reasonable. The choices are limited to what they make. Many of the products are in generic packaging rather than their retail packaging which probably helps keep the prices down. The store is small and they have regular business hours Monday-Friday, 8-5. If you are passing through on US 84 during that time you need to stop.

Featuring locally sourced Bradley's sausage, the biscuit is bursting at the seams and usually requires me to use a fork in order to finish. The biscuit is light as air yet buttery and rich. Place your order at the counter, peruse the house made candy, and tinker with a few classic toys, but don't forget to grab your table because your food is almost ready. I sat at the soda counter and ordered strawberry pancakes with bacon, and I tried their root beer flight. Turns out they didn't have all of the root beers because one was discontinued or unable to be sent to them any longer so one of my root beers was an orange soda. I liked the opportunity to try these sodas on tap and not commit to one. That's a really fun idea. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The bacon was good and I love strawberry pancakes so I'm a big fan when that's on the menu. I really didn't spend a lot of time there, but everyone was friendly and courteous and I didn't have to wait too long for anything from being greeted when I got there to being served. It was a great experience.

They have very unusual flavors there like caramel and chocolate with pretzels in it and several variations on moose tracks ice cream. In addition this is just about the cutest dessert store that I've ever seen! They have fun dispensers of M&Ms with all different color choices and they have a separate party room where you get to play kid games and still get to see what's going on in the main part of the store. In the store itself they have vintage games for kids and also modern takes on games that I haven't seen before. The woman who owns the store is also an engaging and interesting person who works there with her sister and also supports a local bakery that provides their beautiful cakes and cupcakes. Definitely a place to try if you're anywhere around Southwood. It's right in the heart at merchants Row and 4 Oaks Blvd.

In fact, the brand that is used here is Mayfield. I was not impressed at the fact that there are no options for toppings. I literally felt like I paid $4.75 for one small scoop of store bought ice cream in a basic cone.... (waffle cones were $1 extra) I can't knock that the store is very colorful and inviting. It would make any child's day to head here for ice cream and candy. (There is an entire wall full of various candies that can be selected and weighed. I noticed it was $10.95/lb. There are also a few tables where you can sit down and eat and a TV playing kid appropriate shows, but no sound. In my overall opinion, this place is extremely overpriced but cute. It will probably generate good revenue because of the location, but there are much better ice cream shops in town.

There are three things this shop caters to most clearly in my mind, I'll cover them below: Tea- The tea selection here is outstanding. And the prices can't be beat. We don't have a Teavana in town, and we'll never need one as long as this place stays open. Herbs- Another area in which they shine. Pro-tip: Call your order in ahead and it will be waiting for you with a 10% discount. Alternative Worship Needs- Candles, oils, cloths for alters, special clays and dirts, mortars and pestles; if your personal practice needs it they probably have it. If not they will happily help you find it. The reason it didn't get my fifth star is no fault of their own. The heavy construction in the area can make it frustrating to get to. But it's worth the annoyance. Drop in, tell 'em Jonnie sent you. Pick up the adorable honey sticks in the front (yum!).
