I've been seeing Vivian at Lotus Healing Acupuncture for several months now to treat a chronic shoulder injury from a bicycle accident and also a stubborn muscle knot that has been with me since knee surgery in April of this year. Vivian is very personable, kind, knowledgeable, and caring when it comes to treating her clients. I've had acupuncture at a few other places and can say that Vivian is the gentlest and most skilled of the acupuncturists I've seen. My leg has improved significantly over the last few months and I continue to see her for my shoulder which has also helped relieve some of the chronic pain. Vivian is an amazing healer! I was first referred to her a few years ago from a coworker when I pulled my arm badly picking up my infant. After two acupuncture sessions, my arm was back to normal. I have been going to Dr. Chou for acupuncture treatments for over two years. I began going two times a week and now I go about once a month for a "tune up," unless I have an emergency. I have a chronic illness and go for pain management, stress reduction and relaxation. The results are truly amazing. I always sleep much better for weeks after a treatment. I also credit Dr. Chou with helping to rid me of severe anxiety and panic attacks that I had for quite a while after my Son was born. I've had already three acupuncture sessions with Vivian, which was complemented with the Eastern Cupping technique and a massage. They are one of the best in the area. Vivian's manner is gentle and calm, you don't even know she's put the needles in. It is painless. Today was my third acupuncture treatment and what a difference! I was experiencing early stages of carpal tunnel, whereas I was suffering immense pain in my wrist that spread to my thumb and the back of my hand. Dr. Chou and Susan are an amazing healing duo. I started going to Dr. Chou and Susan once a week six months ago to help reduce my stress level. I tried a lot of different places, including massage therapy and craniosacral therapy, which felt good after the treatments, but didn't seem to last. Since a friend of mine, who has sciatica (very painful back ailment), found permanent pain/stress relief with acupuncture, I decided to look for a skillful acupuncturist in my area. I looked at many different acupuncturists, but was most impressed with Dr. Chou because (1) she has a Ph.D. in acupuncture, which indicates that she is passionate enough about the subject to complete a lengthy educational program, (2) she is a third-generation practitioner who honestly takes pride in her work, (3) she gave me a free consultation, explaining what acupuncture is and what it is not and (4) she explained to me in the consultation that she doesn't have many long-term patients because she prefers to help people resolve their problems and get on with their lives. Every visit is great because the acupuncture needles force my body to relax. It's as if my body's only job is to relax and my body takes control over my stressful mind and forces it to relax. Lately, I've been working with Dr. Chou and Susan to resolve some personal challenges. They are really very talented and know a lot of different modern and ancient techniques to help patients permanently resolve past body or mental traumas/triggers. (I've found Dr. Chou's "tapping" technique very hepful and Susan's psychic abilities are accurate and powerful) Since coming here, I am starting to see more permanent, positive results. I am less stressed overall, even if I miss a visit or two. If you've been looking for permanent solutions to stress/etc., you should consider Dr. Chou and Susan. One thing to note: the decor is plain and not like your ritzy spa (although the results in terms of stress reduction are much better than a spa).
