We have been loyal customers who use dip for manicures and regular pedicures. Today we made an appointment for 3 pedicures and my girls needed to go to work and told them we needed to be in & out. The individuals working on my daughters did not apply polish since they had two acrylic appointments walk in. The manager finished theirs and I never had polish. Got my nails done for a cruise. Everyone was super friendly and my nails look great. I got two nails holographic and one with ombré and waves, the rest was blue. They had tons of colors to choose from. The only reason I didn't give it a 5/5 is cause my pedicure was delicate. My toes got smudged so they fixed it I waited an hour to put on closed toed shoes but it smudged again on the big toe. Also my color was a shade off from the one I wanted because the bottle was mislabeled but I still enjoy the color. But other than that I love the look and feel of my nails. Right After we sat in the massage chairs the massage feature stopped working leaving the knobs of the chair pushing into my back in uncomfortable places. I asked the staff person to help she pushed a few buttons, shrugged and told me it didn't work. There was an open chair on the other side of my friend, I asked if I could move. She said no. I scheduled and paid for 2 of their mid-level pedicures, for myself and my friend. Upon comparing their levels of service after my visit, it's clear we both got their most basic service. In addition, the layer of paint on my toes was so thin I can see my nail through the paint in streaks. I have been going here for a year now and they normally do a decent job. Today they did a completely different color to what I asked for. Then they tried to fix it by putting more layers of gel, this made my nails very thick and ugly. They also cut my nails terribly and just did an overall bad job. After I complained and asked them to fix it they basically sent me out and made me pay for the worst manicure ever. I now have to go to my job with 6th grade Barbie nails. I got my nails done by Howie tonight and I was so happy with my results! I needed my acrylics filled in and I learned after calling a few places that Star Nails is one of the few places that can do acrylics in Boulder. Both Tony and Howie were so welcoming and treated me like a princess. They were incredibly happy to see me and were very polite. I was also impressed to learn that this salon is expanding in size! They now have about 7 or 8 pedicure chairs and lots of space for manicures, as well as all new colors and LED drying lights. They will soon be changing their name to Lotus Nails. This was my first time at this salon and doing a dip manicure. Although my technician was really nice the outcome was not what I expected. I paid $45 for a dip manicure. There was no part of a manicure done except for shaping my nails. She did not do the cuticles or anything. I did a French dip. I love how sturdy they feel but the quality is poor. Where its suppose to be clear, its speckled. When I asked about it I was told "it is powder so it won't be clear it has the powder"....mmm...no. there shouldn't be a powder speckle through the clear part. All on all....I dont think I would go back. If I'm paying for one of the high cost services and I get mediocre work at best, it's not worth it. read more

I'm shook... I can't stop looking at my nails. Firstly, they have EVERY COLOR you could imagine and then some. Chrome, mood changing nail polish, and polish that makes your nails look like gemstones. Howie fixed my acrylic hackjob I got from another place and gave me the best set of nails ever. He was super fast, but made sure I was satisfied with each step before moving on. He didn't rush at all like some nail techs I've had in the past. My nails were done in about 30 minutes! Can't recommend enough. I was fine with a different color since my normal salon is in westminster. I would say it took 10 minutes alone to explain I had pink & whites. Powder not polish! He started doing my nails in the slowest strangest way. Then we finally all figure out I want powder. It took him 3 times to get it on and do it right and it still wasn't right. I told him I had to leave and forget it. He rushed to attempt to fix and sealed his disgusting mess w base coat. He couldn't even shape my nail. And they still charged me $5 for a nail. Lotus Nails is normally my go to nail spot and they always do such an amazing job but today might be my last time coming here. Uneven tips and shape. Color looks dull and sloppy. Air bubbles and smudges on all my nails. I made the mistake of being a walk-in (I normally call before) but my technician sat me next to the desk where people pay and the entire time he was answering phones, checking on other people and every time he sat back down he'd cut me or get right back up to have someone pay. I never write reviews but I have never been more dissatisfied with my service. I honestly didn't even want to pay but I still paid 50 plus tip. None of my nails are the same length, they are all lumpy and crooked, most of my fingers are cut due to distraction. When I spoke up about the smudges I was told that I was fine. I would be more than happy to come back to get them fixed but I am afraid I will get the same technician and the same service. read more

Horrible customer service!!!!! I went in at 6 to have a pedicure, they were playing Rap music and appeared to be in a hurry . I soaked my feet in lukewarm to cool water !! I told her I had callouses and she nodded. The nails are not straight and the polish is not all the way to the cuticle ! what a waste of money !!! It was NOT relaxing or a experience! My toe was swollen probably from dirty instruments , there was also a big spider crawling but they were to busy talking to each other in their language ! I went in to ask them to either remove the calluses and repaint the nails heck They said no a manager would call NO MANAGER CALLED ITS BEEN 3 days I did fu and still no return call ! WORST nail salon EVER! Came in to get a mani/pedi. One of the girls was doing my mani while I was getting the pedi done, while standing! She finished my mani in 5 minutes, tops, and got nail polish all over the cuticles and on the side. I had to tell her "Can you please clean off the spot here, and this one, oh and right here too?" The coats weren't even either. To top it all off, my nails chipped in less than 24 hours. The next morning, half of all the nail polish was gone. I can't believe this place stays open! read more

This was our first time going to Lotus nails and I'm not sure we're gonna come back... super expensive for just a polish change and dip powder manicure. I had Dave and he didn't even do my cuticles, hand massage, trim or anything that's supposed to come with a manicure. Also he filed and drilled my nails down super hard so now they are thin and they are really hurting :( Polish is cute and looks good but for $46 plus tip this is not what I was expecting. My nails look great after stopping in for a spa pedicure and a shellac gel manicure. The had a very large selection of gel colors and they did a wonderful job of shaping my nails. The standard polishes were lacking a bit in my opinion. I wasn't a fan of them starting my manicure before my pedicure was done. I understand trying to be efficient when it is busy but I go to the salon to relax and not feel like I am in a hurry. Additionally, my hands didn't even soak they just put cuticle gel on to begin cleaning my cuticles. They do give you a punch card for a discount after 10 services. I'll definitely be back. read more

this place was disgusting, easily the grossest salon i've been to. the man dusted my nails then used the same thing to clean the table. he later cleaned a little bowl w his shirt and put my figures in it. he left for like 5 minutes to get a cuticle cutter and then cut me seconds later. I asked for nude gel with stars on 2 fingers, he told me he could do it then later when he was going to start on the design, told me he could try bc he "wasn't good at designs." it looked terrible so i came back the next day and they gave me the same guy to fix them and didn't know what "making the stars more even" meant, he was sassy and did a half assed job putting sparkles on which still don't look good. a day after my final fix, my thumb chipped. PREVIOUS Review of Star Nails: I was pretty disappointed with my most recent visit. I asked for a mani/pedi and upgraded to shellac for my hands. The whole time the girl was impatient. I was out in less than an hour and less than 24 hours later the shellac chipped! The pedi, ended up chipping on the second day, without apparent cause. I won't be going back to this place. read more

He recently did my nails for my wedding and I got SO MANY compliments! I've also had several pedicures as well and I always feel pampered and very happy with my feet, not just my toes. The staff here is genuinely friendly and seeks to provide top notch customer service. The selection of colors (regular, gel, or powder dip) is impressive. And then, when you go to check out you'll be amazed at how inexpensive their services are! To receive the quality of work at those prices is a pleasant surprise for your wallet.
