When it's crawfish season, I spend a good chunk of my allowance here. I usually drive to either Pearland or Stafford just to get my order, so I've been a loyal customer for a while. Unfortunately, my last few visits have been disappointing. The crawfish have been overboiled, and there's been a strange aftertaste that wasn't there before. It also seems like they're using way too many bay leaves, which is overpowering the flavor. I've given it multiple chances because I know how good this place can be, but this is now the third visit in a row with the same issues. It honestly makes me wonder if something changed in the kitchen, because the quality doesn't seem consistent with what I used to get here. And before anyone says I don't know good crawfish, I'm from Louisiana. I know everyone's taste is different, but I can definitely tell when the seasoning and cook quality are off. This was on my must try in Houston places we traveled there this past week and let me tell you im glad I made it the flavor was impeccable a couple other spots I tried before this was making me doubt the seafood boils in Texas! The spice level medium was perfect and the sauce packet i opted for was a great additive to the already flavored shrimp they were also cooked perfectly. The only thing that I would have to say is crackers should be available for snow crab claws that was a bit of a challenge to get! For a min I thought the portion was small but after eating it was the perfect amount I belive what we got was the hot box. My husband and I asked for the girl at the Hertz counter at the airport for a recommendation for seafood while we were in town and she immediately said Lotus. It was nearby and still open when we arrived. We were expecting a more upscale sit down restaurant for a nice dinner, and here you walk up to the counter to order and go back and show your receipt to pick up your food when it's ready. There were a lot of younger people hanging out here and there are several TVs on the walls for a very casual dinner. We noted a lot of carry out orders too. We were glad to see that it wasn't all fried food. You can get seafood by the pound, a traditional boil, and they have fried rice or noodles and several sides too. The crab clusters were large and very fresh! And I loved the "crack sauce" which is garlic butter served chilled in packets. If you're looking for an intimate setting this isn't it, but the seafood is excellent. We spent $80 for the two of us and loved it. read more

Love this place in Pearland Tx!!! Anything I have ordered has not disappointed: huge portions and cook to perfection. Gumbo, fried fish and shrimp. My only complaint they got rid of the Whole Chicken Wing and went to drums and flats. The Front of the house is awesome: patient, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and respectful. My Houston best friend recommended Lotus Seafood while I was away on business this weekend. She sent me a video from TikTok and we were sold! Lotus Seafood is a seafood restaurant with menu items named after certain substances, you can figure that out (it's quite simple!). Anyway, I decided to get the Fully Loaded Loud Pack--1/2 lb boiled shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn, eggs, Louisiana Fried Rice with a packet of their signature Crack Sauce, a buttery, garlic sauce in a promethazine looking bottle (and an obvious homage to Purple Drank, something iconically Houston no matter what you think of it, iykyk!). It was seasoned extremely well, not too spicy (i got medium spice level), just the right amount of seasoning and kick. I see why my best friend was making such a big dealAnyway, the potatoes were perfectly soft, everything in the pack was nicely balanced. This is a MUST TRY. Don't pass go, don't do nothing but come straight HERE if you're in Houston. Not to mention how friendly the staff was! The overall place seemed well-kept and clean. I didn't see any dirty tables when I walked in. I ordered online & my food was ready when I arrived. I gave it 4 stars because the young lady working near the to-go orders responded to my question as if she didn't want to be bothered. I love lotus but my experiences at this location always fall short. Today had to be the worst. My crab legs were so overcooked the meat was tinted gray and the shell was soft. I had to tear the legs to get the meat out because it was THAT overcooked. In addition their system for food pick up always leave you waiting past the time your food is due.
