I will try to be brief, but this was a very long, disappointing experience. I will also say I have been here several times prior and had wonderful service and an awesome meals. My sisters and I came here today to simply enjoy crawfish & each a drink. One of my sister's ordered (medium spice) and her order was almost perfect, nice large crawfish, and the season was just right (see pic). Me and my other sister ordered medium season with "extra garlic." Our crawfish was so spicy we could only eat about 3. Also over 50% of the crawfish was tiny (see pic). My sister got a headache and her stomach was upset. So she was not feeling well. We informed Abigail, our server, of the problem and learned that adding "extra garlic" actually means "more spice" -- which we didn't know, we simply wanted extra garlic. Now, the manager, Gus, was informed. He came to the table and was willing to take the crawfish back and redo our orders. (At this point, we didn't know we were getting the same crawfish back). He also mentioned of the end of the season was the reason for the tiny crawfish. Tiny crawfish that should not have been served to us or anyone (regardless if it's end of the season). It should be used for fishing bait or tossed. And besides my other sister's tray was at least 95% large crawfish. Our server came back and apologized, and another employee brought us a tray of crawfish still with over 50% tiny crawfish. This time, the taste was better. We learned that when crawfish is not satisfactory; they take it back to the kitchen, rinse the same crawfish and re-dip in sauce. The server is not the cook or the leader, they have limited authority. The manager came back over and saw the size of our crawfish. He offered additional crawfish, (which I appreciated) but it ended up being the same size mix. The last mishap of the night is that I was doubly charged. A training issue. It took at least 30 minutes to get this rectified and I am still monitoring my account. I believe there were several opportunities throughout the evening that we should've been offered "real compensation" much earlier in the evening. But the offer didn't come until the very end --when my sister emphasized how long we had been at the restaurant; and all that we had experienced and that we should "at least" been offered a dessert or drink. The manager presented discount cards to use on another visit and apologized to us. Thankful. When experiences like this happen, I always think about the top leader, like a District Manager. A DM should train the on-site manager on how to handle/ satisfy issues "at the beginning." Also to ensure that the chef does not prepare and serve disproportionate food to customers. read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report an incident that occurred at your establishment on February 3, 2026, which I believe was completely unacceptable, dangerous, and traumatic. While my bartender was initially slow with service, she did attempt to improve toward the end of my visit. My tab from that evening reflects multiple charges (approximately $45.00), and notes were left reflecting my experience. My primary concern involves the manager on duty. Due to heavy rain, I politely requested to exit through the side door closest to my parked vehicle. I had already remained inside for over an hour waiting for the rain to subside and ordered an additional drink simply to wait it out. The manager informed me that if I attempted to exit through the side door, she would physically confront me. When I later attempted to leave, I first tried exiting through the front entrance but was met with severe rainfall that would have left me completely soaked. I then proceeded toward the side exit. At that point, the manager physically grabbed me and forcefully threw me to the ground while it was actively raining. There is absolutely no circumstance under which a manager should place their hands on a guest or use physical force. As a result of this incident, I am experiencing physical pain, specifically in my elbow and hip. I also felt attacked, unsafe, and humiliated. The physical and emotional impact of this incident has been significant. I have videos and photographs documenting the weather conditions and related circumstances and am requesting an immediate and thorough review of this matter, including all available surveillance footage and witness statements. I expect prompt follow-up regarding how this incident will be addressed. What occurred was not only unprofessional but poses serious concerns regarding staff conduct, guest safety, and liability. Went to Sam's Boat on a Monday night. It wasn't overly busy, but service was terrible. Several tables left or canceled orders due to long waits. With the open layout, you could see staff standing around while customers sat without drinks and tables went unattended. No sense of urgency. TWC needs to visit... Young kids running food and serving drinks. Very disappointing experience. read more

My wife and I came here due to a recommendation from the person who was working on our phone. Our server was very attentive and the food came out reasonably quick. The atmosphere of the place is that of a local restaurant, It is a chill vibe to watch games or brings your family. Mac N' Cheese - 8.5/10.... It was good and perfectly seasoned. Personally, I am just not a fan of Kraft style Macaroni and cheese. What I mean, is that I like mine more oven backed with cheese plus cheese sauce. Shrimp Pasta Diablo - 10/10... perfectly seasoned. Every bite was favorable and just delicious. I say, give it a try when you come on down. The portion size is fantastic. Blue Moon Draft - 10/10.. Came to this location yesterday and my experience was pretty good! We sat outside though there were plenty of indoor options as well! They made sure to have fans blowing outside thank God. Inside is very spacious and lively. Also clean. My server and her trainee were both really nice! In between ordering, receiving food, and getting the check, service was pretty slow. For lunch, we got the voodoo egg rolls and crawfish. The egg rolls were surprisingly really good! There's rice in it which the menu doesn't mention but I enjoyed. They are spicy and flavorful. I can't wait to come back just for those. My friend got the crawfish. It was spicy and there were some pretty big ones. She didn't enjoy the garlic sauce that it was tossed in but once she got some butter to dip it in instead she said it was much better. I prefer this location over the fountain view ave one now. I had not been here in awhile. I should have believed the 2.8 rating and found somewhere else. Service was slower than a snail. Bar was supposedly backed up and it took close to 20 minutes to get our drinks. It wasn't that busy. Our appetizer and my husband's food came out before the drinks. My daughter's and my food came out with another server. Not a problem, teamwork. But then we had to keep asking her for things because our server never came to check on us. I'm eating spicy crawfish at this point with no drink​ refill in sight. And the sausage with the crawfish is breakfast sausage? Ew. Finally had to ask the server that had helped us where ours actually was and to cancel the 2nd round of drinks we had ordered through her. No idea where the manager was the whole time. Not worth leaving an actual review, but here we go! They treat their servers like sh!!. The food is for the most part underwhelming. And the drinks are NEVER consistent. Glass sizes are different with every drink, and the attitudes are bad as well. Our first time here. First, someone tried to break into my car. I got an alert on my phone that my window was down by the time i got out there they were gone and my passenger window was cracked open. I know it was closed because i just got the windows tinted and had the lock on the windows. Other than that the food was excellent. I came here for a early dinner before a movie and had a great experience. It's a very casual place, and they had various sports games across the tvs outside. Our waiter was very attentive and offered great service. The food was pretty good; we ordered queso as an appetizer and then the shrimp diablo pasta and the catfish basket. Everything was good, though I wish the queso was a little hotter in temperature. Side note: we sat outside and though there were many many fans blowing, the seasoning from the surround tables seafood boils were tearing my sinuses up! I understand it's busy and it's a Friday night. Wehad like a 20 minute wait before our table was available so we went outside to the bar and it need some TLC. The fans to the left and right of the bar needs to be cleaned ASAP! They were going and all I could think of was all that debris and dust blowing into our drinks and and food. They needed a better system on notifying people once their table is available.. I thought we would receive a text and it was a call and normally people will not answer calls that they do not recognize. I would change it to a system where it sends a text saying the table is ready. Once we got a table, it took about 10 minutes before a server came, and she only took our order for appetizers and then once we finished our appetizers, then she took our order for a main entree. Order should be taking at the same time and not on a paper diner order form.. why do these young girls do not have a POS I do not understand!!! we have been here since 8 o'clock and it is now 930 and we have not had our entrée! I am looking at the front entrance where the hostesses and there are at least seven girls that are just standing there not doing anything! This restaurant needs some serious management! read more

I've gone to the Richmond Abe location & thought it would be the same, but no. The Oyster over cooked & Calamari very small. The foods presentation was great, but the corn meal wasn't seasoned at all. The fries were seasoned more than all the food. This was a mediocre meal. Melissa had multiple tables and we mentioned all this to her & she was like well this is how we do things here at our location. We spent a bit of money here, but I don't think I'd be back with the lack of seasoning. read more

I like to try things for myself before I base my decision off of what others say. BUT WHEN THEY SAID the service here is bad, they weren't lying! I experienced that firsthand on today. We were here for a birthday celebration; party of 13. We started out with just one server taking orders but soon asked for a second person to help because there was a bit of confusion. We thought a 2nd server would help ease the process for such a large party as ours, but no... There were drinks coming to the table that no one ordered. Food orders were being placed in front of the wrong guests. No one came around to refill sodas or teas. And when it came to me, I was left waiting 14 minutes after everyone else got their food before I received mine! I understood that we were a large party and that it would take some time to get all the orders out which is why I didn't ask sooner. But when 2 of our guests asked for a to-go box, that's when I knew it was about to be a problem. I called the server over to ask where my food was and she asked me what it was that I ordered. I told her the sampler basket with onion rings. She then said, "oh, it's been sitting over here under the heat lamp". Fourteen minutes of me waiting on my food and it was under the heat lamp all this time!!! So you know when I got my food, it wasn't hot. It was more like warm (sigh). Since I waited for so long and didn't want to cause a scene, I just left things as they were. One good thing was that they allowed us to bring in a cake and a fruit tray. Another plus is that the food I ordered was actually good and seasoned to my liking. However, because of the service, I doubt that I will be returning to this location again any time soon. read more

Do not leave anything in your car. I was there 2 weeks ago and my truck was broken into. Thankfully nothing was stolen. Just had to pay 400 bucks to have back passenger side window replaced. I was parked near the entrance. Another lady parked in front had a laptop stolen. A friend of mine had his truck broken into this weekend and he was parked in the togo spot right in front. My experience at Sam's Boat was very disappointing. My family and I arrived at 11:00 PM on a Saturday, and online it clearly said they close at 12:00 AM. When we got there, they were already out of sweet tea, which was understandable because it was late. However, the bigger issue was with our gumbo orders. Two of us ordered the seafood gumbo while the other two ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo because one of my cousins is allergic to seafood. The first bowl the waiter brought was labeled as chicken and sausage, so we gave it to my cousin with the allergy. When she started stirring it, she noticed shrimp inside. She had to switch plates with my brother, and then the waiter came back and said that the two bowls they had brought out were actually seafood gumbos. Later we realized that I was actually eating the chicken and sausage gumbo instead. The orders were completely mixed up, which is a serious problem when someone has a seafood allergy. On top of that, all of the gumbo was extremely salty, and one bowl was so salty that it wasn't edible. My cousin asked if she could exchange hers, and the waiter took the bowl back and said it was fine, but came back five minutes later saying the chefs were already cleaning and didn't want to make another one. He also told us they closed at 11, even though online it clearly says midnight on Saturdays, and we arrived exactly at 11 so they could have refused service if that was the case. Overall, the service was very disorganized, the waiters didn't seem to know what they were doing, and the food quality was very poor. I think this is one of the places you go to watch the game at versus for their food. That being said, it seems like a few minor changes would greatly improve their shrimp basket at least. The hush puppies had a good fluffy but were not cooked thoroughly leaving them very mushy on the inside. The cabbage in the coleslaw was old and soft giving the coleslaw more of a gummy texture. The fried shrimp were served over the French fries and all the grease from the fried shrimp were absorbed into the fries making them soggy. Now the food being what it is, they do have a great outdoor space with plenty of TV's for watching whatever sporting events is on and a playground close to the tables so you can let your kiddos go play while you eat and easily keep an eye on them. I will probably come back for the playground and maybe just stick some queso or something. The shrimp themselves were nice and crispy though. read more

Our Server Abigail was great. Our food, was ok. The flavors seemed a bit off . Not really bad , just off. We had shrimp tacos and shrimp basket. The rice with tacos had a strange taste (enough not to eat it) Tacos were good. Shrimp basket was ok. Shrimp a little overcooked, coleslaw no flavor- kind of watery, and cocktail and tartar sauces - just something off, Hush puppies were good and the sweet potato fries were also good and moist, not over cooked. Started with margarita on the rocks, tasted like made with "dirty" water or mix. We were told made in a batch, so no sense to order another of same kind. So switched to blended, was told might be better, still was a bit off, so just had them add a bit of mango flavor to help it out... it was ok ... Ambiance, restaurant has a comfortable setting. Gave this place another chance, hoping the service would improve. It didn't. It makes me wonder--if the demographic that frequents this establishment were different, would the service still be this consistently poor? Other communities wouldn't tolerate this. They'd demand better or take their money elsewhere--and the business would have no choice but to improve or shut down. But some of us keep showing up, accepting subpar treatment and handing over our money to people who clearly don't value us. I've eaten here a few times and in awe of the great tasting food. Had the lunch portion of the catfish dinner. Lightly spicy , not over cooked, wonderful flavor, what else is there!?! Loaded mashed potatoes were a nice surprise. Creamy, tasty, with garlic butter! Yum! The hush puppies were awesome! Everything was well seasoned and not too spicy. I will be coming back for more!
