We did a larger carryout order from here on a weekend night. The order was done in about 30mins. I called in part of the order and ordered something else through their app. The new app is easy to navigate once you figure it out. We had 7 personal sized pizzas and a large thin crust. I placed an online order and went to pickup. Note to self: this parking lot was craaaaazzzzzy with cars trying to pickup kids from the dance studio. My order was ready, everyone was nice, I got home and the pizza was still hot, the cheese was stretchy. The crust, however, seemed like it was a precooked crust, and there was barely any chopped tomatoes (sauce) on it, although plenty of sausage. I will order a large or XL next time and see if I feel the same way about the crust. A salad was included in my deal; it was fine, the house dressing is my favorite. I love Lou's pizza and I have been coming to the restaurant for years, but, when you have always given two dressings per medium salad, and now you have gone down to one, that is just not right. Don't cheap out on salad dressing of all things. I have never complained about an increase in price and they just got up significantly over the years like everything else, but, it's salad dressing! And when customers don't know that you now only get one dressing instead of two, I can tell you, it makes you not wanna go back to this location ever again. Just as good as downtown. Pick up was quick and easy. Salad, of course - and just order pizza. Nice crispy bottom and loads of cheese. Don't get bruschetta to go - we should have known better; it needs the time to meld while hot. I've been ordering from Lous for 20 years. And it's finally become a faceless company. Sad really. They showed up somehow the credit card I've been using on their app for 8 years didn't go through. I have no cash like most and tried to pay with a check but no versus their website that's not acceptable. Even Dominos takes checks. Lous is now another McDonalds. I under stand there would be at least 30-40 min. wait after you place your order on a busy day, but I arrived on time for pick up. There were a long line of car parked outside their door and unhappy customer waiting, inside the tiny space. They kept taking care of the walk-ins, phone calls, so by the time I got my pizza it was 20min past my pick up time. My pizza was watery from the steam collected inside the box because it sat at the counter for too long. I should have ask for a refund if I open the box before I left. Well, once again we had a disappointing experience with the Lake Forest location. This location seems always to be run by kids who pay no attention to what they are doing and have no desire to make customers happy. One of our kids requested deep dish so we reluctantly gave it one more shot. Not only was the order not ready and not correct, the deep dish AND the thin crust were terrible. The deep dish was undercooked and so soggy that it stuck to the cardboard ( no netting to keep that from happening). The thin crust was chewy and overcooked. Completely tasteless. We ordered a salad which they left off of the order. There are two other pizza places within two minutes of us. We will be taking our business to one of those restaurants. read more

Boy, is this pizza outstanding. Most likely some of the best 'za I've ever had. I typically opt for the sausage or pepperoni thin crust, but their deep dish is also off the charts! Hmmm... so why not 5 stars? I'll tell you why: the delivery is a joke. And it's not a funny one since the joke is on whomever orders a pizza for delivery. Usually it takes an hour and a half, and even that is generous. Living around 15 minutes away, I think an hour and a half is a bit extravagant... especially since I only order one thin crust pizza, which even when busy shouldn't take too long to make. When the pizza arrives, it is fairly warm, but in the end it is not the piping hot pizza that I'm looking for. It's a shame more than anything, because the pizza still does taste great... Had 2 pizzas delivered this evening. Very hot and very good. I do have a complaint about the service when you call. Very discourteous, definitely need to learn some customer service. The driver called and said he was lost and his GPS wanted to take him to River Forest. On 10/11/11 I received an email from someone who requested my phone number so there district manager could contact me. I called and left it with them, that was over 2 weeks ago. It is now 10/19/2011. 1/29/2012 Ordered 2 for delivery, a thick and a thin. The thick was OK, but the thin was made and ready way before it needed to be. While Lou's is one of my favorite Chicago pizzerias, their Lake Forest location leaves much to be desired. Every time I have ordered, the cheese has been burned and the crust has been over cooked. This makes the pizza inedible. Their Buffalo Grove and Libertyville locations make far better pizzas that are more consistent with and true to the legendary Lou's name.
