    Italian Beef Sandwich
    Maggie M.

My favorite pizza place to have their deep dish The Lou and add crumble sausage. The Lou is spinach, mushrooms, and Roma tomatoes. Also asked to cook it well done so it isn't so watery from all the tomatoes. I love the butter crust. The waiter cuts and serves the first slice and if nearby they can help with cutting another slice. They make it look so easy, but I struggle to cut the slices. We also tried their Italian beef sandwich with fries. They offer sweet peppers and Giardiniera. Was really delicious with so much melted mozzarella. The seasoned wedge fries were amazing and was devoured by me and my husband.

We came on a busy Friday night. Parking was difficult to find but we managed to find one along the street. Downtown Naperville is quaint. This particular Lou Malnati is the nicer one in Naperville. It's in an old firehouse. The theme is on point! The wait was going to be too long so we found a spot at the bar. Bartender was very nice. We weren't too hungry so we ordered a personal pizza to share. I got a 0%alcohol beer. The pizza took 30 minutes to come out. The crust was strange. It was like there was too much corn meal on the side. I can't place what's wrong with it except I had Giordanos deep dish pizza and the crust was really good. It's too bad because I'm visiting from California and was disappointed in this pizza.

Front entrance - why is the heated outdoor patio unused on a super busy night?

For the record, I love Lou's, it's probably my favorite pizza in the world, etc. But this location was a disappointment. I think they just can't handle take-out orders when it's busy. I ordered a standard "The Lou". No modifications. Website quoted 35 minutes. It was a Saturday night, so I figured it would take longer than usual. I got to the restaurant about 45 minutes later. No parking anywhere and the place was an absolute zoo. People everywhere. Entire entryway swarmed. Finally I made it to the host stand and they seemed overwhelmed. Two people worked together to find my pizza in the system. It would be another 10 minutes. No place to wait, so I just went outside and waited at the curb. (Incidentally, they have a big heated outdoor patio but I guess they don't actually use it in the winter, since it was closed off while people waited for tables inside.) 15 minutes later, I was still waiting. Went back to the host stand. "It's almost ready." Another 10 minutes of milling around awkwardly, people everywhere, no where to sit... Finally a manager brings me the pizza. I get it back to the hotel and it's soggy. Not even greasy, just wet. Barely any distinctive Lou's flavor. Obviously I ate it. A soggy Lou's is better than most other pizza. But man was it ever a disappointment. And the frustration of spending a half hour at the restaurant milling around didn't help. Plus all the feral teenagers blocking the sidewalks and the crazy parking situation... Maybe I'm just getting old but when I order a pizza, I want to pick it up exactly when it's promised, with easy parking, and I want it to be delicious. So yeah, if you're getting take-out, you probably should just pick a different Lou's location.

When in/ near Chicago you gotta try deep Dish pizza. The two different pizza restaurants to try were Lou Malnati's Pizzeria in downtown Naperville (which is super nice). It was packed, smelled great and looked like it was in an old firehouse which was cool ambiance. The service was friendly and we waited about 20 minutes for my wife and I to share a Chicago style deep dish pizza. The pizza was great and the cheese melted and gooey. It doesn't take much of this kind of Pizza to Fill you up. We actually bought one to take back to California to give to a friend. Gotta give them a try.

** Carry Out Review ** This Lou Malnati's is located in the heart of downtown Naperville. They do have a designated area for carry out orders which also has specified parking making it easier for customers. My husband ordered via the website and it was easy to navigate. Our order was ready by the estimated time and our food was correct. We had a medium deep dish Lou. It was flavorful, cheesy and oh so good. The 1 thing I wish we could change is how fast the crust begins to get soggy from being in the pizza box. I know that's beyond anyones control but if that somehow could be fixed, that would be great haha.

Parking: Free 3 hrs parking in nearby Paw Paw Lot and via intersecting streets. Restrooms: in the back of the restaurant. Serves its purpose. Ambience: open, airy and enclosed. We're seated in a booth inside the restaurant and had a great view of outside with sun. Star of the show is Lou's Bruschetta! One of the best, with drizzled balsamic vinegar, even keel bruschettas we've tasted. Iced tea tasted fantastic! Hint of sweetness. Perfect for summer! Kids meals are a huge deal. My son loved four large pieces of Cheese Ravioli with meat sauce. He ate everything on his plate. Customer Service: Five stars from our Server with clear, concise communication from beginning to end. Normally, The Malnati Chicago Classic takes about 30 minutes to be ready. Same server informed us after 35 mins that the clamp holding the deep dish pizza fell off and as a result our deep dish pizza dropped to the ground. We're willing, waited for an hour, and Server initiated to comp pizza and we agreed due to accident. We're happy with the decision. Our Server came over to ask how's our food tasting, provided water and napkin refills were accessible. When The Malnati Chicago Classic arrived, we observed only one inch thick butter crust that was filled halfway. Liquid from the tomatoes saturated the top of the deep dish pizza. Italian sausage tasted bland. Chicago deep dish pizza lacked seasonings. While Lou Malnati's are known for their butter crust, I didn't experience the crispy, flakiness. Instead, the butter crust tasted dense. My husband and I could only eat one pizza. We packed the rest to go. I managed to eat the rest for dinner. I'm willing to give Lou Malnati's Pizzeria another chance when we're in IL. I enjoyed walking around in the vicinity.

This was busy on a Friday night, which was to be expected, but my friend and I said at the bar so service was really quick. The calamari was absolutely delicious and I also got an appetizer sampler.. the bartender made a drink for customer, but use the wrong alcohol in it so I was able to get a free espresso martini since she had to remake it so yay.

Your run-of-the-mill pizzeria whose main audience is high school students coming on dates. I was able to take a break from my construction manager duties. The service was great and our waitress was very friendly. There are various rooms dedicated to claw machines and pin ball games and a large, clean seating area. Penne Al Malnati- Very standard pasta dish. Not much flavor or depth, just lots of cheese. The sauce was nothing special and the beef didn't stand out enough for me to notice it. The Lou- I came mainly for the famous Chicago deep dish pizza. However, the pizza slice was also mediocre and the vegetables saved the lack of flavor. The menu claimed the crust had garlic, but I did not taste any garlic either. Despite the kind waitress, I would not come back. You'll have better luck finding a delicious Chicago deep dish pizza elsewhere.

We have been bringing out-of-town guests here for the past 15 years, at least. It's our favorite branch of all the Lou Malnati's we've eaten at. We learned last year that the company is no longer owned by the Malnati Family, but by a corporation; and the restaurants are franchises, not consistently good. Sure enough, when we brought guests to the one on Roselle Rd. in Schaumburg, only the famous salad was good. The pizzas we ordered lacked the delicious tastes we had bragged about. Service was good, but even the server told us that the new cooks weren't up to par. So far, the Naperville branch still cooks up delicious pizzas. Hope they keep it up.

The bowtie pasta delicious it came with vodka sauce highly recommend

CHICAGO DEEP DISH!! Finally was able to make it here! These guys have it to a science, this is the best out there in Chicago! I know its a debate but I would say it is! Has the Deep Dish "The Malnati Chicago Classic" small for two (honestly 3-4 people can eat and have a slice each. This place was empty when we went but maybe the time and day. Atmosphere was chill, quiet but good service! The server was not that helpful as it looks alot of locals come here so no need to explain much but she was nice! Pizza was amazing. Thanks guys!

I'm not sure why I decided to give this place another chance but I did. Lunch express is supposed to be a 15 min thing. Took ten mins before I was even acknowledged, another ten mins to just get the salad and now I've been waiting about 20 mins since the salad came. Making time promises and not fulfilling them is a bad look.

Picked up a carryout deep dish cheese pizza for carryout. Ordering via the app, the estimated ready time was pretty accurate. The pizza tasted great as always. I also really like their thin pizza which I've had many times. But the reason why Lou Malnati's will never be my favorite pizza is that they use crushed tomatoes which sometimes leaves bits of tomato skin and core in the sauce which I really don't like. I also really like and would recommend ordering garlic bread with added mozzarella cheese rather than the 3 cheese bread. For picking up a pizza to go, there's a separate entrance door on the side of the building exclusively for carryout. Since its still hot & melty, make sure to keep the pizza flat in your car and don't tilt it or all the toppings will slide everywhere & create a mess!

The sauce had no flavor. -supreme pizza 3 - maybe I should have gotten the tavern style because the supercharged pizza tasted doughy and kind of bland. I even reheated it on my pizza stone at home and it does taste better with a crispier crust. However, it was still mid.

I've had some really great arancini before, and these were alright. The sauce was the highlight, with a nice flavor and a slight kick to it. I went with the Fredo, a more traditional-style pizza, and it was pretty solid with good toppings and flavor. The general consensus was that the pizzas were a bit too bready, but they had good flavor, great presentation, and a nice crispy crust. Service was okay. It took a while for our server to take our order, and I wish we had been advised to share a few pizzas instead of ordering individually. Its very hard to find spots that can accommodate our very particular palates, and even more hard to find good vegan options outside of the city. Thats why I was excited to find this lovely Italian restaurant. The parking lot is small but there's a good amount of sidestreet parking. The inside is warm, cozy and super clean (including the restrooms ). The hospitality stood out right away. The owners and wait staff were very welcoming, and our server was fantastic; honest (which I appreciate), knew the menu well, and once she realized our situation, gave us some wonderful direction on what to order. I wouldn't say that the menu is overwhelming, but I rarely go to a restaurant where it takes me that long to decide what I want. There are lots of interesting options, from braised short rib ravioli to baked ziti, and several tasty appetizers (highly recommend the calamari). But we had come for the PIZZA. My daughter got the kids cheese pizza. It was surprisingly bigger than we thought, and at a great price. The kid only ate half before she said, "I like it...this might be better than [insert famous Chicago pizza brand]." (you MUST KNOW that this is high praise from a 3rd grader). My wife ordered the "They Don't Have Beef With Me" vegan Detroit-style pizza, and I have to admit, it was very good. Somehow they pulled off a buttery (but not butter) crust with melty vegan cheese (but NOT cheese ). Absolutely nailed it. I would have eaten more of hers if I hadn't ordered the Butcher pizza from the wood-fired menu. It was OUTSTANDING. Great flavor, perfect texture. Easily one of thee best wood-fired pizzas I've ever had. We're not drinkers, but they do have a good wine list and some nice zero-proof options, including the Amber Apple and The Drip. We didn't make it to dessert, mostly because the portions are generous, so our bellies (and our to-go boxes) were full. We will definitely be back to try other menu options and for dessert. If your family or friend group includes picky palates or dietary restrictions (the pizzas can be made gluten-free as well), then run...don't walk...to Fiammé. 100/10 recommend.
