Went here for the 2019 weekend festival and had a good time. The parking was $20 each day, but they offer you a shuttle to the venue--a nice touch. After the concert, you're on your own to the parking lot (about a 25 minute walk). The venue is pretty big with tons of food vendors, some picnic tables, and other merchants selling clothing and other items. The place is relatively flat and because of the 90+ degree weather, the dirt was dry and created clouds of dirt that you had to breath in. They should have watered it down overnight so it wasn't so dusty. Because of the two main stage set-up, you are best walking to the front middle near the centre aisle. That way you can see both stages easily and lean against the fence. You can also ask the staff for bottle water and they will fill up your water bottle or pour it on you mouth. Getting out of the venue at 11:00pm or midnight was super easy. Not much of a line up at all!

If this is what DWP (Danny Wiemmer Prod.) calls side stage, well, not worth $1800.00, AWFUL EXPERIENCE

The description of PASSES, and what you actually get, totally different. The venue was awful, and if you think side stage means you paid to get there, this is what I saw of my fav band

I chose this festival because of the bands and time of year thinking it would be a little cooler outside. Nope, it was in the 90s and felt like 100. There were sooooooo many people. But the bands were totally worth the migraine I ended up with. I was able to see sum 41, in this moment, rob zombie, Marilyn Manson, and more. The Mac n cheese I got was delicious! My main complaints are that there was so much cigarette smoke I couldn't breathe and kept getting hit with cigarettes which burned my skin. I think having a smoking area could help with that some. I also think having more shaded spots would be nice to help with the heat. The festival grounds were dusty and I blew dust out of my nose for days . Otherwise it was a magical experience in music. Those sign language interpreters were awesome too!

I loved the location this year, the line up and all of it! My only request is more mist fans, water refill stations and port a potties closer to the entrance. I kinda get WHY these things are sparse or where they are located, but at the same time the convenience of having more would be so much better--especially how hot it was!! Otherwise everything was great, the food choices the bars the prices, etc etc! :) Cant wait for next year!

I attended all three days, did VIP payed extra credit just for better toilets, we were on side of stage nothing much VIP about it, also had to pay additional$20 to park, that should be added into VIP pricing. Only because the only perk I had was flushing toilet and a merchandise stand not packed. Concert itself magnificent!!!!

I absolutely love this event! This was my second year of attendance and I must say I do think they stepped up their game from last year. There were more port-a-pots scattered around (still a hike to get to the main bunch though), more food booths (oh so many), I do believe beer was a bit cheaper, they added an extra stage, and they had WWE Wrestling this year! The main topic...the food. Lol! Oh my goodness. I swear there were double the booths and food trucks this go-round. On day one I had bacon mac-n-cheese, a bite of a corn dog, a bite of a bacon corn fritter, and a deep fried oreo with bacon. Bacon was the theme in several places. I wasn't complaining. Everything I ate on day one was delicious! Yeah the food was pricey, but you gotta eat! On day two I had some pulled pork nachos smothered in beans, nacho cheese, pork, sweet bbq sauce and a dollop of sour cream. Those were AWESOME! I don't remember the name of the business but they were the one with the big roasting pig in the front. I also tried the chicken on a stick and the Island Noodles with chicken. Wow!!!! Both so good. I think it's great there were so many different food options, and all the options were yummy. From what I read there were 50,000 people who attended this year. They also adjusted the sound so it didn't disturb the neighbors (they had a bunch of complaints last year). Even though they did tweak a few things it still seemed just as loud to me! It's gotta be. It's Louder Than Life!!!!!!! Can't wait for next year! See ya in 2016 LTL!

No cell phone reception. Almost all taxis in the area are not legit. Beware after the show.

What are the pros and cons (price) of VIP versus GA. What is the difference in viewing the concert first and foremost? All info is welcome.

With VIP you can get very close to the stage, comfortably. Except it's diagonal from the stage. Which to me is fine, you won't be bothered by crowd surfers or most pits. I liked the viewing of the VIP area.… Read more

The fall walk takes place mid-September, usually the weekend after Labor Day. Since Monnik has taken over the walk, things have changed a little bit. But it is still great! Hickory Street, on either side of Burnett, is closed off. There are two outdoor stages set up and bands play all evening and in to the night. In the event of inclement weather, sometimes the performances can be moved indoors at Monnik and maybe Checks. Beer tents, food trucks, cake walks, pull tabs, good music, good people, good times! The other neighborhood bars get in on the fun too, with bands and food or drink specials at spots like the MerryWeather, Nach Bar, Old Hickory Inn, and others. One of the houses near the center point of the walk area has outdoor backyard karaoke. I love this event, I love my neighborhood, and I love my neighbors!

The streets are closed to traffic , folks bring lawn chairs, there are picnic tables set up, which all makes for a fun, festive atmosphere. Food is available at Checks Cafe and a few other surrounding venues. Parking is on the street but usually available within a block of the venue. They typically have 3 or 4 Blues bands on Friday and that many more on Saturday. The event has been going on for years and the crowd is steady but not overbearing. So get a chair next time, sit in the street, listen to great music, catch up with old friends, have a beer and a brat and enjoy the BLUES. All for free, well music and sitting are free, beer not so much.

My husband and I went early enough to not be uncomfortably surrounded by people while visiting the vendor booths. Booths were a mixture of local businesses and groups or small business vendors selling earrings, candles, soaps, cookies, clothing and more. The food vendors were similar to being at the state fair, offering lemonade, corn dogs and funnel cakes. My favorite snack was the popcorn. For the kids they offered a variety of activities - bouncy houses and carnival rides. The Gaslight Festival is actually a few days of events. Most popular activities are the 5k, parade and car show. Street parking can be tough to find but some organizations offer their lot for a small parking fee, which raises money for their group. Keep this in mind if you're wanting to visit a restaurant in the area. (You're likely not going to be able to park at their private lot)

I was impressed with the amount of booths at this festival -- probably two or three blocks' worth. And these booths included a mix of local businesses and nonprofits, artists and cheaper gifts. For example, if you bring a child and want to buy him/her something inexpensive, you can probably find it here. There is also a car show, which is fun to browse, as well as rides, live music and a variety of fair food. The kettle corn stand made the main thoroughfare smell amazing and rightfully so had a decently long line, which included me. A favorite part was that walking the streets of the festival allowed me to slow down enough to really take in the buildings and businesses lining downtown Jtown. I didn't know that Jtown had its on archeological society, for example. It also provided me an opportunity to check out the new Feast BBQ that just opened in downtown Jtown. Parking was decently easy to come by -- an added plus. It seems like Jtown is becoming a more and more popular place to live and do business. It was fun to see all of this on display at the Gaslight Festival.
