We normally go in the restaurant to eat but today I decided to order a delivery. The food is always good and the service is spot on. I like this diner better than the rest in the neighborhood because they don't rush you out here. It's a hidden gem. I ordered my usual grilled chicken wrap with mozzarella cheese. What I love about this place is they grill the chicken to order unlike other diners that grill it early and let it sit there all day. Then they heat it up when you order it and became very rubbery. The reason I know other diners in the neighborhood do this is it takes very little time to get the sandwich. At Dale you have to wait 10-15 minutes to get it and you can taste the freshness. The only problem with this place is there is no parking and right in front the cabs park there to wait for there rides. Other than that this place is a hidden gem and love going there. Breakfast with Bae! Came here on a Tuesday morning. We were able to snag a booth towards the rear of the restaurant. After sitting for what felt like 2mins the waiter came over to take our order. I hadn't even opened the menu yet LOL. I told him we weren't ready and needed some more time. After a few minutes we were ready to place the order so I flagged him down. 5 minutes after he came over to take our order. I had the steak & eggs and my BF had pancakes with eggs and bacon. Overall the meals were decent BUT babyyyyyy within a few hours both of our stomachs were doing the Harlem Shake. I can only assume it was from the eggs because that's the only thing we had the same. Ordered a chicken parm dish from here for delivery and the portion size was huge - definitely enough for two very filling meals. What you get is pretty worth the price you pay. The spaghetti noodles weren't my fave but the chicken was very juicy and cooked well. The flavor of the sauce was great and there seemed to be just the right amount of cheese. I had Salmon Eggs Benedict with home fries, it was excellent except the salmon was too salty; the home fries had pieces of green pepper and onion in it which I like. My friend had eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns and toast. He had so much bacon (six slices) he shared half with me. The portions are large. The coffee was ok. About the salad: - the chicken is completely unseasoned. - most of the lettuce is wilted and brown - they used about .7 cup red onion (I actually measured this because it was ridiculous) - The salad consisted of 75% wilted lettuce, 10% red onion, and 10% plain chicken. I have to used a napkin to dry all the grease. That was the last drop for me. I support my neighborhood business. But they have to understand, That we are not asking for anything for free. Such a reliable place to get good food. My boyfriend and I came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Their staff is super nice and welcoming and attended us quickly. I could eat every meal at this diner and be happy. Look at these pix. What other diner offers a salad with anything but iceberg or romaine lettuce? Their matzo ball soup was better than Riverdale's renowned kosher deli. The food is really good. I haven't had a bad meal there yet. The kitchen cooks the meat exactly to your specs. No red in my medium steak -- and that's RARE, even for a steakhouse. I swear, I used to have to send my steak back at Michael Jordan's. At Louie's Dale Diner, the quality is restaurant-quality, not "typical diner" quality. And the people behind the counter, and the waitresses...they're all so nice and accommodating. I wish the owner would open another one in Knoll's Crescent, where the Kappock Cafe used to be. The neighborhood misses having a good place to eat. Food here is decent for late night eats in an area with extremely minimal options for late-night food. But we ordered a wrap and mozz sticks at 1:50am, and it's now 3:30am and I'm still waiting!!! I contacted Grubhub and they said delivery was out already. Few min later contacted Grubhub again, and they said the food is prepped and ready for delivery! So that means the second time I contacted them they're telling me the food didn't leave?! When the first time I contacted them, the delivery was already out?! Smh doesn't add up! The original time frame for delivery was 3:05-3:15. And then after the second inquiry at 3:30 they had the nerve to tell me another 20 min?! Wow. Absolutely terrible service and unacceptable wait time for a wrap and mozz sticks. I don't care how busy it was for a Friday night, no person should have to wait 2hrs for a delivery.
