We stopped by this bakery shop while strolling along St.Laurent street. There were seatings inside. They sell a large variety of pastries including bread, muffins, croissant,tarts, to name a few. While strolling along Little Italy, we stopped in here - 1 to warm up- it was cold and 2- because I cannot pass by a bakery without popping in! So glad we did so, we found some delicious vegan cookies and bought a few to enjoy during our trip. The pastries looked incredible. On a vacation with my husband and his family, Louise was about a 7 minute walk from our house. We went our first morning of our vacation and were impressed enough that we went back two more times during the trip. The interior is modern minimalist with bright colors and center stage really is the MASSIVE amount of bread and pastries you can order. One of the hard parts about the ordering system here is that you get sort of "picked up" by a staff member helping you before you necessarily have been able to take in the full breadth of all the food offerings they have. Hence why coming back multiple times ended up being important - plus the seasonal rotations they have. The most standout pastry item was a raspberry financier as well as a cinnamon roll. Other honorable mentions include the basic croissant, the palmier, and the meringue. This bakery is worth planning your trip around. read more

My first time trying this gorgeous bakery was filled with guilt as I was in Little Italy and ordering from a French bakery... Few minutes after I was in, I forgot about my guilt and was greeted by a very sweet and patient who employee. I ended up ordering the last piece of blue cheese bread with nuts and Kouign Amann. I absolutely adore this little bakery and make an effort to stop by every weekend. The bread and pastries are delicious and the prices are incredibly reasonable (the 4th item is always free, which makes it tough to hold back!!) I can't believe how good this bakery is! I was overwhelmed by the number of highly rated bakeries in this area and chose this one somewhat at random but was blown away by the cheese croissant--one of the best I've had on this continent easily. I also got a day-old loaf of nut bread that is still so good, three days later, that I'm enjoying it plain and untoasted. Next time, I'll come with a backpack! read more

Here's an initial review but I'll update when I come back and try more! I'm delighted to have a big, bright new bakery in this neighbourhood, and I enjoy the design of the space even now while it's still a bit in transition and getting set up. My friend and I popped in on a rainy afternoon and it was gently busy and owners were there chatting with some contractors about some new developments. The staff behind the counter were quick and friendly and we grabbed a couple of sweets to go. We would have stayed and snacked there to avoid the rain, but in this great big spot there are only 3 stools and they all were taken. We enjoyed the oatmeal cookies for sure, just delicious, but the small apple tarte was mush at the bottom, perhaps undercooked? Not delish. I am very partial to the breads at Automne which is nearby, but I'll be back here soon to try more and keep y'all updated. read more

The croissants and chocolatines are great. Service is quick and people are kind. They have many different styles of bread, croissant,, chocolate bread and sandwiches. The cakes also look amazing. We got a couple of croissants and almond croissants and they're to die for. The only comment that I would add is that some of the staff use gloves, which Is great while others don't. Consistency on hygiene standards would be appreciated. read more

They also offer sandwiches. Seemed like most people coming in purchased their breads rather than their pastries. Would go again if in the area. I am on a bit of a quest to find places named Louise when I found this place in Montreal I had to go and i was not disappointed. The food is fresh and baked on premises. If you order a large bread it's sliced for you. The staff is very helpful. And switched to english when my french failed me I ordered some much stuff chocolate it fixed my addiction and I didn't have to get breakfast for a couple of days. perfect flaky croissants ( with chocolate) my next trip I will head back and get some cakes and more bread read more

Location: Directly across the street from Milano. If you show up before 1 p.m. on a Sunday then street parking is free, otherwise you'll have to feed the meters. The closest subway is (I think) de Castelnau. The place: It's pretty simple so don't expect bells and whistles. The space is bright (and clean!) with high ceilings. You walk in and you're immediately presented with that they've got on offer. This isn't really a sit-down place but more of a pick-up-and-go place. The goods: First off, when you buy 3 items, you get the 4 for free (so the least expensive item is a freebie) - that's awesome. So, as this was my first visit, I decided to try a loaf of bread, a brownie, an olive ciabatta and a double chocolate muffin. The white loaf that I chose (great for toasting - that's what I asked for) is great. It was super fresh and light - I wasn't sure if I was going to like it at first because I usually like something more dense, but it makes for some damn good toasts. The olive ciabatta was also delicious and doughy - but it's not at like the same texture or consistency as an authentic ciabatta (it also lacked flavor). That said, it was still delicious and would be amazing warm with butter. It's just not a proper ciabatta. The brownie was solid - it wasn't too heavy at all, but I'd like it to be chocolatier. The muffin was OK but didn't blow me away. All this to say that everything at Louise was fresh and I think it'll come down to personal preference re: taste and texture. Service: Great! The fellow who served me was super friendly and knew it was my first time (how did he know that!?). I asked for a loaf that would make great toasts and I got exactly that. He also told me about the 4 for 3 deal, which was cool. Price point: My 4 items cost under $8, which is a steal! read more

i love that they sell day-old bread at half price. i have bought fresh baked goods as well. all were good. i was disappointed a little in a pie i bought was ok but nothing spectacular. their prices are very reasonable and today with loaves often costing over $5 love that. they also often have specials and service is quick, very friendly and helpful. the space is bright and clean. i am a regular customer when i am getting bread. you can pick up a couple of loaves even day old bread they will slice for you, and spend under $8 or less. :) read more
