First time shooter here and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Very spacious and clean facility. Prices weren't as expensive as I would have thought (did have a yelp check in coupon). The only negative thing I can point out is the ranger who is suppose to be watching the cameras was sound asleep when we left. The place wasn't very crowded but it is never a good look when an employee is asleep and probably even more concerning since that could be a major safety hazard. Not a good look. I've been going to this specific range for quite some time now. Staff is extremely friendly (so long you obey their rules, which vary from staff member to staff member LOL). Not much to say, it's a basic range. Has decent lanes with decent (not great) lighting. You can rent various handguns or bring your own of course. Ammo is priced around 20-30 percent above online/Walmart cost, which is pretty fair considering how much other ranges charge. They do offer CCW classes for decent prices. It can get packed on the weekends but the wait is usually not terribly long. I think they charge 12 for 30 min and 6$ for another 30 there after. I personally like the place however do attend a few other ranges as well. This place is pretty convenient and accessible since it's right off the 264 highway. Go check it out and have fun. We had a great experience here this past weekend. My husband and I went with some friends to shoot and the four of us had a great time. When we first arrived the guys working the desk up front were welcoming and helpful. They made sure that we had everything that we needed before sending us into the range area. For my husband and I to share a lane and shoot for 30 minutes with two targets it was around $20 which I thought was very reasonable. We didn't purchase any ammunition there so I'm not sure about the availability or prices on that but for what we needed I was happy. We were in a lane right next to our friends which was nice since we were sharing guns and ammo with them. There was plenty of room to stand behind the lanes when you weren't shooting but not really any places to set things besides one folding chair so my friend and I used that for our purses and put the backpack and gun cases on the ground. Not a huge deal but maybe some shelves or more chairs for that stuff would be nice. Each lane had plenty of room on the shelf for our guns and ammo hanging up the targets and sending them down the lane was simple. One of the range staff even gave me some super helpful pointers without making me feel dumb or talking down to me which is really important. I always appreciate pointers assuming they're presented in a nice way and these certainly were. Everything seemed to be clean and well cared for which is nice to see and definitely makes you feel like you're in a safe environment for shooting guns. I will definitely be back again! read more

Well maintained facility. Very likely to return in future. This is NOT a negative review for the assumed reasons, it is because of the SAFETY of the range. Here is how my experience was as a somewhat experienced shooter and a first time shooter at the Louisville Armory. I was treated kindly by the front desk staff, I couldn't praise the gentleman enough for his customer service and attitude with customers. After I was finished shooting he even gave me a tour of the facilities that most people do not see, facilities such as room clearing practice areas and martial art studios for private lessons. There was the good, now here is the BAD. After I finished shooting I went out to the area directly behind the range, near the range officer. He was extremely nice and professional, he was looking at the monitors of the range, but he was ALSO watching the Masters Tournament. I'm not saying he wasn't watching the shooters, I am saying if I am at a gun range it's because I care about having a safe shooting facility that I will not have to worry about getting shot in the back on accident by someone that doesn't know what they're doing. If the range officer was not an issue I would have given this range a 3-3.5 score. This is assuming the range officer was 100% focused on the range, and the service was just as amazing as it was today. The bad aspect of this range is the ventilation which is not awful but far from acceptable in my opinion. I am not sure if I will be a returning customer, the location is very centralized but the safety aspect of the range does concern me. read more

Took my wife here since their website touted the many training classes they provided and they seemed willing to help newcomers. My wife hasn't shot in a long time so I thought I would check this place out and take her with. Although I've shot before and have visited many ranges before, I wanted her to experience it with me by her side. I must say we were very impressed with the staff and they way they helped us out. I explained that although we were not "new" to firearms and we are familiar with them, we still wanted some help. The staff were very helpful and guided my wife through proper handling and safety guidelines. We asked about training classes and he was very helpful with letting us know when the next classes were coming up. I've been to other ranges and this is range is fairly decent. The rates were reasonable and most of all, the help from the staff makes this range one of the best ranges I've visited throughout the country. I've known many people that would like to go to a range but don't out of fear that they may "look stupid" because they don't know anything. Awesome gun range. Staff is really friendly, they also recently renovated as it is much nicer now. You dont hear the gunfire in the reception anymore and can speak normally. One employee took the time to help me become a better shooter while I was on the range. Absolutely great prices hands down, even better military discount for memberships. These lanes are dark! Insufficient lightning. Also, no rear bench to store your gear which I found odd. The ammunition for sale is limited which I found strange. I asked around about this place because I was shocked given all the positive reviews and they had issues with lead contamination due to poor ventilation systems. I frequent this particular range more often because (1) it is closer to home and (2) it is cheaper than my preferred range. Now known as Training Guns & Gear (TG&G), this place has changed names and appearance over the years, but not as much as its latest transformation. With its expanded showroom and additional (larger) classrooms, it is a lot nicer inside than this time last year. And, though I've not tried it out, I hear their new indoor airsoft range is quite fun. I'll try not to sound too negative since their range prices are more than reasonable, but their lack of being able to handle higher caliber handguns and rifles, darkly lit range rooms and dated range equipment makes me a little sad every time I go there. Even with that, I enjoy going there and the guys working their tend to be pretty friendly and helpful. So, in general a good range, just not great. Quick tip...try to always get a lane in the left range room. read more

Bluegrass indoor range is great! The staff is very friendly a knowledgeable and they are always willing to help with any questions you may have. You can buy guns and ammo and if you don't have your own gun you can rent them; the lane time is well priced compared to other indoor ranges in the area. This review is for the shooting range itself. The staff are 5 stars. They're friendly and helpful. The range is a bit dim, but everything is still visible. But the equipment is not well maintained, and several lanes are unusable due to targets sagging where either the wire has come off its supports, or the supports are just broken. Safety is not a concern, however, which is the main thing I suppose. I go here when I shoot by myself. But I go to another range, in Crestwood, when I bring my son shooting. read more

Second visit and a great experience! The folks at the front are truly courteous as are all the staff I encountered. This time around, I even noticed a hook that allowed me to hang my bag close by as I shot. I must say that if you're barred from shooting by the staff, they probably have a good reason. I feel very safe at this range and it is due to the guys here running a tight ship. If you've never handled a firearm before, ask a friend to take you and show you the ropes. My wife and I shoot here a couple times a month. It is clean well lit. All of the employees are friendly and helpful most are shooters and understand guns so if you have questions they can help. Prices are reasonable they have ammo targets and rental guns. Added bonus they have an Ops Supply gun store in there in case you have extra money. Good range as long as the ventilation systems are working properly. Offer many programs and classes at reasonable rates. Low caliber rifles and low number shot shells are permitted as well as handguns. Very helpful staff who knows what their doing and it feels like a good relaxed environment to shoot in. The air handlers at TG&G are horrible. I could only stand about 20 minutes inside their range. No RSO's to be seen and it's dimly lit. Staff was marginally friendly and uninterested. The rental guns were FILTHY! Don't waste your time. read more
