I had a really incredible experience at Range USA Louisville! My father and I scheduled a lesson for a Saturday, and Ken T. was our instructor. Upon our arrival, we were immediately greeted by staff who directed us to a private room for our lesson. Ken was wonderful! He was friendly, thorough, patient, and encouraging. He answered all our questions, and he made us feel comfortable while also ensuring we understood the power of the guns we were handling. The range itself was great! I felt safe the entire time, and I believe they take appropriate safety precautions. We did not have to pay to rent the guns, but we did have to pay for ammunition. I believe this is standard, and it was not a big deal. I do plan to return! read more

This place is incredibly informative & willing to help you find the right product for you! I was there for quite a while trying to purchase my first firearm. Their rental is $20 and you can change out the firearm you are renting. I went through 3-4 pistols in order to find one that worked for me. I actually enjoy coming to this place. It is small. Usually never too crowded and the people are really nice. It is also very clean as well. Here recently, it's been a struggle because they have been low on guns and out of ammo. Also my concern about how serious they are taking Covid. They have masks on their person but do not wear them correctly and some don't have them on at all. I walked in the store and one of the workers masks was literally on his chin with nothing covering nose or mouth. In the gun range, dude had his completely off. I'm trying not to Hold that against them because I know how hard it is to work in retail with a mask on but come on! Besides those things, the people are really nice and very helpful. They will walk you through any gun, show you how to use it and answer whatever questions you have. The people inside the gun range were super helpful as well. They showed me how to use my newly purchased gun and gave me good tips on how to use it to get the best aim. It was super helpful. Heads up- due to the shortage in ammo, if you are not purchasing a firearm, shooting at the range or a member, you cannot buy ammo. This is from corporate and I tried to argue with them about it. I bought a firearm 3 days before I was trying to purchase ammo because at the time, they did not have any ammo. I thought that was unfair since I just bought the gun in that short timeframe from this location and it wasn't allowed for me to purchase off of that. I had to buy range time to shoot. It was corporates rule, not the location. Even though that made me angry and I don't like their mask usage, I will still go there because I really do like the place and how nice everyone typically is. read more

Regarding Mark W's review... imagine not knowing how supply and demand works as an adult. Go to timeout buddy. Yes currently ammo is expensive. Their prices however are comparable to other ranges I've visited. The range is clean, well ventilated and the staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I for one don't mind that they don't allow rapid fire. I've seen too many young adults come in other ranges and break many gun safety rules putting customers at risk for Instagram views. If you're trying to train for whatever you think you need rapid fire "training" for, go to a private range or build your own range. Their gun prices are decent. I've seen higher, I've seen lower. They have a large selection, larger than many other stores I've visited. They take trade ins which is awesome, as that's helped me afford more expensive guns I would normally not look at. My first time at Shoot Point Blank was with a groupon. We were given range time, ammunition, and choice of hand guns with the groupon I purchased. They have ammunition, guns and targets for purchase. We were very impressed with the facility that we have made several trips back to shoot our own guns. My fiance most recently purchased a gun and case which included 1 free hour of range time with purchase. Sign up for their emails to receive updates on current promotions. The staff that works here are all very friendly and willing to help. My first time visiting they were quick to recommend the best gun for me to try out. Our most recent visit this weekend Jeremy (I think that's what his name was) was so helpful in getting us all set up for the range. The range safety staff walks between the two ranges and is keeping the area clear of shell casings. I'm an ameture when it comes to visiting the gun range but I really enjoy coming to Shoot Point Blank. The facilities and bathrooms are always clean. We don't come as often as we would like because the location is not convenient to our home. Shout out to the great staff we encounter every time we have visited Shoot Point Blank. read more

If I could leave no Star I would. Customer service is awful. employees are clueless. I did a background check on a firearm I purchased online and sent it to range USA. Since I am a permanent resident I was on a delayed status which I new I would take a little longer. My background check came back 3 days after I started the process but It took 2 WEEKS for "corporate" to approved it as well. In what world do you have to include corporate in this process??? If the Feds clear the background check it means I'm done and I should be able to retrieve my firearm!! They never gave me a call back. I had to call them everyday for them to finally tell me that my background check came back a week prior. And their transfer fee is $100 ! This is the worst experience I've ever had Who charges $100 for a transfer fee ! this is stealing ! Avoid this place at all cost! instead go to Kentucky Gun Company or Louisville Armory. This is the best gun range! Period! I love the fact that they always have a Safety Officer in the range! Some ranges. While they have someone watching, they tend to act more like a drill sergeant, screaming and talking down to everyone It's super clean, well lite, and comfortable The ventilation system is incredible, some from the guns is pulled down range not back at you as most ranges do. I had a great time! We decided to go on a dreary day and I'm glad he suggested it! I hadn't shot a gun in about 30 years but I was pretty impressed with how I did! We walked in and and the customer service was fast friendly and welcoming. They needed a few documents from us. We were registered. Signed a waiver and we were good to go. They offer eye and ear protection and targets pretty inexpensive. I think for both of us to shoot for 30 minutes. Added on one set of eye wear. One set of ear protection. And 2 targets. It was around 27$. I think it was way better than a day sitting around or going to a mall. read more

I can't speak for everyone but I will say that this range is one of my favorites. I've been here with friends and with my wife as well and we were treated with the upmost respect regardless the situation. There has been some places my wife and I have been and we were treated differently because "she's a lady" My wife knows more than I do and she is a better shot than most I know so when she's treated differently it makes me see red. With this range we have never experienced this an we were always treated like a normal human being. I have now been to 3 gun ranges. 2 indoor and 1 outdoor. Of course I prefer outdoor because that's just my preference but when it's cold or nasty out this one has to be my favorite by far. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The range sergeant or whatever they are called was very nice and on top of things. My favorite part probably were the clocks on the wall that tell you how long you have left. I hate having to try and keep track myself. I loved the variety of targets they offered. I believe they had 24 lanes. Either way I went on a Saturday around 2pm and didn't have to wait for a lane. It was a little packed and they only had a couple lanes open. read more

Gun control opinions aside, Shoot Point Blank located in the Middletown area of Louisville is an amazing place to get training on how to handle a firearm, practice your shooting, or legally handle a gun and release some stress. I've handled quite a number of firearms across different settings including a couple of different gun ranges in Louisville and finally made my first visit to Shoot Point Blank a week ago. I'm impressed. This gun range and shop should be what other similar businesses should aspire to. Shoot Point Blank's professionalism and structure is along the lines of military standards. Where I felt that other gun ranges felt more mom and pop casual, Shoot Point Blank has ensured the business operates with a high standard of courtesy, professionalism, and safety in mind. I've been to gun ranges where I can shoot alone and for the first time with no issue, where a place is used to the regulars that they slack on shop cleanliness, where one shooter can vouch for a group and only produce one identification for the entire bunch, and where a shop hands a gun to even a first time shooter expecting them to correctly check that the gun is safe and clear. Shoot Point Blank does things correctly to avoid some uncomfortable scenarios that I am sure have happened without safety in mind at those other shops. I even took a group of first time shooters(didn't know none of them had ever handled a gun at that time) to another gun range one time and they were handed guns and these people had the guns pointed in directions that should never be pointed and with fingers even on triggers. Shoot Point Blank requires identification from every shooter and won't let a person coming in alone shoot if it's their first time at their gun range. Also if you rent a handgun from them and require safety glasses and ear protection ( tell them you need "eyes" and "ears" to sound like you know what you are talking about with your request), they place all this in a plastic tote that you can step away with from the gun range check in area. This alone helps with all those uncomfortable scenarios with inexperienced shooters like the one I mentioned; it helps with safety issues and with embarrassing moments for both the shooter and the shop. In addition to all of this, once you step inside the live fire area, this gun range had a couple of range officers present to ensure everyone was operating in a safe manner and to assist anyone with questions on gun operation or range equipment. At those other mom and pop casual type ranges, you're on your own even if you're a first time shooter. A big round of applause to Shoot Point Blank for this. If it's your first time at this gun range you'll sign a liability form that's cheaper than your Starbucks Frappuccino (about $3.50), if you rent a handgun it's $10 per gun, $15 for a long gun, and it's $12-$15 for a half hour on the range depending on the firearm. You'll also shell out a few dollars for your choice of target and they have about half a dozen you can choose from. You'll spend somewhere around $25 a person for a half hour of an adrenaline rush even though you're trying to stay calm to focus on accurately shooting your target. Definitely worth the money in my opinion. I mean, that's cheaper than a half hour of drinking for most people. The firearm shop/showroom is also something Shoot Point Blank can brag about. Let me explain it to you this way with no intention of offending anyone; where other gun shops are like Walmart, Shoot Point Blank is like Best Buy in looks. The shop's lighting, cleanliness, shop layout, and product presentation has been carefully thought out. Also every single employee I came across was extremely kind and professional that I was a bit taken aback about how everyone could be so on point with the kindness and professionalism. People, strangers, friends, Yelpers- try this place out if you're looking for a fun night out, a night away from drinking (you could always drink afterwards though), a different type of date night, or if you're wanting some new excitement in your life. If you feel you need a class or help before you commit to approaching the gun range check in area this place has classes on most days of the week. And they have actual classrooms with desks and a board and an instructor up front to ensure you're prepared to handle a gun if you feel you want or need that. Shoot Point Blank, you're a round above other gun shops in Louisville and I hope more people pull the trigger on unloading some cash on this business because you're ranges ahead of those other places in town. My wife purchased me a gun as a gift here. With that included several secession of range time. We also took our concealed carry permit class, as I have been told it is the best safety class to take. The class in 8 hours, including two hours on the range. Our instructor Alex. Was patient, informative, humorous, and a great instructor. The class itself covers safety, gun control, maintenance, and legally required parts for state of KY, and a large amount of practical knowledge. DO NOT PROCESS SUPPRESSORS OR ANY NFA ITEMS THROUGH RANGE USA... YOU WILL REGRET YOUR DECISION. I processed five suppressors, at one time, through the Louisville Range USA store. I performed my administrative part correctly and waited over five months for my ATF Form 4s which ultimately all five were disapproved. The ATF Form 4s were disapproved due to the failure on the part of Range USA employees gross incompetence. Now that I wasted over five months I am literally left with very few options. I can't recover lost time. I would lose about $1,000 if I return the five suppressors. My only reasonable option and it truly pains me to admit this publicly, is to allow this very same incompetent, apathetic staff of employees to process my ATF Form 4 s all over again. That said, you are probably asking yourself if I receive my suppressors sooner than later due to the incompetence of employees at Range USA?... nope. Sadly, I will most likely wait yet another five plus months due to the employees of Range USA Louisville Kentucky store. Simply pitiful, shameful and totally unnecessary. PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE... DO NOT PROCESS SUPPRESSORS IOR OTHER NFA ITEMS THROUGH RANGE USA. I SUSPECT THAT THEIR INCOMPETENCE HAS HAD ADVERSE IMPACT ON MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS WHO PROCESSED ATF FORM 4s AS WELL. I absolutely hate this place. The workers there are so rude and only help you if they think you're someone who's going spend a ton of money or one of the regulars. Well, I do spend money on ammunition and like to practice shooting my gun. I will not be giving them another chance. Great store with lots of variety in stock. The friendly staff members really know their products and the industry (many are ex-military) and they are happy to help new-comers and expert shooters alike. The excellent indoor range (as well as the store) is well-lit and clean. The simple two-way toggle switch for moving your target up or down range is very easy to use. There is always a range 'safety officer' monitoring the activities to make sure everyone is being safe and to address any questions or issues shooters may have. Classes are great as well- with many having online options with course materials you can continue to access for review (or retake) for up to a year. There are several classrooms for in-person group instruction and they also offer private, one-on-one lessons. They also offer a nice discount on firearms and merchandise to all students on the day of the class. The instructors are really good and all the guys I've taken classes from came from strong military backgrounds. Just about anything you might ever want to know about firearms and firearm ownership, they have the answers. They can also clean, service and modify your firearms. Web site is easy to use and order from or sign up for classes. Store is also currently well-stocked with walls covered with and display cases full of firearms. They also have plenty of the most common ammo types such as 9mm and 5.56 (no purchase limits as of this review) and other products and accessories. Memberships are available and they more than pay for themselves if you even go to the range a few times a month and/or take classes (one class is free every month for 'premium' members and many of the classes cost as much or more than the monthly membership). There are many other great perks for members as well. This is a very professional operation that focuses almost exclusively on firearms and firearms training and education for the general public. They also honor the 'Brady Law' so if there is a delay in your background check, they will still sell you the firearm after three days. Shoot Point Blank is a great operation that respects their customers (and their rights). They provide excellent products, training, service and support. He was able to relax everyone while keeping us aware of the importance of the subject matter. Actually shooting was done professionally but with the spirit that we should enjoy it! This is a very nice indoor range. While I don't shoot at indoor ranges often, I decided to give point blank a try and glad I did. They have range officers present the entire time someone is on the range ensuring everyone operates in a safe manner. The ventilation system works well, nice range equipment and the range in general is well kept. You're not stepping on shell casings from the moment you enter like other ranges. The staff was helpful in addressing whatever was needed. You can pay to shoot hourly or get a monthly membership which may be a better value if you plan to visit more than once a month. The "all access pass" (there are other memberships available) I purchased is $60/month and gives unlimited time on any range at any location, allows a free guest, reservations for the range and unlimited free rentals. If you're military/L.E. you save 50% so it's $30/month, unbeatable in my opinion and well worth every penny. read more

I have been to Point Blank several times now, and there are a few things I really like about this shooting range. First, the employees are very knowledgeable of their craft and give honest feedback, with many of them being former military or law enforcement. They are helpful and I never get far without someone greeting and asking to help Second, they give outstanding membership discounts to military and first responders (I'm not any of those, but highly respect them). They also support excellent causes like Wounded Warriors. Third, the prices are competitive and they frequently have sales on specific firearms. They will match or beat advertised prices from competitors as well. As a sidenote, it is easy to find what you're looking for due to a user-friendly store setup. Last but not least, the range is nice, easy to operate, and they will often allow you to test fire a gun if you are interested in buying. All of these make Point Blank a pretty ideal choice for me. read more

I've gone to Point Blank on multiple occasions, and every time, the customer service experience is always better than my last visit! Everyone is so welcoming, and EXTREMELY helpful! The first time I went, I was terrified, as I'd never fired a weapon before. However, the range safety officer was instructive and very patient. Today I took my mom, she was a first timer and had never fired a weapon. The Safety Officer on duty was Danny, and he was AWESOME! I thought he was a CCDW instructor, that's how good of a teacher he is. He was VERY knowledgeable, extremely kind, patient, approachable and professional. By the time myself and my mom left, she felt like Clint Eastwood in the movie Outlaw lol. He'd help to instill a level of confidence in her ability to handle a fire arm, that she didn't have when we first walked in. I can't thank him enough!!!! This was the gun range that a person should consistently expect, nothing fancy but on par with the standard expectations of a good gun range. The in store shop wasn't great with their selection or quality(specifically with IWB holsters for a Glock 26). But they did have all the essentials for ammunition and cleaning equipment. I didn't look at the gun counters for what they sell but it looked nice and extensive. If you want a gun range that is nothing special but has excellent staff, range officers, and range ventilation, this is the place for you. read more

This place rules! They awesome with the amount of space they have to work with, specifically with the ranges. I think having 2 ranges to separate the larger caliber rifles from the smaller handguns was by far the biggest power move made thoughtful the store. Another thing I really like is the amount of options they give you for rentals they have everything you could want as a beginner and stuff to keep you entertained as an experienced marksman. The staff is always polite and willing to help, every staff member that I have talked too has also been very knowledgeable with all the products that they offer. I will have to say though my favorite part is the membership options, with different levels of memberships ranging in price and perks they have something to fit everyone wanting to get involved. Basically they are price gougers in my opinion. The moment ammo got a little scarce they radically upped their prices like 5X. Today, when ammo is now readily available again, they keep sending me emails talking about how scarce ammo is (which is a lie) and how lucky I am they are willing to sell at 3X the current market price. No thanks Douchbags! Also I have heard that one of their employees is intercepting ammo shipments and selling it himself to unknowing people at inflated prices. If you go shooting there they yell at you if you shoot more that 1 round every 3 seconds. Don't go. Don't buy there. Just avoid it. read more

My wife has had a fear of guns for years because of her uncle being shot and killed as a child. She recently told me that she was interested in going shooting, but wanted to take a class first, so I looked into Point Blank because it is near our house and we pass it on the way home almost every day. I found and booked one of their personal instructors and explained to him my wife's fear. When we arrived there this morning and met Daryl, he was warm and welcoming. I could still see the hesitation on her face, but watched that slowly faded away as Daryl payed close attention to teaching us about gun safety and the guns we would be shooting in a classroom before we even went into the shooting range. He walked us through shooting stance and hold the guns (leaving no detail out) before a single round of ammo was loaded into the guns we shot. By the time we got into our lane in the range, my wife was less hesitant. Daryl stayed by her side and walked her through loading, aiming, and shooting the guns, giving her encouragement along the way. It was a fantastic experience and well worth the $100 for the private class and $20 for ammo. My wife enjoyed herself and is now comfortable enough that she said she'd be interested in going back again sometime! read more

I must be blessed to have come across this gun range. I have been to so many gun ranges and yet none of them will ever be close to these guys. The front desk gentleman was very polite and courteous. We had a brief discussion about the choice of gun to shoot, their efficiency, ammo, etc. They have two different ranges, state of the art facility and yes very very clean. The gun range officer was super nice and super helpful. After shooting the rifle, I told the front desk gentleman that I have been wanting to shoot the S&W .500 magnum for a very long time, but was always hesitant. He looked at me and said just do it. I said all right let's do it. Now the range folks are all happy and excited for me as well. I get the taste of Southern hospitality when this navy veteran jumps in to guide me with the process. Well Sir, I definitely owe you a drink. Thanks to you, I learnt to shoot this gun in less than 5 minutes. I heard from folks that its a very strong handgun, be careful, you're going to hurt your wrists, bla bla - stop the nonsense. I fired ten rounds like I was cutting my B'day cake. Just the right amount of guidance from the right person can totally change the way you think. I don't mind driving down from Chicago everytime I wanna use a range because this is exactly how you do it. Treat folks right, teach them and guide them.
