Great speakeasy with a cool story. As soon as you enter, a person invites you to a secret door behind the bookshelf. But first you must solve the riddle your greeter lays out and find the right book on the shelf. It's something different and interesting. Once you enter, you'll find a cute intimate bar. The ambiance boasts a lot of dark wood and dim lighting. It makes it a nice place for a date or even a group of friends or colleagues. The drinks and cocktails are tasty and they always make a unique one depending on the time of the year or event at hand. The service is great too. The bartender/mixologist is always very knowledgeable and will make suggestions based upon your likes/dislikes. I'd definitely recommend visiting this place

Before entering, we had to locate the book of the day. Lily was a great librarian! I almost signed up for a library card. If I didn't live in California, best believe I would've signed up for one! Service was precise, room was dimly lit, and drinks tasted great! Very low-key, vintage, and exclusive. 9/10

Were you born in the wrong era? Do you want to have a casual drink but feel like you're being naughty? Do you like liquid secrets? Well, this library is for you!! Absolutely charming and mysterious. Such a beautifully designed establishment with all the elegant style of an eclectic bar from the prohibition. The private entrance is fun and interactive. Once the well hidden wall of books is opened, you are brought into a quaint and classy bar with some of the best bartenders I have run across in Brevard. Let them make you a surprise drink! They truly know their craft and have true mixology talent to create something that you can't help but love and oooh and ahhh over.

In Melbourne, Florida's artsy Eau Gallie, Lord Library hides a speakeasy gem. Flash a book--chosen after a quirky literary quiz--and the bookcase opens to a cozy bar. Sip impeccable old-fashioneds, crafted with smoky bourbon and Luxardo cherries. Intimate, jazzy vibes demand reservations. Pure magic in a glass.

    Inside the Library

Lourdes Lounge: Where Cocktails Get a Library Card Library Cards and Libations! This place is not your average bar. You enter through a literal library (yes, like books and everything), in small, mysterious groups--like you're joining a secret society of stylish drinkers. ‍ Once inside, the vibe is pure vintage jazz club. Staff are dressed like they time-traveled from the 1920s, and the drinks? Wildly inventive. One was bubble gum tequila + ??? = surprisingly delicious chaos. To get in, you need a "library card": $5 for a temp pass $40 for a year-long membership And if you upgrade within a week, they knock off the $5. Smart and classy. Dress code alert: No gym wear, no sloppiness, and absolutely no Crocs. (Seriously, they mean it. Your foam footwear will be judged.) If you're in the Eau Gallie Art District and want to sip something strange while feeling like a jazz-age legend, Lourdes Lounge is the spot. #SpeakeasyVibes #JazzClubEnergy #CocktailCulture #LibraryLounge #BubbleGumTequila #DrinkDifferent #VintageVibes #NoCrocsAllowed #EauGallieArtDistrict #MelbourneFLNights #FloridaHiddenGems #IndianHarbourBeach #EGADlife #SupportLocalSpots #DressToImpress #RetroStyle #1920sVibes #SipInStyle #ArtOfTheDrink

Speakeasy in the Art District. When you enter you will be met by a Friendly very knowledgeable librarian. They will ask you a few questions, and ask you if you are looking for a particular book. To the right of librarian you will see a chalk board with the name of book and author. Now you are left to find that featured book. Once you find and bring to librarian to "check out" , they will inform you of the membership choices. You can choose a $5.00 member ship that is good for 7 days. Or you can choose the $40.00 one year membership. If you want to just give it a try without committing for a year the $5.00 option is your bet. But you will love this bar and will want the year membership. If you decide within the week they discount the $5.00 you previously paid from membership. Once inside you will find a Cozy space with seating at the bar some chairs to the side and couple of very cozy couches. The people behind the bar are amazing at their crafts Not your ordinary bartenders. I always hope to sit at the bar so I can watch the MAGIC!

Absolutely loved the vibe! When we got there, the librarian was so kind and lively. She had us locate the book of the week and upon finding it allowed us entry to the well lit, quaint speakeasy. The bartenders were amazing. I absolutely loved the lavender mule that I ordered. The second drink I got was a custom drink and I gave the bartender key words and she crafted a drink that represented the words that I gave her. It was a gorgeous drink with an extremely memorable taste. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. My partner also got drinks that he enjoyed. We will be back soon! We loved dressing up for the jazz vibe and the theme made it feel very romantic and exciting! If you're out in Melbourne this place is a must!

My friends and I decided to check out Lourdes Library after I had seen it on social media. Upon entering the "library," you are greeted by a librarian who asks if you're interested in checking out a book (book of the week posted on their Facebook page but my other friend say it was also posted inside the library as well). You are then tasked with finding that book along the walls and being to the librarian. After all of that, you can purchase a membership ($5 for a week long pass and $45 for a yearly pass) to get into the speakeasy behind the library. Before letting us in, our librarian, Meredith, offered to take our group's picture as we were celebrating a birthday that day and all of our birthdays within January, which was very nice touch! Once inside the bar, the ambiance is swanky and a "vibe" as I'd like to call it. We arrived right after they opened so we were the only patrons inside. Our bartenders were super friendly and eager to recommend their top cocktails tailored by our spirit preference. They have a ton of drinks to choose from. As a group, we had the Amaretto Sour, Be a Peach, red and white wines, as well as a smores cocktail. Everything was delicious but the smores cocktail specifically was very strong for my friend's personal tastes. Overall, the bartenders continuously checked on us and kept the drinks flowing. I have to say that the bartenders are true mixologists and craft every cocktail with the utmost craftsmanship! Only downside is they only have trail mix variations for "bites," so would recommend eating prior to visiting. I also should mention that parking is limited at the front of the library, even when we got there at opening, so we had to rely on street parking and would recommend carpooling to make it easier on a group. Overall, I would highly recommend checking this place out. The bar is decently sized, which filled up over time as we were enjoying our drinks but I believe the librarians keep track of occupancy as you enter so that the place won't get too crowded. We will be back!

Since my initial review, I have become a regular here. At this point, it's been worth the yearly membership purchase. From the location, ambiance, and hospitality...you cannot find it in many places in the area. The whole crew at Lourde's is amazing and makes the experience that much better. Each person here carefully curates every cocktail and is consistent each time. I recommend coming during the week since it's not as busy and taking a seat at the bar. It's always fun to observe how the drinks are crafted and getting to know the bartenders a bit more. If you are not sure of what drink to order, let them know the flavor profile you are most fond of and they will give you a few suggestions!

Treat yourself to a fantastic evening! From entrance to exit, Lourdes Library was absolutely splendid. We walked in and met with librarian Meredith who was so kind and personable. We had looked up the password book title ahead of time (check out their Facebook weekly!) so it was as easy as finding the book on the shelf to enter the speakeasy. The bartenders Jimena and Ethan worked fast and made some of the best cocktails I've ever had. For our first round I ordered the Amalfi Coast Sour. Freaking incredible. So smooth, not too sweet, and immediately added to my favorites. We had a group of about 13 people for a birthday and thankfully got in before it was too crowded. A few others ordered the Amalfi Coast Sour at my encouragement and they all said it was one of the best drinks they've ever had. For our second round I ordered the Lourdes of the Mule. Another fantastic cocktail. I favored the first over the second, but both were made expertly. Excited to come back and try more of the menu!

Lourdes Library 587 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., Unit 105 Melbourne, FL 32935 5 Stars I haven't been intoxicated since November of 2023; however, when Lourdes Library popped up, I decided it was time and I am damn glad I did. This speakeasy is owned by the purveyors of another Big Boy Dining Out 5-Star restaurant, the Salty Fox. Once again, they have gone all out to deliver an amazing experience. I messaged a week ahead to request four specific drinks (I only mention three as that was all I got to before reaching the full mark). They nailed each and every one I sampled. I get ahead of myself. When I walked in, I was greeted by Ethan, The Bar Director, and as I turned my gaze, I was FLOORED to see Jimena, the bartender and famed Aztec Goddess, whom I had not seen in five years since a review in Vero Beach. Now I knew things were going to be great. When you enter Lourdes Library, it looks just like that. A bookstore (remember those?) with bookshelves crammed with books lining the walls and a Librarian. She sizes you up and, based on her vast experience of dealing with people, suggests a book just for you. After scanning the shelves, you locate it. Once you pull it out the bookcase opens. At this point, I wished I was dressed like James Cagney as the bookcase closed behind me, and I found myself in the midst of a hidden speakeasy. Top of the world, Ma! Top of the world! I was approached by Jimena and said, "I am looking to consume four specific drinks." She led me to my spot and was off to gather my libations. I had asked for a Jack Rose, a Whiskey Sour, a Sidecar, and a fourth I did not consume, all with top-shelf liquor. The mixologist was on top of their game, as each cocktail was a monument to its namesake. They were all perfectly blended. This was absolutely, without a doubt the greatest drinking establishment I have ever entered. By far. There is a dress code so look into that before your excursion back in time. The Big Boy says, "If you don't go you will be missing an experience of a lifetime. Tell Jimena the Big Boy sent you."

Ethan is the man!! Excellent craft cocktails and a unique experience if you are into speakeasy's. Perfect for date night. Dress code applies. And enjoy the spectacle of true bar keepers perfecting their craft.
