On our day trip to LaConnor, we stopped in at The Rex to see what they're offering. We learned that the new owners, Karl & Jane, just opened a few days ago. This place is being revamped into a dessert bar. They are currently offering cold beverages, gelato and Lopez Island ice cream, along with sandwiches, fresh pies and other baked goods. We got some ice cream and of course, had to try the homemade chocolate chip cookie. It was a nice treat! I'm liking what we're seeing so far and will check them out again in a few months to see how they are progressing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a cute place with friendly owners![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is ample patio seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

If I could give zero stars I would. If you're a poc I would avoid this place. The moment my family and I entered the doors we got ugly looks from not only the staff but customers as well. We got sat after a while of waiting. And never got menus. The moment a a big group of Americans arrived they got greeted, sat and got menus while we were still waiting for menus or even water. We ended up leaving after they skipped us and went straight to the people that had just gotten sat, their ordered taken. Very disappointing

Great new spot in the Skagit Valley. My burger was delicious and the perfect size - The Bitty Burger. Good, cold drinks and wonderful service. Newly opened in March 2026. Hand cut fries!! So good. Worth the stop!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun bar, big tv for sports and such.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Will have live, outdoor music starting April 3.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Huge double scoop!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such an adorable ice cream dessert shop, love the.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered ice cream and . As you can see from the picture, the ice cream scoops are huge! I think they are revamping the storefront next-door into a restaurant possible bar. I would definitely come back when visiting family again.

We stopped in for dinner after a day of riding and checking out the daffodil fields in La Conner, the food was excellent and the staff were wonderful A+ service, the charcuterie board was awesome as was the roast beef dip and the smashed burger, chatted with the owner for a bit very nice guy makes you feel very welcome, we highly recommend this place to everyone.

We decided to come here as a quick lunch stop. The owner and the young woman running the place are both very nice and the food/dessert portions are well worth the price. ~$45 for two large sandwiches, chips, and drinks (included 20% tip). They also had beautiful home-made desserts. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor seating was absolutely beautiful as well![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Well worth the drive and price!

We were running errands in town & I had seen the BrewCade on a local fb group. We decided to stop in. Games, beer, what could go wrong? Everything went *right*. The bartender was welcoming, friendly, prepared, great selection of beers on tap & in the fridge. Yum! The games were so fun. I expected to feel intimidated (Think: Stranger Things/80s movie arcade competitions), but no. Big Buck Hunter, NBA jam, PinBall of every shape & size; Jurassic Park, racing games! My bf turned into a giddy 12 yr old again - & same! Another huge plus is the TVs. Yes. Why has it always felt so hard to watch the game at a bar in Stanwood? The BrewCade appears to be designed by someone that *also* wants to watch the game at a bar. Deep joy. While there is no in-house food, they had snacks for sale & there are 4 restaurants within the same complex. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. Shockingly - prices were GREAT. $6 for a beer. $0.50-$1 per game! At most venues in AZ, I would expect to pay at least double that. I could have spent all day here. We will absolutely be back!

The patio faces one of the main streets so there was lots of good people watching. I ordered a beer flight and was very satisfied with all four of my selections: Prickly Pear Kolsch - it was creamy and easy to drink, bursting with prickly pear flavor; just the right amount of tart and sweet. Lightly Buzzed Honey Lavender Blonde - my favorite of the flight; it was very hoppy but light and refreshing and well balanced by intense lavender flavor and a smooth honey finish. Get it! You won't regret it. High Five Hefe - lighter/less hazy and more hoppy than most hefes it made for a unique and complimentary beer on my flight. Pommeroys Citra Pale Ale - a perfect West Coast IPA. To eat, my pup got the Lucky Dog hamburger (which the chef pre-cut) and loved it! He chowed down in less than a minute. And I got the Mac & Cheese Burger (sub a veggie patty) with the Garlic Fries. It was a very indulgent meal to say the least. The burger was loaded with so much Mac & Cheese that I couldn't even put the top bun on it and pick it up. lol I had to knife and fork the whole thing which was totally worth it. The Mac is a classic home style recipe (think Stouffers but better). Their fries are shoestring and super crispy and salty. And they loaded those up with an amazing garlic aioli and Parmesan. I got a side of their house-made curry aioli and was obsessed with it. Every fry that didn't have sauce or parm got a dip in that deliciousness and I added it to quite a few of the burger bites too. All in all, a great brewpub that I look forward to returning to in the future!

Our server was Rainey, she was awesome, very attentive, and came to our table right away to take our order. The atmosphere at Temperate Habits is very nice, there is outside seating but we sat inside due to the bright evening sun. Our meals took quite a while to arrive, I think we were at the tail end of the dinner rush and my guess is they have a small kitchen. My classic cheeseburger was about the most generic, predictable, and utterly boring burger I could imagine, and for $17 I would certainly not return for that or the mundane shoestring fries. The burger patty, bun, and fries were all non creative and the there was nothing even the slightest bit unique about my burger, in fact I swear it is the exact same burger that the Skagit River Brewery serves just around the corner. The surprise entree was the Crab and Lobster Tots, now whoever thought that would be good? The plate looked very strange to say the least but I have to say.... this dish was really good! So you'd think if they could create that total mayhem of a dish that they could get far more creative with the burgers and least have a house burger sauce or a higher quality bun for $17, something? I might return to Temperate Habits to have a drink with friends and share some tots, because they give you a large enough portion for four people, but I would certainly look elsewhere for a good burger. 5 stars for atmosphere and service, 1 star for the burger, 4 stars for the tots.

For what feels like no apparent reason. The bartender slinging beers--truly seemed annoyed and miserable with his life. And then the woman taking food orders? Also acted very inconvenienced. It was just kind of unsettling and unwelcoming. And then there's the part about the unexplained wait time for our food order. My sister ordered after us and received her brisket nachos in what felt like a timely manner. 10-15-20 minutes went by before we finally inquired about the wait of our brisket poutine. The same lady who took our order just matter-of-factly told us, "it's still being worked on," before another employee came to offer more of an explanation, stating that their ticket system had failed and missed some orders. At that point, we just wanted to cancel the order altogether and get on our way, but we were assured that it was being prepared. So then we opted to take it to go. Overall, what a wildly disappointing dining experience. Our to-go poutine had 3 whole cheese curds (had to pay for extra) and brisket that looked like dog kibble. I hate to dog on establishments, but this is one I really cannot recommend.

I came for the food -- in my case a Reuben sandwich stuffed to the gills -- and coleslaw, though obviously most people choose fries in one of the available variants. The food was promised for 15-minutes, but took less than 10 -- I like it when promises are kept or even exceeded. The pub had three distinct seating areas: outside in the courtyard, outside under a deck (sheltered, with transparent vinyl sheeting to block the wind, and inside. This is a place where you order and pay at the bar, then find yourself a seat. It's not fancy, it's not upscale, but it's solid with good food and brews. The service was friendly and competent, but young and a touch overly enthusiastic (I'm not fond of being repeatedly called "my man" - not so much because it's excessively familiar - which it is, but because the enthusiastic repetition of the phrase at every chance is a bit forced and formulaic).
