Our first experience with Plumbums was excellent - we had an emergency issue, Jim was able to come…read moreout within an hour or two and get it fixed, and he was on his way. When our pipes froze during the big storm this January (thankfully, without water in them), we decided to hire Plumbums again. That didn't go as well. Quality of work: The fixes Jim suggested (a series of individual junction fixes) seemed reasonable for the repairs needed, but in some cases replacing whole sections would have been more time- and cost-efficient (according to other plumbers we've had in our home who have seen the work done). And we needed four return visits within our first three days living in the house to address issues that had not been resolved or that popped up as soon as we turned systems on. One problem (heat running constantly on our first floor, making the house over 80 degrees in the winter) was unresolved until I researched possible causes myself and communicated that to Jim, who sent out one of his guys to implement the fix. Professionalism: We were frustrated by the lack of care shown toward our property. Jim's guys left plumbing debris (not just the stuff our homeowner's insurance requested, but just straight-up trash), food trash, and drywall dust in our basement and living areas. This means that the first thing we had to do after driving 3,200 miles to move in was clean up after them. Drywall was removed roughly in several locations, and although patching was not included in the estimate, the cuts themselves appeared unnecessarily sloppy (and our new plumber neatly cuts and replaces drywall as a matter of course, leaving the mudding to us, which is fine). Plumbums did work well with our insurance company to get our claim handled, and ultimately we have working plumbing. But our experience wasn't great.

This is my first time using Roto-Rooter. This situation was extreme, my cousins(who are extremely…read morehandicapped and have an aid living with them) home was backing up with water and sewage from the drain system in the house. Keep in mind that they are not able to leave the house on there own and must be helped in everything they do( ages 64 and 66 years). I was notified on a Friday that the drainage system was backing up, so I called Roto-Rooter Service on Friday and they came right out to see if they could clear the pipe. Unfortunately the serviceman could not clear the drain system. With that he told me that the system was one that was put in many years age and it would be impossible to do it the regular way. He then called another person in the organization and asked him to come out to talk with me about excavating the pipe and repairing it. Within an hour the Sewer Solution Specialist was at the door and explaining what had to be done in order for my cousins to be able to use the facilities again. While we were discussing the job to be done another person from Roto-Rooter had arrived and waited patiently until I was finished talking to the Specialist. This person from Roto-Rooter was a restoration specialist for any damage done due to the water and sewage backup, (I wasn't even thinking about that at this time). After we looked at the down stairs bathroom and found massive problems with it, he explained that his company could take care of the restoration and he would co-ordinate with the insurance company. Well to say the least this was a great help to me and when I called the insurance company they said they would send and estimator to look at the damage. Now getting back to the Sewer Solution Specialist he gave me a price and said that he could have the job done tomorrow so the people in the house could use the water and more importantly the toilets again. I told him to go ahead with the job and the restoration guy to wait until the insurance people give me the go ahead which would be in a few days. Well the next morning the Excavation team was there on time and ready to go. Within a few hours after working thru lunch they had the pipe repaired (which was no small task) and had interfaced with the town inspector so they could cover the hole and finish the project that day. This was very impressive! In the next few days the Rotor-Rooter Restoration Specialist called back to see how the insurance company was doing. I told him I had just finished talking with the estimator and he was going to the house this afternoon. At that point the Roto-Rooter specialist said he would co-ordinate with the insurance person and let me know how it worked out. Again this was a great help. In the end I can not say enough about the excellent service that Rotor-Rooter gave to my family and the excellent work they did. I have had many contractors that I have worked with in my life and most I would never rehire again. That is not the case with Roto-Rooter!! I would recommend this company to anyone with a drainage and sewer problem!

I call Bill in the afternoon and he was at my condo by 7:30 AM the next day. That was the time he told me he would be out. He rebuilt both toilets, reseated one. We had a very shaky toilet that another plumber "fixed" 5 months prior. Mike got down to the bottom of the problem and gave me updates on what he was finding every step of the way.
