Let's start by saying that I pretty much dislike doing this, but I have to do it! People should not conduct business this way! My family and I had brunch at this place today and even tho the food is amazing, the service makes me write this review. We order food and they brought all the dishes at different times, none of the dishes came together so we all eat at different times, when I said that I mean 15 to 20 min different between dishes and when my wife asked they had an attitude. Then when we paid, they did not showed the receipt, they just brought the CC processor and charged us, I added a 15% for tip and now that I finally got the receipt on a text message it say that they charged 18% plus 15% on top of that. We tried calling but if corse no answers. This CC payment will be disputed, they are dishonest and rude. read more

I love the ambiance, it's quaint and clean. The music is a vibe. I love it here. The food is always delicious. I just can't help but mention the service the past two times I've come. I came alone today, I'm typing from the bar in fact. Clearly annoyed, the female bartender as soon as I'm seated says "ok, who didn't listen?". I immediately feel unwelcome, no greeting just a look of frustration on her face. She finally says to give her a second. I love to support my people, but we gotta do better with the service. Got to. We were told that the the wait was 45 minutes. We arrived at 11:20 and we finally were seated at 1:00 and then we finally received food at 2:00. The wait was extremely long. The portions were small for the price. There is also a 18% gratuity added automatically when you do not receive any service really. The food was not bad but was not impressive enough to make up for the wait time. Will not return. Most of our day was spent waiting. The space was small as well. I do want to brag on the hostess. She looks very young but she held this restaurant together. Pretty good food. Good portions weren't huge, but doable. Went a couple weeks ago with a couple friends for brunch. Staff was friendly, but the service was a little slow. We really wanted to try the mimosa flight, but it wasn't available. Kinda bummed about that. Not the largest restaurant and if a big party comes in, they will no doubt take up half the space. The service was top tier and the ambiance was better than I imagined. The waitress greeted us and told us about the menu. The mimosas were delightful. I recommend the pineapple Mimosa. We ate the chicken Birria tacos and the chicken tenders + waffles. The 18% gratuity is automatically added. Our total came up to $94 (for two people mimosa + Margarita + food for two). So me and my family & friends came all the way from South Carolina for the weekend and had gotten a recommendation to come here. First off they have no hostess at the front to greet people coming in & there were only two people there. One was a bartender & the other was a waitress. Nice atmosphere but the customer service was terrible. We waited 3 hours for food, all we had were drinks for those 3 hours. No appetizers or anything. When we asked to speak to the manager, they let us know that they weren't going to come out so no discount, no apology, no acknowledgment or anything. We also witnessed severallllll people walking out of the establishment by the way. Wouldn't recommend. Super unprofessional. read more

My wife and I decided, on our day date, to visit a restaurant on my list of places to try. Love at First Bite was it. We walked in to find a wood-stained stairway leading up to the restaurant. This was different. We were greeted by, Laura, the bartender who was behind the bar. She instructed that we could sit anywhere we liked. She came over with menus and told us about a new apple cider drink for the fall. We opted for an appetizer and a flight of mimosas. The flights were mango, blackberry and strawberry with the new apple cider as a sample. Tee favored the blackberry and strawberry one. The appetizer was great as we added fried shrimp to our deviled eggs, although I didn't taste the candied bacon. I wasn't sure if because we opted to add fried shrimp, that eliminated the candied bacon. At any rate, our food came out on time and did not disappoint. The shrimp and Gouda grits were hot and cheesy. I tried a bit of the potato skillet and thought I'd was flavorful. I would've like a little more cook in the potatoes. The picture is of the potatoes that went with my French Toast. Most of the potatoes were burnt and some were under cooked. The French toast was tasty, however over all I feel the food is overpriced. We are visiting from Las Vegas and plan to return to the ATL, but won't be returning there. The staff was pleasant though. The service is very slow. We sat down as soon as we got there, but it took 17 minutes before we got a sever to take our order. The male male said he would be with us shortly but never came back. Black owned business very small but nice and laid back no reservations first come first served. We arrive a little after 12 maybe 12:26 was told it was a hour wait. We agreed to the wait time was seated at 1:42 after was told to hold the seating for a min to get everything clean and ready. The manager came and waited on our table very apologetic for the wait and took our order. We ordered tequila sunrise, love at first bite breakfast plate and French toast bacon egg sandwich with shrimp and grits. The food/drink was really good thumbs up . Food is good, not great...and definitely not good enough for the amount of time it took for us and other diners to be served. Now, it wouldn't have been sooo bad...the wait...if the service had at least been good. It was not. We were not served utensils... I literally walked up to the bar where the utensils are kept and grabbed them for the table. No one came to refill our glasses...as we waited for our food. There was no apology, no explanation, no bread service, no comp for the wait...but there was a service (what service??!!) charge tacked on each of our checks. I did enjoy the music and the overall vibe of the place. The hostess was nice as was the servers...maybe just not experienced enough to manage a slightly busy restaurant....I don't know. I will say if you are in the area, then do stop by and order a meal...especially if you, like me, enjoy supporting Black owned businesses. They're upstairs above Black Coffee, so enter into the downstairs establishment (Black Coffee) and go upstairs. (Love at first bite does the food and Black Coffee does coffee and tea, so you get your coffee/tea downstairs and then come upstairs for food). So that's how you get there. Plenty of parking out front, btw. And I buried the lead here. THE FOOD IS AWESOME. The grits are great, either as a main skillet or as a side. Gotta get those. The potato skillet is almost as great. Gotta get the banana pudding pancakes. That rocks. The cinnamon roll chicken sandwich has great flavors, but is hard to eat as a meal, because you can't eat it with your hands and it falls apart on your fork. The service is really quick.
