    Crispy Gyoza
    Kiyomi F.

Sushi was good. Crispy tuna was delicious! Gyoza came out HOT and crispy! Wasn't a big fan of the sauce it came with but that's personal preference. The padres roll was good, it came with a lot of soft shell crab topping. However I will say you mainly taste the batter, not so much the crab. The eel roll and spicy salmon were good as well. The service was okay, friendly staff but seemed to be quite overwhelmed. We had to ask a few times for water refill & didn't receive our ginger/wasabi until mid meal. The restaurant itself is super tiny, barely any space. We had a decent meal, price was decent. Not sure if we would come back mainly due to how small & crowded the restaurant is making it quite stuffy inside.

Came here for a quick lunch. I ordered a poke bowl and cucumber salad. Service was fine and helped me explain some ingredients in the food. I ordered ToGo. I'd order from here again!

Sushi bar sitting - yellowtail jalapeño roll on the left & hot night roll. So good!

Our server was very nice, but the host was a bit rude when I asked I could have the password to the WiFi - he said no so if you don't get service there heads up! The rolls were great (we got the yellowtail jalapeño roll L & hot night roll R - we already had one slice before remembering to grab a pic woops!) and came out quickly considering there was a little bit of a late lunch rush going on when we got there!

Forgot what this one was called. 4/5

Love boat is a smaller restaurant. Their rolls are good. Not as good as Junmai, but they are descent. The service was very friendly. Took them a bit to refill my water, but other than that, they were on top of their game.

Been looking for a good sushi place in the area for a while and this place is definitely a great choice! very yummy rolls and the service was quick. atmosphere was nice and definitely would come back.

    Chicken teriyaki

Food selection is in wide range. We ordered chicken teriyaki, steak teriyaki and spicy salmon roll. The rice on the roll was falling apart and very small for the price charged. The seasoning was good but overall disappointing.

    Crispy Krab Wontons

I have never been to a sushi place where the krab meat is shredded like spaghetti noodles. It almost grossed me out because it didn't look like normal sushi rolls. Even the krab wontons- barely had cream cheese in them too. It felt like I was eating those krab sticks on its own. The crunchy stuff on top didn't seem great either quality wise. I asked for the eel sauce to be removed which is why these rolls didn't have the sauce on top. Everything was pretty mid which is why I'm giving it a 3, but unfortunately we probably won't be coming back. Service was nice tho, staff were friendly but it took quite a long time for the food to come out.

Solid local place. Not the most original or innovative, but quality of fish is good and the menu pretty solid. Service seems to always be understaffed and despite effort from the employees the overall experience suffers a bit. I'd like to see special to keep the menu a bit fresher. It's been the same for like ever.

Got the poke bowl (pictured) and small sushi combo (not pictured). Soooo goood. Love Boat never disappoints. Service was great as usual. Attentive but not overbearing. It was quiet today. Maybe the rain contributed, but I'll take that any day. Until next time friends

Delicious and fresh! This might be tucked away, but there is good reason! It's a hidden gem! Consistently, quality, and great food presentation. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. One of my favorite sushi restaurant in town. Phenomenal customer service and calm ambiance. Great for celebrations or date night. I would suggest calling ahead on nights and weekends as they get busy. If you walk in, it's 100% worth the wait. A must try!

We come here all the time, it's super close to home and right by Burn Bootcamp and Turmeric Hut. Their happy hour is early (like, done by 5:30) but it's perfect for a quick sushi + appetizer situation that won't break the bank. The bento boxes are great, and the sashimi salad has a surprisingly big portion of fish. My son devours the salmon rolls every time, so it's one of those places where we all leave happy. Servers can be a little down but maybe they're just bummed they don't get to eat while we do?! Lol. The sushi is yummy. Glad to have a good neighborhood sushi spot

I ordered the rainbow roll along with four pieces of sushi and it was delicious. The fish was fresh. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience.

The food was sooo good. Perfect spot located near the Courtyard Marriott. Service was good. The ladies were pretty thorough. Food came out in a timely manner too. Ambiance was cute, & spacious. I will def be back. Keep it up LOVE BOAT!!

He was very nice and we all enjoyed a bit of the World Cup on tv. The restaurant is small: 4 tables and 5 seats at the sushi bar; however, the decor is very cool. I especially liked the huge murals on the walls. Overall 10/10 experience and we will be back!

Service was fast and super friendly. The sushi chef looked like he was having the best time making rolls, you could just tell he loved what he was doing, and it showed in the food. Parking was easy, prices were great, and while the space is on the smaller side, it makes the vibe perfect for a date night or grabbing good food with a few friends. Also the art on the wall is a total vibe.

At that moment I was busy cutting my daughter's food, so I hadn't even had a chance to realize my order was wrong. I also had to get up and ask for utensils because we weren't given a fork or knife. After that, she disappeared. She never came back to check on us, never asked how the food was, and never once checked to see if we needed drink refills. By the time she finally returned near the end of our meal, I told her my roll had been made incorrectly. Her only response was, "Oh, sorry about that. And then she walked away When the bill came, I asked her to remove the extra avocado charge because I had specifically requested the avocado on top of the roll, not inside. She didn't ask her manager to remove it--she simply told me they couldn't take it off because I had already eaten it. I had even pointed out the mistake earlier when she saw my last piece, but nothing was done. That response was frustrating. The issue wasn't whether I ate it, The issue was that my order wasn't prepared the way I requested. I only ate it because I was there with my child, it was getting late, and no one ever came back to our table to fix it. To top it off, we had to ask twice just to get a to-go box. Between the lack of service, never checking on our drinks, the incorrect order, and the unwillingness to make things right, this was a very disappointing experience. We won't be returning.

For some of the best ramen that Oceanside has to offer, I recommend The Wu Lan Ramen located in the Plaza Del Oro Shopping Center, just south of the 76 Hwy. It's hidden behind the 24 Hour Fitness and CVS. The plaza has limited parking, but it isn't typically too crowded and you should be able to find parking in front of this family-owned ramen restaurant. They have a quaint and trendy ambiance and they placed a lot of care into their anime murals, which lends to a "whimsical" vibe. It's a nice blend of traditional elements & colors and modern (kawaii) accents. The interior is also spacious and has great seating for groups and is also good for couples too. Enjoy table seating or better-yet at their bar seating and you can chat with the friendly staff! They have a "staple menu" that is written in chalk on a board and then there's their menu that is very diverse. They also have a great Happy Hour menu with items priced below $8, including sake! I enjoy their pan-fried gyoza, salted edamame, miso soup, firecracker shrimp, fried calamari, chicken karaage and most other delicious dishes. Their sushi menu is also high quality grade and I feel is often overlooked and underrated. But their ramen is what shines the most! There are so many styles & varieties! There's a lot to customize and their broth is amazing! There are many tasty bowls, desserts and don't forget to grab a sake or a craft beer! I recommend checking Wu Lan Ramen the next time you're looking for some authentic ramen or sushi in the north side of Oceanside.

The unassuming exterior and simple but elegant interior greeted us with low lighting and quiet atmosphere. We sat at a table of 6 and immediately knew we were in for a treat. We all had the 10 course meal and although I can't do justice to describing each item- let's just say every bite is a treat for the tastebuds. You could do substitutions and add ons. I added wagyu for additional 55$ but I'm sure the duck would of been just as good. The pork too surprised me as my family raised pigs as a kid and I don't usually eat but the pork dish- with pigs that were raised with special diet and spa-like treatment/ well... the stories added to the dish. Things like pine were unexpected delights. The drinks were all amazing and we tried mixed drinks, sake, and something I rarely see and is worth noting- great mocktails. The service was outstanding and everyone was friendly, polite, knew their job, and quietly was there between each course with fresh silverware. All was completed with a sense of effortlessness. My daughter mentioned to her dad she was waiting on a drink and the manager heard and without hesitation said it was on the way/ and on the house. We chuckled as the bill of course was more than we had ever spent on a single meal, but enjoyed every minute. What struck me about ambiance is we felt as if we were the only ones there although I saw several tables on other side of restaurant. In addition although 6 of us in a circle - we were able to converse with each other with ease. Come with an open mind and be prepared for the best meal you may ever have. Made reservations online for the tasting menu $225. The place is in the middle of nowhere, from the outside you'd never guess it was fine dining. We started off with a trio of little bites, a tile fish gungakn roll, fried mochi threads, and an acorn cracker filled with camembert cheese. The raw tile fish gunkan was ok, the mochi threads were nice and crunchy, the camembert cheese was too pungent for me. Hamachi/Raspberry - slices of Yellow tail and raspberry in a ponzu sauce. The ponzu stood out most and gave it a salty profile i couldn't really distinguish between the hamachi and the raspberry as the textures were similar. Artichoke Kohlrabi gyoza with a bri sauce. This dish was very good though i thought it was more like ravioli than gyoza. It even looked like ravioli. I think they just called it gyoza to make it fit the Japanese theme. Shrimp tempura was delicious! it was lightly battered and fried and put in a shallow bowl of shrimp broth. They said it came with dynamite sauce but i think it was just kewpie mayo. Very good and one of my favorites of the evening. Chicken wing stuffed with scallop, part of the wing was deboned and stuffed with a Hokkaido scallop. It was very tasty, the scallop was very sweet and tender. I wish the skin of the chicken wing was crispier. It was quite charred but did not crack when bitten into it and a little rubbery. Tile fish had a very crispy skin and came with a beautiful sauce of i think apples and apricots and a walnut butter. I really liked the sauce that was spooned on the plate. another one of my favorites of the evening. Duck done 2 ways; roasted and a fried tsukune meatball. They both came in a light carrot sauce. The fat on the roasted piece was nicely rendered and the duck meat very tender. The tsukune was nicely fried and crispy and still rare inside. The palate cleanser was a pine ice cream with Aloe Jelly, The pine ice cream was quite refreshing and smooth i thought the aloe jelly was a bit strong tasting. I think flavor came from the geranium but something had a strong taste to it. The dessert was also one of my favorites White chocolate with hokkaido milk powder on top of miso ice cream and slices of tangerine. It was supposed to be reminiscent of a creamsicle. The Hokkaido milk power was magic on the shards of white chocolate, the miso ice cream was very smooth and dense and when eaten together with the pieces of manderin orange did remind me of a creamsicle. They gave us a trio of finishing dishes a trio of bites; Castella cake, Kokuto jelly and raspberry mochi. The castella cake didn't really stand out, it wasn't the sweet dense cake that im used to. The kokuto jelly had that deep brown sugar taste but was too stiff in my opinion. The raspberry mochi had a strong raspberry flavor which i loved and had a good chew to it. Service was exceptional, water was filled many times almost every time the water glass went down 1/4 it was filled to the top. Each course was preceded with the proper utensiles and were cleared after each dish. i must have had at least 4 forks and 4 spoons. Definilty 5 star (Michilin style) service. Food was very good maybe 4 stars. Value was ok maybe 3 stars. If you divided the courses by the price it came to $25 per course. If you looked at the ala cart menu, many of the items were there and could be had for less than $25, of course not all the dishes on the tasting menu were available ala cart. But i feel if you sat at the bar and ordered a cocktail and maybe 5-6 dishes you't still pay a hefty price but it would be much less than $225. I feel like thats the way to go instead of the tasting menu. Come here if you want exceptional service.

Delicious food, fresh ingredients, and great values!…read more On our way to San Diego, we stopped by an in-between town to grab some lunch. We were so glad to have found Sunshine Kitchen through Yelp. This restaurant is located in a strip mall, and parking is ample out front. It appears to be family owned, and all the wait staff is extremely friendly. There are both indoor and outdoor sitting area, and it appears to be a favorite among locals. The menu is diverse with poke, ramen, fried rice, sushi, and many other Asian dishes. For lunch, I ordered the tuna/salmon poke and a salmon skin hand-roll. The poke bowl had generous serving and was very flavorful. My lunch tasted good, filling, and light. Our bill came to $50 with tips included, which was an excellent value for such a healthy and filling meal. As for service, the food came fast and the ambiance felt cozy and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Their food is consistently delicious and never disappointed! This restaurant is clean and very organized. I sit outside with my dog and they have been very dog friendly too. I love their sushi, their lunch special and their prices! They are very affordable. Most of all, plenty of parking! Great place to go!
