This one's a bit of a letdown, not gonna sugarcoat it. We were so excited for an all-you-can-eat sushi place right by the house, but the sushi quality just wasn't there for the price so kind of a bummer honestly. The bright spot was their Korean barbecue-style plates, those were good and included in the AYCE.

Large clean restaurant good for groups, with a very nice outdoor patio with fire pits. We did AYCE for 6 - $50 per adult, then two cheaper tiers for kids. The shrimp ebi sushi is sweet and delicious. All of the food is very fresh. The Korean bulgogi udon was decent, but a good option for cooked food and kids. The galbi ribs were better, very tender, with tasty stir-fried veggies. Spider roll and fried crab were delicious. The cooked rolls are very filling, so keep that in mind for AYCE - the Dragon roll was very rich and savory, but also very good! The service was a bit off at the start, as the owners were helping on the floor and it's still relatively new. They forgot a few dishes or sent them to different tables, but we could've been more on top of our orders. Overall, very good experience. Plenty of parking in the lot.

I arrived as they were opening and sat while they finished setting up. Great location, quick service. So far so good. Food came out quick and it was also great quality and presentation. I wanted a chirashi bowl but they did not have it on the menu so I tried a couple of their signature rolls. The OB and the IB. The IB was tuna on a spicy tuna roll. 8/10. The spicy mayo on top was too sweet and kind of took away from the flavor of the tuna. The OB was albacore over a spicy tuna roll. 10/10. The flavors were perfect. Citrusy and tangy. Good experience at this spot that happened to be next to a charged station for my EV. Complimentary edemame, plenty of fresh ginger on the side. Great find. Missed a bit on one roll but otherwise a great experience!

ROBATA-X SUSHI and IZAKAYA feels like a Love Boat Sushi (Blue Ocean) spin off with an AYCE option. very similar approach. some hits. some misses. went for lunch. service was spot on. started off with the PORK GYOZA. they were glorious. might be the best I've every eaten. really hoping they weren't mass-produced somewhere and then freezer to frying pan. either way, things were off to a great start. the SALMON, BLUE FIN TUNA, and FATTY ALBACORE nigiri were high average. the fresh wasabi was a nice touch. the RHODE ISLAND CALAMARI could have been a little crispier but still very good. the ROBOTA portion lunch was disappointing. the WAGYU MEATBALLs were dry and had the texture and mouth feel of reheated leftovers. the PORK BELLY was insipid. beige exterior was desperately in need of a good char. pork looked and tasted like it had been skewered, steamed, and sauced. the JAPALENO POPPERS (in: panko fried spicy krab and cream cheese stuffed jalapeno. out: avocado, spicy aioli, unagi sauce, and micro greens) were just plain awful. a ton of places around these parts (like MIKKO and HOOKED ON SUSHI) make REALLY good ones. ROBATA-X: send your kitchen guys over there and figure it out. some of the rolls were also problematic: the KOBE ROLL (in: shrimp tempura, cucumber, asparagus, avocado, and krab. out: seared kobe beef, masago, and mirco greens) was no bueno. the beef looked and tasted like it had been steamed. seared? I don't think so. zero Maillard reaction. muddled flavors. so poorly wrapped, required a spoon to eat it. the BAKED FATTY BLUE FIN TUNA ROLL (in: baked toro, spicy aioli, dynamite sauce, pickled green onions, and micro greens) was poorly conceived and poorly executed. would describe the flavor profile as very fishy tasting tuna melt with LOTS of mayonnaise. so loosely wrapped, it also required a spoon to get from the plate to my mouth. the SUGAR DRAGON ROLL (in: krab, cucumber, yama gobo, avocado. out: fresh water eel, avocado, sweet unagi sauce, and dried bonita shavings) was amazing. really liked the combo flavors. winner. winner. winner. wasn't paying attention and didn't realize the KOREAN SHORT RIBS was an entree and came with rice and veggies. will adjust my order next time. good flavor. meaty ribs. will take a couple of visits to figure out the menu and what to order and more importantly what NOT to order. let the adventure begin.

Great food! They have many different options of food, from nigiri to grilled skewers they have what you like!

Was craving Japanese sushi, so I came here. I didn't realize it was an all you can eat sushi, but you can order a la carte. I think if you know you're going to order maybe like four items and more, it may make sense to do the all you can eat. I got the lemon salmon roll cuz salmon is like one of my favorite fish! Got it with a miso soup, and I was satisfied. I would come back to try other items on the menu!

I've been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened. My husband and I decided to try the all you can eat menu. I would say if you want to try a couple of different rolls and items on the menu then all you can eat options is the way to go, it's $50.00 per person. Everything we got was super fresh. The lemon roll was our favorite. Our waiter was super attentive and gave us great suggestions on certain rolls we tried. I would definitely come back to try different rolls and suggest this restaurant to my family.

Robata- X Sushi opened about 2 months ago, and judging from the Yelp reviews, it seemed like amazing spot to eat! After eating here this evening, I can confirm that I've found my new sushi spot! I did the AYCE which was $49 a person and was an absolutely awesome deal! So many delicious options! The food is very fresh and flavorful! They are all good, but my faves were the albacore sushi, king salmon sushi, and the Hermosa roll! The establishment was clean, spacious and inviting! The younger staff was super upbeat and friendly! The older staff were very polite, quiet and professional! They had a good mix of staff working together and provided great customer service! I am already planning what to order my next visit!

It was good. Everything tasted fresh. I have not been to an ayce sushi place before but I hadn't seen any with as much variety being able to order basically anything in the menu. When we arrived we were given the à la carte menu and I was confused because I haven't seen a photo of that here. One of the workers seemed to notice and brought us over the ayce menu. For $50 we tried to eat our moneys worth. We figured the 3 of us would cost about $120 for à la carte so 30 bucks more to try some of everything seemed like the better deal. We definitely won't be back for ayce but we'll probably be back and just order our favorites. You can only order 2 items per person at a time. We ended up ordering 18 items at the end. The best was the black dragon roll, and the robatayaki: filet + pineapple and the flat iron steak. The crunch shrimp roll, gyoza and tuna crispy rice were also pretty good. Would pass on the Korean bbq ribs - had some inedible bits in it. Didn't seem as good quality as the fish was. The bao bun was supposed to be spam but I'm pretty sure it was pork belly because it did not have the texture of spam. So I would not get either one of those again personally. Service was pretty slow. It says 90 min time limit and while it's great that they aren't super strict especially given the slow service, it was a little annoying that we got there at 1230 and had an appointment at 230 that we were late to because we had to ask for the check at 2 and don't get it for like 10-15 min.

The vibe and food was just perfect! Best salmon sushi I've ever had and definitely will be coming back! Service was fast while also waiters were great at explaining whole menu and providing me and friends a great dinner. Definitely will be back!

Ayce sushi spot was fire. The salmon was the best salmon I've ever had at a ayce. The service was great and the atmosphere was really cool as they were showing the World Cup games.

Super excited to know that an AYCE Sushi restaurant has opened up in Oceanside! For the price of $49.99, it was pretty worth eating my weight in sushi . We were a party of 11 and we'd share different rolls and appetizers with one another so that we can try different things. Overall, the service was great and quick. The sushi tasted fresh and delicious! The king salmon was a crowd favorite and the brussel sprouts were amazing!

For some of the best ramen that Oceanside has to offer, I recommend The Wu Lan Ramen located in the Plaza Del Oro Shopping Center, just south of the 76 Hwy. It's hidden behind the 24 Hour Fitness and CVS. The plaza has limited parking, but it isn't typically too crowded and you should be able to find parking in front of this family-owned ramen restaurant. They have a quaint and trendy ambiance and they placed a lot of care into their anime murals, which lends to a "whimsical" vibe. It's a nice blend of traditional elements & colors and modern (kawaii) accents. The interior is also spacious and has great seating for groups and is also good for couples too. Enjoy table seating or better-yet at their bar seating and you can chat with the friendly staff! They have a "staple menu" that is written in chalk on a board and then there's their menu that is very diverse. They also have a great Happy Hour menu with items priced below $8, including sake! I enjoy their pan-fried gyoza, salted edamame, miso soup, firecracker shrimp, fried calamari, chicken karaage and most other delicious dishes. Their sushi menu is also high quality grade and I feel is often overlooked and underrated. But their ramen is what shines the most! There are so many styles & varieties! There's a lot to customize and their broth is amazing! There are many tasty bowls, desserts and don't forget to grab a sake or a craft beer! I recommend checking Wu Lan Ramen the next time you're looking for some authentic ramen or sushi in the north side of Oceanside.

The unassuming exterior and simple but elegant interior greeted us with low lighting and quiet atmosphere. We sat at a table of 6 and immediately knew we were in for a treat. We all had the 10 course meal and although I can't do justice to describing each item- let's just say every bite is a treat for the tastebuds. You could do substitutions and add ons. I added wagyu for additional 55$ but I'm sure the duck would of been just as good. The pork too surprised me as my family raised pigs as a kid and I don't usually eat but the pork dish- with pigs that were raised with special diet and spa-like treatment/ well... the stories added to the dish. Things like pine were unexpected delights. The drinks were all amazing and we tried mixed drinks, sake, and something I rarely see and is worth noting- great mocktails. The service was outstanding and everyone was friendly, polite, knew their job, and quietly was there between each course with fresh silverware. All was completed with a sense of effortlessness. My daughter mentioned to her dad she was waiting on a drink and the manager heard and without hesitation said it was on the way/ and on the house. We chuckled as the bill of course was more than we had ever spent on a single meal, but enjoyed every minute. What struck me about ambiance is we felt as if we were the only ones there although I saw several tables on other side of restaurant. In addition although 6 of us in a circle - we were able to converse with each other with ease. Come with an open mind and be prepared for the best meal you may ever have. Pricey but worth it if you want to create a memory sure to please.

Made reservations online for the tasting menu $225. The place is in the middle of nowhere, from the outside you'd never guess it was fine dining. We started off with a trio of little bites, a tile fish gungakn roll, fried mochi threads, and an acorn cracker filled with camembert cheese. The raw tile fish gunkan was ok, the mochi threads were nice and crunchy, the camembert cheese was too pungent for me. Hamachi/Raspberry - slices of Yellow tail and raspberry in a ponzu sauce. The ponzu stood out most and gave it a salty profile i couldn't really distinguish between the hamachi and the raspberry as the textures were similar. Artichoke Kohlrabi gyoza with a bri sauce. This dish was very good though i thought it was more like ravioli than gyoza. It even looked like ravioli. I think they just called it gyoza to make it fit the Japanese theme. Shrimp tempura was delicious! it was lightly battered and fried and put in a shallow bowl of shrimp broth. They said it came with dynamite sauce but i think it was just kewpie mayo. Very good and one of my favorites of the evening. Chicken wing stuffed with scallop, part of the wing was deboned and stuffed with a Hokkaido scallop. It was very tasty, the scallop was very sweet and tender. I wish the skin of the chicken wing was crispier. It was quite charred but did not crack when bitten into it and a little rubbery. Tile fish had a very crispy skin and came with a beautiful sauce of i think apples and apricots and a walnut butter. I really liked the sauce that was spooned on the plate. another one of my favorites of the evening. Duck done 2 ways; roasted and a fried tsukune meatball. They both came in a light carrot sauce. The fat on the roasted piece was nicely rendered and the duck meat very tender. The tsukune was nicely fried and crispy and still rare inside. The palate cleanser was a pine ice cream with Aloe Jelly, The pine ice cream was quite refreshing and smooth i thought the aloe jelly was a bit strong tasting. I think flavor came from the geranium but something had a strong taste to it. The dessert was also one of my favorites White chocolate with hokkaido milk powder on top of miso ice cream and slices of tangerine. It was supposed to be reminiscent of a creamsicle. The Hokkaido milk power was magic on the shards of white chocolate, the miso ice cream was very smooth and dense and when eaten together with the pieces of manderin orange did remind me of a creamsicle. They gave us a trio of finishing dishes a trio of bites; Castella cake, Kokuto jelly and raspberry mochi. The castella cake didn't really stand out, it wasn't the sweet dense cake that im used to. The kokuto jelly had that deep brown sugar taste but was too stiff in my opinion. The raspberry mochi had a strong raspberry flavor which i loved and had a good chew to it. Service was exceptional, water was filled many times almost every time the water glass went down 1/4 it was filled to the top. Each course was preceded with the proper utensiles and were cleared after each dish. i must have had at least 4 forks and 4 spoons. Definilty 5 star (Michilin style) service. Food was very good maybe 4 stars. Value was ok maybe 3 stars. If you divided the courses by the price it came to $25 per course. If you looked at the ala cart menu, many of the items were there and could be had for less than $25, of course not all the dishes on the tasting menu were available ala cart. But i feel if you sat at the bar and ordered a cocktail and maybe 5-6 dishes you't still pay a hefty price but it would be much less than $225. I feel like thats the way to go instead of the tasting menu. Come here if you want exceptional service.
