    - delicious food, good service, cozy ambiance - no…read morereservation can be made for brunch - excited to come back for a sweet option Happy to get a seat at this tasty diner! With their rotating menu items and weekly specials, I am definitely coming back after having such a flavorful and fun meal. Waited about an hour on a busy Saturday since one of their locations was closed, but the food was well worth it! I had gotten Wolfie's Patty Melt and it was filling and a great start to our morning. The bread was nice and crisp from the buttered griddle and held everything together perfectly. Inside the crunchy sandwich were 2 seasoned patties and enough gooey cheese to make it rich, but not heavy. To contrast the fatty flavor, there was a slightly tart bacon jam and onions that were truly caramelized. Overall really tasty sandwich with no notes! In the description it says there is a sauce, but I could only taste the onions and jam, so I'm not too sure what it added. The side of fries was ok, but I think some crispy thinner ones would have been better with the sandwich. For my drink, I got a hot Ube Chai. The chai was strong and had a spicy kick to each sip. Already a subtle flavor, the ube was not very strong with the chai mixed in, but still added fun color. The design on top was also very cute and added another dink of sweetness. My girlfriend got the Spamelette for her main and it was pretty pretty and delish. Not too often that you see Spam, but when you see it, trust it earned its spot on a menu! The big chunks of Spam and accouterments gave each bite a pleasant feel and one full of flavor. I was skeptic of the mushrooms at first, but they were seasoned well and added another kind of texture to the meal. I think my favorite toppings were the drizzle of kewpie and the green onions... not sure if it counts as a topping, but the tamari glaze of the spam made it delish. Taste aside, it was also a pretty meal! Pook got a Hot Chocolate for her drink. Nice simple drink for the cold weather. We would have liked to see some more chocolatey flavor, but still a good milky drink for the meal. This drink also had a fun design and nice cream top, yum yum yum. This was such a tasty meal and they have lots of other options that I was debating on getting - I guess we gotta come back! It was a really cold day, but the cozy atmosphere and hot drinks with our food made it a great experience. We had originally planned on going to the Downtown location, but it was closed because of heating problems. I wish there was a bit more uniformity between their menus, especially since the Brewers Hill menu has different items and is smaller, so it feels like there is quite the difference between locations. Going off of that point, I am excited to try their dinner menu when it releases and see how it compares to when we ate Downtown! I am not sure how the places differ, but I felt the food here to be more flavorful than the other location. In addition to the dining area, they had a small shop and coffee area in the back while you waited for your table. It was fun and made time pass faster, but I feel as though that area is also perfect for dining. Maybe there are specific reasons why it isn't, but just a thought. Hope to come back soon!

When we arrived (about two hours after opening), we were quoted a 1.5-hour wait. Not totally surprising given how popular the spot is, but definitely something to plan around. We've skipped it in the past because we were too hungry to wait, and honestly, that might still be a factor for future visits. The space itself is cozy and on the smaller side, with the bar area taking up a good portion of the restaurant. It has a lively atmosphere, but because it was completely packed and music was playing, it got pretty loud, loud enough that it was hard to hear each other at times, and even a bit difficult to catch everything our server was saying. That said, the waitstaff were friendly and doing their best in a busy environment. As for the food and drinks, definitely the highlight. We ordered an ube latte and a chai, both of which were enjoyable. The standout dish was the breakfast burger with bacon jam. It was fantastic, rich, messy, and indulgent in the best way. The bacon jam added just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the savory, greasy goodness, and I was completely on board with it. We also ordered a few of their breakfast plates, which came with massive smashed potatoes. Overall, Uncle Wolfie's delivered on flavor and vibe, but the long wait and noise level might make us think twice about when we go back. I'd definitely return, but ideally during a less busy time. Otherwise, if I'm starving and don't want to wait, I might end up trying somewhere else.

Date of visit: November 20, 2025…read more We had not been here in years, but came with some friends for the Milwaukee County Historical Society trivia. It definitely seemed that the staff here were simply not prepared for the volume of people that came out to celebrate the area and support the Historical Society. Emma, our server, was definitely trying, but not always succeeding, neglecting to enter in some parts of the order until far later into the evening (our friends didn't receive their order of garlic bread for about 45 minutes after their entrees were delivered) though oddly enough, she was always ready to bring someone another alcoholic beverage. Thankfully the food I had was pretty good, the grilled cheese sandwich paired well with their tomato bisque soup--I took a chance on the soup not being a traditional tomato soup fan (Campbell's? Gross!) but I found Three Lions version to be hearty and flavorful, definitely a combo that I would get again in the future. I would just come on a night when they could keep up with the crowds far better! Pro tip: Ask for croutons for the soup, they elevated a good soup to an amazing soup.

The atmosphere is authentic and welcoming, whether you're stopping in for a pint, a match, or a full meal. The beer selection is excellent--especially if you enjoy proper British ales--and the food is consistently solid, with classic pub fare done the right way. Service has always been friendly and efficient, even when it's busy. It feels like a true neighborhood pub rather than a themed bar, which is exactly why it stands out. Great place to relax, watch soccer, and actually enjoy the experience.

Though an intimate space, we were able to find a spot immediately right by the window (lovely!). Their space is chic and comfortable. We started our morning with their oatmilk cafe au lait, which was comfort in a cup. So yum. One thing to note is that though they have some delicious coffee options, they don't have espresso drinks. Not that we were bothered, just a note! For my breakfast, I got the cheesy hash which was an absolutely flavor explosion. It was so tasty and over-the-top delicious with just the right amount of heat. It's a tasty combination of their house potatoes, roasted veggies, vegan chorizo, melted violife cheese, avocado & avocado chipotle sauce. It's also served with a side of toast (which was hearty and delicious). The service is some of the best in the city. Seriously. They're so lovely in here. Get to it!

Date of visit: April 26, 2026…read more Another place that has seemingly been around forever, but I didn't get a chance to visit until my days in Milwaukee were numbered! We came on a Sunday before they officially started serving breakfast and just had pastries available, but we were getting together with some friends for our monthly coffee date and didn't need a whole meal necessarily. The selection was a bit more limited than I would have expected from a boulangerie, but the cinnamon roll was very good (probably would have been better if it had been warmed up but that was not offered). And the cookies that we brought home (chocolate chip and gingersnap) were also very good. I also tried a bite of my husband's quiche and it was very good--definitely made in-house! The almond croissant had a generous amount of almond paste in it, and was quite sizable, too.

There's always something good looking in the bakery case--croissants, macarons, chocolate bombe. There's often a special for brunch or lunch too--I had a steamed mussels once that was pretty memorable. On my most recent visit I had the toasted cheese with a cup of tomate soup. The sandwiches come with a salad or potatoes. I had the salad and it was a nice array of fresh vegetables with a vinaigrette. The cheese was maybe not as all the way melted as I expected but it was still a nice treat. I couldn't resist getting the lemon cake for dessert. They had a strawberry shortcake that day too. Service was attentive and they kept my coffee cup filled. I should come here more often for weekend brunch.

Another big determining factor was that they're very gluten free friendly and items are marked on the menu (gluten free or can be made gluten free). They also have non-alcoholic options if you or anyone in your party does not imbibe. We made a same day reservation for a party of 4 for a Saturday night dinner. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. The dining area was pretty small and it was almost full at 8 PM. They do have tables outside when the weather allows, and a bar, so that could be an option if you can't book a table inside. What we ordered, and our thoughts: Drinks: Cherry Spritzer (NA) , French 75 Food: Salmon , Blackened Tuna , Niçoise Salad with Blackened Tuna , Caesar Salad with Anchovies , Clam Chowder I would get the Niçoise Salad with the Salmon because it's much easier to break down with a fork to eat. The bathroom was clean and spacious, too. :)

My husband and I came in on a whim, and given that it was a Friday night we got very lucky being able to snag two seats at the bar. I love bar seating honestly, especially where bartenders are friendly, as they were. These guys knew what they were doing too, because they wiped up our craft cocktails in a flash. Moxie is kind of known for their martinis, and have a whole section on their menu for them, so naturally that's what I gravitated towards. I can't recall the name of the one I chose, but essentially it was Hendrick Gin, cucumber, and mint. So refreshing. My husband had a bourbon cocktail of sorts and really enjoyed it too. We weren't in the mood for full-dinner so instead shared the short rib medallions from the apps list. Those were tasty! Perfectly cooked braised short rib on top polenta medallions with bourbon-marinated peaches and cambozola cheese... what's not to love? We also had the caesar salad with chicken, which was crispy and hit the spot. Plan to spend a decent amount of $$ dining here, but you get what you pay for. All in all, a nice night!

We were worried that they might not be able to accomodate all of us, but we were super okay if they split us up into two tables, which they had to end up doing. It's vintage and has that diner feel but maintains its modern effects especially with the Riverwest neighborhood. I ordered a bloody mary which was amazing!! I can be pretty particular when it comes to my bloody's but this was the perfect flavor, spiciness, and the garnishes were super fun. As I said before I was super hungry so I got their dream burger with fries. It was a patty with tomato, onion, lettuce, and cheese. When it came out my eyes popped out of my head cause holy cow was that thing HUGE! I could only eat half of it and I took the rest to-go. It was super juicy and flavorful. The fries were crispy and perfectly salty, it was hard to stop eating them. We also ordered french toast for the table which was just as delicious. It was made with some sort of sourdough bread so it was nice and fluffy. There was a raspberry compote that made it nice and refreshing, and a sweet cinnamon butter to tie it all together. If I came in for breakfast this would be the perfect sweet meal to order. Our server was super nice and attentive, and made sure to check on us when needed and refilled our drinks if we asked.
