I only have nice things to say about Love Child! I cannot speak for the yoga classes since I have never attended them. We have a child membership and we go to the wonderful baby-toddler classes they offer! Love Child has been a little haven for me that I look forward to go to a few times a week. As a stay at home mommy, going to school, Love Child is offering me the opportunity to step out of my bubble. Holly and Sarah-Grace are wonderful. They are so loving and creative, each class is a treat! We love French class on Tuesday, and art class on Thursday. There are also music classes on Monday and Wednesday with Corbitt and Alex. They offer Spanish classes and toddler gym. Really, this place is amazing. Every day of the week, there is an activity for your baby. It's also a great space to meet other parents, nannies and babies! It's a safe and clean environment where my baby can explore under the loving eyes of Holly and Sarah-Grace. Under Neelu's vision, Love Child is beautiful community. They offer doula services, as well as pre-post natal classes, breastfeeding circles, and a all lot of holistic baby-parent care. This place is a gem, and I will thoroughly miss it when my family moves across country in a few weeks! read more

This review is long over-due as Love Child has been such an amazing resource for my family! As an expecting mother, I attended Prenatal Yoga regularly from my second trimester. I joined a weekly Prenatal Circle with a group of soon-to-be first time moms. We frankly discussed the physical and emotional toll that pregnancy and motherhood takes on you, your career and your relationship with your partner. Love Child also offers classes to prepare for parenthood. My husband and I took classes on multiple topics at different facilities throughout the city, we both agreed that the Breastfeeding course we took at Love Child was the best and most useful. The week after I delivered, Neelu came to my home to help me with early breastfeeding woes (included in the membership!) Since my daughter was born, our relationship with Love Child evolved. When she was a young infant, we were regulars at Baby and Me Yoga (the cutest thing ever), New Parents Circle and Baby Play Date. Now as a toddler, our caregiver takes her to Love Child for art, movement or music classes. Even on days she is not at Love Child, my daughter is likely on a play date with another Love Child toddler. My husband and I love taking her to weekend events (they throw great parties) or Sunday Family yoga. Love Child is so much more than a yoga studio! I've been a Love Child member since being 3 months pregnant and have literally taken all of the services they have to offer because they are stellar--from prenatal yoga, birth classes, and doula services to postnatal yoga, new parent circles, and baby classes with a now 3 month old. The new parent circle is especially great--helpful discussions when you need the support most AND meeting new friends and babies in the area :) Love Child is a very special place that is building a community of parents in the West Village with a neighborhood feel that you don't find anymore (especially in NYC). All of the instructors are warm and welcoming and know you and your baby by name. Neelu, the founder, is especially amazing - a great teacher, incredibly caring, and an expert at what she does. I walked by Love Child many times before I was pregnant and loved the peaceful looking space. Mere days after seeing my positive pregnancy test I popped in, feeling overwhelmed by all the newness coming my way. I spoke to Neelu and Holly inside about membership, and left with a sense of calm and comfort. Fast forward a bit to the end of the first trimester. I finally felt up to more movement and was already noticing the effects of my body changing. Now was the time to sign up, although looking back I wish I'd done it sooner for the energizing and relaxing effects to take hold even sooner. Throughout my pregnancy I went to yoga classes, childbirth classes, and more and absorbed the knowledge and positive energy shared amongst everyone who came through those doors. Any questions or worries I had were met with kind, thoughtful and comforting answers. When I felt uneasy about my initial OBGYN choice, I was given a wealth of resources and information to help me make the decision that was right for me. I hired Holly as my doula which was the best investment I made for the birth of my son. Both myself and my husband felt educated and empowered throughout the end of my pregnancy, during and after the birth. Our son was born mid-February 2020, and a few weeks into his life the world changed with the spread of COVID-19. I had had the opportunity to attend in person postnatal yoga classes and a few new parent circles prior to the shelter in place order, and was so impressed with how well Love Child pivoted to support new and becoming mothers throughout all of the upheavals. From live streaming the in studio classes to zoom classes and on demand content, they have been doing everything to be relevant and helpful as ever. Now we have had the joy of joining some socially distanced outdoor classes for myself and my son. Between the physical recovery, the text support, and the social connections and support offered through Love Child's online components I was able to feel very much a part of the community, rather than the isolation of new motherhood compounded with that of life during shelter in place orders. My experiences at Love Child made me feel calm, supported, and educated throughout my pregnancy, birth and postpartum periods. I recommended Love Child to a friend, without ever having been & long before I was pregnant and in a position to join myself. I'd come across it online and it sounded like the most wonderful place to practice yoga, while also offering holistically minded advice in all aspects of pregnancy. Subsequently, I signed up very early on in my pregnancy and never looked back. As someone with a vigorous exercise background, having a grounded & calming, yet challenging, prenatal yoga practice that kept in mind growing bellies and exhausted mamas to be, while offering targeted strengthening to get them through the coming months and inevitable labor, was exactly what I needed. The support outside of the physical practice was second to none. Neelu was instrumental in helping me to change care providers when I decided that I wanted to deliver with a midwife, rather than an OBGYN, and spent time before and after class, as well as over email, helping me to figure out options. Among many other things, she helped me understand what certain aches, pains and general changes in my body could be a result of, reducing my stress and worry and making things feel normal! The resources available - such as the amazing massage therapist Brandi (honestly, best massages I've ever had!) and the incredible Connie who offers prenatal acupuncture (I was terrified of acupuncture before I had a session with Connie, but she soon changed that with her calm and thoughtful treatments) all add to the Love Child experience. While everything around me felt like it was changing - physically, emotionally and mentally - knowing that I had my regular, almost daily, prenatal yoga practice kept me feeling grounded and in control. Despite my pregnancy falling throughout the pandemic and therefore classes being online I never felt like I was missing out, rather the opportunity to practice, without having to travel to class (I live in Brooklyn) made things so much easier. I am so grateful that I found Love Child - I feel like my pregnancy and birth would have been very different without the support it has offered me. And as much as I learnt to let go and enjoy my changing body as I moved through my pregnancy, the post-natal yoga is now helping me to thoughtfully rebuild my strength and readjust to my post-partum body! I started attending Love Child prenatal yoga when I began my second trimester, and now that my daughter is five months old I am still a member through their postnatal program and baby & me classes. The Love Child space is so unique in that it offers a variety of resources and outlets for expecting families and truly grows with you! The prenatal classes were informative and really helped in preparing my husband and I for childbirth and the first few weeks home with the baby. Once she was born, I found the new parent circles to be such a special and comforting environment as I was adjusting to life as a new mom. Tiffany Bissel runs those sessions and is so warm, knowledgeable, and funny. Neelu, Holly and Sarah-Grace take the time to get to know you and your entire family - it truly feels like a community. During the COVID-19 pandemic Neelu seamlessly adapted Love Child to operate through an online streaming service which to me shows her commitment to creating and maintain a special space for her members. I highly recommend Love Child to any expecting or new mom (worth traveling to if you don't live in the neighborhood!). read more

Love Child is the most amazing resource and is so much more than a yoga studio. Neelu has created a wonderful gathering place for expecting moms and beyond to feel supported. She and her staff including acupuncture specialists, massage specialists, doulas, and instructors (breastfeeding, CPR, etc.) are great! This is one stop shopping at its best. I had not done a lot of yoga before starting at Love Child and was looking for something lower impact than my usual 5 day a week spinning. Neelu is wonderful at teaching and making you feel welcome to the Love Child community. I found this studio when I was 16 weeks pregnant and am still going strong at 35. I can feel the positive difference in my body after doing yoga and I feel much more relaxed. If you have any questions at all big or small Neelu can surely help you or knows who to point you in the direction of. I went through a difficult decision of changing doctors late in my pregnancy and Neelu was right there for me to be supportive and put me in touch with other women who have switched so I could make a more informed decision. I have met wonderful ladies through this studio and plan to continue making use of the Love Child resources after I deliver. You really feel cared for by this studio and a home visit is even included after you deliver while you are unable to make yoga classes or use the in studio programs. It's a nice feeling to know that in addition to your doctors, family, partner, etc. there is someone else waiting to help you tackle any problem shooting you'll need after baby comes. I also had the most beautiful baby shower here as well! I'd highly recommend renting the space. Holly, the office manager, did such a wonderful job setting up and making sure that all the odds and ends were taken care of during the event. It made the event stress free and it is such a lovely space (feels like home away from home!). I highly recommend Love Child!! My wife and I have been a part of the Love Child Yoga community since our little boy was about 2 months old. It's an amazing place. We came for the classes, but stayed for the relationships we made with Neelu and the other new and expecting parents. Neelu offers all types of services, but the three we used the most were Baby and Me Yoga, New Parent Circle, and the Baby Music Class. I loved watching my son frolick about while we did our yoga poses, and see him watching us practice our breathing and practice remaining calm in difficult positions. Nice to model that for life to come. New Parent's Circle was a great way to feel connected with the world outside of our baby, and hearing about everyone else's experiences made us understand and appreciate our own journey that much more. It's not just a studio, it's truly a community, and we are lucky to be a part of it. Hope you come too! read more

Love Child is incredible. I've been a member since the beginning of my second trimester and can't speak more highly of the classes and community. Neelu has a truly well defined vision -- to make sure that new parents feel they are supported, especially in a city which is often times lonely for new parents. Even though I was active before pregnancy, I would not describe myself as a "yogi". The prenatal yoga and post-natal strengthening is super challenging in a way that weight training and running isn't. I also loved the New Parents Circle. Just come as you and your little one are! It's an incredible hang out spot as well. My husband has also enjoyed the Dads Group! Most importantly, I didn't realize that breast feeding (especially in the beginning) would be challenging. Every member receives a free lactation consult and mine couldn't have come at a better time. As soon as I arrived home from the hospital, Neelu came over and walked me through certain positions for three hours. She was absolutely patient and thoughtful. I've also been to the breastfeeding support group and again have been super impressed with Neelu and her team! We don't have any family in the City, but with Love Child it certainly feels like we do! read more

They helped me navigate through each stage of pregnancy and new motherhood with such care and kindness. Through the pandemic they've continued to provide a five star service; all yoga, community and kids classes moved seamlessly online, and recordings are available so you can join when time / baby allows! If you are pregnant and the studio is open again after the break, I strongly recommend you make it your go-to prenatal yoga place. Neelu is extremely sweet, supportive and knowledgeable not just about yoga / prenatal fitness but also many other pregnancy-related things. While the classes are somewhat repetitive, as you progress in your pregnancy, they hit you in different ways. And among other things, watching women in their last couple of weeks of pregnancy do yoga is hugely inspirational if you are earlier in your journey to motherhood. read more

If you're looking for a super cute yoga studio with a little more, look no further. I took a mother-and-baby-yoga class here and loved it. Neelu, the instructor, was fantastic. Very knowledgable about postpartum healing and incredibly patient - not to mention great with babies... Pros - Good classes and instructors (you can pay for a single class or buy a "pack") - Supportive environment. When I wasn't sure about getting a doula, Neelu took time outside of class to answer my questions and chat about my options - Non-yoga services (I want to try their parent-baby story workshops) - Very clean. They keep everything spotless since there are often babies crawling around Con - It's currently a pop-up. I hope they stick around. read more

There aren't many places like Love Child. There may be some places that offer prenatal yoga in the city but what differentiates Love Child is its holistic approach. I never did yoga before I was pregnant, and started going to Love Child as someone local to the neighborhood who was simply intrigued. Almost nine months later, I am still going. Love Child has helped me with this big pre/post transition in many respects, not just through the prenatal and postnatal yoga classes (which I still take). They have classes you can bring your baby to (while you're doing yoga, or music/move classes you can enjoy with your little one). It's a great place to meet other people who are going through the same phase, and has started to feel like a community. Truly a holistic space that thinks about every aspect of what you are going through. Neelu is highly educated in the world of pre/post natal and her staff are also lovely and very capable. But equally important is the vibe that is set by those who run the space - very welcoming, calm, and empathetic. I would highly recommend Love Child to anyone who is looking for ways to holistically improve their wellbeing (and also make new friends while you're at it!). read more

Love Child is amazing! I started going to Love Child when I was pregnant and it was the best thing I did for myself during pregnancy. Neelu's classes provided a sanctuary for me, a place to relax and prepare for the birth of my son. My mind was calm and my body strengthened. Love Child Yoga was a life saver for me! I met Neelu during one of her prenatal yoga classes. I immediately felt at ease in her studio -- small classes, personal attention, and overall great yoga routines. After taking a few classes I decided that Neelu was the right doula for me. Her calm demeanor and desire to help women plan their child's birth the way they want to was exactly what I needed. During my third trimester, she helped guide my husband and me through our many questions and concerns -- there were many, given it was my first pregnancy. On game day, she provided the perfect amount of support and advocated my needs at the hospital. In the end, I was able to have the birth I imagined and can't help but to think that Neelu played such an important role in this life changing experience!
