Luis repaired it for me so fast with incredible turnaround time within days. List of why Luis goes above and beyond: 1. Cared about saving me money whenever possible and was very transparent about prices, talked me through details and options for replacement screens and gave pros and cons of each while comparing prices. He sent screenshots of prices and receipts as well as FedEx tracking. (As an aside, I mentioned I might Lyft to his place to send the laptop and he said 'don't do that, so expensive, take MUNI and save money!') 2. After receiving my laptop, he also saw my right speaker had bad sound (I've been meaning to get this fixed for a while and have been putting it off) and offered to fix it himself. He was going to do it for an additional $50 then later just charged me $25 bc the speaker he found wasn't "perfect" according to him but to me it sounds great haha. This saved me so much instead of going to Apple without warranty which would have been at least $200 bc from what I read, they usually insist on replacing the entire "top case" and not just single speakers. Wow, thanks Luis! 3. I am badly organized and don't maintain my storage well; when I went to pickup he gave me many tips on what to fix and how to free up more storage, then organized my desktop for me in front of me. Thanks Luis! His communication is also top notch, very fast response times, very detailed texts. He's absolutely fantastic. You are in good hands if you go to him.

I brought in my DualSense controllers to fix analog stick issues and paid $100 to repair three knobs. Just one week later, I had the exact same issue with one of the supposedly repaired sticks. When I brought it back, I was charged an additional $60 to fix what should have already been resolved. What's most frustrating is that I couldn't get a clear explanation as to why I was being charged again for the same issue. If a repair doesn't hold up after a week, that should fall under some kind of workmanship guarantee--not an additional charge. I want to continue supporting this business because I've had good experiences in the past, but this situation felt unfair and left me questioning the quality and accountability of the repairs.

I signed in, he told me a few housekeeping things to be mindful of after the phone gets repaired. I dropped off the phone and it took no longer than 15 minutes. The screen worked great! Word to the wise. Know the value of your apple products when you bring them here. Dropped off a Macbook Pro that I asked them to check out to see what kind of shape they believed it to be in. When the computer changed hands between technicians, it was assumed I was looking to sell it to them. When I dropped off the computer, I indicated that I had reformatted, and erased the hard drive. I received a call from them the next day, saying that the hard drive was bad, and that the SD card slot was not working, and that they could buy it from me for $100. I explained again that I had wiped the hard drive, and they said they would take another look. Either they are dishonest, or incompetent. I'm not sure, which one is worse. I received another call later that afternoon, and they divulged that yes, the hard drive is fine. We can offer you $125. LOL. Another $25 now that the hard drive works? Now you're being blatantly dishonest. Even worse was the lack of eye contact when the $125 offer was made again in person when I went to pick up the computer. Felt like they were trying to take advantage of their customers. Just be honest about it. After it was clear I was not going to accept the low ball offer, they did admit, you can get a lot more for this online. This machine sells regularly on eBay for ~$500. We are your customers Love Haight. I understand that you are a business, and it doesn't make sense to buy computers at retail prices, because you won't make a profit. But don't prey on the people who keep your doors open. A lowball offer that could bring in 500% of the purchase price? Don't think I'll be coming back here. Tip for Love Haight: After seeing that I am not the first person to experience this at Love Haight Computers, I suggest they change their approach to purchasing mac products from their customers. Be upfront about what's available to the person you make an offer to. Some people will take the offer you make because it is more convenient to get the cash and sell it to you then, and there. Others won't, but they will walk away more informed about what they can ask for on the market if you tell them exactly what they can get for it online. In the long run, they will suggest your store to other people, or do business with you again because of your transparency. The current policy is very shortsighted, To earn a few hundred bucks at the expense of your reputation, and repeat customers. read more

I used to work for Love Haight Computers (LHC) in San Francisco, a very reputable and competent shop... (Thought I'd drop a plug for my old alma mater.) At LHC, we would sell many refurbished laptops and desktops and were very proud of the fact that these units were tip=top in shape, and operated at a state that was very close to brand new. In addition, LHC provided a one-year warranty on parts and labor, if anything did go wrong. For the most part, LHC's machine only had about a 3% return (which was covered by LHC) so it was a win-win situation for folks ,as LHC offered them at about 30%- 60% off the MSRP price (when they were new). Macintosh's are especially robust and if properly maintained, can last upwards of 10 years (especially if you get them cleaned out every 1 to 2 years). PC's not so much (about 3-5 years) due to different lesser-quality parts used. The takeaway, is that yes, you can get a great deal on a used machine, but you'd be well advised to get one that's refurbished. When purchasing used computers, one must be wary, as we had many people come to LHC to service a used machine (that had very quickly malfunctioned) that they bought on Craigslist or EBay. Many people who bought used units (without warranty) for extremely low prices on EBay or Craigslist, were very disappointed when we told them that the cost to fix such "lemons" was equal or higher than the price they paid for the units (on EBay or Craigslist in the first place. I myself purchased two iMac 27″ inch machines from LHC, and they are happily, buzzing along, with nary a hiccup, regardless of the fact that one of them is a Late 2009 and the other is a Mid 2011. Way kewl! So, the moral of the story is: BUYER BEWARE! Unless you buy from a reputable shop like LHC, which can provide a reputable warranty (minimal one-year), you may be purchasing a problem machine, that has no backup in terms of warranty support. In my personal experience of formerly working there and observing customer interactions, reliability and scheduling were consistent problems. During the entire time I worked there, the "Back in 10 minutes" sign was never removed. Appointments were difficult to rely on, and agreed-upon times were often missed. When handling customer repairs, deadlines that were given were frequently not met. Explanations were usually offered, but timelines continued to shift, making it hard to plan or rely on completion dates. In my experience, customers were often encouraged to purchase extended service plans (one can assume for the same quality of service), and older equipment was frequently recommended for replacement. On the employment side, the hours and pay I received did not match what was originally discussed when I was hired. After I was hired, he started changing the terms. I was brought on during a slow season, and when business slowed further, I was let go even though he should have reasonably been financially prepared for the slow-down from past seasons. Afterward, it took over two months to receive full payment for my work, with multiple delays and rescheduled payment promises. It was not a good experience. Coming from a corporate environment with formal HR systems, this was a very different experience than I was accustomed to. I also did not see much difference between how staff and customers were treated in terms of scheduling reliability and follow-through. Similar explanations were given in both situations. Best Spot in Town! I called around looking to sell my Mac, but no one was buying. I was eventually referred to Azam at Love Haight Computers, and it was a game-changer. Even though the Mac market is saturated, he took the time to talk to me directly and set up an immediate appointment due to my urgent situation. Typically, they require some time for a free estimate, but Azam expedited the process and had everything handled in just 30 minutes. He even helped me reset and clear my computer, ensuring it was in the best condition for resale. Instead of dealing with Craigslist headaches, sketchy buyers, and long wait times, Azam checked real-time vendor prices online and offered me 10% more--all without the hassle of shipping. Everyone should know about these guys!!! I needed a new computer and have been looking for a used Mac at a decent price that still had the bells and whistles I needed for work. I popped in here to check them out and had the BEST experience. I got all my questions answered, I got great advice, I didn't feel pressured to buy anything, the vibe was chill, the place was clean, all the computers were on display, and they have an adorable dog on site. I came in just to check out my options and do a little window shopping ... 30 minutes later I left with a brand new computer. When I was comparing models they were amazing at helping me find the newest model for the best price. I knew what I wanted in a computer but am not the most tech-y of people so they helped me figure out how much RAM I needed, etc. They made me feel completely at ease about buying a used computer because I was able to purchase a warranty ... if they believe in their product, so do I. They are the only Apple specialists I care to patronize. I accidentally knocked a beer onto my Powerbook in December 2011, Apple quoted me $1,200.00 to get me a new board and wouldn't guarantee to recover ANYTHING on my drive. Love Haight came at half that price, they did the work on-site and soothed my frayed nerves without making me feel like a fool. When my 2T terabyte drive crashed on me recently, Azam assured me that they would recover and gave me an amazingly affordable quote. It was filled with thousands of photos that I had spent more than a year selecting and distilling, my life's work that wasn't backed up anywhere else (other than countless files that I would have to revisit and start the process of selecting again...). I received awesome service and potential customers are entitled to hear about my experience - and it should contribute to the overall rating of the store. My third purchase was great too - I needed a really nice computer mailed overnight for a friend. I spoke with Oliver and Azam and they recommended the top of the line pc with all the bells and whistles for a great price....they added a few programs I requested, shipped it out that day and it arrived by noon the next day. I recently needed to grab a macbook pro quickly and without the hassle of shopping on Craigslist/Ebay and finding out I may or may not have grabbed a good product that works. I typed in "computers" on Google Maps and this shop popped up. I must say the review above me enticed me to stop by and I am happy I did. Love Haight Computers is an amazing team of knowledgeable people always willing to help you find exactly what you need, whether it's a short term or budget laptop, or a great deal on the beast you need! I purchased an old Macbook from them in the Summer and had some difficulties with its Top Case in the Winter, within its warranty, and they were extremely helpful. All I had to do was drop by, leave the laptop with them for a day or two and they called me back right away with all problems solved free of charge! Got my laptop fixed (water damaged) AND saved big $$$ by not having to buy a used laptop. I thought all was lost. I know nothing about the "inner workings" of my Mac Book Pro, so it's all about TRUST. I bought a MacPro 5,1 form Love Haight Computers about a year ago. I believe I worked with Oliver. Love Haight tricked out the machine with about every option they could and sold it to me for a good price. I use the computer every day creating hi-rez special visual effects using Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Cinema 4D running on OS X 10.12.6 Sierra. The screen had lines and would black out, making the laptop unusable. When I took it to the Apple Store, I was quoted $1,100 just to send it in for diagnosis, or $1,400 for a new laptop. I contacted two other repair shops, but they didn't handle Macs or water damage. Thankfully, I found San Francisco Bay Computer Services. They quoted me $467 for the repair, which included a screen with the Apple logo. I paid a 50% deposit, and they ordered the part, which arrived in just one day. I dropped off the laptop in the morning and picked it up the same day--fully repaired and working perfectly! They also provided a 30-day warranty on labor and assured me the parts have a manufacturer warranty. To top it off, I received a 20% discount on labor for my next visit (not that I hope to need it anytime soon!). Ed was responsive on the phone and texted me when laptop was ready for pickup. Their professionalism, efficiency, and fair pricing make them stand out. I highly recommend this business to anyone in need of computer repairs, especially for Macs!

When it arrived it seemed to work fine but after a few days I noticed that it would randomly reset. I was preparing to travel so I needed the laptop fixed urgently. I called Lenovo and they said I could mail it to them or take it to an authorized service center. I chose the latter and they referred me to Ameritech. I dropped the laptop off at Ameritech. Lavina at the front desk was very helpful. A few days later I have the laptop back and it is working perfectly. If I need any more work done on this machine I will certainly use them.
