I used to regularly work in Lakeland and I had three places that I would eat when I was in Lakeland. Lovebird was one of my three places. So you can imagine how happy I was when they decided to open a love bird in Winter Haven just a few miles from my permanent office. I think this location is even better than the Lakeland location because it is a little bigger than the parking lot is much better. They still have that absolutely fabulous crispy fried chicken that is so delicious. I love that you can cater it to your personal spice level. I like mine medium, but my mom prefers hers with no spice. Their fried chicken stays crispy even when it gets cold. Sometimes I'll go and grab myself some lunch while I'm at work and then get some fried chicken to take home to my husband for dinner and it's still crispy and juicy and fabulous. I also love that they have a meal that was invented for me. My favorite thing to order is called, The my girl ain't hungry. It consists of one giant chicken, tender in your choice of fried or grilled with a side and a drink for eight dollars. It is the perfect portion for me. Now, when people come to visit me in Winter Haven, lovebird is always one of the places I recommend we grab lunch. read more

A repair technician recommended this restaurant. He lives in Kissimmee but loves this place. I got the large white (2 breast/wing quarters) and 2 sides. I plan to take 1 piece & side to work tomorrow. I got the skin on fries to eat now & the jalapeño bacon cream corn to work. You have to choose a heat level. The levels are from no heat to what they call -why? I chose the why. It was delicious and habanero hot. The chicken was amazing! The crispy coating was seasoned with the habanero. Soooo yummy. They include a dipping sauce. Pick your pleasure. I'll definitely be back to try the many ways they prepare chicken. Fortunately there is a location in Lakeland too. read more

Eh, this place is definitely overhyped. I was pretty disappointed. I ordered the 2 chicken strips with fries & mac&cheese ( ranch and bbq sauce) My Fiancé had the fried chicken(they gave him a free piece) beans and jalapeño corn We both thought the chicken was bland and flavorless, without the sauce it's nothing. The bbq sauce was also nasty, it was not good at all.... The jalapeño corn my fiancé likes spicy but this was overly spicy. So spicy it just burned all your tastebuds and you couldn't taste anything else, the beans were SO SO... The Mac and cheese was OK but it had too much things in it, from paprika, roasted red peppers etc. I would definitely NOT return again. I was so happy I got to finally check out the Winter Haven location. I must say, it was just as amazingly delicious as the Lakeland location. We walked in and first of noticed the location was slightly larger. We approached the register and were warmly greeted. I ordered a "That Bama Chick" and a side of So Gouda Mac N Cheese, as well as a side of Jalapeno Bacon Cream Corn. I ordered my sandwich with Medium spice level, which is perfect for me, and it really compliments the sandwich nicely. Our food was brought out about 7 minutes or so after we ordered, which gave us time to grab our drinks, and find a table. The food was placed on the table and it looked as glorious as ever. Everything was exactly as I ordered, it was hot, and as fresh as could be. I must say everything tasted just as good as it would had I gotten it from the Lakeland location. I am not gonna lie, I was a little concerned that maybe it wouldn't be as good, but I was very wrong. The quality carries over to the Winter Haven location directly from the Lakeland location. I will visit this location again if I am in the area, and I will continue to bring friends and family to Love Bird, because it is some tasty food! read more

Waw I loved this place!!!! I'm never in the area and was going to do some errands so I intentionally looked up a place to eat and found this amazing gem. From the pictures and asthetic alone Í knew I had to trt this place out. The minute I stepped inside I was greeted by the cashier that was very nice and gave me some recommendations. I got the three tender combo with the cucumber salad and fries. Everything was amazing. Mind you Í wanted less than 5 minutes for the food to come out, the tenders were cru chu and supee flavorful, the cucumber salad refreshing and paired well with the heart chicken, and the fries super well seasoned. If you are in the winter Haven area you have to try Love Bird! The Big Velvet chicken sandwich was amazing, seasoned perfectly and the bacon and added anything extra you were looking for. The "why" grilled chicken is just as it's advertised lol WHY?! I should have listened to better reasoning and got a hot but not lip burning hot lol. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. My second time here, and I can confidently say that this has become one of my favorite places to get fried chicken. The chicken is super crispy on the outside for a great crunch but keeps the inside juicy and very tasty. The fries have not disappointed as they are seasoned and also cooked with the perfect crisp on the outside without being over cooked. What a fun place! I was notified by Yelp of this restaurant and was told to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. I don't normally eat fast food but this was so worth it. I got the seasonal. Elect chicken sandwich. It had medium heat with a healthy amount of Gouda cheese, tomato, and sauce. First, it was massive! And it was heavenly! The chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy, and so full of flavor! Lovebird is one of my favorite dining spots in Lakeland. So when I heard that they had opened a Winter Haven location, I knew I had to try it. I finally found a time to visit for lunch and I ordered the Large Dark with Collard Greens and So Gouda Mac. The Chicken was super juicy and tender with perfectly crispy skin covered in spicy flavorful seasoning. The juices from the chicken dripped on white bread to soak up the escaping flavors. The side of thick creamy garlicy bird sauce is a nice touch. The Collard Greens were heavenly: Juicy, tangy and tender. The Gouda Mac was super gooey, spicy and flavorful. As soon as you walk in the classic photos on the wall with their touch of flair is welcoming and fun. The food was amazing. The chicken tenders were juicy and had a great crunch, the mac and cheese was creamy and delicious, the banana pudding is out of this world. I highly recommend this spot. It's just not a food that I wake up and crave, all that changed the moment I took that first bite out of a Lovebird fried chicken sandwich. The My Boy Bleu sandwich was two pieces of the crispest, juiciest fried chicken tenders I've ever encountered growing up in the south. Bathed in buffalo sauce and sat atop a pool of Bleu cheese with thick cut pickle slices. Delicious is an understatement. The So Gouda Mac, I was blown away. Who the f thinks of putting ditalini in Mac n cheese?!? These guys did. With the spices it almost had a melted pimento vibe but it was perfect. The Collard Greens were the only thing that didn't quite blow me away but nonetheless they were tender without being mushy and seasoned well. All in all, 5/5 for absolutely blindsiding me with flavor, quality, price, and cleanliness of the establishment. read more

Finally got to try this place since it's always super packed!! Soo yummy! I had the Big Velvet with fries, got the Bird Sauce to dip the fries in! (thank me later) My friend got some strips with a side of their So Gouda Mac, she loved it. I tried the Mac and it was delicious. You ever walk into a restaurant and are instantly met with your vibe? That is exactly what happened to me when I walked into Lovebird chicken. The art on the walls, the bright neon pink lights, the pickle beer, the selections of chicken with HONEY.... All so me! We are not from the area so I had never heard of it before I saw its ginormous neon pink sign and was instantly drawn to try it out! I talked with Nick at the counter and he was so helpful in making sure I got to try a variety of things to experience the menu. The hot honey chicken sandwich was my absolute favorite as the chicken was perfect and the hot honey just dripping off of it. Soooooooo good. The grilled chicken was also delicious as was the collard greens. I really enjoyed the tomato and cucumber salad as it was a perfect palette cleanser between bites. The second star of the show had to be the banana pudding with the peanut butter whip on top. I have never had it that was before and was just in heaven! I love banana pudding and will choose it anywhere it is an option and now I'm always going to want it with peanut butter. The Mac and cheese was delicious with real cheese and bread crumbles on top. Perfect Fried Chicken. Honestly the best fast food chicken you can get. It's actual chicken, fried to perfection. It's not 70% breading - 30% chicken like some places. They are generous with sauce, for example the bird and bee sandwich comes with a hot honey sauce and you can rest assure it's gonna be dripping with it. French fries are cooked and salted well. And they have a perfect variety of sides and entrees. (They even have a meal for when your lady's "not hungry" ) The ambient is dope. Dope is the right adjective because it's got a super hipster style with great music. I kind of like that they don't have a drive through because every-time you walk in to LoveBird you remember how high quality it is. You remember you're not getting some chain restaurant quality service, food, and vibe- Your getting Lovebirds. And lastly - service. I've never had a "meh" experience with an employee. Don't get me wrong they may not be all sunshine and rainbows like chick-fil-a but that's because they're human and they're at work. But I will say that it's rare I don't get someone trying to help out. Either by offering a menu when they see me squinting my eyes to see the menu to offering to grab napkins for me. Whyyyy has it taken me so long to try this place?!! It's amazing!!! I've long since avoided the Lakeland location simply due to the crazy parking lot. But the Winter Haven location is where it's at! It's so cute inside. Pink everywhere! Head to counter, order, and they'll call your name when it's ready. Sit inside or on the patio. The chicken is.... Holy moly good! I've been a couple of times now, and between the two times and the family's choices we've had the tenders meal, the small white meal (bone in fried chicken) and the little meal called "My Girl Ain't Hungry". Grilled chicken or crispy, it's all great! The mac and cheese is amazing. The fries are great. The sauces are amazing (that bird sauce!) Get your chicken seasoned how you like it. So I got the bird in bee, so Gouda Mac and peach cobbler. This was all to go. No problem with the meal. the dessert was a disaster though I am almost certain that they gave me raw peach cobbler it was very runny I took a couple of bites decided I wasn't going to eat anymore. A few moments later..... spent a few hours in the bathroom sick. Really need to make sure your stuff's cooked through... Update: I ended up cooking that runny cobbler (next day) so that it was more solid like it was supposed to be and ate it with no issues next day. So I was served raw peach cobbler. read more

First let me say I absolutely love the location in Lakeland so when I heard that Winter Haven was getting one I was excited. I'm happy to report they did not disappoint and was just as good.
