I only got it because my brother suggested it. Normally I would not seek mushroom pastries even though I like mushrooms. The yuzu meringue croiffin was good, but I am not used to tart flavors in croissant/pastry combination. The cafe is very tiny, with only one table for seating, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot. There are seats outside. I also wanted to try the black sesame pastry, but didn't see it available when I visited. I'd definitely go back to try it. The drink was the standout for me!

As we were browsing and deciding, the lady at the counter was kind enough to offer us a sample of the butter rice cake. The butter tteok tasted pretty good on the spot so we bought a pack of 5 back home along with a hot and spicy salt bread and corn soboro. The butter rice cakes were already cold and hard when we got home, the inside was dense and chewy in a bad way. I didn't want them to go to waste so I tried reheating them in the over for a few minutes. It was warm but the texture never recovered, everything just got more dense and hard. The hot and spicy salt bread looked like a winner, but when we bit into it, the bread was just crunchy and overly buttery without a lot of flavour. The inside did not have the soft pillowy texture you'd expect from salt bread. The filling was a budget hot dog and some corn mixed with mayo. We cut the bread in half and my boyfriend said his piece had way too much mayo and mine barely had any. I grabbed the corn soboro thinking it would be delicious since it was corn season but was the most disappointed by it. I reheated the bread again to get the cookie top to crisp up. The soboro top didn't have a lot of crunch or flavour, it was just a layer of sweetness with no texture. The corn cream filling was not good, the corn was dehydrated and had no flavour at all. It honestly tasted a bit like canned corn that's over baked, I ended up scooping it out because the bread was better without it. Maybe it's better to go earlier when the baked goods are fresh and eat it there instead of taking it home.

The cupcakes are moist and juicy, which is something I look for in my cupcakes. It stays together in a concerted effort to give you the best texture, unlike some cupcakes out there that the second you use your fingers to take a piece apart it breaks down a stack of Jenga blocks. All (Oreo, Carrot, Vanilla and Red Velvet) cupcakes were deliciously semi-sweet, yep! The cupcakes were not over powering in sugar that it actually doesn't make you crave and want to gulp a galloon of water. The sweetness is subtle. And the frosting?! I have no idea what and how this business makes their frosting but if I was a kid in the kitchen you'd probably find me in the corner with a bowl stuffing my face of it. The frosting is delicious. The texture is almost that of whipped cream cheese (which it probably is) but slightly loose (if this makes sense). The important point: it doesn't get hard. I left a cupcake on my desk at work for probably a few hours and the frosting did not go stale. Anyhow, I recommend Little D's. The service fantastic and the owner is absolutely all about fantastic customer service. Side note: I didn't realize how long it's been since I reviewed. Boy am I rusty. Even with my 2013 badge snatched away from me, I Yelp on.
