I love this bakery We always get the strawberry with almond shaving. Everyone is always so nice and helpful. I feel like everytime I do a last min. customized cake they get it done. The cake is not too sweet and not too heavy. Also very affordable. I will continue to order from them.

Purple ombré chocolate vanilla cake with fresh strawberry whipped cream. I added the fresh flowers and rhinestone cake topper.

This bakery never disappoints! The fresh strawberry and whipped cream is so light and satisfying - not super sweet! Guests enjoyed the cake with seconds being served. I decorated the cake just before we left the bakery! Cake was ready when we arrived and the shop helped box and tent the cake for our car travel to the venue. Recommend for your party and events!

Confetti cake w/ vanilla custard filling!

Ruby Bakery always comes through! My daughter made a last minute request for a Confetti cake w/ vanilla custard filling and whip cream frosting in Tiffany Blue- they made it happen in 24 hours, so grateful. I normally would get their FRESH Strawberries in Vanilla cake w/ whip cream & sliced almonds for special occasions and birthdays - FYI, they have them readily available for purchase in different sizes and I believe they have other fresh fruit choices to choose from like mango and peach, as well. Give them a try, you wont be disappointed. 10 out of 10 for me.

This is my first time ordering a cake from them and they did not disappoint! I ordered a month in advance and Amy was great to call me the night before to make sure she got my requests right. I regret not ever ordering from them before. But then again, I wasn't much to celebrate, until I had a child. I'll definitely be ordering future cakes with them!

Our go to place for our family for cakes for decades. From birthdays, to graduations or just because. We always get the fresh strawberry cream cake with almonds. Don't ever change!

Cash only. ATM inside. Some parking in rear. Street metered parking or just walk about 1 block for free parking. We called ahead to order their special mango cake. We called two hours earlier to confirm and they weren't sure if it was ready but they were able to make sure to have one ready. It was delicious and pretty! Well packed in the box.

I've been going to Ruby's bakery for years and it has never disappointed! My favorite pastries are the eclair, the butterfly and of course the chocolate and coconut kisses. I've also had their strawberry cake and mango cake and both are super delicious. I ordered a custom cake for the first time recently and was SO impressed. It looked exactly like the inspo pic I sent , was super affordable and was so gorgeous. The birthday girl was so excited and it was so delicious!! 100% recommend. I added the butterflies (just a quick Amazon purchase) but the rest was the work of the amazing bakers and decorators.

Beautiful and delicious cake. Been ordering at Ruby bakery for many years. The cake was moist and the buttercream so good.

Do they have non-fruit flavors? driving out from west LA to celebrate a birthday in Eagle Rock. Thinking of getting a cake here but wanted to make sure there would be a cake the celebrant would like. Thanks!

Yes they have chocolate, vanilla, etc. even marble cake! Highly recommend this place you won't regret it. You'll probably consider making the drive whenever you need a cake 😂

Personally, I don't like that style, I was hoping the original would change that for me! Long story short, I didn't like the Walnut Chocolate Chip. I personally just don't like that style still, so I'll chalk it up as a "me" problem. The cooked part was good. The Rocky Road was cooked through. It was an amazing baked good with good flavor and add-ins. Between the roasted almond slices and fudgey chocolate chips, I was enjoying it immensely. A highlight of my day for sure. If you love underbaked cookies, Levain is your cookie shop! I don't and they had something for me too!

Based on my memories, this LA location keeps it consistent with a similar taste and texture as the NY location. 3.5/5 Chocolate Chip Walnut: This cookie was tall and slightly undercooked in the middle. The middle was a bit on the squishy side, and crunchy on the outside. Due to the undercooked quality, it's not a cookie I'd get regularly, though I am a big chocolate chip cookie fan. 5/5 Rocky Road: This was delicious. I'm not usually a marshmallow fan, but the addition of this ingredient formed a nice chewy consistency that I expect from a cookie. Chocolatey tidbits were well melted into the cookie texture and produced some fudgey notes. The cookie sizes are large and potentially shareable, and feel like an every once in awhile treat.

The ham is rolled up and in the center of the croissant, so make sure you bite into it lengthwise to get the ham and cheese all together. Fantastically savory!!! Elderflower Rhubarb: Not as sweet as it appears to be!! Delicious--the elderflower notes come through as you chew, and the ratio of jam to bread is generous. Chocolate Hazelnut Pain au Suisse: Tasty, chocolatey, and hazelnut flavors throughout. Feels like a refined Ferrier Rocher wrapped in bread. Definitely needed water alongside this one because it's quite rich! This was a fun spot to try, and the vibes are beautiful, cozy, and quiet on a weekend morning! I had been to the one in Laguna Niguel and this one in Little Tokyo is more spacious, with an area where you can eat. I bought an oyako pork shumai, curry pan and spicy curry pan. The shumai was like dumpling filling in a bun. My faves were the curry pan, which were super flavorful and vegetarian. The spicy curry one does have a kick (great for my husband), while I prefer the regular curry as I can't handle spice. Wish I had one closer to me!

It's like a fancy filet o fish without the soggy bun, packed with amazing fried fish and tarter sauce. I'm just disappointed when they don't have this in stock, but sometimes they would make more, and that'll just be an extra wait. Downside is that I first tried the fish panini years ago and it was a bit better then, but it's still good currently. Other pastries I've tried here have been pretty good. They had some various buns with mochi inside, and those were great. Another one of my fave is their mentaiko salt bun. Great flavor, though I wish they would stuff the thing with more mentaiko. Their curry breads are good too. I took my daughter here and she got one with cute emoji drawn on, and she said the custard filling and the bread was tasty as well. I've tried some drinks here and they were alright. A friend was into their banana matcha when they have that in stock. Pretty simple layout here. Get in line and see the goods, then you reach the cashier and order and pay.

They're also very on-trend, whenever a Korean dessert goes viral, they usually have it here. Recently, they even started selling butter tteok, and I heard it was one of the first places to have it in K-town. I highly recommend the salted bread. Honestly, I think it's even better than the famous spot everyone talks about. My favorite is the corn cheese, it's especially delicious when it's warm. I also tried the Korean chamoe (melon) smoothie, and it was very refreshing. It tasted like they used real melon, since there was a slight natural tanginess that made it even better. I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.
