We really enjoyed dinner here tonight. There was no wait when we came in so we were seated right away. Our server Thovmas was great and food was delicious! What stood out to me was the exceptional encounter between my kids and George who was at the pizza oven creating greatness. So sweet! I've been going to Bottega Louie for over a decade, and it's sad to see how much it has declined over the years. Ever since reopening after the pandemic, both the service and food quality seem to have steadily deteriorated. I keep returning out of nostalgia for what it once was, but each visit leaves me more disappointed than the last. On my most recent visit, the service was noticeably dismissive and a bit sassy. The food was equally underwhelming. The Calabrese pizza was excessively greasy, and while I managed to finish the ribeye because I was absolutely famished, it was overcooked and dry, but at only $65 for the bone-in ribeye with fries, I guess I can't really complain. What truly ruined the experience, however, was the pear martini. It arrived garnished with a pear that still had the produce sticker attached. At best, this demonstrates a shocking lack of attention to detail and at worst, it raises concerns about whether the fruit was even properly washed. Seeing that completely killed our appetites. The restaurant removed the drink from the bill after I asked them to, but unfortunately the response felt indifferent, as though no one particularly cared that such an obvious mistake had been made. After years of returning Bottega Louie, this visit was likely my last. It's disappointing to watch a once great restaurant decline so noticeably, but unless something changes, I can't imagine returning. read more

Made an online reservation for brunch on Sat and was seated immediately when we arrived. The restaurant was more than half full and wasn't too crowded, though there was definitely a constant stream of customers coming in. First of all, ambiance was great. The high ceilings definitely gives it an airy, spacious vibe. There was a good selection of classic brunch food on the menu, although we ended up getting the truffle pizza to share between the two of us (topped with an egg of course!). There was also a decadent selection of pastries at the bakery, and we shared a fruit tart for dessert. Truffle pizza - rich truffle flavor, not too overpowering. Light airy crust. It was a tad too much food for 2 people to share, and I think 3 people (plus an additional side) would have been perfect. We ended up not eating too much of the crust to save some stomach space. The pizza was made to order so it took forever ( more than 30min) to arrive and we were starving by the time it got to our table. Fruit tart - delicious fresh fruit. Not too sweet. I wish they used more custard on the tart. Overall decent fruit tart, but not the best tart I've had. Probably wont order again. If you're looking for a nice brunch spot with the girlies, this place has the perfect vibes for you. I definitely want to check out their WeHo location too. The pasta was just okay. The lobster pieces were cut so tiny, they were hardly present. The ribeye was good. The brussel sprouts were a bit too charred but quite delicious. The cake with the coffee was the perfect ending. The wine was fabulous. We used Parkwhiz to reserve parking in advance at One Wilshire Building. Parking cost was $8 for two hours and it is a short block to the restaurant. Regular parking there is normally $5 every 12 minutes or $40/ day. I love Bottega Louie!! Last weekend I celebrated my birthday here for dinner. I made a reservation which makes it so much easier to get seated on a busy night. Sure enough, we were seated right away. My daughter and I love the Portobello fries for a starter. They are so delicious and crispy, and the dipping sauce pairs perfect. For our meal we decided to share a Cesar salad and a pizza. For dessert we actually wanted the CHOCOLATE FRAMBOISE but they were all out. They actually were out of quite a bit of their pastries. The whole pastry counter was completely empty. This was my first time going to Bottega Louie and I was impressed! I honestly was craving the whole menu. My friend and I finally decided on the pepperoni pizza, the Brussel sprouts, and the Belgian waffle. The pizza was so delicious; it was evidently fresh, made with fresh mozzarella and tomato. The crust was perfectly cooked and crunchy! We were very impressed with the Brussel sprouts. They came mixed with candied walnuts, which was definitely my favorite part about this whole meal. It's still one of my favorite Italian restaurants in LA. This is a very large restaurant with a separate patisserie and bar. Beautiful decor. Valet parking is available, otherwise paid lot across Grand. We had a reservation, but there were lots of empty seats on a Friday night- a sign of the times. Service was okay. Our waitress was friendly but not the most efficient. The tables are also very close to each other and it's quite loud inside, so conversation is difficult. The food is the real star here from the complimentary freshly baked bread to the pastas and pizzas. We had the Gnocchi (5/5 stars) - outstanding and the Capricciosa pizza (4/5). The service was great and the dark candle lit ambiance serves as a great date night for anyone looking to celebrate. I attended during the dine LA event and ordered the Caesar salad , branzino, and vodka gnocchi. The gnocchi had great flavor able and a wonderful chew to it while the branzino was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth while being topped by a wonderfully tasty verde sauce. Bottega Louie - Gorgeous croissants and pastries! - Italian Near Me - Los Angeles, California

A couple of misses today. I've been a fan of Bottega Louie DTLA since it opened. 1) Service: 5/5 - quick, attentive, friendly . Ysabella is great. 2) the bread 5/5.- perfection, delicious 3) tomato bruschetta: 2/5 - first mistake was ordering this before all the wonderful bread arrived. No taste. Sone chopped tomatoes with bits of basil on toasted baguette slices. Where's the flavor ? 4 ) squash blossoms: 0/5 - this needs rethinking. Deep fried in a dough that's too thick, too chewy, and bland. The squash blossom was completely lost once you cut into this and the ricotta cheese came oozing out. The two thick creamy sauces served with this, when it's already full of creamy cheese, aren't a good complement. A complete miss 5) Gnocchi: 5/5 - delicious, perfect, enjoyed every bite. The shaved cheese offered at the table is a nice touch. I still love you Bottega Louie DTLA, but some of the food today left me underwhelmed. I'll be back ... read more
