Disclaimer: Not going to give a low rating and affect their score, because I ultimately chose to cancel my appointment so I don't think it would be fair to do that without having the full experience. But I did want to leave some info on here in case it might help some other brides, especially other plus sized brides like me. When I first got engaged and started researching Seattle bridal shops, I reached out to Lovely and asked about their plus size selection because I really didn't know what to expect. They responded in writing to me that "all their designers go up to a size 26-32". I took this to mean that as long as I was a bridal size 26 or under, I could order any dress in their store. I was so excited to come shop here because I was obsessed with a particular designer who I felt so connected to based on their unique gowns. Lovely's lookbook portal showed that they had several gowns from this designer in plus size samples in store, including three I was so in love with from pictures. A week before my appointment, I finally took the time to go to the actual designers website, and saw that their size chart stopped 1-2 sizes (based on the measurements in the chart) below mine. I was concerned but thought maybe Lovely knew something I didn't know. When I initially made the appointment, I went as far as to share my actual measurements (not just my street size) and I also emailed them proactively to let them know I was interested in these specific gowns from this specific designer. They responded that I had good taste and they looked forward to having me in. I thought maybe they knew the dresses might be more forgiving than the size chart, or maybe they had a deal with the designer to be able to order made to measure gowns from them. Just to be safe, I reached out to Lovely to specifically ask if I would ultimately be able to order a gown from this designer. It was hard to get in touch with them, as I found they do not answer their telephone. They also need 3-4 business days to respond to emails (fair enough, I totally get that it's busy season). I didn't have that much time before the appointment to get my answer, so I also messaged them on social media when I saw them posting the designer in question on their Instagram story. They eventually responded on social media letting me know that I would not be able to order from that designer in my size. They said maybe I could order a smaller size and have it altered to be bigger, depending on my measurements. These gowns are already so costly, I wouldn't feel comfortable ordering a dress in the wrong size and committing to having it altered to be bigger. I know even simple alterations will likely be expensive as it is, altering to increase the size of the dress doesn't feel right for me personally. I hope maybe there can be more transparency on Lovely's lookbook portal as to what size range is carried by each designer, especially if they are advertising that they carry a designer's plus size/curve samples in store. To give them credit, many shops do not provide this transparency, this is not unique to Lovely. I actually thought Lovely went a step further than other shops by showing online what curve samples they have in store for try on, many other shops don't even do that. If you are plus size, please take this as a caution to look on the actual designer's website before getting attached to any gowns (this is my fault, not Lovely's fault, I should have done that earlier). If you are not plus size I envy you because Lovely definitely has some of the coolest designers of any bridal shop in Seattle, and I hope this info doesn't prevent you from visiting them. read more

Having a health challenge during the time between your dress purchase and your wedding is the most stressful. So I had to change dresses to something I could easily continue to alter/alter last minute but the dress wasn't quite right. And I really wanted a Saint designer dress but since that wasn't an option, I was so excited that Lovely Bride sells Saint accessories, including sleeves!!! Robin helped me try on the sleeves with my dress and even though it was a very short appointment, she made me feel so special and taken care of. On the day of, I completely changed the direction I wanted to go in, and Clare instantly saw my new vision. In fact, the dress I bought was one of the first three that she brought in for me. As a midsize bride, I was really worried about how bridal sizing might impact my options, but it ended up being a total non-issue. Unfortunately, I had a pretty miserable experience with this bridal salon that started from the moment I walked into the door. This is long but worth it if you are a bride considering purchasing from here. 1. The associate that was helping me tried to repeatedly stuff me into samples sizes that were too small after I explained my body dysmorphia and wanting to avoid that. She proceeded to tell me that I don't have the body for a fitted dress...which is not true, I wear fitted clothing regularly and am perfectly comfortable with my curves (6'1, 200lbs, size 12...I'm tall, hour-glass type). 2. I was not informed that my dress had arrived (I wouldn't have ordered it from here but I couldn't find this dress anywhere in Washington). They had it for a month and proceeded to tell me it was my fault, that they tried to get a hold of me - which they didn't, checked all my records and their tracking site - very frustrating. 3. Put my dress on and it didn't even touch my feet even though I ordered it with extra length...being 6'1 this is a non negotiable. This then turned into a blame fest again that I didn't order the dress properly. That is not my responsibility, they ordered the dress wrong and tried to blame me. 6. Additionally, during this try-on, there were other issues with the dress that they could have told me about vs me asking why a $4k dress had issues...very lacking in good communication or communication at all. 5. After WEEKS of back and forth, they were able to get my dress fixed with the appropriate length after trying to blame myself and the designer. 6. I've been visiting this salon for my dress since October 2022 and haven't seen the same associates at any visit - they seem to be having big turn-over issues that is disrupting how the business is being run. 7. They would be getting 1 star if I didn't LOVE my dress and were the only salon that carried it. read more

I contacted them to see if they had a specific dress in store. They did, but informed me the designer was no longer making it so they wouldn't be able to order it for me. I asked if I could try it on anyway and they reiterated they couldn't order it. They were tryin' real hard to keep me out of the store. So, I finally had to say that I found the dress being re-sold by a bride online and I'd love to come in to try it on. It's awkward, I get it, and a simple no would have been cool. Instead, I got Pretty Woman-ed hard. Then they made me an appt for the next day, but then the manager called me to cancel it due to a "bridal emergency" in which a bride from a different store needed that exact same dress ASAP. Riiiiight. After emailing the manager w/ a complaint she stated that even with my situation, the stylist "still carved out time out of her very busy day to show me the dress." Is that not her job? To show brides dresses? Yikes. Just tell me no from the get go. An unwelcoming experience from what seems to be a really petty place. Love love love! I cannot say enough positive things about Lovely Bride and Carly in particular. Carly listened so well to what I was looking for, helped me experiment, and ultimately found me a dress that is so *me.* Unlike at other salons I visited, I didn't feel like I was in a wedding factory churning out brides, but that Carly was genuinely interested in helping me feel comfortable, confident, and gorgeous. Even with COVID precautions (two guests + masks when I visited in February 2021), it felt like a special bridal experience. Even after the dress was ordered, Carly went above and beyond. She hosted us for a second accessories appointment and put me back in the sample, permitting my sister could see the dress in person and giving us a chance to try out a mix of jewelry from home and accessories from the store. Carly knew I was on a short timeline with alterations, so let me know the moment my dress arrived and accommodated my last minute pop-ins to pick up my dress and accessories. Lovely Bride was my 4th dress appointment and I had an awesome time, especially because of my stylist Katie! She was super nice, hilarious, clearly knew what she was talking about and made me feel totally comfortable - which makes the whole process way more fun. She quickly understood my style and vibe and pulled great options for me. I mentioned being interested in a cape-look and she even pulled one for me to try with the dresses. The store itself has tons of beautiful dresses in multiple styles for all budgets. I was looking for a more modern, sleek dress (I'm not into lace, beading etc.) and had trouble finding options - this was the first place that had a multitude of options for me in my budget! The space is absolutely gorgeous but relaxed with great lighting - the mirror I was standing in was lit by tons of natural light so I could get the best idea of how the dress would look day of. I had a very amazing experience at the Lovely Bride. From the start, the shop was very organized and on top of all COVID regulations. Secondly, COVID did not take away from the day being any less special. I was worried things wouldn't feel the same wearing a mask and not having as many bridesmaids around due to the regulations. But, they make sure your experience doesn't get ruined. Carly was awesome from the beginning in helping me find dresses. I have a hard time making decisions and staring at all the dresses on lifeless hangers was daunting. I didn't know which ones I wanted to try on and Carly persuaded me to just go for it and start trying them on. She was very caring and made me feel great in my dress! She let my crazy mom and best friend take all the pictures in the world. She also kept my budget in mind and had me try on gowns around my budget. I'm ranting but she was awesome and made me feel so comfortable and confident that I chose the right dress. I felt she was genuinely happy for me. Lovely Bride was the first shop I went to following the COVID-19 reopenings in Seattle. I worked with Carly, who was so wonderful and was patient, answered all my questions, and gave me some great advice. She said to me, "All dresses are pretty, it's just about finding the one that you feel like a Bride in." That truly was some of the best advice I've received about getting my wedding dress and have even passed that along to a few friends! The whole experience was lovely. It felt safe, clean, and it was clear that they are passionate about finding the right dress for you and not just selling you on something. Also, they have some great accessories (bomber jackets, camped, shawls, etc.) that are so perfect and sometimes harder to find at other locations. I came in feeling nervous as hell and left on cloud nine. This was my first dress trying experience. Between the holiday junk food and gaining some weight post-injury, I've been dreading this part of the wedding planning process. Megan immediately put me at ease. I really wanted to love this place. I received my dress after calling multiple times when is was going to be in. They originally told me June- I received it the third week in June and was getting married at the end of July. I went to to the alterations lady after picking it up and she told me it would be over $800 which was weird since this place measures you for "made to order." The dress felt at least 2 sizes too small. The dress also looked a little different from when I tried it on. I called the shop and went back to get remeasured and they said "you've gained 3cm, sorry we can't do anything for you." 3cm!!!! This was only in a few months and my body hasn't fluctuated. what! I originally told the lady that I know this is a tighter fitting dress but that I don't want it skin tight. She assured me she ordered the correct size. Just beware that your dress may not fit, may not be at the shop when they initially say, and to always double check your sizes. Oh and also that alterations definitely cost more that what this shop puts in its emails/texts. Not to mention the straps and chest area were incredibly scratchy, uncomfortable, and didn't fit well. Oh my gosh, I had the BEST time at Lovely with Megan! It was my first time dress shopping and I decided to go by myself to get a feel for what I liked/didn't like and it honestly felt like I was just hanging out with an old friend. She's hilarious, kind, makes you feel comfortable, and put me in 5 dresses that I seriously LOVED. In that sense, she didn't make my job very easy, but there are worse problems to have :) My face was hurting by the end of my appointment from laughing so hard. She is wonderful!! Can you bring champagne to drink during your appointment? Yes. Do they have a refrigerator and glasses for your champagne? Yes, which is very thoughtful of them. Can you enjoy the nice bottle of champagne you bring if your sales consultant is under 21? No, and it would have been very nice to know this at the time of booking the appointment. We were very excited to enjoy champagne during my sister-in-law's bridal appointment, but were unable to due to the fact that our (very nice) sales consultant was underage. If this matters to you for your appointment, I would advise ensuring your consultant is of age. Other than that, our consultant was very friendly and eager to help my sister-in-law in her quest to find a beautiful dress. The store also has a lovely selection and offers trunk shows frequently. read more

Lovely Bride was the first stop I made in my day long of trying on dress, which by the way, I don't recommend a FULL DAY of dresses, split it up! Out of my 3 stops, lovely was by far the best experience I had. My bridal consultant, Megan was incredible. I highly recommend asking for her if possible. She made me feel comfortable, had conversation with me about the recent episodes of the bachelorette, and truly followed what I said I was looking for with zero pressure. She stayed in my budget, and brought me plenty of gowns to try on. They allowed my girls and I to pop a bottle of champagne and share the celebration together. Although I didn't buy my gown from lovely due to budget reasons, I did come back the next day and order a lace topper. Lovely treats you so well, they cater to your liking.
