This place is a rip off. I paid $70 for a full set at my regular salon. They happened to be closed so I stopped in here for a fill. They charged me $80! And it was 3 days ago, I'm on a flight going on vacation and one of the nails already broke. They were lop sided and lumpy on top of over priced. Also usually salons prefer you tip in cash which is understandable but this salon will only accept Venmo's or cash for any payment at all because they're dodging paying taxes or claiming income... which I find bothersome and it doesn't sit right with me because.... As a tax paying citizen.... Nevermind. If you know what type of programs, grants and assistance that goes into businesses like this. This was the worst mani/pedi that I have ever had - worse than even ones I do on myself. I called ahead and asked if they could take two of us. I let my stepdaughter go first and had to wait a while. No big deal. My stepdaughter was getting a fantastic massage. The girl spent a lot of time on her. The only flaw was that she hurt her when clipping. Ten minutes after my stepdaughter was started, my woman rushes over, apologizes for keeping me waiting, then she rushes through - barely scrubs or massages me, got me out of the chair and on to my manicure while my stepdaughter was still getting her pedicure. During my manicure, she said that she was only putting on one coat of polish - said it would last longer. I didn't have my glasses on and didn't see what a hack job she did. I gave her a $15 bloodily tip for a $60 job - my usual. When I got out in the daylight with my glasses on - she had not full removed my old polish. There is a ridge of the old polish. On some toes, the polish doesn't go all the way to the sides. It has already worn off the tips on some of my toes. I was in the drying area and my stepdaughter, who started before me, was still getting her proper manicure. Avoid the older woman who is from Boston, but comes to work for the summer. She is greedy - does a rush job so she can move on to the next and get more money. Photos are from a little over a week later. They don't lie. read more

I have to say that I have never been to a nail place that I have fallen in love with so much. They do such an outstanding job with my nails and always make me feel so welcome and happy. It's a pleasure to be there since I have two babies at home and don't do anything else for myself. There's no lift as they are growing out and look very natural. They also don't make me feel self-conscious about my psoriasis on my hands, instead they have found non-chemical alternatives for me so that I don't have a reaction. I, honestly, couldn't be happier. Buyer beware.... Here's a warning about using a gift certificate at this local nail salon in Harwich center. I was given gift certificate in June 2022 and went to redeem it today. The service price increased and they would not honor the original price. On the gift card it says manicure and pedicure and then the cash amount. I wouldn't exactly call this place horrible, but my experience here is pretty bad. Today, I wanted to go in and get acrylics because I've never gotten them before. I go in, I show the lady the nails I want, and she begins. During the process, she cut me 3 times with the electric file, and once with the normal file. When she was done with my nails, they were... questionable. First of all, my reference picture was WAY different from my actual nails. And on top of that, they got wider as they went up, which I didn't like. My mom even said they look like shovels. And she was right. When we were paying, my mom told the owner and she tried to file them down with a regular nail file but that didn't work. We paid $75 for my nails. Although this happened, the lady was really nice like when she cut me, she immediately apologized. read more

Please read the reviews before you go to this place. There are numerous reviews that one of the technicians was rough and I cannot stress enough that those reviews were probably accurate because I had the same experience. My technician also seemed to have a problem with the colors I selected for some odd reason. she encouraged/pressured mean to do a different color and foolishly I did. Then she asked/told me 10 times it was a great color looking for validation. I agreed with her because I just wanted to get it over with, but should have stayed with my first choice. The pedicure was extremely quick, which I had no problem with because I just wanted it done but obviously a pedicure supposed to last more than 20 minutes. She used a drill on one of my toes which I told her was very sensitive. Everything was going fine until, she hurt me and in shock I let out a little gasp. She actually mimicked my gasp. I couldn't believe it. There are enough reviews on here saying similar things. No matter how much I want a pedicure I will never ever go back. I hardly ever write a review, but I had such a bad experience there I'm actually still thinking about it a day later so I decided to do so. One final note. I do not like writing bad reviews. This is my first one actuallyIf I have a bad experience, I tend to lean towards that somebody was having a bad day, and I do not want to hurt a business, especially a small business. I've been off and on to Lovely Nails for over 16 years. In the beginning it was always consistent and excellent. That has changed dramatically in the past quite a few years. I decided to give it another try as it has been several years since I've been and sadly it has not improved. My technician today, who wasn't very friendly, did a good job on my toes but my fingernail manicure service was an entirely different story. She was rough, was back and forth between texting on her phone and my manicure service and the cuticle cleanup and polish job was sub par. The polish must be old as it never dried completely or the top coat was bad. Either way, After an hour + and believing they should be good at that point.... nope! see the photos posted. I won't go back. I've given this establishment so many chances at redemption and I have to say I am done. Cookie and Peter, you're a lovely couple but a course in proper customer service with all of your staff (new and old alike) and going through your polish inventory is a recommendation well worth considering implementing. read more

One of the best nails salons I've been to AND one of the best manicures I've have in a while. At first though, I was a bit hesitant based on some of the reviews I read - but that was short lived. I called to make an appointment, which unlike many other nail salons, they actually honored and had a spaced already set up for me. The nail tech took her time and made sure that I liked the shape every few steps of the way. I got the 'dip powder' manicure and she did a great job making sure each coat she put on was precise and there was no cuticle left. The space was very clean, they had a great selection of polish, and the price I thought was very in-line with most other salons where I typically go. I went here for a mani/pedi with my brother at the end of Nov. We were lucky that they were not busy on a Saturday morning and we were seated right away. Overall good selection of polishes to pick from and the place is clean. The woman who helped my brother was super sweet and very friendly. We were laughing, making jokes, telling stories, etc. The woman who did my mani/pedi was pretty rough with me, pulling on my hands/feet and giving off body language that I was annoying her. She barely looked at me and probably said less than 5 words the entire time I was there (1.5 hrs). My manicure started chipping after about a week. Not to mention, she did not seem to be trained in the field of cosmotology-nail technician. The pedicure I could have done better myself. I am a local of Harwich and this is the only place on the cape I like to come to get my nails done. I have been here in both the summer and the off-season, and I have always had a great experience! I only ever get shellac, and they always do a great job, and it isn't too expensive either. One time my polish chipped the day after, and I went back and they gave me a whole new manicure for free to fix it. The staff is friendly and professional, and willing to work with what you want. I have changed my mind mid-mani or pedi before, and they are always willing to do what I ask without a second thought, or give me advice if I am unsure. I would highly recommend this salon! P.S. I called for an appointment knowing they close at 5pm. The employee asked me to come at 4:15. I got there at 4:15 and was told to pick my color and have a seat. I sat in a treatment chair with my polish in hand for 15 minutes. The atmosphere was not warm & friendly and I felt like I was getting the stink eye from behind the masks. There are better salons on the cape for dip. I went to this one often because it was the closest in proximity to my house but the last few dip manicures I've received have been just okay. They aren't the worst and are good for regular polish and pedicures but that's about it. The past couple dip colors I've had on my nails were supposed to be opaque (turquoise and hot pink) yet for some reason I could see my nail underneath where the white was like I was getting a transparent color which I wasn't . I know it's not the biggest problem but when you pay $45 for a COLOR and it is kinda see through, it's frustrating. I don't know if the products they use are bad or if it was my technician. The last straw through was when I was getting my dip manicure and a black spec somehow landed in my thumb nail. Cookie, my technician, saw it, tried for a second to drill it off, and when it didn't come off instead of trying to put some pink over it she left it and put the clear coat on. Not only was I a little frustrated that she left it on, now my thumb was very uneven due to the heavy drilling it that one spot. Her drilling was uneven on many of my nails and all in all just convinced me to try a new spot next time around. I know she did a poor job because a client came in during my dip manicure asking for a dip from cookie so she rushed mine to fit her in too. Not a great experience here. The girl who did my pedicure was nice and she didn't do a bad job painting them but the tools she used, especially the foot scrubber, were nasty. I seriously wanted to stop her and just leave. I hope they do something about this because it's not sanitary and could spread infection. Needless to say I will not be back. read more

I made an appointment for 3:30pm and they were so busy I wasn't taken until 4:20pm. I had tips on that had to be taken off which usually takes about 10 minutes but she left me soaking for over 25 minutes in acetone with tin foil while she went to do a pedicure. i then stated I wanted new tips and she said "your nails are long enough you don't need tips" but that's what I wanted and she would not do them. She was doing 3 people at once! It was obvious she was trying to rush everyone in and out to make the most money she could. So I walked out with no tips and a bad French manicure almost 3 hours later. They take cash only and when I asked for a receipt she said "we don't give receipts" but that I forced and she wrote the amount down on a business card. That's all she would do. I would have put up WAY more of an argument for getting the tips, and the bad manicure but my mother who I was with, really likes her and goes there all the time, so I didn't want to ruin it for her. So now that was a waste of $57 and I have to get them Re-done correctly! The polish doesn't even go down to my cuticles. I do not recommend going here. And this was the owner that did all this. I live 1/2 mile from this business and my daughter talked me into a pedicure. I walk in and I'm seated by a somewhat older employee. She proceeded lickety split and I was done before I knew it. No massage NO callous removal like I expected and, like my daughter had informed me. Put my sandals on' Paid $35.00 and went home. Toes didn't feel right so my wife and I examined them. WELL A PAIR OF HAND HELD HEDGE TRIMMERS COULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB. The nails were all cut unevenly and had rough edges the constantly caught on my sox. Went back to the store to obtain a refund from the owner, not in; the supervisor, also not in. I called to ask how much a pedi and a gel mani cost and was quoted around $50 so when I went for my appt and went to pay and was told it was $80 I was obviously a little taken a back (I had never been to a place where they did gel on your toes as well) Then when I took out my debit/credit card I was told they only took cash or check, which is NOT what is posted on here. For $80 I would have expected top notch pampering. I don't know if the woman doing my toes was distracted but she was literally filing the skin on my toes and also filed the nails crooked I noticed after I left. I have gotten MANY manicures and I have always gotten moisturizer rubbed into my hands at some point. I just had the worst pedicure of my life at Lovely Nails today. The technician cut the sides of my big toe nails so short that they throb. it will take months to undo the damage before the nails grow out to a normal length. Not only that but my feet are rough and covered with callouses that are normally smooth after a pedicure. To make matters worse, I paid a ridiculous $55.00 and didn't even get a the foot massage that normally comes with a pedicure. So let me start by saying I only come to this nail salon if I desperately need my nails done while on vacation in cape cod during the summer. Granted I came on the only rainy day for days right around the 4th of July, so the place was beyond busy, but I made an appointment and still had to wait 30 + minutes. I got a gel manicure from a young girl who hardly knew what she was doing, then I was rushed over to the pedicure chair for an extremely rushed 10 minute pedicure that cost $30. There wasn't enough chairs go sit under the dryer so I had to stand until someone was done because they rushed someone else into the pedicure chair. My manicure barely lasted one week. $70 later for a very un-relaxing and poor job. I'll never be so desperate to get my nails done here on vacation again read more
