The worst salon ever!! Horrible owner!! My grandmother in Florida purchased me a gift card from Margaret's Nails. We were never told there was an expiration date. I came in this morning and they scanned my card and I was told it's expired. Owner did nothing to make it right. I'm taking Margaret to municipal court- I warned her if she won't make this right. My grandmother spent $200 on this gift card. Margaret has no ethics. Not a way to win a customer. Poor service. Stay away. I am going to Livingston Municipal Court in the morning as advised by Livingston Police. This is not a way to run a business. When you sell gift cards you should inform buyer and customer that they expire and at the very least make things right if you want to have returning customers. read more

I'm so happy that I've found this nail salon! Margaret's is a gem; excellent service, quality care and an unbeatable price. The gel manicure is only $25 and they really do a fantastic job from start to finish. My nails look polished and professional for 2+ weeks (I have fast-growing nails) and when they are removed, my nails have not been damaged or thinned out, as has happened before at previous salons. Management is incredibly rude to their customers, needs to learn how to properly run a business and what customer service is. After causing an injury - the owner did not apologize or attempt to rectify the situation. Instead gave me attitude and tried to force me to pay for them injuring me. I would recommend the manager takes a few courses on how to run a business properly. Although my pedicurist was extremely apologetic and sincere, the management turned me off completely. I went and got tips with gel on top. The woman told me it would be $35 for the gel but failed to say the tips would make it $70 total. I know tips are an expensive add on but it would have been nice to know the total price before hand. The nails started popping off within 2 days of the manicure and I would have to reglue them on with nail glue. After a week, I just pulled all the nails off myself because I could not deal with them constantly popping off anymore. Usually my tips can last for over 3 weeks, sometimes 4 if they do a good job. And it's for almost half the price! It was a disappointing experience and I will not be returning. :/ The experience at the salon itself was pleasant and all personnel were very polite. However, it does not outweigh how short my nails lasted. read more

I LOVE this place. I've tried a few other places in Livingston but keep coming back here. Kim, the owner, is always present and working herself along side her employees which I have a lot of respect for. Friendly, hard working staff. The salon is not fancy. Simple decor but it's CLEAN which is really important to me. It costs $25 for a mani-pedi which will get you a mani that lasts about a week and pedi that lasts for at least 2. The manicure includes the typical cleaning, warm water soak, hand massage, polish application and the pedi includes cleaning, foot soak, foot/shin/calf massage and foot/shin/calf exfoliant scrub. They also do a HOT STONE massage on your legs and feet - ALL of which feel SO AMAZING!!! I should note they take their time giving you the massages/scrubs and it doesn't feel rushed like it does at other places. Once the feet/legs are thoroughly cleaned your feet are placed into your flipflops and they put a paraffin wax treatment on your heels while they paint your toe nails (another extra you typically have to pay extra for at other salons!). Once you're all painted up and done they sit you down at the nail drying table and hand you magazines of your choice for your drying pleasure and give you an AWESOME shoulder/neck massage! Again, they take their time with it and it's not rushed which makes such a big difference. I always leave here feeling SO RELAXED and as if I just had a mini spa day! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place! Yes, it is less expensive for gel manis but there's a reason why. You get what you pay for I guess. My mani was streaky and uneven. I pointed it out to the nail tech. She spoke to her colleague in Spanish and just ignored me. I told her again and pointed it out. She buffed my nails and put top coat on it and said finished. I told her but the problem isn't gone, nails are still streaky. The owner came by and said well some colors are like that! I had even told her I want opaque not sheer when selecting the pink. She gave me the polish. Yet it's streaky and terrible. And no apologies, just pay up and goodbye. The tech also gave a shoulder "massage" which was ridiculous. Maybe she did it for show for the owner. She was basically moving her fingers and there was zero pressure. What a waste of time! read more

Randomly chose this nail salon because I was in the area and had read the previous reviews of this place. Wasn't sure what to expect but I'm glad I stopped in. The place was small and quaint. Not very busy maybe because it was a weekday. The owner was very nice. My manicurist was really good and took the time to cleaning and polishing my nails. She was very patient even when I asked her to repaint the nails that I wasn't satisfied with. I would definitely go here again! Love it! read more

Went there (for the first time) for a pedicure and decided to go for a rejuvenating spa instead ($35). It's a small nail salon just the way I like it and morning time was perfect with hardly anybody in there. Everybody was polite. Marci was my attendant and I have to say that it was one of the best pedicures I have received in a long time...it pretty much beat some expensive spas in Scottsdale, AZ where I came from (recently moved to NJ). I went there for a pedicure and the woman shaved my toe down so hard that layers of skin ripped off that I started to bleed. It's been 2 hours since, and I'm still bleeding. I understand mistakes happen, but the owner asked me to pay for it afterwards!!!! She didn't even understand why I wanted my money back and I had to fight for it. The service was good, but I was not happy with my nails. I got a gel manicure and pedicure, and the gel manicure was sloppy. I instructed the nail technician of places where she painted on my skin, however, my manicure still looks amateur-ish as the polish cured on my cuticles. I am from out of town and needed a quick fix before going to wedding. I looked up places in the area and saw that this place had good reviews. They were very friendly however I did not have a good time. I think the owner did my nails, I had nail polish on that was not easy to take off and she literally scratched off my nail polish which was painful. She did not clean underneath my nails either and she filed my nails why too short. The process of putting the gel polish was normal and I was used to it. When she was done I had realized that she applied my color very sloppy. I did not say anything because I was thankful they took me in as quickly as they did.
