I'm on their email list and occasionally they send out discounts for last-minute bookings. I received an email for $25 off and decided to book a massage. The coupon was for certain levels of service, but on their website where they describe the services, none of them have designations. So just to be safe I called up and asked if the service i wanted was included. It turned out that it wasn't, because it was a higher cost. Which, first of all, strange: most places want you to spend more money. But also, I wouldn't have known that based on their website, so they need to do a better job making these things clear. The receptionist was very nice and trying to be helpful (five stars just for her), and told me she'd check with her manager to see if it could be used on the more expensive service and call me back. They did end up calling back the next morning and saying I was welcome to book the longer service and they would honor the discount. So I booked a service for the next day. The morning of my service rolls around and I get a call cancelling the massage because their system had booked it in a time slot that overlapped the MT's break. When I asked if they would honor the discount on a future day (since it was time sensitive it expired that day) I was told they wouldn't. If I had cancelled as a customer with less then 24 hours notice, their policy is that I would owe a 50% cancellation fee. But apparently they can cancel same-day and not offer anything to the customer for the inconvenience. Very disappointed in the lack of service.

Man oh man, where do I even begin? One word comes to mind: OUTSTANDING…read more From the moment I walked in, the experience was exceptional. Sorra at the front desk was warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. She took the time to explain the services they offer and even asked if it was my first Thai massage, which I appreciated because it showed she genuinely cared about understanding my expectations and comfort level. But the real star of the show was Nikki. Without a doubt, Nikki is the best massage therapist I have ever had--across both the United States and the Philippines. And that's saying a lot. I came in carrying the consequences of two consecutive workout days, tension headaches from work, and what felt like months' worth of stress stored in my muscles. Nikki immediately knew exactly what needed attention. She found every sore spot with incredible precision and consistently checked in to make sure the pressure was right. What impressed me most was that she didn't just provide a massage--she educated me throughout the session. She explained the importance of stretching, muscle recovery, circulation, and how tension affects the body. Her knowledge and professionalism were evident in everything she did. Every movement felt intentional, calculated, and therapeutic. She worked diligently from head to toe, and when I requested extra attention to my neck and head toward the end, she delivered exactly what I needed. She could immediately tell how tight and overworked my muscles were. Even the way she incorporated back-walking techniques felt incredibly controlled, safe, and effective. By the end of the session, I genuinely felt like a brand-new person. The heaviness I walked in with was gone. My pain and discomfort improved dramatically, and I felt lighter, looser, and more relaxed than I had in weeks. And can we talk about the balm she used? Absolutely magical. It had that soothing hot-cool sensation similar to Bengay, but far more refined and relaxing. Not overly hot, not overly cold--just perfect. Beyond her technical skill, Nikki was simply wonderful to talk to. She thoroughly explained what she was doing, shared stories about her life and her children, and made the entire experience feel personal and comfortable. She is relatable, genuine, knowledgeable, and incredibly easy to connect with. There are good massages, there are great massages, and then there are the rare experiences that remind you what true expertise feels like. Nikki delivered that experience. If you're considering booking here, do yourself a favor and request Nikki. Your body will thank you. One final touch that made the experience even more special was the tea they served after the massage. Thank you, Sorra! I had to request for an extra cup. I honestly don't know exactly what kind it was, but it was absolutely delicious. I was told it was imported from Thailand, and it was the perfect way to end the session. Warm, soothing, and incredibly flavorful--it complemented the entire experience beautifully. It may seem like a small detail, but it's those thoughtful touches that make a place memorable!

I called the morning of and they were able to accommodate a same-day reservation so easily, which I really appreciated. I came back a few hours later for a 60-minute massage. Parking is pretty convenient -- there are a few spots in their lot, plus plenty of street parking nearby. My masseuse was Lisa, and she really worked through all the knots in my back. It was exactly what I needed. I left feeling so relaxed that I went home and immediately took a nap. The place itself is always very clean and well-run. After the massage, they give you hot tea and a little candy to enjoy, which is such a nice touch. I've been coming here for years and will definitely keep coming back -- and recommending it to friends!

Pioneer Spa in Norwalk was honestly such a disappointment and I really wish someone had written an…read morehonest review before I went. I've been to a lot of Korean spas across LA and Orange County like Century, Wi, and Crystal, so I know what to expect. A friend recommended this one and I thought it'd be fun to try something new, but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. The only reason I'm even giving it two stars is because of the owner, Mr. Kim. He greeted me at the front, was very polite, and took time to explain everything even though I already knew how these spas work. His friendliness stood out, but that was the only positive part of my visit. Parking was easy and free, which was nice, and I got a spot right in front. The spa is inside a small indoor plaza that feels more like an outdated mini mall than a wellness spot, and the entrance is confusing. Once inside, everything felt cramped and outdated. The cold plunge and jacuzzi were ridiculously small, maybe two and a half feet deep, and you could barely fit two people without bumping elbows. The jacuzzi wasn't hot enough, the cold plunge wasn't cold at all, and the overall atmosphere didn't feel clean or rejuvenating. The amenities were just way below what you'd expect from a Korean spa. The sauna said 173 degrees but I sat there for over twenty minutes and didn't sweat once. The steam room was the opposite, dangerously hot. The steam comes out directly from a vent near the bottom, and if you're sitting anywhere close to it, it literally burns your legs. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's unsafe. Even sitting higher up, I had to constantly scoot away because of how intense the bursts of steam were. That should absolutely be fixed because it's a serious safety hazard. On top of that, the jacuzzi and cold plunge both had warning signs taped on the railings that said things like "Be careful, this is not strong, do not shake." That alone made me feel uneasy. If the metal railings aren't sturdy enough to lean on, they shouldn't be in use. It's something so simple to fix, and I don't understand how they're operating without addressing it. The common area wasn't comfortable either. There were a few massage chairs that you had to pay extra for and no real seating to relax. The orange uniforms were funny and bright, but it made the place look more like a gym than a spa. There are themed rooms like an oxygen room, but they don't offer much. I was planning to eat at the restaurant since the website said it was open, but when I asked, the staff told me it had been closed for a while. Honestly, that was probably for the best because the space is so small that food smells would've been overwhelming. They do offer a few small items like shaving cream, a disposable razor, and a scrub, which is thoughtful, but it doesn't make up for the lack of quality. Between the outdated facilities, safety hazards, and disappointing amenities, this place just isn't worth it. For the same price, I'd rather go to Joy Spa or Century Spa in Koreatown where you actually get what you pay for. Those places have better amenities, cleaner spaces, and real attention to comfort and safety. Pioneer Spa feels neglected, cramped, and uncomfortable. I left more tense than when I arrived and definitely won't be going back.

The best 90 minutes of my life!…read more As a Yelp Elite, I've had my fair share of massages, and I can confidently say my 90-minute session at GMedical Spa with Mateo was hands-down the best massage I've ever had in my life. From the moment I arrived, Mateo made me feel completely comfortable and welcomed me with the welcome package I booked. I decided to add on myofascial work for my neck, shoulders, and quads, and WOW... best decision ever. He somehow knew exactly where all my problem areas were and went straight to work. No guessing, no wasted time...just pure relief. I will officially no longer be going to those Thai massages where they stomp all over me . Mateo's technique was incredibly effective, but I was also completely relaxed and comfortable the entire time. I left feeling so rested, loose, and relaxed that I honestly didn't want the 90 minutes to end. I'm already excited for my next session because I'll be adding cupping! If you're looking for someone who truly listens to your body and knows exactly how to work out the areas that need attention, book with Mateo. You will not regret it!
