We had the best Mother's Day Tea at Lovey's today. The service was impeccable and friendly, the food was delicious and the ambience was lovely. Gina was fantastic and thoughtful and went above and beyond to make our day special. Everyone there was just great and I highly recommend stopping by and enjoy this place. We will definitely be back! Thank you Lovey's for the wonderful Mother's Day memories!

I dropped in one Friday afternoon with my father-in-law and fell in love with this shop. Same owners as the beloved Lovejoy's Attic in SF, same great energy, and amazing tiny store that packs a punch. Staff were lovely, offered genuine advice including recommendations to check out non-affiliated alternate stores! If it wasn't so far from where we live, I'd be here all the time! Def recommend and will be coming back when I can!

LOVEY'S TRAY 2 Tea Sandwiches; 1 Warm Scone with Clotted Cream & Jam, a Petit Four or Truffle plus your choice of Tea

Lovey's Tea Shoppe is a cute little British tea house, literally a standalone house at the charming seaside town of Pacifica. It's on the side of Pacific Coast Highway 1. Don't drive too fast or you'll miss it. It's always a lovely drive for us. There's limited parking in front but plenty more in the back. We usually get the LOVEY'S TRAY, which includes 2 Tea Sandwiches; 1 Warm Scone with Clotted Cream & Jam, a Petit Four or Truffle plus your choice of Tea $26.50, but everything is sold À la carte as well. Honestly the tea sandwiches are a bit dry and bare, but the scones are FANTASTIC. With the Clotted Cream & Jam on mismatched China, it instantly reminds me of the classic tea room I visited in English. Lovey's Tea Shoppe also hosts many events so be sure to check out their website.

Group of friend and I made reservation for this unique tea and Felting class to make a mushroom. I have never done this felting before and it wasn't that hard. I was more focus on making it and almost forgot to eat the teatime sandwiches and drink tea. We shared with others at the table. So it important to eat your portion or others will eat your portion. This was a different unique experience. I don't mind doing another one. The tea service is a bit different from a the original tea service without the class in regards to type of sandwiches but other than that it was good to meet new people and chat or not chat is up to you. Atmosphere is nice and cute. As have been to this place a number of times. Friendly service.

Last cup of chai tea before we leave!

We celebrate all important occasions at Lovey's Tea Shoppe. The ambiance, the food, the service from the owner and her staff is exceptional. We had the Queen's Tea and honestly the endless pot of tea for each of the Queen's Tea was wonderful because we tried each other's tea and the teapots were refilled so we could drink to our heart's content . For dessert, I had the Red Velvet Truffle and the other two had their choice of petit fours, one lemon and one chocolate. It was a wonderful way to end an enjoyable tea and a birthday celebration!!

We visited Lovey's Tea Shoppe on a Saturday, as walk-ins. The space was small and cozy, with half being a seating area and half a gift shop selling china, packaged foods, jewelry, etc. I liked the floral wallpaper and gold-framed art and mirrors - really fitting for a British tea shop. We were seated right away, given menus, and told to come back up to order at the counter. Unfortunately, they didn't have tea stands available - those are only for the pre-booked afternoon teas. However, all the items on them were seemingly available, which was a bit confusing. My friend and I both ordered Tea Trays, which included 2 Tea Sandwich selections, 1 Warm Scone served with clotted cream and preserves, dessert, and a choice of tea. Most of the Tea Sandwiches that day included ham, so I chose Cucumber Tea Sandwiches, a Black Currant Scone, Macarons for dessert, and Black Vanilla Lavender Tea. The tea came out first, and was surprisingly served in paper to-go cups. When I asked if we could get some tea cups, our server pointed to a bin where we could choose our own. Despite the presentation, the Black Vanilla Lavender Tea was super tasty! The food items came out on plastic trays, which could've been cuter. The Cucumber Tea Sandwiches were very standard - white bread, pretty generous portion size. The best items were easily the scones! They were warm and not dry at all, and I loved the clotted cream. I believe mine came with raspberry or strawberry preserves, but my friend's came with lemon curd, which looked amazing. I wish we got to choose! The Macarons were also very standard and tasted store-bought. Overall, we had a good experience but I'm assuming the pre-booked afternoon teas are better than just coming in as walk-ins.

Such a fun way to celebrate your birthday with a High Tea. We had spent my last birthday in Ashland Oregon and went to Loveys Tea Shoppe up there and had a fantastic time so were so excited to find another one in Half Moon Bay Area. We each got our own pot of tea-you choose flavor from a wide variety. Assorted finger sandwiches, salad, scones and crumpets are the main meal. You finish with your choice of sweet and in addition I received a birthday macaron with a candle to blow out and a birthday song serenade. They have a darling patio and a really cute gift shop-you can also purchase your favorite tea! Such a fun, delicious way to celebrate!

A quaint little old fashioned British tea shop off the highway that's a definite stop if you're on a road-trip. Reservations are recommended but not required and walk ins are welcome if they' have space. We had their tea sandwich platter with a couple of other extras and deliciousness was in full effect! They have a nice selection of teas and some flavors I haven't seen before so now it's an excuse to come back. In addition to the full service tea they also cater to the kiddos with their Wee Tea service. They have outdoor seating as well and this is first come first serve. Overall it was a nice little experience and their service was good. And that's my take, Peace...

Tea here is served in large paper cup with a hideous teabag sticking out large enough to poke your eye.

I visited this tea shop with my daughter on Sunday as a walk-in. Typically, walk-in seating is outside, but they had a small table for two available inside, tucked in the corner, while they prepared the other tables. We were informed that we had an hour before a reserved party arrived, which we agreed to. Upon entering, we were directed to review the menu at the counter and place our order upfront. I ordered tea and added extra macarons for my daughter. After we sat down, I had to request basic items like napkins, cutlery and a stirrer spoon for tea, which should have been provided without asking. The food was a mixed experience--the sandwiches were just okay, but the scones were tasty. I also expected the service to come on a tiered tray, as it does at Lovejoy's, but that wasn't the case. The most disappointing part? The tea was served in a brown paper cup with a teabag sticking out high enough to poke your eye. When I inquired about this, I was told that walk-ins don't receive a teapot--only those with reservations do. Frankly, I was shocked. This is a tea shop specializing in tea service; presentation should be a priority regardless of seating arrangements (see pic). Throughout our visit, no one checked on us or offered to refill our tea with hot water. The lack of attentiveness and poor service made what was supposed to be a special mother-daughter tea experience memorable for all the wrong reasons.

    Afternoon tea for 2

A cute, quaint place to have afternoon tea in Pacifica right off the Coastal Highway 1. I've been to the SF location and used to frequent the Redwood City until they closed August 2021. Glad to have an opportunity to bring a friend to enjoy a relaxing treat: Tea sandwiches * Cucumber with Dill Cream Cheese * Roast Beef & Horseradish * Bay Shrimp & Mayonnaise * Green Apple w/ Cheddar & Marionberry Jam delicious scones, crumpet and finish off with a sweet treat of spiced petit four. So happy to know the owner, Gina who operated the Redwood City location own this cute spot! Always accommodating with my online orders, responsive, hospitable and very friendly. There was another person there helping today and she was so sweet and explained everything as items served. Thank you! :) Pricing reasonable and highly recommend a stop to enjoy simple and light, yet satisfying treats...items are available to go with tea packages and scones available online. Plan ahead and make it a trip to Pacifica for afternoon tea, peruse Downtown, walk the Municipal Pier, or go for a 1.5 tour of Mazza Castle about 10 mins away. You'll learn some local history and see some wonderful views. Make arrangements for tea and the tour online beforehand :)

Make your reservations early! I booked more than two weeks in advance for a party of three to celebrate my friend's birthday. Lovey's often hosts themed events, like their St. Patrick's Day Tea or Tarot Reading Tea Service, and those tend to sell out quickly, so definitely keep an eye on their website and reserve early. Lovey's is located right off a main road in Pacifica, so you'll need to pull over carefully to park, and it can feel a little tricky with traffic. The shop itself is quite small, with what looked like only five tables, but it's a cozy, charming space with so much care put into each reservation. The service was kind, thoughtful, and personal. After I made reservations, the hostesses followed up to ask about dietary restrictions and sent us the menu ahead of time. One of my friends is vegetarian, and the other is lactose intolerant, so they made custom substitutions for both. I really appreciated the attention to detail and preparation. Our Tea Service included the following: - Organic spring green salad with balsamic-dijon vinaigrette - Sandwich assortment: cucumber with dill-infused cream cheese, ham and apricot jam with market greens, chicken-apple-walnut-cranberry salad, and smoked salmon with cream cheese and capers. (They substituted all-vegetarian sandwiches for one friend, and dairy-free cream cheese for the other.) - Warm scone with clotted cream and jam - Toasted crumpet with butter and lemon curd - A selection from their sweet tray My personal favorites were the scone with clotted cream and the crumpet with little heart-shaped butters! Absolutely adorable, and melt-in-my-mouth DELICIOUS! They also offer an extensive tea menu with a wide variety of flavors, including decaf and herbal options. There's something for everyone, and you're sure to have a cozy, memorable experience. Since I had let them know we were celebrating a birthday, they surprised us with a macaron with a lit candle, and sang Happy Birthday which was such a delightful and special touch. The birthday girl was glowing! :) Thank you, Lovey's!

I've been coming since 2013 and still love it so much! I did coastal casual this last recent time, but you should definitely book a table and I promise you'll have a fun tea party! I love how cozy the space is, the food, the tea, and the staff; always phenomenal.

Desserts: almond, lemon, strawberry, and a bridge cookie!

If I could provide more than 5-stars I would! We love this place and made the trek from Visalia to Pacifica to enjoy this out of this world location near Rockaway Beach. The ambiance here is very quaint, like walking into your grandmothers house and you have no idea the kind of adventure you are about to experience. We have been coming here for years, yesterday we joined their flower pressing workshop, this was an absolute wonderful experience to work up an appetite. Flowers that have been dried and pressed into glass create a wonderful keepsake to take home. The staff here were excellent and made us feel right at home; their tea selection is outstanding, their Mint raspberry was decadent and light, and the right amount of chocolate flavor! Their sandwiches we could not wrong, all their finger food are made and served with tea. They also offer iced teas if hot tea is not your thing; we loved their Pacifica Blue tea! The service is wonderful, so much attention to detail, a huge shout out to the two ladies that made our family outing here 5-Stars Plus! They knew we might have been late due to traffic and amazingly we made it on time; they still made us feel special along with the groups that kept arriving after us. Truly, this place is must, they have the best scones anywhere and their British double cream, wow I'm getting hungry again, I'll have to let that one marinate with all of you! Enjoy! Thank you again ladies! Truly a wonderful experience, and we'll be back!

The Fish & Chips are the best I've had in the city! Not greasy at all and simply delightful. They also have a solid selection of beers on tap; I enjoyed a Deschutes IPA and a Guinness. I want to try their Shepherd's Pie next time, and my husband wants to get the bangers and mash. He was hoping they had a scotch egg, but that's the one item not on the menu. Oh, and some sticky toffee pudding would be awesome! The only downside was a large party of eight people with screaming children. We can't seem to escape that in restaurants lately--even in a pub. Ugh, it was terrible and sadly put a damper on an otherwise delightful experience. Chuck E. Cheese energy is not the vibe. Despite that, we will be back.

I'm currently living in San Francisco for six weeks while caring for my father, who is recovering from a double lung transplant at UCSF. It's been an emotionally exhausting time, and I was excited to find a neighborhood bar within walking distance where I could occasionally relax and decompress. I first discovered this bar after a trip to Trader Joe's. During that visit, the bartenders, especially Chris, and the rest of the staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive, and wonderful. Based on that experience, I was looking forward to returning. Unfortunately, my interactions with the owner have been the complete opposite. On my second visit, the owner repeatedly ignored me while I was trying to order. When he noticed my service dog, who was leashed, quietly sitting beside me, and causing absolutely no disruption, he loudly yelled across a crowded bar, "Get your dog out of here." I calmly explained that he is a service dog. The owner immediately rolled his eyes and demanded to know what service my dog provides. Because I did not feel comfortable disclosing personal medical information to a room full of strangers, I asked if I could privately show documentation instead. He became increasingly hostile, telling me that he "knew his rights" and that I "didn't know anything," while continuing to demand an explanation. Feeling embarrassed and cornered, I reluctantly answered his question. He rolled his eyes again and asked, "What do you want?" When I ordered a Corona, he responded by pointing his finger in my face and saying, "You mean you want a Corona PLEASE." He refused to serve me unless I repeated the order exactly as he demanded. I was shocked, humiliated, and left the bar in tears. Several patrons nearby apologized to me and expressed how uncomfortable they were witnessing the interaction. A few days later, I decided to give the bar a second chance and brought my partner with me. My partner was seated with my service dog while I walked to the bar to order. The owner immediately recognized me and once again said, "Get your dog out." I calmly reminded him that we had already had this conversation and that I had previously explained my dog's service role. He responded by asking whether I was providing a service to the dog or whether the dog was providing a service to me. After I again explained the situation, he asked what I wanted to order. I ordered two dirty gin martinis, and before I could even finish speaking, he began walking away. When he returned with the check, I asked him to keep the tab open. He again corrected me and said I needed to say, "Keep it open PLEASE." At that point, I asked why he seemed to treat me this way every time I came in. His response was, "Piss off. Finish your martini and you're never allowed back here again. Get out." Once again, I left in tears. Once again, nearby patrons appeared shocked by the way I was being treated. I've worked in professional environments my entire career and strive to treat everyone with kindness, patience, and respect. I was never rude, disruptive, or confrontational. I simply wanted to enjoy a drink at a neighborhood bar while accompanied by my service dog. The bartenders and staff were wonderful. My experience with the owner, however, was one of the most humiliating and hostile customer service experiences I have ever had.

My family is Welsh - and much of my family currently lives in Wales and England. Having grown up visiting the UK every summer - I grew up with clotted cream and scones, Horlicks, sausage rolls, Walkers crisps, Hot Cross Buns, Galaxy Chocolate, chutney, fruitcake, Ribena, Jaffa Cakes, tea and biscuits, and much more. This store has all of that and much more! The staff member working when I popped in - was exceptionally kind and was there to answer any questions I had in regards to their beautifully curated selection of products from Scotland, Wales, England etc. Truthfully I wanted to buy everything and I wish that my mom and sister could have been with me to explore this magical shop. I know that they would have appreciated the well curated store and the good vibes throughout it. I ended up buying a fantastic Pendleton picnic blanket (perfect for GG Park ) and a bag of Jelly Babies sweets. Later - after checking out their facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/willowonthegreen/ - I was thrilled to see that they regularly post about new product additions to the store and they often host unique cheese tastings throughout the week. The Cavailier was our side-trip to the UK after a day at the SFMOMA. It went better than we…read moreexpected, this was elevated and subtle. The location is central and the decor richly celebrates British rustic public houses, with the bar seating feeling more cosmopolitan. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic about their food. They were a joy. We started off with the Deviled Eggs, deeply flavorful and a great way to dive in. The Duck Scotch Egg was beautiful done, complete with firm white and runny yolk. Ducky. The surprise star of the evening, the Mushroom Tart is earthy, so full of mushroom umami sitting atop flaky pastry. Perfectly executed!! The Fish and Chips were very good, the fish fish and the flavor deep. Very good. The Panna Cotta and Delice desserts made it clear that sweets aren't an afterthought. People *thought* about how to do these right. Much joy, no regrets. A good time, great ambiançe and staff, will do again!

TLDR: After too long a hiatus, I finally had a chance to…read morereturn and try a variety of items that were all new to me. The food was even better than last time. The Cavalier is a hidden gem in SF and more people need to know about it! ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] BRICK CHICKEN (5/5) Some of the most tender chicken ever 2. [MUST TRY] RISOTTO (5/5) I don't usually gravitate toward risotto but this was excellent and rich, with the perfect risotto texture 3. SALMON (5/5) Buttery, melt-in-your-mouth with great flavor 4. BEEF TARTAR CROSTINIS (5/5) Far exceeded expectations - super crispy crostinis with flavorful tartar 5. SMOKED DEVILED EGGS (5/5) Their deviled eggs are always excellent 6. TRUFFLE PARM FRIES (4.5/5) Had a great crisp and wonderful flavor. Not as crispy as the twice-battered fries I had at Cavalier last time but excellent in a different way 7. CHEESY BAKED POTATO (4/5) Very cheesy 8. PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE (4/5) So rich, so delicious 9. CHOCOLATE DELICE (4/5) Like a slightly lighter, scoop-able chocolate fudge ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * No change from last time. The Cavelier really leans into the theme of elevated English dining, and they do an especially great job making the establishment festive and cozy for the holidays * There are multiple different areas of the restaurant, from the bar area to the main dining room to two side rooms. ------ SERVICE: * Everyone is as lovely and as sweet as I remembered

It would be 5 stars if not for the crummiest cheesecake I've ever been served. It took me 40 years…read morebut I finally had my Ratatouille moment and it was right here. This meal was consumed at home on St. Patrick's Day. Delivery always robs you of a restaurant's true experience but despite ~50% of my genes being Irish, I have absolutely no tolerance for drunk people. My husband ordered the corned beef & hash because he's obsessed with the "tradition" aspect of food. I swear to god it's the only reason we tried this place. He could be on the road in the middle of the Mojave with a trunk full of perfectly ready-to-eat food, and he'll starve his ass to death if it happens to be St. Patrick's Day unless somehow a corned beef & hash food truck materializes in the desert. It's positively infantile. My Ratatouille moment was with the beef stew. The last time I had a proper beef stew was probably more than 25 years ago. My mom made my grandma's recipe when I was a kid. My husband, bless his heart, has erroneously claimed for 20 years, with minimal pushback from me because I'm polite, that there is no good stew. "It's a terrible dish with dried out meat bathing in oversalted broth!" He changed his mind when had the stew from Napper Tandy. Now the cheesecake? The cheesecake was an absolute joke and it wasn't even particularly great. It was very average but when you factor in the value, it becomes terrible. Maybe I got the last slice from an oversliced cheesecake but $6 for a sliver, and I do mean sliver--at the crust's edge my cheesecake was no wider than 2". You guys can buy a whole cheesecake from Atlanta Cheesecake Co. that's 32 Oz. for $12. You charge $6 per slice. Stay with me here. You can give customers a nice fat ol' piece of cheesecake from the delectible Atlanta Cheesecake Co. that actually makes it seem like they're getting their money's worth, it will taste amazing, and you can still charge $6 per slice. That's a 300% profit!
