It was my first time at Lovey's and I loved it so much. The staff were so nice and the place is so quaint. Six of us made a reservation and the inside was just big enough to fit us all. We had the full afternoon tea service with the finger sandwiches, our own pots of tea (bottom less!), crumpets, scones and petit fours. Lovely experience enjoying high tea here. The high tea package comes with your choice of 2 sandwiches, a shortbread biscuit, a hot scone with devon cream and preserves, salad, and coleslaw. Everything was so delicious and our group of 3 really enjoyed trying the different flavor combinations of the sandwiches. Each sandwich has 4 small pieces, which will fill you up quite a bit even though the portions don't look that big. You can choose to add on items from their a la carte menu too, so we decided to get an order of the sausage rolls as well as a petit fours to share. On to the tea, which is a main staple to the experience here - I got the decaf black tea with vanilla and lavender and it was so good, especially with a splash of milk. As the description states, it really is a very relaxing and smooth blend of flavors that went very well with all the food we got. You can also choose to mix and match different flavors if you would like, and the staff will do a good job with making recommendations for the flavors they think will pair well together. The place is not that big, so definitely make an appointment rather than just dropping by. This summer, Lovey's was the caterer for our daughter's bridal shower in our backyard. Gillian was so helpful in collaboratively planning what to serve, how much we would need, and providing the beautiful china tea pots and tiered serving trays for each table. Her pricing was very reasonable. The multi-generational group all loved their "afternoon tea party." I am so glad they deliver and I loved that I was able to have a real tea party with my 3 year old daughter by ordering the 2-tiered platter sandwiches with tea for two. My daughter dressed up in her yellow Belle dress and had fun putting out her tea set. She went straight for the chocolate but really enjoyed the strawberry sandwiches and spreading the jam on the crumpets. They have such a variety of teas that are non-caffeinated so we got the Forrest berries one because we could all use more Vitamin C. When the delivery came, it was missing the tea but I just gave them a call and they quickly came back and offered a whole bag for the inconvenience. What great service! According to my mom, this would be like Season 4 and beyond of Downtown Abbey. Just not quite there. Especially when compared to Lovejoy's in SF. My thoughts are these. I've been here twice for high tea. Once with my friend, and once with mom, and both times it was just okay, hence 3 stars for average. The first time I went they sat us down, then took away our table and moved us because they had a regular come in with a reservation who they hugged, smiled, and chatted with as they shoved to a smaller table. Both times we went the service was slow, even for tea, and it was hard to get a refill. The second time with mum, we waited and waited for menus. As my mother grew impatient. The sandwiches are simply not as tasty as Lovejoy's, especially their egg sandwich. And they are really stingy on giving me more honey. Had to ask and ask. Not a fan of their scones either, a bit hard for my tastes. So, as my mother would say, since this is the only tea place around in Pacifica and nearby, it's crowded but if they had another tea shop they may not fair so well. read more

Unlike some of the other businesses that have occupied this location I think this quaint little building with a location right off Highway 1 has finally found it's niche business that understands what can be done here, and can prosper year round. Lovey's people know they cannot make everything on site. Cold items are prepped on site. The items that are brought in are of great quality and are delivered daily. Everything works and is tasty. Yes, they do have take out if you want to get your afternoon tea to go and enjoy it on the beach. But don't expect to take the tea set with you, (Well Maybe. I have yet to ask about this point) Hours of operation so far: Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Monday and Tuesday from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. I found parking easy. A gem in Pacifica. In all my years driving on the PCH, I never once thought to stop by Lovey's. After a trip to the UK this year with my sister, we wanted to relive our English vacation, and looked up tea shops in the Bay Area. We found Lovey's on Yelp, first went for tea last week, and now have our third reservation lined up! The outside of the shop is unassuming. When inside, you'll find a quirky, British-inspired ambiance. Everything about the place is cozy yet unique, making it the perfect place to unwind and take in the experience. It's away from the city, nearly beachside, and the service is consistent and thorough each time. Parking is a bit tight, but there is a lot near the beach that would be a short walk away (plus, you get to see the water). The menu can be daunting at first from deciding what kind of tea service to get, but the staff always gives great recommendations and explains the options clearly. Once you get your food and tea, they also share what you have before you, from the sandwiches, jams, salads, and more. You can easily spend two hours here, chatting and sipping tea. My favorite sandwiches are tomato and cheese, cream cheese and cucumber, and bay shrimp and mayo. I've yet to try the hot food selections, but hope to during my next visit. We came here after an afternoon of surfing. Usually you need reservations for high tea, but Lovey's took us in, gave us the best table, and let us share one set of tea for two (with a $2 splitting fee). Service was way beyond what I was expecting (because I had a bad experience at this one tea place in the city in SOMA - not going to mention the name here. The waitress at that shop did not explain the menu correctly, could not answer our questions, was not attentive, and charged us splitting fee that shouldn't have been there. It was not great). Our waitress at Lovey's was patient and fast. She made sure that our tea pot was full, she proactively checked up on us (we didn't have to ask her for hot water). Little things like that made my experience. The place is intimate and decorated very homely. Felt like a grandma/aunties place :) Loved it! Oh and, my boyfriend loved it. These scones are so good!! I am spoiled because I first started having afternoon tea when I studied abroad in England, and I tend to be disappointed by scones here, but Lovey's scones were so yummy!! I loved their flavors - one was currant and the other was lemon and ginger. These are soft scones and the cream and raspberry jam were both great with them. What a nice and unique place for a coastal drive pit stop. Service is great and the beach is two blocks away. The tea set is perfect for a relaxing moment of enjoyable flavors. Although Lovey's was not open for tea or food service today when we stopped by, we already know that we love Lovey's! We took a drive to Pacifica while our son underwent a procedure at Stanford. The ladies at Lovey's were lovely and sorry that they could not serve us hot tea or food. We purchased some loose tea and will definitely go back when they are open for full service. The ladies that work here are amazing. If I could come every weekend I would. A must try is the Shepard's pie. Get extra homemade scones because one will not be enough. Pre-pandemic I had visited Lovey's many times for afternoon tea, but this was my first time coming by after the pandemic. It was as warm and wonderful as ever! I had a question that I asked in my order and it was thoughtfully and promptly answered! Pro-tip: if you ask, they will warm your scone for you and even steep your tea if you'll be dining on their patio, but make sure to note that in your order! If you bring your own pot or thermos, they will fill it with hot water instead of the to-go cup so you can keep it warmer longer. I got my tea-for-one order to-go, and it was beautifully packaged. So many thoughtful touches, from the slightly damp paper towel to keep the sandwiches fresh, to the packets of sugar for my tea, to the little decorations to spruce up the jam and clotted cream plastic cups. The to-go cups they give you the hot water for your tea in are compostable (even the lids!), which I appreciate. Even the to-go trays are sturdy and high quality plastic trays, I am totally keeping mine and reusing it! If you like tomatoes and don't mind a bit of spice, the tomato chutney sandwich with cheddar that they are offering right now is delicious! I also ordered their salad and it was SO GOOD. Fluffy, unbruised tender spring greens covered in delicious fruits (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and mandarin oranges this time) plus crunchy walnuts and yummy sweet-tart raspberry dressing. I picked the chicken salad topping and it went beautifully with the sweet fruits. I was there with three other friends and we all loved our teas. Paid $35 for 2 teas served in disposable cups with scones and sandwiches in rinky dink tray, what's going on? Hubby and I were in the area being spontaneous, decided to check out this tea shop. Since hubby never had high tea in his life (as I'm always with my ladies) it'd be nice to treat him since we're there, so I asked if we could be seated. Indeed we were. When our teas came, I was like what the heck?! Look, I used to go high tea at Ritz with harpist, Fairmont with pianist, frequent Rotunda at Saks, and here we were high tea Sunday afternoon in disposable cups and a sketchy tray, paying the same price as with people with reservations? They can't possibly ran out of English dishes cause they're displayed everywhere in that shop. I so regret tipping them 30% & wish I can ask it back. I had to return my tea infuser that I bought cause I don't want to be reminded of our stressful, unpleasant tea experience of all time. I will never, ever coming back here. I messed up. I ordered online a tea service to go for pickup at 1:00 as I would be in Pacifica at a nearby vet at that time. After dropping the pooch I walked over arriving promptly at 1:00 and asked for my order. Oops, it wasn't ready. But it's right here on my receipt from, gasp, another tea shop with a very similar name but located in San Francisco!!! They were soooo nice! I decided to take my niece here for her first tea time experience as her 8th birthday treat. I made sure to call ahead during the week to schedule in a reservation as I know this place is popular for hosting events and during the weekends in general. We had a little wait while we arrived which was not a problem at all. There were many nic nacs including different tea sets, shirts, little hats and other tea necessities that were displayed on the shelves that are available for purchase. I ended up getting a cute tea cup saucer with lovely rose petal designs that I plan to use as an accessory holder. Once we were settled into our table, I decided on the high tea ($20.99) which came with two sandwich options, coleslaw, a spring greens salad, a scone with preserves and devon cream, and a shortbread tea biscuit. I chose the white peach green tea for my tea which turned out to be really good. My niece enjoyed the Wee Tea ($16.95), which is for children under 10. It came with cream cheese and jelly sandwiches, a scone, fresh fruit, a Petit four for dessert and a choice of either tea or hot cocoa...she went for the hot cocoa and loved it! SMALL inside and not much to do but stand around outside. Parking is very limited to about 10 (maybe) or less spots. Since it's right on the highway and no spots left, we made the first right and then another right and parked at the bottom and walked up the dirt path - not recommended but did what we had to do. There weren't too many tables, maybe two large ones and maybe 4/5 small ones. The restroom was outside and down the stairs. It's a single stall but I never got a chance to use it because there was a line. The food was okay but the company was great! Nice teas too & definitely bottomless. Pacifica GEM! It's perfect and petite. They had only opened for an hour but it was almost completely full when my friend and I arrived at noon. Luckily, we were able to get a table within 5 minutes of arriving. I took about 20 minutes mulling over all the services and options so the waitress was plenty patient with me. I ordered the "Me" Tea service with my friend with Seasonal Fruit and Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese tea sandwiches, which also comes with a Bottomless Pot o' Tea and I got Apricot Black Tea. The waitress suggested honey with the tea and she was right. It's already sweet to begin with but the honey adds a little extra something nice. The fruit was fresh and the sandwiches were delicious. I've actually been here a few years back and remembered the Lemon Curd was one of my favorites so I also ordered the Crumpets, which includes 2 soft toasted crumpets and the curd that they get specially-made. The lady said you can also buy a jar of it from them. If I didn't already pay, I would've bought a jar myself too so I can just dip bread in it or something at home. The crumpets were also amazing - warm and soft. Aside from that, we also ordered another pot of tea - Chocolate Truffle. If I wasn't lactose-intolerant, I would've added some milk in it. But it went deliciously well with the Petit Fours that we got. We hadn't planned on ordering Petit Fours but when the lady was passing around a tray of the little cakes, I couldn't resist. My friend and I picked 4 and they come in all different shapes and flavors. All of them were delicious but I personally loved the Sponge Cake with a ribbon of dark chocolate and orange. Been wanting to come here for a long time because I love the whole tea experience, and saw Loveys right off Highway 1. Finally came in with my friend and we had a great time. The ladies that work there are so friendly and down to earth. The outdoor seating was old school and intimate. We loved their unique tea selection; we got the chocolate truffle and it was amazing! We split a tea tray and ordered a side of crumpets, which were perfect and paired well with the lemon spread they served. The scone was my favorite! There is a shiny British crown jewel hidden away in Pacifica! The fiancé and I hit up this place on Super Bowl Sunday, and had delightful afternoon tea service. The ambiance is kitschy and crowded and mismatched and very, very British. Waitresses were very sweet and welcoming- they crafted a menu item for us based on what we wanted, and we're always close by for a refill on our "endless pot o' tea." We got lucky without a reservation, but would definitely recommend one, especially if you are coming in from outside Pacifica. They allow patrons 2 hours at their tables, of which there are only a handful. The black vanilla lavender tea was so tasty, we bought some loose leaf to take home. Sandwiches are typical English style, but the real star of the show for us were the CRUMPETS. Just typing it makes me giggle! They are ridiculously delicious with lemon curd. The presentation was the best part, with fresh fruit, cucumbers, creams and preserves... Beautiful!
