After 16 years, it was time for us to say goodbye to our beloved Biscuit. He had a malignant tumor and, after trying every available therapy, it was clear that his condition was terminal. We called Lap of Love and they were responsive, kind, understanding and thoughtful. They made the process of saying goodbye about saying goodbye and about doing what was best for our canine friend. Communication was excellent and the hospice veterinarian who came to our home was loving and empathetic. Most importantly, she reinforced that we were doing the right thing at the right time, in Biscuit's best interests. Lap of Love made it possible for us to focus on our dog's happiness and comfort during the final weeks of his life, and for us to focus on our own grief now that he has left us.

It's hard to do, but I have to say, lap of love made this as easy as they could. Our baby spent so much of her last 6 months in emergency rooms, vet officers, and hospitals. Even as her health tanked, we could not imagine letting her go in anyplace but her home. We made an appointment if the afternoon thinking that would be her final moments, but when her health tanked so quickly, lap of love was able to move her appointment to the earliest possible time. Dr Stephanie was a pro. She was as stoic but caring and understanding. She never rushed us and gave us as much time as we needed. She gave us a detailed description of what to expect. And in the end, she allowed our baby to pass peacefully and comfortably and never made us feel rushed and never pushed us to say our final goodbyes. Letting your baby go is an impossible decision, but Lap of Love makes it as easy and peaceful as possible. I can't say enough good things, but in the middle of the hurt and pain, it's hard to say anything else. They took our baby from us, but they did it as peacefully and lovingly as possible.

Our baby girl who was 12, suffered a terrible aspiration pneumonia and subsequent Megaesophagus a little over a week ago. After 6 nights in the ICU at UF Vet school and us trying everything from oxygen to NG tube with tube feeds to IV fluids & IV antibiotics, our baby couldn't overcome the odds. I contacted Lap of Love this past Wednesday when we decided to withdraw care and take her home for the best few days we could offer her. Every hour we had her home was spent loving her. I had made an appointment for this morning so my husband, myself, & her nanny could be here holding her together. Dr. Anika came to our home & was so kind and gave us time & answering our questions.I set up everything for billing on the first call to them so this morning thankfully was just a signature. We opted for private cremation and they handled the rest. We were allowed to have our sweet girl outside on our back porch with the fan on her just as she loved most. After some pain meds with muscle relaxer & sedative, she made us a beautiful paw cast that she left us. Our baby girl felt no pain and was so peaceful. The heartbreak of losing a fur baby is so incredibly hard but knowing this company exists to do it peacefully in our home, surrounded by our pack, gave us peace. Over the years, we've seen quite a bit of staff turnover, but one thing has remained consistent: everyone has been incredibly warm, gentle, and loving with my fur baby. As a pet parent, there's nothing more reassuring than knowing your dog is being cared for by people who truly love animals. My only real disappointment is that they no longer offer grooming services. Being able to drop Brooklyn off for a little doggy spa day while taking care of her veterinary needs was such a convenience, and we definitely miss that! The other challenge is the cost. Veterinary care isn't cheap, and visits can certainly add up. That said, I've always felt that the staff genuinely wants what's best for Brooklyn and has provided her with compassionate care throughout the years.
