My co worker and I ordered food to go, when he returned with food I saw they gave me wrong order which was "golden rice" I was kinda ok because dish taste good, but entire box of rice was cold and hard rice, called back the restaurant and owner lady stated to return to the restaurant and she would exchange it, when I got to restaurant she completely did not want to exchange and started making big deal about it. For $9 I was not willing to make huge deal in public. Per principle she needed to honor what she said and as a owner she did not comply. I let the owner keep her food and my money, word of advice keep your receipt and check your food before leaving the restaurant. I will never return to that restaurant or recommend anyone. read more

This was the best vegan burger I ever had! I ordered carry out, so my fries were cold by the time I got to them, but that's my fault.

I like this place. I've been twice. The first time I went- the place was very busy and I got the "Loving Hut Roll". This roll was just alright- something a little off about the texture. On this trip, the place wasn't so busy. The next time I got the BBQ and Spring Rolls which I thought was fantastic. It didn't taste much like BBQ, but was a tasty combination of lemon, peanuts, and soy sauce. I recommend it. My girlfriend had the Guru Curry which was also pretty solid. Both times the waitstaff was super friendly. There are not many restaurants with vegan options in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, so when I am in that part of town- they are going to get my business. read more

I love the food at this place. My hubby and I went there for the first time last weekend. Not sure how I didn't see this place and I used to work around the corner. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because of the time it took to place an order after we sat down at the table. My hubby was motioning for us to get up and leave but I asked him to stay. Shucks I was starving and I'm a vegetarian and there's not too much choices of good vegetarian/vegan places around this joint for me to eat at. We ordered the crispy dumplings. I didn't care for them. They were too hard for me. He liked them though. I ordered the holy eggplant with brown rice and he ordered the golden rice. The food was nice and hot. We both enjoyed them and even ordered the mango and pineapple smoothies and the strawberry cake. He thought something was wrong with the cake from the taste but I had to remind him that he was in a vegan restaurant. lol That shifted his thought and he ate it anyway. read more

Loving Hut is a vegan restaurant chain with several locations around Atlanta. I think Loving Hut has a few very good things on there menu. My favorite things here are the chow mien, spring rolls, and the golden rice. The service at this location is excellent. I recommend a visit if you're in the area! read more

I went here with my friend and my son, I L-O-V-E-D IT!!!! IT IS TRULY VEGAN!!!! NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS AND NO DAIRY!!! What was so cool was that the food was a diverse plethera of asian and indian, both are my favorite!! there is alot of gluten and soy, but at least there is NO MEAT and I am so allergic to dairy that I don't have to worry, cuz it's vegan!!! very kind and polite service. Also, even cooler than the vegan part was that they had a cooking class in the middle of the restaurant of the food on the menu!!!! wow!!!! they are dedicated to making the world healthy and the money that the restaurant makes goes toward charities!!!! I found Loving Hut using Yelp during a search for a vegetarian restaurant near Cumming, GA. This restaurant has a lot of menu items that have a meat substitute as the focus. I didn't find it exciting to eat something that smelled, looked, tasted and had the mouth feel of meat. But if you like that they will have a lot of meat like choices for you. Try the coconut cake. Ate here again today for lunch. I didn't call or go there to pick up my order, someone else did. So I don't know if the customer service was any better. I ordered the Holy Eggplant without rice. The description: "Seasoned eggplant with shitake mushroom, onion, cilantro" The picture looked like a simple baked/grilled eggplant. I take the box out....sauce starts dripping all over my desk. I put a paper towel under it and open the lid....about 2 cups of this brown, extremely oily sauce is sloshing around. Not what I expected. Nowhere on the description or in the picture does it say that there is any sauce at all. If I had known that, I would have asked for it to be ommitted. I decide to try it anyway. I put a piece in my mouth and it slips down my throat like some slimy creature....not appetizing. So I put the box to the side so I can continue to work. There, on my desk, is a spider. I have never seen any spiders or anything at my job, let alone on my desk. I have no idea where it came from. I sure as hell hope it wasn't my meal. Ordered a vegan chocolate cake for my 3-year old who is allergic to dairy. I, and the dozen others who ate it, were floored with how good it was! Didn't think it could be made so rich and lusty without dairy, but they managed to do it. At $37 for a 12 inch cake, it is a bit pricey, but certainly very good! read more

It can be hard to find good places to eat out as a vegetarian on the north side, so I was very happy when The Loving Hut opened its doors in Norcross. I've eaten there five or six times (I am not a particularly avid restaurant-goer and do most of my own cooking), and I'll share my experiences. First, the service, as others have mentioned, can be lacking. The servers are friendly, but tend to disappear for long periods at a time, and aren't particularly helpful at explaining menu items or seating guests promptly. My impression is that they are relatively inexperienced at food service, and also possibly being asked to do jobs in the kitchen which they shouldn't be doing. Since I tend to visit during off-peak hours, it's never been a huge problem, but I imagine things get pretty chaotic during the lunch and dinner rush. Second, the atmosphere is... weird. I'm a committed ethical vegetarian, a near-vegan who consumes very few animal products of any kind, but as I am not a devotee of the "Supreme Master" organization that runs the Loving Hut chain, I find the giant TV screens showing vegan propaganda to be somewhat off-putting. They do keep the sound turned down, at least. And I want to clarify that they are not a "cult" -- I looked into this Supreme Master person; she seems nice enough, not at all the Jim Jones type, and her organization is primarily devoted to entrepreneurship and philanthropy. I have no problem giving them my money, but I don't appreciate even mild proselytization while I'm trying to eat. Finally, the food. In a word, it's excellent. I cook, but some things are hard to prepare at home, and this restaurant excels at them. My biggest recommendations would be the vegetable Pho, the Seven Seas Delight (a rice and sesame dish with strips of seaweed - delicious), and their appetizer rolls, which are delicate, crisp, and flavorful. Stay away from the Vegan Burger -- I can make one just as good, if not better, with store-bought frozen patties -- but that's been the only disappointment on the menu. Their coconut-milk-infused Thai iced tea, a beverage I'd sorely missed since giving up dairy, is wonderful and not too sweet. Essentially, I'm giving them three stars solely for their food and their pleasant outdoor patio. Other aspects of the dining experience at The Loving Hut are lacking, and I hope they improve in the future (although I don't see them getting rid of the TVs anytime soon). read more

I stopped here for lunch a few months ago and the place is strange. The people working there seem to have their heads in the clouds and the service is slow and inattentive. Luckily I was by myself and was killing time so I didn't mind waiting, but no one greeted or assisted me as I walked in the door and I had to ask where to sit then I had to wait about 5 or so minutes before a server came by to help me. I ordered tea and a tofu vegetable dish. It took another five minutes or so for the tea to arrive and then the food arrived shortly after. No one came by to see if I needed anything and then a check just appeared. The food was good. It had decent flavor and I might stop by here again. Some days are better then others at food service places so I wouldn't judge it fully based on my one experience, but if your looking for corporate type dinning this is not it. read more

This is my first review on Yelp and i have to say I'm excited to talk about it. I have been to this location twice so far and have to give this place 6 stars!! They are doing an amazing job at putting out a very vast selection on there menu with all your familiar menu items you are use to seeing. trying a vegan diet is complex enough as a middle aged person growing up on dairy and meat so i have to give credit where credit is due! There food is delicious and i have tried 7 menu items so far and they have exceeded expectations! Will continue coming here and will absolutely talk about it with other people read more

This place was not as good as the reviews make it out to be. The servers brought food out one at a time when we ordered together. They dropped the food off and came back 15-20mins later. I waited 15mins to speak to someone about my poor experience and they kept offering me to switch the food when I told them I did not want it. And to top it off the food was not good and the silverware was dirty. Will be going to Sunflower Cafe for my vegan meals because I know the food as well as service is good. read more

One of my favorite restaurants. 100% vegan. Don't let that fool you. Everything from steak, to burgers, to fried rice, lots of asian food, etc... Quantities could be higher. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO GLUTEN! I ordered the gluten free Rainbow Salad and had a strong reaction shortly after I finished. I called the restaurant to let them know. The lady was very nice, spoke with the chef, then called me back to let me know that it was in fact gluten free - they used "black bean soy sauce" - "it's ingredients are black beans and soy sauce, so it can't have gluten because it has no WHEAT". As anyone with a gluten allergy knows well, soy sauce is made using wheat. Tamari is the gluten free option. If you are NOT allergic to gluten, go, the food tastes great. read more

yea...I'm loving it. It's no wonder why this restaurant is nominated for the 2011 Veggie Awards by VegNews Magazine. This place is absolutely delightful. The atmosphere is quite and serene, and the food is marvelous. As a vegetarian you may know that most vegetarian and vegan restaurants are typically not too modest when it comes to pricing its food items, making one believe that it is sooo expensive to prepare these meals while maintaining a healthy living standard, but Loving Hut is here to dispel those myths: how? b By having a fair price attached to all of the menu choices. You wouldn't spend any more money here than you would at any other restaurant that you sit down and dine in. That is a very respectable trait for me. Plus the fact that there portions are more than generous and definitely filling. They add that degree of vegan empathy that other places don't have by giving you a full meal that will not have you spending money on another meal an hour later like some other places do. so basically you have great food + god sized portions + the right price= 5 star restaurant. Since this new restaurant was mentioned in Yelp talk last week (http://www.yelp.com/topic/atlanta-new-restaurants-closings), I'm proud to be the "First to Review"! Went here for lunch with my buddy from work, he had been once already. My dishes were delicious--appetizer of Basil Rolls and main dish of eggplant with brown rice. Everything was tasty and fresh, the restaurant was clean, the staff were friendly. The only warning is that the proseletyzing is a bit over the top--streaming video from the Supreme Master network (http://www.suprememastertv.net/), advocating veganism and opposing vices. My buddy is skeptical that this concept is going to catch on in this area, so check them out soon! read more

My friend and I had a 3:00 dinner here. We chose to sit on the patio. There were only a total of about 6 people eating indoors and 4 on the patio. Our server handed us menus and told us to seat ourselves. We didn't wait very long for our drinks or for our waitress to take out order. However, she brought my friend's chow mein out about 5 minutes before she brought my vegan burger. I believe that all entrees should be served at the same time. My friend's chow mein was fantastic. I would never have ordered a bogus dish like chow mein, but it was nothing like traditional American chow mein. It was made with rice noodles, cabbage, mushrooms, carrots, a fantastic sauce and soy meat. My burger was very good. The bun was a plain white flour bun. I would have preferred a whole wheat bun. The fries were okay in an Ore Ida kind of way. The burger patty itself was very different and delicious. I loved the lemongrass drink. I will return. Next to Harmony, this is my new favorite vegan restaurant. read more

Had the buffet which is a regular event here every 3rd Saturday I guess of the month. OVERPRICED for poor quality of food. The recipes are average and taste is compromised. For this much money, they have cut fruit, some dried browny bites and the almond strawberry cake (which was out all the time that I was there) for desert. Most of the other posters hit the nail on the head: great food, terrible service. I am a big time meat eater and was hesitant about coming here, but the food ended up impressing me. The service, however, is as bad as what everyone else has written, as there were only 2 servers on the floor when I was there. We had 10 people at our table, and our server memorized our orders instead of writing them down. He also disappeared for long periods without checking on us to see if we needed refills. Moreover, we all sat there with our dirty plates for at least 10-15 minutes after we all finished. Then it took another 10-15 minutes to bring us our pieces of cake that we ordered for dessert. To be fair, the other server who was on the floor looked like he was trying, but our server was just apathetic. There was also only one person working the register and phone up front, so I am not sure that I can recommend this place for take out any more than dine in. I honestly don't know how Loving Hut has gotten away with their low level or service for so long without taking a beating in tips, but until they do something about it I recommend steering clear. read more

We will never go to Loving Hut again! My friends went a few days before I did and liked it but said the server was really rude. That didn't stop them from going back a few days later, and I tagged along with them this time. We went in had the same rude server who spoke two words to us. It then took a long time for the food to come out and when it did one of my friends food was cold. Nothing prepared us for later that night, when we all got food poisoning and had to miss work because of it. We will never go back here again. Not even worth the one star. read more

So I would actually go more for stars but it goes from ok to yay I love it in one step and my experience didn't deserve that well of a rating. First and foremost, the service was not there. They were either understaffed or something because my mom and me sat at our outside table for a good ten minutes till I walked up to the front to ask if we could move inside. Before I could get a word out, the guy upfront asked me if I was ready to order which threw me off from what I was going to ask and I was already in a foul mood from waiting outside for so long without a server approaching. Once we got inside, at a table we moved to with no help from a waiter or server at a restaurant we had never been to, the feel was like a cafeteria, which wouldn't be so bad except for everything else on top of what continued on. When it finally came time to order(got there at 7:30 and didn't order till almost 8) my mom ordered mung dahl. And I ordered wonton soup(cup) and BBQ spring Noodles. We ordered the dumplings as an appetizer. I tried to get my wonton soup to come out with the appetizer, but the waiter seemed confused by my request and seemed to think I wanted another order of dumplings with my wonton soup. I just said never mind because I didn't want to mess up our order. Now to where our order arrives: The dumplings are an appetizer and are by understood customs supposed to come out first, but my moms main dish came out with the appetizer so my mom basically finished her food before my main dish made an appearance. As mentioned, she ordered the Mung Dahl and it was really good, but there was no where near enough bread to eat the entire pile of humus like food on the plate even with piling it on the bread pieces and it cost extra to get more. The dumplings were wonderful, the sauce was good, a little on the thin side, but the taste was there. My wonton soup will be something I at the minimum order out for. It was wonderful and the only place I know to get wonton soup I can eat in the area. The BBQ part of the BBQ spring noodles wasn't there though. It tasted really good and I would order it again, but it taste like pepper steak instead. Then we get to desert and on any day you are open the next day, deserts should NEVER run out. Even vegans like their deserts and that is the quickest way to get me to not love your restaurant, granted this one was just icing on the top(pun intended) for what was already a mediocre experience. I wanted to try the cakes they offered, but all the lady said they had were cookies and I can make vegan cookies with ease, not to mention with locally grown and sustainably produced ingredients so I don't really need cookies. So to sum it all up, loved the food that I actually got to try sans desert, but I really can't say if I will go back to the restaurant without some improvement in communication and service. If I wanted that kind of service, I could've stayed home and cooked. For great service and desert, try cafe sunflower if you haven't already. I am noticing a lot of reviews about save the planet stuff in this restaurant and I have to say, I didn't see it until the very end as were were walking out the door. All I remember is Carrie Underwood's picture and that was a disturbing sign because as much as I am vegetarian, I see no way in how the earth will be saved by everyone going vegetarian. I don't see it because it isn't what we eat that is causing it, it is our standards. Most Americans eat meat now produced in "concentrated animal feedlot operations" aka CAFO's. That is what is so awful about meat. It is mass produced by technology resulting in cows being slaughtered with caked manure on their backs after living in knee deep crap as well and chickens breathing in fecal dust caked on them as they try to escape the crowded quarters of their even "cage free" lifestyle. If meat eaters would be picky about what meat the did eat and only ate grass feed beef, pasture raised chickens, rabbits, and turkeys, etc; the food system would slowly go back to what it used to be before technology took over agriculture and all the mass produced, corn produced under the cost of production like all commodity crops, and pollution from such practices would slowly cease to exist. read more

Horrible service. Didn't even get the opportunity to know if the food was good. My husband, mother, and I went on a Monday evening. It was not crowded so we anticipated good service. We were given the menus when we were seated but it took over 10 minutes for a server to check with us. Sensing problems with the service, we ordered our appetizer and entrees at the same time. About 15 minutes after ordering, glasses of water were delivered. Another 15 minutes went by and my husband's entree was delivered with no explanation on where the appetizer or other entrees were. 20 minutes later, my husband's entree was cold and no other food had been delivered. We decided to cut our losses and find somewhere else to eat. The lady at the cash register was apologetic and understood....I sense this happens a lot at the Loving Hut. read more
