H&W is, without a doubt, one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Located about 30-45 minutes north of Atlanta in one of the city's most beautiful neighborhoods, H&W may be a bit of a drive--but trust me, it's worth every mile. From the moment we were seated, I knew this place was special. Waiting at our table was a handwritten birthday card, such a thoughtful touch that immediately set the tone for the evening. We started with drinks--a Lemon Drop Martini (good, but nothing to write home about) and a glass of wine. Shortly after, our server brought over a beautiful presentation of the evening's steak cuts, walking us through each selection. The service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive from start to finish. Now let's talk about the food... Pork Belly - 10/10 Perfectly crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside, finished with a sweet and savory glaze. Absolutely incredible. Caviar - 10/10 Fresh, rich, and beautifully presented. Fried Lobster Tail - 10/10 This was pure perfection. Large, juicy, succulent lobster coated in a light tempura-style batter and fried flawlessly. Every bite felt luxurious. By this point I was almost full, but I knew I had to save room for the main event. Ribeye Oscar Style with Jumbo Lump Crab - 100000000000/10 I swear to God...this was hands down the best steak I've ever had in my life. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully seared, incredibly juicy, and cooked exactly as ordered. Every bite exceeded my expectations. The Oscar topping with the jumbo lump crab took it to another level. This steak alone is worth the drive. My friend ordered the Filet Mignon, which was equally impressive and cooked to perfection. For the sides: Loaded Mashed Potatoes - 10/10 Creamy, rich, and topped with thick-cut bacon. Comfort food at its finest. Au Gratin Potatoes - 8/10 Slightly oilier than I prefer, but still better than most I've had elsewhere. Broccoli - 8/10 It's broccoli! Fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. No complaints. Then came the perfect ending to an unforgettable birthday dinner. My birthday cake arrived covered in colorful sprinkles, complete with candles. For a moment, I felt like a little girl again making a birthday wish. The cake was unbelievably good----! 10/10. My friend ordered the Butter Cake, and it was just as phenomenal. Another 10/10. Final Verdict I've officially become an H&W snob. If you're visiting Atlanta and looking for an unforgettable steakhouse experience, H&W is my number one recommendation. My family dined here in June 2024. It was a surprise dinner where someone in our party surprised the guest of honor. We got this interaction on video and as I am watching it back fondly, I hear the incompetent female bartender or hostess make a ridiculous statement about noise. Clearly the guest of honor was surprised and let out a sound of elation because they couldn't control it and they were surprised. The noise wasn't meant to disturb anyone or cause commotion. The other guests do not seem bothered at all once realize it's a happy interaction. I didn't write this scathing review in 2024 because I was trying to spare the business however hearing the rude comment every time I rewatch the video is deeply upsetting. Now I can't reminisce on a pleasant memory because this person wanted to add their unnecessary (racially charged) two cents. I'm sure us being a black family also fueled their unnecessary comment about noise. I doubt that comment about noise would be said if we were a white family. Also note that we were the only black patrons in the restaurant. It's a shame that ignorant people find a way to ruin people of color's joy. I remember very vividly that the hostesses were not helpful and lacked common sense during the seating process and that they made damn near every thing way more difficult than it had to be. The steaks were just okay and the food was overpriced. Hence why we haven't been back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The decor was beautiful. We visited on a sunday and it was fathers day and I did not know they were due to close at 9pm as we were able to book a reservation online for 830pm. Upon calling to confirm closing time the reception said if we do not arrive 830 sharp then we will not be see as the kitchen closes by then. That did not make any sense to me but i proceeded to go to the restaurant. We were about 3 mins late and were greeted by hosts who immediately checked us in. My sister overheard them say they had 3 additional 845pm reservations so I am not sure why we were rushed. Upon getting seated I asked the hostess if we were going to be rushed out and she confirmed we would not and that the doors close by 9pm but we can stay longer and enjoy the full service of course. Soon after she leaves our waitress comes and says we need to put in our order in the next 3 mins as she mentioned the kitchen would be closing at 845pm. So we rushed and put in our order. Luckily I had an idea of what I wanted. We ordered 8oz filet mignon, ora king salmon, mashed potatoes, creamy spinach and lobster mac and cheese. I honestly could do without the 2 sides and should have just stuck to the lobster mac and cheese as that was really delicious. We also got drinks, Blue Skies which was a mocktail and Peachtree Julep which was a delicious bourbon drink. I actually had 2 haha! Another waitress assisted us with napkins on our laps and got me a stool for my purse which i thought was very thoughtful. The steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection and the salmon was good. Upon finishing our meal, they brought a tall cake for the birthday girl! It was delicious although we couldn't take more than a few bites, we certainly ate it later at home. Overall the atmosphere was lively and the restaurant was beautiful and intimate. I would suggest if you go that you book an earlier time before they close to avoid feeling rushed to our order. H&W has been on our list to try for a while, and my husband's birthday brought the perfect opportunity. Making a reservation was easy, and the restaurant puts all of its policies up front. There is a dress code. For example, no jeans. However, I'm not sure if that's strictly enforced as we saw quite a few casually dressed customers. The venue is beautiful! It definitely sets the standard for a fine dining experience. The same can be said for customer service. There was also a musician present. We enjoyed our food: tomahawk, lobster mac n cheese, and whipped potatoes. Everything was good! My husband received a massive slice of complimentary birthday cake. That was a very nice surprise! I love a good steak house and throughly enjoyed H&W. The ambience was beautiful and the service was the bomb! I love how they bring cuts to your table to show you the steaks , they sold me with the waygu. It was so good and cut like butter ! Omg my mouth is watering for it now. H&W was a great experience from the Valet to the table. Everyone on the premises had positive attitudes the entire evening. Valet is a $5 minimum, but that's fine because they really take care of your car and bring it right around once you are ready to depart. The hosts and waitstaff are always around to take care of your every need and make sure you have a top notch experience. For us, the layout provides plenty of space to get to and from your seat. It also allows plenty of room for the staff to move about efficiently. This evening we had seafood appetizers (shrimp and oysters), followed by two T bone steaks and sides (spinach and brussel sprouts). Everything was prepared to our liking and came to the table with the perfect temperature. No reason to send anything back. Everything was a bit too salty for my taste--and that's saying a lot because I'm Asian and we don't shy away from salt . This was a different kind of salty though... to the point where it gave me a headache. Lobster bisque: A friend and I ordered it. The first spoon was delicious, but after a few more bites it became overwhelmingly salty. I turned to the person next to me and realized she had already stopped eating hers for the same reason. Sea bass: This was even saltier. Like high-blood-pressure salty. I had to stop eating it and switched to the steak instead. Steak: Cooked perfectly, but still a bit too salty. Whoever was on salt duty that day had a very heavy hand. On a positive note, the millionaire oysters were a big hit absolutely delicious, just very pricey. We were a part of 7 that were in town for business meetings. I have been around the Peachtree Corners/Norcross area for a number of years and came back after some absence. Surprised to hear about this dress code, valet only, high priced establishment here. Service is as great, food yummy, and bathrooms immaculate :-) I was prepared to see an attendant in the bathroom. Steaks were cooked perfectly, but for the price not sure they were comparable to New York or Chicago in taste etc. But for Norcross wow. Very impressed by the deserts. I was wearing golf shirt, jeans and sneakers so I guess the dress code might depend. And even to have a sign with a dress code is a little tacky in my mind. So the main reason for the low stars is the fact that we were pressured to have a $300 per person spend. This is completely ridiculous and not stated with our reservation or our seating but before desert. So be very careful for this pressure tactic. We came as a group of 6 to celebrate my mom's birthday and if you're looking to celebrate someone well at a restaurant, this is the place to go. Everyone was so attentive to detail especially Tayler and Andrea who did such an amazing job explaining the menu to us. The steak was amazing! The food was very good. The server told us the New York strips were black angus so we got those and a filet mignon. They were cooked very well and they were all very tasty. The Caesar salad could have had more leafs but it was good too. The service was amazing. As we sat we immediately were asked for our drinks and while the food did take some time to cook (reasonable for thick steaks) the staff was very attentive. For 16oz, the steaks were bigger than I expected. We got a free 7 layer birthday cake which was unexpected but nice. They also gave us chocolate muffins on the way out. Being from the South, I had to try their Rockefeller oysters and lobster tail for appetizers. Simply amazing. We also got steaks with potato au gratin, asparagus, and tempura cauliflower. Warm and fresh and perfect. I had two. We had a regular with us so we let him make the recommendations for the starters. I'm going to be honest. I am not a fan of green chilies but these were exquisitely sautéed and flavorful. Not too hot or spicy but just the right amount of kick. The artichoke with prosciutto melted in your mouth and one order was w ohhh for about 4. Just when I thought the appetizers couldn't get any better, out comes the Mexican street corn with a twist. I have no idea what or how but I have never tasted anything so delicious ever. This is the way to eat corn, my friends. A perfect mix of sweet and savory and I was hooked. We then moved on to our main course. Our server had brought over the steak tray to let us know about the featured steaks and picks. They were perfectly marbled and butchered and I was all in. I ordered the filet with lobster for a good old fashioned surf and turf. I topped it with be raise and it was game on. The steak cut like butter and the lobster was perfectly cooked and tender. It was absolute perfection. The rest of the table had ribeyes and they were just as good as the filet. Cooked to perfection at medium rare and just gorgeous on the plate and fulfilling in our bellies. To top it off, they give you a complimentary muffin to go. They mix it up so you won't get the same one every time. This time, we got cranberry walnut and this muffin was fantastic. They have valet service and there is a dress code. Reservations are required. This place is everything you expect from a steakhouse and then some. I cannot recommend H&W enough. For this year's Friendsgiving we opted to go out instead of having it catered in. We had a group of 8 so we reserved a private room. Ambiance: Driving up you can do the complimentary valet but they ask for a min $5 tip. There's also self-parking options. We were greeted at the door and immediately shown to the private room which was right off the entrance. It's decorated like a wine cellar and has a gas fire place. Lighting and the live music outside the door was a great accent. Service: Our service team was there instantly to get us water and take drink orders. He told us about the wine suggestions, cocktails and what unique things they do in house like stuffed olives. We ordered a bottle, some cocktails and then went to the food orders. Food: We were served fresh bread and then our courses came out. The H&W Tower for an appetizer is amazing and gives you a variety of what is to come for dinner. Then we had a few items from the menu - filet mignon, branzino, shrimp scampi, NY strip, salmon & shrimp and more. For dessert we shared the butter cake that was delectable. Every calorie and dollar spent was worth it. Overall: This is a pricey outing so go prepared to drop some bucks but the quality, service and taste does land so well. Is it overpriced? Very nice upscale steakhouse. Beautifully decorated. There is a dress code. Although i was not redirected (black jeans, black top with sandals), I was underdressed and from the look of the hostess, it was very evident. However being that i sat at the bar it appeared to be ok. Bar staff were very attentive. If one became preoccupied another was happy to assist. My night consisted of the lavender lady beverage which was similar to a lavender lemon drop, oyster Rockefeller, lamb chops, lobster macaroni and creamed spinach. The bread comes out very fresh and very soft and tasty. Everything was cooked to perfection with the exception of the creamed spinach. It was a tad watery and has a very thick layer of cheese on top. Had an amazing Valentines date night at H&W. The ambiance upon entrance was very soothing with live music playing in the back. We were seated in the back room which was perfect for the busy night. Our entire wait staff was absolutely phenomenal. I will break down each ordered item below. Oysters Rockefeller: we chose this as a starter since many of the starters we were unsure about. The oysters were fresh and a good size. Lychee lemon drop: very tasty, I would definitely order again. NY Strip: this was one of the most well cut strip I've had in a while. Juicy and flavorful, paired with their in-house steak sauce (I must say it reminded me of the bbq sauce from McDonald's-- not a bad thing!). Lamb chops: my partner ordered these and they were delicious. Juicy, great size, and flavorful. Brussel sprouts: these Brussels were amazing. They tasted like they were made with a balsamic glaze and had a great char to them. Mac and cheese: the Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty. Overall, I would rate this restaurant an 8.5/10. Make the drive. H&W is everything. I went on a Monday night and was pleasantly surprised to find live music even on a Monday. The restaurant itself is very spacious, which makes the dining experience feel comfortable and un-rushed. It's also fully staffed, so everything moves smoothly without you ever having to flag someone down. As elegant as the space looks, it genuinely feels just as elevated in service and atmosphere. One thing I really appreciated was the fresh floral arrangements placed throughout the restaurant lush, real flowers. That's not cheap, and it shows intention. It tells you the attention to detail extends beyond the plate and into the atmosphere. The food was excellent. Thoughtful options, well-prepared, and seasoned perfectly. Let me start off by saying the inside of the restaurant is beautiful, but, the hostess and the greeting we received when we arrived needed to be much better. I had a 6:15pm reservation and arrived at 6:12pm and they said we would be seated soon. It took about 10 minutes for us to be seated. That's a little inconvenient, especially since we had reservations. Minor annoyance. Also, It seems the restaurant does not enforce its dress code because the waiting area had several people who clearly didn't read nor comply with the dress code. When we were seated the dining experience was top notch. The staff were prompt and friendly. I also loved that the staff crumbed the table after each coarse. We ordered the grilled octopus as an appetizer. Sadly, they overcooked the octopus so it was rubbery, which was a bummer because the chimichurri sauce served with the octopus was delicious. For the main coarse we ordered the Wagyu bone-in ribeye, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Both side dishes were well seasoned and the steak was tender, juicy and full of flavor. I was quite impressed by the overall experience, excluding the initial greeting by the hostess and overcooked appetizer. I would recommend this restaurant for a nice steak dinner for a special occasion (dinner for 2, drinks + tip, more than $500). We were celebrating our anniversary, so the cost wasn't an issue, but this isn't a place where I would go more than a couple of times per year simply because I don't eat steak very often. I highly suggest you try this steakhouse if you are looking for a nice dining experience with good food and excellent service. read more

H&W has continued to amaze me! When you walk in you're greeted by the staff and everyone is so welcome. The entire place is gorgeously decorated and feels so upscale and refined. Who needs to go to Buckhead or downtown when we have this gem of a steakhouse OTP? The bread service is some of the softest bread I've had and is deliciously buttery and with a sprinkle of salt on the top. Everything that we ordered tonight was incredible and we weren't disappointed with anything. Our drinks were never empty or empty for long as someone was always coming around and filling our glasses. I've only gone on weeknights but the restaurant was decently full but not crowded. Over the weekend we drove by and the line of cars was into the road. There is complementary valet parking with their own private lot. I don't think there is a self parking option. read more

Incredible evening tonight here! Awesome singer on a Saturday night is always welcome. Got here at 530 pm and sat at the bar. Theresa is the best bartender in the ATL with a lot of support from Alena and Jackson. Drinks were great and the food.. amazing. The steaks are as good as anything in Atlanta. The meat presentation? Beautiful. You can tell they take pride in what they're serving. Everything looked elegant and plated with care. And the vibe? I just realized I failed to check-in DARN! However, I had the most wonderful birthday dinner at H & W Steakhouse, thanks to my honey! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel special. For starters, we indulged in the Maryland crab cake and lobster tail, and both were outstanding! The crab cake was packed with fresh crab meat and had a delightful crispy exterior, while the lobster tail & crab was succulent and perfectly seasoned--truly a fantastic way to kick off the meal! However, our entrees were not quite what we expected. I opted for the bone-in ribeye topped with blackened truffle butter, and the mister chose the filet mignon. Unfortunately, both steaks lacked the flavor we were hoping for, which was disappointing. The lobster mac 'n' cheese, while creamy, also didn't quite hit the mark in terms of taste. On a brighter note, the sea salt fries were thick and quite tasty, definitely a highlight! To drink, my cocktail of choice was the Lavender Lady, and I highly recommend it! It was refreshing and perfectly complemented the meal. My honey is a true bourbon enthusiast, so he stuck with his favorite bourbon selections, and enjoyed every sip. One of the nice touches to note is there is coat check available, making the dining experience even smoother. Additionally, there was a live musician onsite playing wonderful holiday tunes, which added to the festive atmosphere and made the evening feel even more special. At the end of the night, our waiter brought out a pretty four-layer slice of birthday cake topped with a candle, which was such a lovely surprise! I was not able to finish it, so I took the rest home to savor later. It was quite busy that evening, so maybe we just came on an off day for the kitchen. I've heard so many great things about H & W and was excited to dine there on my actual birthday. Despite the entrees not meeting our expectations, our waiter and his customer service were phenomenal. He was attentive, friendly, and truly made the evening feel special. We're definitely willing to give H & W another try, as the atmosphere, service, and starters were truly lovely. 10/10. Immediately yes. I went here for my 33rd birthday and this was absolutely the most amazing dining experience. The ambiance, food, decor, valet - all chefs kiss! I cannot speak more highly of the impeccable customer service. While the food is not cheap, you get what you pay for. It is quality. The steak is well seasoned, the drinks were strong, and all of the other tidbits of the service make your experience even more magical.
